I wouldn't go ahead and assume what the end looks like. Nothing is certain other than the present.
Please don't take this as snark, because it isn't. However, in Bismarck's mind, Japan's refusal to make an accurate assesment of the balance of power indicates that he should not let the Japanese retain a strong military lest they threaten German interests in the future.

See, you say that this isn't snark, and you use the guise of Bismarck in an attempt to qualify your statement (which is a weak attempt because you are implying that you completely understand and think just like Bismarck by posting this in the OOC). However, the need to qualify any statement has significance. If your comment isn't supposed to be snarky, then why do you need to qualify it unless it is? Also, I'm getting pretty damn tired of your veiled threats and it's starting to feel like borderline harassment. Overall, the last comment that you made is completely unnecessary. Now, if you wanted to RP as Bismarck and say that, then there's the IC. This isn't the proper place to make a statement like that.

These are not veiled threats. You'll forgive me if I assumed Japan wanted to emerge as an effective state rather than daimyos battling for dominance again, but I won't make that mistake anymore. No more speaking threats, just executing them

With the qualifier or not. It is snark, and the comment as a whole is not needed as I mentioned. It's very much like saying "I don't mean to be rude, but you're fat." Have the qualifier or not it's still rude. Also, if they aren't veiled (thinly veiled, I forgot to say) threats, then what are they? You admit that they are threats, so I don't know how else I am supposed to see them. I mean how do you expect me to interpret the last point that you just made? Not a threat? Finally, the fact that you say that your assumption is a mistake is in itself a bit offensive itself as well due to its implications.
In the end, what is the point that I'm trying to make? There are a lot of things that you don't have to say, and that there are better places and moments to say some of them.

The orders relating to Austria and the Eighth against the Ottomans should be held off (and vise versa). Maxwell agreed to the terms presented, he just hasn't posted the treaty.

I do believe this was the least-bloody year so far. Proud of you all. I suppose it's too much to hope that next year will be even better?
Anyway, I've had quite a big few days of work recently, and I was postponing the war update because I wasn't sure if peace would be achieved with the Ottomans. So as a result, I have made very little progress with the main update. I will do my utmost to get the update posted tomorrow, but it may have to be postponed for a day or so, so sorry in advance if it does.
