Halfway through Deborah's advice Aislin got hit in the face with the best mental image ever. Deborah in badass dreads and a doobie in her hand, speaking with a stonerly accent: You should lay off the drugs, maaaann.
Shh, this is suppose to be like, a serious moment. Aislin play-scolded herself, hiding her bubbling laughter behind a cough. She waited until she thought she could contain her silliness, then met her advisor's gaze. "Shit, you know, you're probably right. I won't use it during class hours."
She smiled at Shannon's comment. "Move on, indeed. If only I'd known about the Academy sooner, I'd have loved growing up in such a diverse, and so far quite inviting, environment. Plus they have no such thing as winter here, right?"
"How about you make it look like their utensils are attacking them? That'd be one surprise." Deborah said.
Aislin tilted her head to the side, thinking about it. Something clicked, and the mischievous look was back in her eyes. "Yes, yes! That would work perfectly. We can make that work, give them a 'lil scare too."
As Shannon revealed her own ability, Aislin couldn't help but romanticize it with visions of dancing cloth, twirling ribbons and flowing dresses making themselves. It almost reminded her of Cinderella, just no mice holding buttons the size of their head. "That's perfect for a fashionista like you, I'd love to see you make something one of these days. Mm, I can't think of any ideas either, but I know cloth manipulation would work awesomely if we had more time to plan."
Aislin watched the targeted table a little longer, feeling a twist in her gut. "Mm, after a second look, I don't know if these kids are in the mood for a prank. It looks like there's some tension over there. Plus quite a few have up and gone. But hey," She grinned again, glancing excitedly at Shannon and Deborah. "Now that I know you guys are interested, we can pull something extraordinary later this year with a mix of badass abilities. I think it'd be super fun, especially with your expertise."
She poked at the last remaining bits of lettuce and tomato on her plate, inwardly congratulating herself on getting her veggie on. Healthy food was her preference, but with the munchies it was easy to fill up on a bowl of candy. Bowl of anything, really. With her hunger no longer in the way she briefly considered her future. The idea of roommates played at the back of her mind, filling her with a slight nag to go to the Administration building soon. There's no rush, 'Curiosity'. Aislin rolled her eyes at herself.
"So," Aislin furrowed her brows. "I'm puzzled. Are return students already set-up? Like, you guys know who you'll be sharing your dorm with and everything?"
