Halfway through Deborah's advice Aislin got hit in the face with the best mental image ever. Deborah in badass dreads and a doobie in her hand, speaking with a stonerly accent: You should lay off the drugs, maaaann.

Shh, this is suppose to be like, a serious moment. Aislin play-scolded herself, hiding her bubbling laughter behind a cough. She waited until she thought she could contain her silliness, then met her advisor's gaze. "Shit, you know, you're probably right. I won't use it during class hours."

She smiled at Shannon's comment. "Move on, indeed. If only I'd known about the Academy sooner, I'd have loved growing up in such a diverse, and so far quite inviting, environment. Plus they have no such thing as winter here, right?"

"How about you make it look like their utensils are attacking them? That'd be one surprise." Deborah said.

Aislin tilted her head to the side, thinking about it. Something clicked, and the mischievous look was back in her eyes. "Yes, yes! That would work perfectly. We can make that work, give them a 'lil scare too."

As Shannon revealed her own ability, Aislin couldn't help but romanticize it with visions of dancing cloth, twirling ribbons and flowing dresses making themselves. It almost reminded her of Cinderella, just no mice holding buttons the size of their head. "That's perfect for a fashionista like you, I'd love to see you make something one of these days. Mm, I can't think of any ideas either, but I know cloth manipulation would work awesomely if we had more time to plan."

Aislin watched the targeted table a little longer, feeling a twist in her gut. "Mm, after a second look, I don't know if these kids are in the mood for a prank. It looks like there's some tension over there. Plus quite a few have up and gone. But hey," She grinned again, glancing excitedly at Shannon and Deborah. "Now that I know you guys are interested, we can pull something extraordinary later this year with a mix of badass abilities. I think it'd be super fun, especially with your expertise."

She poked at the last remaining bits of lettuce and tomato on her plate, inwardly congratulating herself on getting her veggie on. Healthy food was her preference, but with the munchies it was easy to fill up on a bowl of candy. Bowl of anything, really. With her hunger no longer in the way she briefly considered her future. The idea of roommates played at the back of her mind, filling her with a slight nag to go to the Administration building soon. There's no rush, 'Curiosity'. Aislin rolled her eyes at herself.

"So," Aislin furrowed her brows. "I'm puzzled. Are return students already set-up? Like, you guys know who you'll be sharing your dorm with and everything?"

Poppy

Poppy forced a smile and lowered the handkerchief. Great. I don't have a place to put this thing. Her formal dress was completely devoid of pockets. Guess I'll have to hang on to it. It would be rude to ditch it, plus there was a chance she'd need it again. Hopefully not that night.

The only other person that she remembered ever calling her cute was the servant who was the most mothering to her. Granted he said her name, but it was close enough. She could feel the warmth in her cheeks as they began to turn a rosier than they were before. Thankfully he continued because didn't know what to say or if she even could.

At Red's suggestion she managed to tear away and look in the direction she had came from. Maybe he was right, with him the prospect of giving it another shot seemed more appealing. Only when she offered his hand did she have seconds thoughts. Taking the hand of a smoker seemed uncleanly to her. However the alternative of him leaving her alone was worse. Good thing I have hand sanitizer and scent lotion in my bag. Despite that fact she still found her self grimacing slightly as she reached out to accept it.

So much for that. No sooner than she'd taken his hand Nikki up and left. Now Poppy felt really awkward, she considered letting go but didn't.

Vespera

Nikki didn't seem very receptive to Felix, which was exactly what Vespera was hoping. Now she could get the socially inept girl into her ball court. Or so she thought. Oh I'll still be here she thought to herself. The main reason for her impatience was that it killed her to sit around while she could be gathering information and formulating plans for the new year. Still, like her lesser kin she would remain for as long as it took to trap her prey. Even if it was inconvenient. For the meantime there was nothing keeping her from evaluating the other fresh meat while she waited.

Despite being the closest, the Felix boy was nothing more than a pest so she skipped over him. There was the one eyed girl, except she could see their conversation going south and she wanted to be able to pull away when her true quarry returned. It was selected for her when the human light bulb failed to contain herself yet again. What Vespera had to say would be significantly harsher if she hadn't reigned her power back in so quickly. That and it being it being the first day she put a better foot forward.

"My my, you really do have trouble containing yourself Alex. Hopefully nothing that can't be remedied during you time here." Never before did Vespera remember wishing somebody else to gain mastery of their power. Of course just to the extent that she wouldn't have spots every five minutes. "Until then maybe you could be a little less excited, I shouldn't have to wear sunglasses at night."

Vespera looked slightly downward as she addressed Alex so her veil would shield her retinas from further onslaught.

Red Winston

Red noticed Poppy's hesitation in touching his hand, along with the small gricace when she did so, but he didn't say anything.

"She probably smelled the cigarette smell. From her fingers, it is easy to deduce that she doesn't smoke and her smell and clothes indicate strict cleanliness. It is probably uncomfortable for her to hold my hand...Should have noticed earlier." was what run through his head.

He pretended he was thirsty and let her hand in order to fill a clean glass with water, not giving his hand back again, to relieve Poppy. He didn't want to put pressure of her when the reason he first spoke to her was to make her less tense.

He saw his idea going to waste when Nikki and Amanda took off and headed who-knows-where. With Amanda, it wouldn't surprise him if they wanted to swim back to America and back or something along those lines. He calculated all the possible candidates that could match Poppy's profile, but he couldn't find anyone available, with Jake being with Gabe, Henry in another table and Nikki heading out. Of course his calculations were rushed because it would seem akward if he just stayed motionless to enter his Brain Hall to make a thorough analysis.

"Think quick, quick, quick!" Red thought, his brain running at full speeds.

Finally he could only come up with this:

"Well, we are pretty much unlucky. So that leaves us with two options. Go after the girls that just left, which I already know are good people, or try our luck with a new group, if you are feeling lucky enough! I am also open to any other option you may come up with! Just tell me what you would like to do and I come along!" Red said, trying to encourage Poppy by giving her the freedom to decide.

That's when a strange, one-armed man entered the Cafeteria.

Christopher Fox

Twelve years. Twelve years of solitude and now he decides to go back to the Academy. It would probably be the last time he lived in the wilderness of the artifical forest that surrounded the Academy. It would almost be nostalgic, if it wasn't for the reason he lived there in the first place.

Realizing he would go back, Christopher Fox tightly grabbed the place where his missing arm would normally be. He was still relutant to go, but, this time, things were different. Henry was assigned as a teacher there, someone strong, someone Chris aknowledged. A former classmate and a valued friend. And he hoped that Henry would still consider him a friend, too, after the incident that is. He was now at the top of the cliff nearest to the Academy, taking one last look of it from afar, since he would now be living in it once again. He didn't know how long it would take for someone to graduate the Academy, since he abandoned it on his first year, but he figured that most of the classmates he had should already be gone, making Henry, some of the oldest members of the Academy and a few others the only ones who knew who he was. For all the others, he would just be a stranger. He walked down the cliff steadily. He didn't have the power in his legs to run, due to his atrophic muscles, which allowed him only small actions. Taking his time he was now by the front doors.

