I'm with the article commenters on this one. Yeah they found some DNA on a shawl but it really seems to me like there'd be a lot of doubt as to whether or not said DNA analysis is really conclusive as to who the Ripper is...

Also,

Am I going insane or is anyone else noticing the text getting slightly lighter for just a split-second once every like 3-4 seconds?

This was exactly my reaction.

It drives me a bit crazy that people are just accepting this news as indisputable proof that the case is now solved and they're not crosschecking sources or anything. While Aaron Kosminsky was definitely a very plausible choice for a culprit, this isn't definitive proof by that he was (beyond a shadow of any doubt) the actual Ripper.

People need to keep sciencing kthnx.

Dude nobody is going to find conclusive proof over 100 years after the incident, and considering it's the daily mail, that should leave yoself thinking "holy fuck this isn't important", as nothing what those guys say is right, infact - it's probably the opposite if they say so.

In saying that however, this shouldn't be outright shot down, it should be peer reviewed.
