The real calling card is a ferret.

I am obsessed with them, utterly. The moment I have a pet friendly apartment, I'm getting one.

Read below for the why on... Delays?

@Peepz & Deadlines: Okay, lets make this clear, once, from the top please.
--I work full time graveyard shift. Sometimes overtime where necessary.
--I take public transportation because car insurance is hella expensive.
--I have IRL responsibilities other than existing, which are often too personal to disclose on the Internet.
--I have a mental disorder, to top it all off.

Sometimes, or hell often, I will fail to meet a deadline for something as minor as an individual thread on Roleplayer Guild. My players often joke that if I say I'm going to post on the 10th it'll be the 12th or the 13th. Which isn't inaccurate honestly. When I do I at least try to be polite enough to give a reason why. Sometimes if it's especially lengthy stuff I'll screencap and share it to show I am doing it: In pieces.

Oh, I wasn't complaining about your absence,or lack of speedt response, if that's your impression. And if I came across like that, I apologize. I realize that the order of business goes: RL, RP, and then nonRP.

Oh man, you know what I hate, guys? When dense mother fuckers can't even get canon facts right. Ones stated in plain text. Available at any time.

Compounded if their character just can't seem to get certain names right. Like the name of their queen, or their homeland, or the names of people around them.

@ delay stuff, I dunno. I get that real life issues can get in the way and it trumps that of rps, but it's still really frigging annoying when someone says they'll make a post by a certain date or whatever, and then don't. Or they make promises to post again and again in an extended period of time and then just... don't. I'd rather an rp had a clear posting frequency displayed that every player including the GM strived to achieve or that it was made clear from the outset from the posting requirements, expectations and availability of players are before the rp starts. Sure, some players may be impatient, but some people also expect others to be ridiculously patient to absurd lengths of time. I was once in an rp where the GM vanished for periods of a month to six months, or one player would post twice a year. Shit was ridiculous and not really surprising I would think that I would choose to eventually quit.

You'll never catch me fanning flames, nor will you catch me publicly dragging people's names through the dirt. Just gonna turn around and walk away. *walks off into the sunset,*

That said, people are stupid and so should characters be. Characters that are perfectly accurate with grammar in speech and who never are somehow mistaken bug me.

I always used to notice that on t.v. myself. I wondered why they never showed anyone slipping up in their speech or having misunderstandings. But really, if people went around making mistakes like that on t.v. or even in literature, I think it would really kill any sense of tension and drama. I can understand an explicitly ignorant character might forget the name of someone important, but peppering content with little mistakes just to be realistic would probably bug me more than their absence.

Universal rule of fiction: Limited space to covey a hundred concepts. It's the same reason characters never use the bathroom, and any shower scenes or similar are there purely for character exposition or artistic liberalism, etc. The first thing to get summarily executed for the sake of space is the mundane, little things few would ever notice.

For instance: There are very few post apocalypse stories (though especially zombie ones) that openly ackowledge that after one year, all gasoline would be useless, and after five or less, so would most medicine. In fact, pretty much anything than good old alcohol and bandages would be done. Plastics would be fucked after twenty years or so. Kiss any non-brick or stone or steel building goodbye after 50.

Suspension of disbelief is a potent tool for this reason.

I've had plenty of characters do very mundane things. Especially going to the bathroom, what with the epic example of 'And then he pissed in darkness.'

In fairness, it bugs me in general fiction anyway. I think I notice it more in RPs because (outside collaborative posts), dialogues are almost impossible, so I think people compensate by almost writing in mini-monologues, as opposed to how people I know talk to one another.

"Alright?" said Jig.
"Alright?" said Jig's Mate.