The school didn't change much from when he was a student, so he knew where to go, since this was the first day. The senior students once claimed that Dellamore makes the same entrance ceremony every year, so everyone should be in the Cafeteria by now. His first destination, however, was different. He headed to the Gym. He had to take a shower, or the other students would die from his odor and he wouldn't bet on the staff to not have given his former room to someone else. Not a chance he wanted to take. The Gym showers were open, even though the Gym itself was not. Searching a bit, he found shampoo, probably from one of the students who had to rush to attend to the entrance ceremony, or be late. It was the first time in years that he had a proper bath, which also answered his question, whether his skin was tanned because he was burnt, or because he was dirty, confirming that the first actually stood true. It was also the first time he looked at himself in the mirror. White hair mixed with black, probably because of fatigue and harsh conditions. He was so skinny that he looked like a mummy and the missing arm made matters even worse. He even wondered if he was dead and this was a result of another superpower he had. He got rid of the idea rather quickly, though. He also needed to shave, but safety razors are strictly personal and didn't want to use one that wasn't his own.

Unshaved and with long hair, someone would swear that it was Tom Hanks as the castaway from the movie of the same name, who was washed up at the shore of the Academy. Except he wasn't as handsome as Tom Hanks. The only difference between the two was that Chris was now clean. Other than that, his appearance and his worn out clothes made him an exact replica of a real castaway. With that appearance he went into the Cafeteria.

On his way, he saw two girls exiting the Cafeteria, one of them pretty shaken up. In the past, he would just pop out of nowhere to cheer her up, but now he wasn't in that mood. He didn't seem to recognise either of them, but, after twelve years, he wouldn't be able to tell if he knew them or not. Concentrating on his main purpose, finding Henry, Chris stepped inside the Cafeteria, causing a small reaction to some of the first years and some of the seniors too. Not something huge, like the whole banquet suddenly turning silent, but some people who noticed him coming in couldn't help but whisper about his frail appearance and missing arm to their fellow friends and classmates. Not that it mattered to him.

He slowly rolled his eyes from one side to the other, until he found the only person he knew he would recognise in a glance. With the exception of being considerably taller and bulkier, he knew that the lizard-looking fellow he saw was Henry.

"He looks as intimidating a lizard as he was when I first met him..." he commented in his mind, ready to burst into tears.

Composing himself, he walked towards the table Henry was sitting. He approached him hesitantly, after all, Chris didn't know if he would recognise him too and even if he did, would he be mad about the incident twelve years ago? Did he even know Chris was coming back? He was about to find out with Henry's reaction to his gentle touch on his shoulder, along with the phrase he muttered in a weak voice:

"Hey, buddy...I am back..."

"I wish I could give you some, three more years and you'll be able to share a drink with me." Henry said, giving Dana a huge smile. He couldn't get drunk himself, his body filtering out any toxic substance through a super enhanced liver, or simply breaking it down on a molecular level due to his acidic blood, which while not alien blood, was still far more toxic than any normal humans and could technically be considered a biohazard if exposure was a constant. He chuckled at Dana's statement with the children. "That's not true," Henry began, crossing his arms across his chest and mock huffing. "The small ones are too bony anyway..."

He felt a hand on his shoulder, and turned his head to look to see who had called his attention. He looked down, and his chameleon like eyes blinked a few times, the pupils expanding and dilating a few times to make sure he was seeing correctly. "Holy shit." He said to himself, for once at a loss for words. The man before him was thin, almost sickly so, tanned, and had an unkept beard. Normally he wouldn't have recognized the person, but his right arm was gone. Like, GONE, gone. As in not there anymore. That voice... he hadnt heard it in over a decade. "Christopher Fox... Where the fuck have you been?" He said, quickly kneeling down and scooping up the man before him in a huge bear hug, before realizing what he was doing, and that he was most likely going to crush him on accident if he kept it up. He set him down and pretty much focused on the man in front of him. His friend, whom he hadn't seen in so damn long. He gave him a once over again, making sure he was okay, before turning and looking over his shoulder to look at Dana and Theresa. "Girls, you probably don't know this man, but this is Christopher Fox. An old friend of mine, who I haven't see in forever." he said, trying to alert them of how much this meant to him. "I haven't seen him in over a decade.. Chris, this is Dana and Theresa, two friends of mine they came here after you... went on leave for a while." Henry said. He didn't want to say exactly what happened to the girls. That was Chris' business on if he wanted to tell them or not.

Henry had been injured in the incident himself, his legs being badly broken by shrapnel. Unlike Chris, and most of the students, he was able to make a full recovery, and with his set of abilities, was able to do it within about two weeks. He was a bit shaky on his feet after that for a little while, sure, but he managed fine within about a day. He thanked his lucky stars for his abilities to not only exist underwater for a very long period of time, but also recover from such devastating injuries. He wished Chris could've done the same. Henry was no stranger to the islands jungles, and he had known his friend was alive. He hadn't been allowed to go looking for him, and with not only his scholarship, but also well paying job on the line, he couldn't risk breaking the rules. He would've gone out now that he could, this... this was a whole new level of a day. He had met a lot of people today. But this might've taken the cake. He knew he must've been suffering. The worry lines that were etched across his friend's face were proof of that. He made a promise to himself to get his friend back on his feet. One step at a time.

"Go get yourself some food. I'll wait right here." Henry declared. "I have some champagne for you as well, if you care to try it." Chris had most likely never tasted alcohol, so there was a first time for everything, if he was willing. Plus, champagne was a celebratory drink. So why not?

Cordelia Lynn Holmes

Oh. Canada. That explained a lot, like his being a giant lizard and whatnot.

And twenty-two? Cordelia wasn't exactly in a position to criticize the school's academia, but seemed like that was a little young to be having a Ph.D. Lynn vaguely wondered how much he had to cheat to get a degree in neurobioscience, then decided she really didn't care that much. He moseyed off after that, leaving Lynn (as per usual) by herself, before returning with liquor and more food. Sadly, it was all for the little demon kid. Gah. Wine? Fish? If this motherfucker brings me a loaf of bread, he might just be Jesus.[/u] Cordelia continued to eat, mulling over the situation at the Academy. There was a sizable amount of kids here-co-ed, for better or for worse (Cordelia wasn't really looking for dating opportunities at the moment, regardless) and what was certainly an eclectic staff. Lots of food, if nothing else. She didn't know what the workload was like, and being...ah...rusty, on her education could prove detrimental. She was hoping it was a lot of PE, powers being used-things she could excel at with fairly minimal effort. If they started throwing physics and world history at her, Cordelia was going to show them a mundane, yet nonetheless exceptional gift of hers: cheating.

