Sigma, with the possibility of bringing back both the Federation and Commonwealth we should consider some shared history for our countries.

My only concern so far is that I wrote my sheets in BBcode so they may look disastrous on here at first.

I cannot decide between which nation to use as a GM nation; they exist in the same universe but at different periods so cannot co-exist. I'm thinking of using the Technocracy although their benevolent assimilation may be too similar to the antagonists.

The free state is always so much fun to play as it's less of a nation and more of a world of its own.
Maybe a quick bit of info on each and you guys could decide which ye'd prefer to interact with/ see as the GM nation as I want to take players' considerations into account.

This game is starting to sound like it's turning into a continuation of a game I never got around to playing the first time. It feels a bit weird because everyone seems to know and be reacting to everyone else, so I may just back out.

Nah, don't. We're just using old stuff, but by no means is it a continuation. Prior knowledge of what the hell we're talking about is not necessary, so no worries :p

And that sounds like a good idea Darkmatter.

Haha. Yea, don't worry about it too much. I have several "Commonwealths" that, while technically, are all the same country are different stages in its "life", if that makes any sense at all.

DM, I always liked the Free State.

Also, a lot of us are sort of 'regulars' if you will, back from the old Guild. So we're familiar with the sort of shenanigans everyone else likes to get up to.

*Leans on the non-humanoid aliens nonchalantly.*

That said, don't be discouraged. As Darkspleen just alluded to, even those who are recycling nation concepts are typically changing several facets of them considerably. I've read of two of Darkspleen's Commonwealths before, and both were virtually indistinguishable from each other.

I made a wiki-factsheet for the Singularity Wars

The factsheet

@Ollum: We are not doing a continuation, these are just old idea's from a long time ago

That's a cool little pseudo-wiki page, Serpentine. Kudos.

Anyone interested in some backstory with my Graal?

The Graal could perhaps have relations with the Federation? Mostly trade and whatnot, maybe a past conflict during their rapid colonization efforts. And I know one antagonistic faction related to the Feds who would find good use with the Graal mercenaries.

@Terminal: Eh, I'm not sure "virtually indistinguishable" is the phrase I would use.

@Theo: What have you got in mind for the backstory?

Does anyone remember that one Steampunk nation roleplay created by Zacharius a long time ago? I'm tempted to bring back the great nation of the Hali back as an entire planet. Just imagine the Reptars running amok!

Also I could be interested in some back story, Theo, whatever nation concept I do decide to use.

I am what you would refer to as a 'regular' to then I suppose. I am well familiar with the old guild, Just not having played a game with any of you before it seems. (For a second it kind of sounded like you meant the latter seemed to be a odd and expected requirement of the former.) I'm not exactly 'freshed faced' when it comes to these types of sites or this one in particular.

@Ollum: By the way, if you are still interested in being that human splinter group (Which I always love to see), I would advise you look at that link I put down before.

Since I put Sigma's Federation founder (A leader of Earths outer colonies), I figure your past leader may also need to be added.

I don't think I am going to be doing the pslinter group idea. That already seems to be claimed at least once.

It's odd that we veterans still don't know one another very well. Hell, I joined old guild in I think 06'.. back when free rp was called basic.. And even being with the guild that long, I barely know many people.

Weird eh?

Aside from that, Very nice fact sheet there serp.

I don't see why there can't be more then one, more human factions would be awesome. But do you have a back-up idea if you decide to do away with the idea?
