If we've got basically standard earth atmosphere, those mountaintop residences should not exceed 5090 m (16700 feet) in height above sea level. Thats the Earth limit for where higher up there is no possibility for growing/raising food. Even then, its hard. Just curious about that kingdom... What made them establish a trade emporium? Wouldn't such make more sense in a society near rivers or major roads?

And for the most part, they don't raise their own food. Outer mountain-towns have farms, but the cities don't bother. It's 'below' them, both figuratively, metaphorically, and literally.

You probably should have made that a little more clear, considering the scenario, which it might have been if your post had held more material. Granted, Bing didn't have any grounds for that takeover either since he hadn't participated in any of the journey (even if you had been on the same boat).

Yeah i feel bings post was kinda short for having missed so much. No one indicated him during the boat ride i think everyone assumed he was on his own boat.

Chukkles first post about the boat didnt really indicate what boat he was on, but he also didnt say anything to you and Bor didnt really talk during a long sequence of events
its a bit awkward to say he's been there the whole time

Well... Awkward it is. I think he was interested, but he's a man of actions and not words.

Perhaps you can say he followed behind them in his own boat, and overheard one or two things, so he meets up with them in the forest.
With a bit of tweaking to how you meet them i think it would be fine

Sure, followed them in his boat, overheard them, met up with them and was attacked for being a spy.

We're rebuilding the Inner City now. It'll have tiered terraces, so technically it'll be flat, but those Oragossi may have been powerful, but not enough to flatten it completely. So far we've flattened a third of the inner city and we've got five terrace levels and a total height difference of 150m. One advantage of this is that we'll be able to make the Old Kingdom Foundations more natural-looking.

@WilsonTurner: We didn't see your question till now. We're using Sketchup.

@Ellri, don't feel the need to follow my word on this to the letter, since you're the one doing the designing. As long as you don't leave some drastic structural vulnerability.

This is Ellri we're talking about. Likely they are more likely to make it really hard for their own invading forces and stuff up their own plan.

You mean we should remove that tunnel leading to right under the inner walls, Sparks?

Nah, we haven't added such.

we've been messing a bit with your numbers. Most of the walls are about ten meters taller than the 50 feet, as we had a lot of terrain to cover. It was either that or a lot of towers to keep it even.

We flattened the inner walls today, adding four more towers and finished all the terraces. We've not yet decided how the people would move between the terraces, though. Maybe someone could RP in a sensible way of doing that? We rather doubt they regularly use rope to scale 50m vertical faces.

Anyways, the current appearance is as such:

Full size

Full size

Full size

some numbers:
Inner city ground area: 0.988209 kmĀ² (basically 1 square kilometer)
Terrace count: 17
Lowest to highest terrace height: 350m

Inner walls towers: 12
Fortress towers: 8