Most of the crowd seemed to be more-or-less well-off, average kids. There were the wealthy looking Hispanics, Suits, a few others dressed up pretty nice. Lynn wondered what kind of tuition fees there were, and if they'd been waived in her particular case-if so, it'd be reaaaallll easy for her to get kicked off this rock if she acted up. Lynn wasn't one to follow authority, but she was willing to play along to her advantage. A place to crash, food, and maybe the possibility of a degree of some sort? Yeah, she could avoid doing anything blatantly upsetting for a while if she was getting all that in return. Lynn, however, figured this deal was too sweet to last-she'd already gotten more stares than the walking lizard had, and once she took off the hoodie and bared her tattoos, she figured even more would be coming. Fine by her. [i]You all can dance on my grave if you want, but I'm getting buried at sea. You bitches'll drown.

Then Nightlight started chattering, which was alright by Lynn. Chick had one hell of a scar on her face, which Lynn could identify with. Plus, unlike the other people here, she didn't give off that fake vibe. Alex might've had a little too much enthusiasm and pep for Lynn's personal tastes, but eh. She wasn't putting on-at least as far as Cordelia Lynn Holmes could tell. "Uh, yeah," she said, struggling to keep up with the machinegun-speed of Alex's excited talking. "I'm, uh, excited. First year." she paused, chewing on a piece of bread. The chick lit up when she spoke. Literally, she was glowing a lot. Cordelia's shadow shifted away from it, but it didn't seem to faze the girl herself. "Yeah, should be, uh...interesting." Lynn was aware of her somewhat lackluster conversational skills, but she wasn't used to speaking to someone and, you know, actually wanting to prolong the conversation. Damnit. Damn it all.

Then Morticia showed up, and Cordelia had to struggle to keep the grin off her face. Ah, this was a lot more her speed. "Morticia, honey," Cordelia said calmly, wiping up some ketchup with her fires and biting into it with nonchalance-she stared right at Vespera, refusing to look away. Her posture was stiffer, one of total confidence and...hardness. She was quite clearly projecting that if Vespera was looking to be thrown out the nearest window, Cordelia Lynn would be happy to oblige. "Much like our glow-in-the-dark amiga over here, I have trouble containing myself. And, unfortunately, she's honestly the only one within, say, thirty miles, who isn't pissing me off right now." Cordelia swallowed her food and flashed a brilliant smile with her slightly crooked teeth. "So why don't you take a nice, deeeep breath in, then blow out all the passive aggressive bitchiness you didn't let out in that last sentence of yours." Cordelia continued eating, literally no signs of anger emanating from her-just cold...readiness. The truth was, she was mostly just bored-it was 99% boredom and maybe 1% feeling bad for Alex. Well, .5%. The other .5% was that Cordelia hated when people were annoying while she ate, and-Murphy's Law being in full swing, every asshole in the cafeteria was being annoying. From now on, she was eating outside, alone. "So unless you want to be relocated to the Academy for the Blind, and unless you want to wear those shitty knock-off shades for the rest of your life, I suggest you turn your pale ass around, walk it right out of here, and go back to blowing Goth kids or watching Twilight or whatever you do in your free time." Cordelia gave her a chummy wink of the eye and finished up with the food on her plate.

Invigorated, she ignored Morticia and faced Alex. "Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. Being a freshman and stuff. You know what we're doing after this? Because I'm down to just stay in here and eat for the next few hours if there's nothing going on."

Shannon Jacqueline Balore, & Deborah Lillian Termellio.

"I can make you a dress sometime." Shannon, took a sip out of her drink, looking directly at Aislin, "I would usually charge, but since we are having such a great time... I'll give you a freebie." She was fine with making clothing for people. It wasn't like it took a lot of effort anyone. All it took was a little concentration, and she could put an outfit together in a few minutes. "I can even make it bullet proof for you." She looked up at Aislin.

After thinking of something, Deborah quietly giggled. "Yes, imagine running through warzones wearing a pink dress cocktail dress, killing Nazis or Zombies or whatever." She laughed, thinking of movies and other media that people are obsessed with.

"Stylish and effective." Shannon followed that up.

Hm. What a disappointment, Aislin backed out. Probably was intimidated by the people there, saying 'they're not in the mood to be pranked'. Shannon flicked her hair. Well, no one is. Not even us. She thought to herself, she would have went through with the prank regardless, but she was going to leave it at that. However, Aislin brought up a more pleasing aspect; a larger prank. Pranking some of the older, haughty, students would have been a blast. And maybe they could even prank Adam, now that would be a sight to behold. "Very well. You almost disappointed me, but you came right back around with a better idea." She smirked.

Deborah was still focusing a little bit on Aislin, picking up body language and any other subtle cues - No. Deborah stopped right there, while Aislin might be more understanding of their powers, she probably wouldn't want to be blatantly read like a card. Aislin asked about the way the students are set up, and this was a pretty question, with a simple answer, "... They usually mix and match students every year, so that everyone can find that 'perfect match'," Deborah finger quoted, sarcastically, "Usually we can just say if we're chill with another student... but, if not - you get the picture. So, we honestly don't know who we're sharing a room with until we go to the administration building and get handed a note with a name and a key."

Adding onto that, Shannon said, "And who's set up or not wholly depends on who's a full student- as in, stays here twenty-four seven- and the people who leave here when the school year ends. The two of us fall under the latter category. So, like Deebs says, it gets sorted when we go to the administration building."

"Speaking of which, we should head there soon," Deborah inserted, "But I would choose now or later, because the second the banquet ends, it's going to be up to it's neck in people, and it'll be ages before your stuff gets sorted."

"In either case, we should meet again, Aislin, you have a cell phone?" Shannon asked. Either way, Shannon pulled a square of cloth out of her dress, the outfit immediately readjusting itself to even out the missing pieces. This cloth had Shannon and Deborah's name, along with their phone numbers. She put it on the table, and dragged it over to her. "... I suggest we meet at the student lounge, lots of students relax there."

Jake, Gabe, & Jaska Valos.

Leaving the table seemed like a good idea, honestly. The people here were having their conversation, and the Valos were withdrawn from it, eating their food. Naturally because they had zero interest in these people, and they were being ignored. Probably because they weren't interesting enough.

Henry brought some alcohol over, and that reminded Gabe and Jake of their own stash, like they expected, it was just for Henry. "That better be full of maple syrup, Mr. Olin." Jake said to Henry, tipping his hat before the lizard-man walked off. Cordelia was minding her own business, making small talk, something they respected. Alex was a little spastic, barely containing herself, which implied a very innocent mindset. Well, at least Jake can appreciate someone who speaks from their soul. Nikki and Amanda left (The later made them sigh with relief). Felix sounded like an idiot. Vespera was still trying to be brooding.... Hmm... Perhaps their meal should come to an end soon. The staff did say they should head to the administration building.

Jaska was still wordless, messily eating the fish that Henry got him. He was too distracted with his own meal to really pay attention to anyone else. But, at this rate, he was nearly full, and probably wanted some rest. Or be somewhere else.

