Its kinda funny. I think Ghost in the Shell is one of the best most realistic sci-fi show/movie I've seen. And its an anime.

Well a few things here. I have acknowledge that this is not to my taste and that I do not care one way or another if other people enjoy anime. I am not condoning people who like different things than I myself do, I am simply stating as requested of me, my reasons for disliking anime style and ergo why I would not be joining this game. If you chose to take this as some sort of personal attack than I am sorry but that is hardly my fault.

I could give less of a dam if people watch and play anime style games. I simply have no desire to participate. As for this game in particular I was not aware it was a comedy, because how I have fun is by taking things seriously. It helps with immersion on my end. Now as a result I have a hard time taking anime seriously so I dislike it. I am not asking you to like this, Or even care for that matter. But people do have to live with it. Just like I happily live with other peoples positive opinions about anime. Many of which are friends that force me to watch episodes of animes they think I might enjoy in an effort to get me hooked. So far it is unsuccessful.

So yes I may generalize anime's a bit with this rant and criticize them, But there is no need to start throwing insults simply because you read something you didn't like. My explanation was requested, or at the very least clarified. That is all. It is a personal opinion on my reasons for dislike of this genre and treat it as such, not a whole scale attack against all people anime everywhere. Anything else taken from this little blurb is out of my hands, and becomes a personal issue on the other end. I apologize for any confusion truly but it is a personal opinion. Take it as such. All I did was critize the genre's (seemingly to me) faults. Not the people in this thread.

This is probably the last time I will visit this thread as well. So keep that in mind before drafting up a response.

Anime is not a genre. It's an animation style. And why do you think this is Comedy all of a sudden? You did not read my post properly that is clear.

And lastly allow me to be overexplicit - I don't care about an opinion lacking substance for being the way it is. But i do care about the attitude of the one presenting it.
So just get the hint that im telling you to step down and learn some humility before you spill it out next time. That way people like me won't bash on you.

Actually OrangInk, I've been meaning to ask, just out of curiosity, That signature banner of yours, ...Is that your work? No real reason for asking, just, drawn signature + the name, OrangeInk, ...Easy to make the connection.

Also, out of curiosity, How far back into said old guild did you join? I ask this because I too was there during the old Guild. (Didn't make the Old Guild name solely because I didn't see the need to, since my name's the same in both cases) ...And maybe because I joined in 2011, or because I was in the casual area of this place later on down the road before the Old place got...errm, 'decommissioned' for lack of a better word, but I've seen the anime fans all over the place even back then.

I am interested and I have to agree with a lot of the opinions expressed about anime role plays but I won't say that I can't stomach some anime incorporated into an rp. But one thing that bothers me to no end is when people have all three types of images for characters. As a GM I always say one or a description. So I will likely end up using a type of image similar to majority, whatever that may be if I stay. :)

Why am I not surprised there's someone who doesn't approve of me not being picky with images. XD

Not that I don't know why that could annoy someone though. It must be mentally confusing to have some be Real Photos, and some be Anime characters, and some be simply western-style cartooning. Of course, taking the majority's type of image is probably a good call. Me? I simply suggest to pick whatever fits your character best, since, after all, that is the point of using images in the first place, is it not?

Still, I do hope you stick around and enjoy. :D

I do, yes why? I mean I honestly don't see any problem with it. I could see how the whole appearance thing would throw people off but honestly, who'd want to have to use real picture that AREN'T celebs or some vaguely famous person? As opposed to finding an art that was original?

But really, reading the conversation of the last few pages. I have nothing against anime pictures for appearance samples. However, it gets wacky when people want to be half demons, angels and so on. Frankly, I have a pic I wanted to use, but its intimidating to consider it with so many neigh-sayers. ^^;

So I am assuming that aliens are a thing in this setting? 'Cause if there is than I already have an idea for a character.
