Kim & Family Fact: In the Appleberry/Faye household, Michaela has the highest cooking skills; Clair, while not a bad cook, is better at baking; Kimberly is a moderate cook; the one time Ghost “cooked” something (popped popcorn in a microwave) he managed to burn half the popcorn while simultaneously leaving the remaining kernel unpopped; and the food that Nancy made was legendary: her cooking was so bad that it was thought that it could decimate entire populations. Luckily, the military did not discover the potential of Nancy’s cooking as a weapon.

Edit: The part about the popcorn is based on what really happened to me. I still have no idea how I did it... I just put the popcorn bag into the microwave and followed the instructions, but I still burnt half the popcorn and left the other half unpopped... twice, in two different microwaves. It's a talent :)

Well, while we are on the subject of cooking...

Remi Fact: Remi learned to cook working part of his childhood summers in the kitchen of his mother's restaurant. He hated missing out on some of the play during those lazy summer days, but he did gain an appreciation for the art of cooking.

Until the boat ride to Norton City, few of Remi's friends were probably aware of this talent. Like most of Remi's secrets, this is less a matter of intention and more the fact that Remiel never thought to display this fact or have any sort of pride in it.

...but now I feel like Kim should have known. He invited Remi over to his house and then Remi and Michaela got into a fierce cooking battle, forcing Kim and the rest of his siblings to eat and judge their various creations, clearing out the Appleberry/Faye pantry and nearly killing the others with burst stomachs.

Food would've been good though.

Anyway, leaving tomorrow morning on a trip, so I won't be around for a couple days, most like.

Try not to be completely lost without me.

And we'll try not to miss you too much, Ten. Hurry back though.

Kim & Remi Fact (if Tenish is okay with it!): Every now and then, when the group went back to their hometown or when the Appleberry’s visited them, Michaela and Remi have an intense cooking contest and have the group (or any other innocent bystanders) be the judge. Others were also encouraged to join the competition. The one time Nancy actually participated (only as one of the team's helper) she sent all the judges to the hospital and had been banned from entering or even helping the cooks in “M&R’s Battle of the Greatest Chef” contest.

*Gasps at Woodkid's “Iron”* Remi. If not him, Aaron. Death by Nancy’s cook—… I mean, death by leaving group and being overwhelmed by enemies.

Have fun! I know everyone dies, but try not to die on us!

Prisk said Oh my God! I'm such a walking cliche. Everything that is otherwise super boring is now suddenly super fun just because I have to study. Damn it, damn it, damn it…

It’s called a cliche for a reason! When I had a special exam, I actually started to do things I usually hate doing (cleaning room, dishes, and etc.) instead of actually studying for the exam.

Prisk said Haha! Can't imagine it being anything else! Perhaps the popcorn people have cursed you!

…. I knew it! I knew it was them all along! Bastards! Yeah, sure, I complain about movie popcorns being too salty (obviously to sell more drinks), but my kettle corn was innocent!… My poor, sweet kettle corn…

Welcome back Oz!

Well, it looks like we have our first casualty. Adora hasn't replied to my message, which I sent six days ago, and it's been over a month since he posted in the in-character. So, from now on, Freddy is an NPC that anyone can control and speak for until and if Adora returns.

JJ’s Random Comment of the Day:

When I read about laws such as "It's illegal to take a lion to the movies”, I can only assume someone did it. How do people intend enforce laws like “It's against the law for animals to have sex in the city limits”? Arrest the animal? Have them pay a fine? I doubt animals (excluding humans) care about human laws. Or are they inadvertently talking about humans? Well I guess city dwellers aren’t allowed to have sex, then.

Finally got myself feeling better. It seems that after the check-up, I was having a nasty case of flu in which the doctor believed to have originated from someone who previously had it, and I was having thoughts that it might possibly be my neighbor.

Anyway, I believe I can work on a post tonight but I can't promise to have it up by tomorrow. It'd probably be done on Monday.

Also, after a week of staying at home and dousing myself with a ton of movies (mostly mystery and romance-themed), I have this some kind of 'want' to start an RP based on the movies I've watched. But my mind is still clouded on a main idea for the RP and I absolutely have no experience at GMing, so maybe I could ask for help in the future? If some of you are willing of course.

Speaking of animals and diseases... the girls in, well, where I'm from, are so god damn slutty. It makes me sick to my ass... excuse my French. Not to mention my own friends! Dear lord.. and I have to drink with them tonight. At least I can drown myself in alcohol and not cringe as much at their behavior.

@Blackwell, that's good to know, pumpkin! I've been listening to some random songs by Lana Del Rey, starting to like them more and more! Even if the genre is not my usual selection.
@Insi, Oh, that's horrible! The flu is the worst. I'm glad that you're feeling better! I'll help you with whatever you want, if you need it!

@Everyone
It seems like things are slowing down a bit, but it was to be expected, so no need to panic! I think our speed is still great, perhaps even better than some other plays. Not that speed is important, but, well.. activity.

I think it's the fact that animals aren't sentient, and so they have no means to act out of cruelty. They do such things to survive, so there is no concept of murder or rape. It's a matter of surviving and passing ones genes on! A human wouldn't think of murdering a baby to inseminate a female like chimps and bears and most other animals to. A women wouldn't be like, "omg you killed my baby, so I guess I have to breed again," and it induces estrus. A human killing a baby is an act of cruelty, whereas a chimp killing a baby in front of the mother is an act of survival.

If you watch Lucy, which I did and it was amazing, Morgan Freeman's character brings up a good point about immortality and how, unless a habitat is inhospitable, then a being will look to pass on genes and survive, rather than achieve immortality.

"If its habitat is not sufficiently favorable, or nurturing, the cell will choose immortality, in other words, self-sufficiency and self management. On the other hand, if the habitat is favorable, they will choose to reproduce — that way, when they die, they hand essential information and knowledge to the next cell, which hands it down to the next cell, and so on. Thus knowledge and learning are handed down, through time."

Dunno how reliable that quote is, but I think it makes quite a bit of sense. *Nod* And I liked that movie and it was said by Morgan Freeman, so it must be true.

Regardless, it's all about survival and, with animals limited lifespan, survival means reproducing by any means necessary. That means killin' babehs and inseminating females against their will. It's terrible... very, very terrible, but it's also very common in the animal kingdom. Humans are sentient, though, so concepts like that don't stand well to reason, especially when, with our intelligence, we have better means of going about reproduction other than rape and murder. So, testing that theory and going by logic, it would be an act of cruelty to commit such crimes when we are able to take advantage of more efficient options. Our population is growing at an exponential rate, so there's the evidence to that.

At its base, we have laws for order, but we all know laws are in place for many, many more reasons other than order and sometimes those reasons subtly cross the threshold of necessity and can be considered borderline cruel.

But yeah, I think the movie also quotes that humans are the only animals capable of willing cruelty. Though, that can be challenged by certain, more intelligent animals.

Like the dolphin, which are dick bags of the ocean.

Anyway, I went on a tangent very unrelated to your post. Regardless, when laws like that are made, they're directed toward humans. If a lion comes into a movie theatre, people aren't going to be like, "Lion, that's against the law!" they're probably going to be like, "Who the hell let out the lion?" Because it's not the lions fault, as it has no concept of human laws and other things governing us as beings because Lions aren't sentient creatures. Or at least, they don't have the capacity to reason quite as much as humans. You point the finger at the human and not the creature as laws aren't made to govern animals. Though, I'm pretty sure they put down animals if they get out of the zoo or harm humans, which is more law of protection rather than laws to govern animals.

I dunno.

This is just me stating that I am here and that I will post sometime this weekend. @_@