Then Vespera decided to go all out on the bitchiness towards Alex, both Gabe and Jake had to roll their eyes for basically the same reason. While Alex may have been a little annoying, such passive-aggressive bullshit was uncalled for. It probably. They didn't say a word, they don't fight other people's battles - Especially spastic strangers like her. But, Cordelia had a different idea, she took a few punches towards Vespera. Well, it wasn't what they would say, but, nonetheless, it was fun to watch Vespera be taken down a few notches. They quietly chuckled at each other, they weren't busting out laughing, but Vespera could notice. Who knows how Vespera will react? Either way, fight breaks out, and they'll be the first to leave.

Not their battle.

Dana Lucille Alcott.

Who might he be...? Dana asked herself as she looked at the strange newcomer with a missing arm who just walked in. Jesus, this guy looked like he lived in the wild for years. It made Dana disregard the conversation for a... Oh god is Wild man coming over here? Oh dear... She was worried for a bit, what this strange man might want with them. This could be nasty, actually....

She was wondering what the hell she could do if he tried anything. There's too many people here, her power would be worthless. The best Tess could do is piss on his leg and hope for the best.

Wait

The guy knew Henry!

That was mildly reassured her. Since... Well, who was this guy, really? The way Henry described him, he seemed like a mystery, like someone who was a. An old master you see in movies. Though his last name was rather humorous. "Hey, Mr. Fox..." Dana awkwardly said, keeping her eye on Chris. He's an old friend, but why did he look like that? Where has he been all this time? Maybe somewhere off the island? There were so many scenarios and hypotheticals, that there was no point in trying to decode them all.

She just sat and waited.

Alex seemed rather pleased by Lynn's responses, even if they did seem slightly short and difficultly spoken. Alex knew that if Lynn didn't want to talk to her, then she would have ended the conversation by now by either leaving or turning her attention to someone else. And Alex was a great conversation maker, so she had no problem chatting along to Lynn. “Yeah! I'm excited for classes about our powers! I wonder how they are gonna work, like if they are gonna section us off depending on our types!” Alex shoveled more food into her mouth, swallowing before continuing to talk. She had given her a bit more time to respond. “I'm not really looking forward to the normal classes though, I never liked math and stuff.”

Now Alex was normally good at talking to people in bad moods, but Vespera might have been the first person to ever stop Alex in her happy little tracks. She didn't know what to say for the first time in her life, so she kept her eyes down and shut her trap. Her smile even deflated a bit and she didn't look nearly as animated. She could control herself just fine, she had disciplined her powers more then anyone here knew, and there was nothing wrong about being excited about your first day at school. Alex thought about saying this out loud, but was far to scared to do this.

She was unable to fight this battle with a smile, so Alex was extremely thankful for what Lynn was saving. Lynn was defending her, no matter how peppy and annoying Alex was. Being defended was something Alex wasn't use to, but she still didn't take her eyes off her plate as Lynn spoke on her behalf, hopefully scaring Vesepra away. And Lynn even went out of her way to say that all of Alex's excessive amounts of excitedness wasn't annoying her. And then Lynn turned back to Alex, who smiled, a dim glow surrounding her. “I think we might be getting schedules and room assignments soon! I can't wait to see my room! I've never had my own before!”

Poppy

Thankfully Red let go of her hand, Poppy made sure to to retract it too hastily. She looked up at him expectantly "so now what?" He seemed to be scanning the other tables. I wonder how long he's been here, or if he's new too. Based on what he had to say next she guessed the latter.

"Oh." Was all Poppy initially had to say. Why do I have to make the decision? Normally she was all about being in charge, but right now she was so nerve wracked that she would rather remain put than try either of the options he presented. Going after Nikki would be too weird, so by simple process of elimination there was only one good option.

"I guess I can try my luck with the others again... and maybe Nikki will come back." Poppy wasn't so easily convinced that anyone at the table could relate to her. How long has he known her? Regardless she didn't know anyone other him so it was worth a shot.

Now that she was regaining her composure hunger returned. She was reminded of this by audibly as well shortly after. There was almost no chance Red didn't hear. No real reason to hide it anyways. "Wherever were going to go I should get some more food."

Vespera

It was a surprise to say the least that someone like this girl would stand up for another so quickly. Especially one like Alex. Morticia. That's a new one. An amused smile played across her face as she folded her hands together and focused intently on Lynn. At the same time she could see some of the light leave Alex, both literally and figuratively. In all honesty all she cared about was stopping her blinding light. She should be able to sit at the table without such discomforts.

"It's a shame to hear that. I could refer you to the shrink if you like." Vespera feigned a tone of concern. The girl seemed mighty sure of herself. I wonder if she's really that strong, or just foolish. Her message had the hint of a threat and her demeanor backed it up. One of the things that Vespera didn't take lightly. Most anything else she could play along with, however if she continued along this line she'd better be ready to put up.

Vespera made an exaggerated exhalation. "Ah, I feel so much better now! I'm sure we'll get alone fine and dandy now so long as the light levels stay under control."  That would have been a good point to stop, but Lynn kept on going. So much playing nice. She even had the arrogance to resume her conversation like nothing happened. Never turn your back on an opponent. Looked like she had her first line up for the season, a potential challenge assuming she wasn't just flapping her gums.

So she thinks I'm a wannabe vampire. Perhaps she'd like to experience hematophagy first hand. On second though she probably tastes like shit, damn lowlife. "Is that a promise? If you think you can deliver on it meet me at the arena after class tomorrow. Then you can witness what I do on my free time for yourself." She added a sultry undertone to play off her suggestion and to show that she wasn't taking her too seriously.

The laughter of the other fresh meat didn't concern her. This had been an annual routine for years now. Each new batch had those that felt they were all that. In her mind the sooner they got called on their bullshit the better.

There was nothing more to say to Alex as long as she didn't slip up again.

Jake, Gabe, & Jaska Valos.

Meh. Looks like Madam-Web wants to prove herself a badass, eh?

Well, it's honestly none of their business, and it's about time that they leave. Their table suddenly became everyone else's in less than a minute. And that's terrible. They honestly didn't have any reason to be here.

"Wanna mosey along?" Jake asked Gabe and Jaska.

"Whatever gets us away from this pissing contest waiting to happen." Gabe rolled her sole eye.

All three of them got up from off the table. They were fine with not saying a word... But, Gabe just couldn't help herself.

"Alright, ladies, we'll leave you ladies to your pissing contest. Buh-bye."

Without waiting for a response, Gabe walked off sneering. Followed by Jake and Jaska. They stepped out the door, and started walking down the path.

"So...? What did you all think of that?" Jake asked.

Jaska shrugged

"... It's going to be a looong school year ahead of us." Gabe put her arms behind her head, closing her eyes. "I wish we were sent to a better school. I don't know what irritates me more; the fact that this place is probably full of assholes, or it's a nest for weirdos all over." She topped that off with a shrug.

".... Hm, Red and Nikki seem alright... I don't know about everyone else." Jake shrugged. "Henry's pretty good. Saved us another problem."

Jaska enthusiastically nodded, "I want to eat fish every day!"

"Either way, let's just go find a room. I just want to sit down by...." Gabe stopped in her tracks, coming to a realization, "... For the love of!"

"What is it...?" Jake asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I probably have to share my room with some no name motherf... Jake! I never shared a room with anyone since we were his age." Gabe threw a thumb in the direction of Jaska.

"Yeah, but..." Jake rolled his eyes towards Gabe, "What else did you honestly expect?"

"We're fucking-" She stopped mid sentence, realizing that she cursed in front of Jaska again, "We have money. We should a mansion on this island. It's the most they can do because were were sent here."

"... And you're acting like we were forced to come here."

"What are you talking about? Of course we were bloody forced."

"... Because of you." Jake withdrew from the conversation, finally losing interest in it.

Marching straight for the administration building, they were all quiet.

The one-armed man that passed by Red somewhat confused him. He looked like a bearded mummy, his clothes worn out, seemingly not changed for over a decade, but he could get the smell of shampoo from him. Why on earth would a cave man smell like shampoo? What was even stranger was that he approached Henry, who in turn looked very happy to see him. The man certainly piqued his interest, but right now, he had to focus his attention to Poppy, who was apparently still hungry.

With the Valos family taking off the table the possibility of hanging out with Jake, the second canditate for a social approach was gone. That reduced Red's options to either going to Henry's table or leaving the Cafeteria and head to the Administration room to pick their rooms. He told about the options to Poppy.

"Sure, get something to eat, then we can do whatever you choose (from the above options), or something else, if you do have something in mind..."

Christopher Fox

Chris was sure that Henry's hug would break some of his ribs if he went on with it. He had a hard time with Henry strength when his body was still in his prime, let alone now that he had a fraction of the endurance he had in the past and the fact that Henry was considerably stronger than twelve years ago. He was really happy that Henry accepted him so open-heartidely, even introducing him to his other friends. Not wanting his friend's generous offer go to waste, he replied:

"Dana, Teresa, nice to meet you...By the way, I am technically still a first year, so don't bother treating me as a senior. Due to some..." he paused for a few seconds, "...circumstances, I haven't ever passed my first year..." he said with a low voice, hesitant to reveal the fact that he was the one responsible for the deaths of some students some years ago.

Trying to change the topic, Chris said to Henry:

"I should follow your advice and get something to eat. As far as I remember, the french fries of the Cafeteria were like the World's 8th wonder. Besides, I am going to need all the energy I can get, if I want to challenge you in the Arena again sometime. We were pretty much equal in the past, but, right now, I bet you could beat me with your hands tied to your tail!" he said, trying to joke around.

"I am going to get some food and come back...I will also try the champagne, I always wanted to taste alcohol. Be right back!" he said and headed to get some food.

I just love how everyone left as soon as I got here, Felix mused to himself. Yep, it was gonna be a long year, or however long he'd be here.

After seeing everyone who acknowledged his existence go, he backed away from the table, muttering something unintelligible as he turned his back and walked away. Alone he felt safe. It seemed like having a personality was something everyone else must've hated.

He walked back over to one of the edges of the cafeteria and went back to watching the crowd and fiddling with the items in his pocket. Realizing he would probably be spending a lot of time in the cafeteria, he pulled out his nail file and walked over to the nearest empty table. He decided he was going to carve out a niche for himself. Literally.

Taking the nail file he quickly began to grind a very small slit in the table's edge, planning to work a hole into it a centimeter tall and probably several deep so that he may be able to store something outside his room later on, perhaps something that he'd need to keep private. He kept grinding away, hunched over and staring at the hole for several minutes before deciding he may be spotted. So he changed his posture to something a bit more casual before putting his fingers back to work.

Cordelia Lynn Holmes

Lynn frowned. "Types?" Lynn muttered to herself, expressing a rare moment of visible confusion. Huh. Types. Lynn, see, wasn't very familiar with metahumans as a whole-she'd stayed in her little demesne back home and never poked her head out much. Current events, scientific advancements, so on-she wasn't really up to date with. Lynn could keep you informed of what part of town the cops were focusing on the most, or what crimes any given lowlife had committed in the last week, but things like the discovery of new capabilities of metahumans were far beyond her realm of expertise. She hadn't known exactly what to expect from the other kids here-as evidenced by her utter shock at seeing a lizardman, let alone a doctor lizardman. Judging by the fact that Alex was lighting up more often than Tommy Chong, Lynn put her deductive reasoning skills to work and figured Alex's power had something to do with light-or, maybe, she had an accident with a Christmas tree as a kid or something. No, that was...interesting? Admittedly, it was bit of a challenge to Lynn's ego: she had no doubt that her success in life (depending on how you defined success: Lynn felt her surviving close to two decades of hard living as success) was partially dependent on her little guardian angel...but was it just one "type"? Were the others who had similar, even identical gifts? She had thought hers unique, a beautiful little anomaly. Huh. She missed the next few words of what Alex said ruminating on her sudden possible lack of uniqueness, and figured she could still kick more ass than anyone else with her power anyways. This made her feel significantly better.

"You and me both, honey. They throw math or English or whatever at me, I'll be catching the next boat out of this place."

Mmm. Then she and Edwarda Scissorhands had to go and get into the next Cold War. Cordelia resumed her predatorial stance, watching Vespera coolly and carefully. Lynn sure as hell wasn't about to throw down here-what, with witnesses out the ass and teachers around. And Cordelia wasn't sure how these kids handled disputes, but Lynn operated off a rather brutal code when it come to resolving her issues. If somebody gave you shit, and you sat there and took it (as Alex was doing, staring down at her plate. C'mon girl, look up and stare that bitch down for all she's worth!), it sent a clear message: I can be fucked with without repercussions. Unsurprisingly, Lynn's ferocious, often unwarranted insults and threats were more of a defense mechanism than anything: while her wholesale assholery alienated potential friends, it certainly kept potential threats on their toes. Lynn didn't want trouble-not because she couldn't handle it, but because she figured the girl who'd been in and out of juvy for a couple years wasn't going to be looked upon favorably by the administration here. Admitting that, however, would be a similar weakness. Truth be told, Lynn wasn't going to fight because she wasn't going to half-ass her fight: if she threw down with Vespera, it was ending with Morticia or Lynn being hauled off to the hospital. She didn't believe in knocking your opponent down and helping them back up-when you got someone at a disadvantage, you pummeled the hell out of them. You made their face an unrecognizable swirl of purple and black and broke at least two of their fingers for good measure. Then, anyone who saw what you did knew that you were Not To Be Fucked With.

"I actually dressed the last shrink I had up like my mother and fucked him in the ass, but I appreciate the offer. And we will get along just fine, provided you don't give my friend-" there was a half second pause as Cordelia tried to remember Alex's name, but it was hardly noticeable-"Alex here any trouble. And unfortunately, I won't be meeting you in the, ah, arena." Cordelia smiled, resting her head on her hand and tapping at the teardrop under her eye with her middle finger. "I have nothing I need to prove. To myself or anyone. Including you." Lynn had been through enough similar situations to know when someone was egging her on, and as a general rule, while she'd come out on top (most times-there had been nights were Lynn was pressing ice packs to black eyes and shaking with pain), there was no sense in getting in a conflict you might lose. Was she confident she could ruin Morticia's week? Yeah, damned confident. But she wasn't about to risk it. Not on the second day. The gains in prestige of showing up Gothsucker wasn't significant enough to outweigh the chance that Gothsucker might, you know, actually win. She was weird enough to make Lynn think maybe all she did was hang in the arena, you know? No sense at all in taking that deal. Lynn pushed her plate and slid it over the table to where Vespera was standing. "Do me a favor and put that away for me," Lynn said as she stood up,readjusting her backpack (she'd never taken it off while she sat down). "Never had your own room? Huh. Makes two of us." She turned to leave, keeping her eyes on Alex. "Don't know if you're done, but the atmosphere in here got a little too 'daddy beat the shit out of me too often as a kid and I have violence problems now' for my liking. You're welcome to come with me." It felt weird saying that, because, you know, Lynn actually meant it. Not only the jab at Vespera's presumably abuse-ridden childhood, but also Alex seemed kinda chill. Didn't seem like a burnout, either, which was a nice change of pace from Lynn's normal entourage, and didn't seem like an aristocratic asshat-all of those had left at the beginning of Vespera and Lynn's little showdown. So yeah, Alex was squarely on the list of "Not Bad", everyone else on "Tentatively An Asshole", Vespera squarely on "An Asshole", Suits was "Probably An Asshole, But Can Make Money Off Him", and the walking Komodo Dragon was "Probably an Asshole, but I'm Not Pissing Off A Giant Lizardman".

Poppy

Poppy too noticed the man with one arm. Like the lizard man and tailed boy this was a first. Granted a much more reasonable one. Losing a limb could happen to anyone, if anything it was less likely to happen to a meta, which everyone here was. His clothes were in rags yet the rest of him seemed to have been cleaned up. Her gaze lingered for a few moments more as he passed by.

"Well I did say we could head back over..." It's just that Poppy didn't know who to sit by. Surely the teacher had to be nice, but then again he was a giant lizard. She noticed the embrace the man that went by received from him. Now she didn't know what to think.

"I'll be back." Poppy scampered off to get another plate. Even though Gabe had left her old food was probably cold. Upon returning Poppy tore her biscuit in half and crammed a piece into her mouth. Very unladylike, however it'd hold her over for meantime. Once she swallowed she turned to Red again.

"Where should we sit then? Doesn't matter since people are starting to leave." So long as were not the last ones here. No no, seemed that the lizard was getting out drinks for the ship wreck fellow. They'd almost certainly be around for a while longer.

Vespera

Perfectly relaxed but at the same time sitting tall Vespera bore down Lynn. She peered intently into her eyes for the majority of the time looking slightly away with one at intervals comparable to the average time to blink. Only thing was she didn't blink. Vespera had no trouble keeping her eyes wide for about as long as she wanted to. She tried in in the past simply out of curiosity and ultimately she ended up accidentally closing, a reflex on her human side considering arthropods don't have eyelids. Whether they could remain open constantly was unknown, for a duration this short though it was a effortless.

Putting her enhanced senses and knowledge of organic sciences Vespera monitored the rate of her heart and observed her involuntary actions. Between this and the windows to the soul she had a much better idea of how accurate the disposition Lynn was trying to portray was to how she actually felt. Thus far things were mostly in sync.

"Kinky. I'm sure his screams were delightful." One thing she could give this girl is she had a good sense of humor, if a bit crude. "Then were on the same page then."  From her point of view this whole ordeal still stemmed from miss flashlight head. Were she not so fucking bright they wouldn't having this conversation. Based on the way things were going it was only a matter of time though. Get on with it already. There was really only one thing that mattered at this point. Whether Lynn would put her money where her mouth is, however she was still talking, so Vespera let her finish.

Finally it came out, and it wasn't too unsurprising. "It sure sounded like you did there, guess I was mistaken." Backing down yet at the same time asking for it, how juvenile. In the end it didn't matter much. Failure to accept the challenge made her provocations worth dirt. While it was tempting to shit talk her it wasn't a conclusive victory. That and Vespera still was convinced they'd meet on opposite ends the battlefield, just not tomorrow. She'd save it for then. With her attitude there might not be anything left of her. Nothing of concern so long as she still got her rude awakening.

The moment the plate settled before her Vespera sent it back with an absent minded flick of her fingers. When Lynn had concluded asking her to take care of it was already back over. From an onlookers perspective it might have been amusing. For Vespera it might as well not even happened.

Vespera had her fill of entertainment for the evening and since it didn't look like Nikki was going to come back which left her with little reason to stick around. Maybe I'll find another contender. One with more bite and less bark. On her way out she couldn't resist comment on Lynn's idea of her childhood. "Deary me, I could say the same thing to you. After all I don't recall threatening to blind anyone." Despite the way she was playing it off the remark did make her think about her father. One she never had. Even if Vespera cared it would be impossible to find him. Her power lineage seemed to be exclusively among females and unless her father was a powerful meta he was likely dead anyways. In fact there was a high possibility that her mother or her siblings and herself ate him. If she could remember that far back she would for curiosities sake.

"So long." She waved in the fashion one would to shoo a pest and slipped out of the cafeteria. Time to check who I'm stuck with this year.

Nikki Biyung, & Amanda Daisy Blackmore.

Break time was over. It was about time that Nikki rejoined the conversation, with someone, anyone - Except those assholes at the table. She got up from off the wall, followed by Amanda. It would appear that everyone's leaving, which was good for her, since she didn't do well with others. Maybe Red's back? Well, Nikki was going to find out. She walked up to the door, and opened it slightly, commanding a few flying insects to go search for Red. They didn't have vision like humans did, but Nikki had a good idea of Red's body shape to help her find him. There was someone with a similar body-shape, not too far away, with a younger person. Nikki peaked inside, and looked in the direction. Yeah, Red. Just so she wouldn't lose him, she tagged him on the back with a house fly. She walked up to Red and Poppy, shuffling her feet slightly, "Hey, Red, sorry for leaving before you could come back...." Nikki trailed off, scratching the back of her neck again. "But, honestly, I didn't fit in with them." She nodded her head at the table with Cordelia and the others. She looked at Poppy, "Who's your-"

"Hey, who's Carrot-top right here?" Amanda asked no one as she looked at Poppy with a grin. "She looks like some cartoon character, hilarious." She joked.

Nikki elbowed her in the side, throwing her a look that said 'be nice' before turning back to Poppy. "Hey, my name is Nikki, you are...?"

Alex had continued to keep quiet as Lynn and Vespera battled verbally. Man, if these two could physically fight even half as well as they could verbally, then it would be one hell of a battle. One Alex wouldn't dare be caught in between. Every so often she was tempted to chime in, to defend herself. After all Vespera came over in the first place to confront Alex. But Lynn always had a better response, a better way of saying what was on her mind. It was almost skillful. All Alex could do was whisper under her breath “Bitch” every time Vespera opened her mouth. Soon the conversation seemed to be ending, much to Alex's delight. Lynn had simply dismissed Vespera and turned back to Alex. Alex tried to hide her visible excitement at being invited out of the cafeteria by Lynn.

“Yeah...let's uh...Get out of here.” Gathering up as much balls as Alex could, she pushed her tray out away from her in a similar fashion to Lynn before joining her friend's side.

But then she heard a final quip from Vespera, something that really ticked Alex off. She was rarely angry, and now just happened to be one of those times. Threatening to Blind. Alex contained a growl as she walked away with Lynn. She didn't even care if the comment was directed at her, as far as she knew out of the three of them she was the only one who glowed. Alex, as if forgetting she was in a public setting, began to growl and grumble under her breath. “Fucking bitch...It's a free fucking country and I can't control it.” As soon as she said that Alex's eyes suddenly snapped up to Lynn's face. Oh yeah, she was in company. No need to be rude. Lynn was kind, so there was no need to annoy her with Alex's anger.

“I think I'm heading to the administration building. I want to see who my roommate is!” Her glow seemed to be back, as she was genuinely excited to meet her roommate. “It would be pretty cool if we were roommates, huh.” Alex knew the chances of them being roommates out of everyone in the school would be slim, but it's always nice to hope. Soon, assuming that Lynn went along with Alex (wink wonk Shade), the two arrived at the administration desk. Alex leaned over the desk and smiled at the receptionist. “Hi! I'm Alex Beta, I'm a freshman!” The receptionist had smiled back, as if Alex's joy was contagious, as she handed Alex her room number and roommates name.

Alex knew that she wasn't getting Lynn as a roommate, but she wished she could at least pronounce the name on the paper in her hands. “Ass...lin...Asslin? Aislin...Rose.” Alex tried to force the name off her tounge, hopefully her roommate would introduce herself later. Alex turned to Lynn with a smile. “So who's your roommate?”

Mmm, Alex had a little fire in her. Not, granted, as much as Lynn, who was pretty much entirely comprised of "fire", but still an amount she wouldn't have guessed at first. Yeah, Lynn thought she and Alex were going to get along okay. She felt a sort of strange responsibility for her. While judging from her features, Alex looked to be about her age, her energy and youth made her seem younger. Brought back memories of that orphanage, may-it-burn-in-hell. Much as she hated the place itself, the kids within it were alright. She'd tried to check in on them occasionally, but...

Well, there's a time in your life when you realize you're better off to your friends if you're not in their lives anymore, and it got made pretty clearly when the eight and nine year olds asked why Delly had that tattoo under her eye.

Alex was cursing, wooh. Immediately upon leaving the building (and promptly forgetting about Morticia), Lynn pulled out a cigarette and lit up, holding it in her teeth as she tucked the lighter and pack of cigarettes back within her jacket, away from potential bag-checkers. Any of the Academy's staff tried to pat her down, she'd be calling the ACLU about five minutes later. This place might've had people who were like walking nukes in terms of power, but no matter how strong you were, the bureaucracy of America could fuck you up with impunity. The former state ward was pretty well-versed with that law of the urban jungle. The warm air was new to Lynn, who was used to good weather in Chicago, but this was...something else. Air felt different. Lynn couldn't put her finger on it.

"Let it out, baby doll," Lynn murmured around the cigarette as Alex cursed out Vespera. It was cynical, but the more rage Alex had against the others, the more on Lynn's side she was by default. Lynn liked the girl, genuinely, but it nevertheless worked to her advantage. The comfortable weight of her switchblade and brass knuckle (she had only the one, which she held in her off-hand whilst she wielded the blade in the other) against her skin was reassuring. She'd taped anything really illegal to her person, carefully layering on her clothes to avoid undue suspicion. More suspicion. It wasn't really undue.

"Admin building it is. I have a sinking feeling I will be visiting there a lot more throughout the year. Or at least wherever the hell that detention facility is." As they approached the admin facility, Lynn dropped her cigarette on the ground and crushed it with her sneaker, brushing it off the path casually. Littering was almost as cool as smoking."Yeah, us as roomies would work alright. Might, ah, prove..." Lynn was trying to think of a way to explain how that would make Alex something legal experts call "an accomplice" in such a way that wouldn't scare her off. She realized there really wasn't one. Man, talking to functioning members of society was harder than Lynn remembered. "Never mind, that'd be tight. Lynn grabbed the paper from the receptionist, accepting it with a grunt, and eyed her own paper while Alex read her roommate's name. "Ass Lynn? Well, at least half the name's pretty. Maybe they just call her that 'cause she's got curves, who knows." Lynn talked for a couple seconds to cover the fact she wasn't the world's best reader, and it took her a minute to locate her roommate's name. "Gabriella Valos. Valos. Valos sound kinda Mexican to you?"

Cordelia closed her eyes, cursing. "Damnit. I'm with that chick wearing the white leather suit. Unless there's another Hispanic chick here, in which case, hey, more evidence I'm racist." Lynn folded up the paper with surprising gingerness and tucked it into the side pocket of her bag, figuring there was probably some relatively useful information in there. She'd read through the whole thing later, alone, when she could sound everything out without being mocked. "Eh, well, as long as you're not paired up with that Goth bitch you should be alright. You know where the dorms are?"

Red Winston

(Since True Night said she would probably not post soon, I am going on with the introductions)

Red was about to tell Poppy that it would be a good idea to go to the Administration Room and pick their rooms, since students were already leaving the Cafeteria and most probably heading there and it would be tiring if they headed there and there was already a crowd. His plans, however, were once again cancelled, because Nikki and Amanda returned. Red was glad to see Nikki, a thing he actively showed with a grin, as he valued her both as a trusted associate in the Academy and as a person who could get along with Nikki, so that they can help each other adapt to their new way of life. Amanda, of course, would once again find a way to trouble his well-meaning plan, by blurting an insulting comment against Poppy. Red was a straightforward person himself, but only doing so if asked for his opinion, never crossing the line and just saying out loud whatever came to his mind. That's why he couldn't cope with Amanda. The last thing he wanted now was Poppy feeling disheartened because of her and judging Nikki because of her cousin's actions.

He laughed at Amanda's comment, trying to turn the insult into an innocent joke.

"Amanda, you little teaser! Poppy here might think you are a bad fella if you go with your jokes right from the get-go! But am I pleased to meet you!" he said and approached her, putting both his hands on her shoulders.

He approached the side of the face that wasn't next to Nikki and whispered in a cold tone, his smile dissappearing:

"I won't do you the favor of insutling you, because that's what you crave for, attention. Instead, I will sincerely ask you to be polite just once, because not everyone can stand your humiliating comments."

He backed off, his smile returning as soon as his face could be seen by the other two and hoped that Amanda would understand that the situation needed subtlety. He turned to Nikki, this time his smile being sincere. He touched her hand with both of his own, once again not realizing that she might misinterpret his actions and said with an unintended innuendo:

"I am glad to see you again, Nikki! I was looking forward to seeing you again (so that she could meet Poppy and be friends)!"

Then, he realized he hasn't properly introduced the two parties.

"Oh, excuse my rudeness...Poppy, this is Nikki, the one I was telling you so much about (that she would be a good friend for her) and the other girl is her cousin, Amanda! Nikki, Amanda, this is Poppy, a nice person I met in the Cafeteria earlier! I was about to tell Poppy to go to the Administration building, to find who are roommates will be. Maybe we could all go together?

Christopher Fox

Christopher returned with a small plate with little food. He couldn't eat too much, his appetite growing smaller because of his body condition. Hopefully, when he gained some weight, he would be able to eat some more.

"The lady in the Cafeteria didn't seem to recognise me, but she is the same as she was twelve years ago. She is either too old to change, or she is a Spatial user..." he joked.

He sat in the table, taking the first bite of normal food after twelve years. He was never fond of gastronomy, but right now, he elevated it into a God-sent science in his brain. His table manners was one of the few things that didn't change over the years and would possibly never change, as they were something he learned from his foster family. It made him wonder if everyone was okay back home. He had to go pick any letters he had received in the past years and see if they have contacted him and he was pretty much sure they had.

He thought of picking a conversation with Dana and Teresa.

"Is anyone of you a first year? It will be good to know who my classmates will be..."

That reminded him that, by school procedure, he also had to share a room with another person, thus, before any of the girls would answer, he also asked Henry:

"By the way, from your reaction, you didn't know I would be coming back. But being a teacher, you would know most of the students of the Academy, with the exception of the first years. So, by process of elimination, who could be my possible roommates?"

Morrison blinked a few times realizing he had spaced out for a little while standing in the middle of the cafeteria. That was a bit awkward, oh well. He noticed there was less general noise and figured some of the other returning students had already moved on to the admin building for room assignments. It occurred to him that it might be a good idea to move on and see who he was going to get paired with if anyone at all, either way was fine with him. The rooming was always interesting to say the least because there were generally quite a few conflicts between roommates right off the bat or at least a few with most of them. Trying to sleep with them having at it a couple of rooms over was a pain but most of the others tended to quiet down after a week or two, but he would just have to see this year.

He made his way over towards the admin building to get his information and figure the rest of the arrangements out. If anything the school was usually good about putting people together though there had been flops in the past including one with him, he guessed the person just had a problem with him for reasons unknown. It had been awhile since then and several better roommates made up for it over time which made him feel pretty good about how they evaluated the reactions. There were a few students ahead of him when he got to the admin building's door which he had to wait for before heading in himself.

Morrison got up to the desk and without more than some small talk was handed his room key as well as the name card for his roommate, which was in braille to simplify things for him, which caused his smile to dim slightly simply out of reputation but he wasn't one to judge someone he never actually talked to. The lapse of his smiled ended about a second later and he moved off so other people could get they're info without him standing in the way. He moved off and almost immediately started hearing the other students in the lobby either complaining or happily chatting about the boarding situation. It took him a moment to decide but he wanted to wait there for a few and maybe catch up with some other return students, maybe hear who they ended up with if it was good or bad. Though he was open if anyone started talking to him new or not it didn't entirely matter to the Cajun.

Henry sat down next to Dana when Chris walked away. He would have to fill them in on exactly what happened so many years ago. "Chris is an old friend of mine, we got along great. He's about a year older than I am, but we came to the island on the same boat." He began, scratching the scales on his chin in contemplation. His memory of that time was a bit foggy, but he was known for having good memory. He wouldn't live that down. "There was an accident at the shipwreck and a lot of people..." he said, making a motion with his hand to help Dana and Theresa fill in the blank. "He had caused it. I was in it too. He was put in the detention center, at least, that's what I was told, and I guess he escaped, or his ban was finally lifted. All I knew was he was still on the island. I never knew when he would come back."

He took a moment to look over at the old table where it seemed that Vespera and Lynn were having a pissing match. He signed. Vespera always did this with the new kids. It was annoying, but comical for an onlooker like himself. He would have to talk to her at some point and make sure she didn't challenge a new kid right off the bat again. They probably didn't know how to control their powers properly, and if they were very powerful, they could end up hurting Vespera and themselves, and potentially everyone onlooking depending on their capability. He didn't know what Lynn could do, and neither could Vespera. He returned his attention to his own table when Chris returned to answer his question. "Well," he began, contemplating and scratching his chin again. He noticed he had made a habit out of that. Always self aware. "Lets go through your status... Hm..." Henry began. "You're a returning student, you're in your early twenties, and you're male. If you would've come back last year, you would've probably been paired with me. But off the top of my head, the only person I can think off that's all of those things is Valjean Vaseal. If he ever annoys you, tell me and I'll kick his ass." Henry said, half joking, half serious. He suddenly had an idea for Dana and Theresa.

"Girls, most of the students here are paired with a person of their own age group. Theresa, since you're pretty young, you'll probably be paired with someone who's also your age. Same goes for you, Dana." He said, grinning. He did that a lot. "I'm not too familiar with the girls that arent around my age, so you girls know about as much as I do. Why dont we head down to the admin building and get your rooms, when you're done of course, Chris." the great lizard said, not wanting to leave his friend behind. He was friends with all the crips. "I'll wheel Dana this time so you can rest your arms, Theresa."

Sam Clarke was not one for rules. He mostly dozed off during President Dellamorte's speech, and spent his time looking around at his new comrades and taking mental notes of any hot girls or tough-looking dudes that he should make friends with. He saw several interesting people in the room: a one-eyed Hispanic-looking girl, a large, tank-like kid wearing a denim jacket, a cute pale brunette with short hair, a girl with bright pink hair, another rather attractive girl wearing by far the baggiest hoodie he'd ever seen- this was quite the cast. He spent the rest of the meeting staring at the brunette, who looked more attractive to him the more he looked at her, and finally bolted out of his seat as soon as the assembly was over.

He made a beeline to the doors, and walked outside once more into the island's oppressive humidity. It really ticked him off that the recruiters hadn't told him that they were taking him to Jurassic Park. He unzipped his jacket, revealing a white Bad Company concert tee. He began to walk around the campus, scanning around for that cute brunette and some of the tougher-looking customers that he saw in the meeting; he saw a few of them, but it wasn't Sam's style to initiate the interaction. He would get them to come to him. He pulled a cigarette out of his pocket, as well as the metal lighter, and, gripping them in his left hand, whipped off his jacket and threw it across his right shoulder to prevent himself from dying of heat stroke. He rather clumsily lit the cigarette and, sticking it in the corner of his mouth, returned the lighter into a pocket of his faded jeans. He blew a puff of smoke into the air and took a moment to look around at where he was; this place was hot as Hell, but it sure was pretty. For a boy accustomed to scenic views of rusted-out trashcans and vacant lots filled with roadside litter, this was paradise.
