Asuras could perhaps feed him vague hints of plot twists to come from time to time? Honest, seems rather feasible to me.

XD Dear gods, I just launched what must be the most absurd and ridiculous roleplay I've ever contemplated...

@Asuras: Edits are done. As for Precognition: Matthew will do it whenever you say he can, and can only see what you want him to see. Vague symbols, flashing images, anything that can throw him off balance for a moment like its use always does to him. So, basically what Cryptiic said.

Question: It's 2182. Any tech advancements in the last 168 years?

Moderately better than the best humans of each characteristic. IE slightly better than the fastest human, slightly stronger than the strongest one... With such a range of abilities, you can't be having levels in each that exceed those of individuals who work single powers alone.

If you don't mind me saying, I actually find flying bricks to be relatively well balanced. I mean, sure, in a direct confrontation they might be a little stronger and more durable, but that really shouldn't pose too much of a problem for other people as long as they aren't invincible. I mean, just using the first examples to pop in my head, an electrokinetic could probably knock them out using a sufficiently high voltage, and a person like Kalk could easily cause them significant damage. Heck, even Cormac could probably disable one using a small high-powered dazzler/acoustic cannon. Not to mention what someone like Teeth/Desmond might do to them... They might be immune to kinetic energy and a few other forms of damage, but many things still work quite well on them, including most forms of energy weapons.

The technology is pretty advanced, even for a "realistically assumed" year of 2182. The presence of "super-mind" heroes and villains before their subjugation allowed for an accelerated development of technology in nearly all fields; though military tech received the brunt of it for obvious reasons. However this surge in speed has since halted, and is now progressing at "human velocities". Commercial, private, and civilian-owned space travel is wide-spread. Advances in medicine allows for a rather unfortunate birth:death rate in the favor of rampant overpopulation. Human beings survive well into 200 years old, thankfully so considering immortality has been achieved but strictly banned. Quantum computing allows for AI, though the viability of rampant AI is impossible given proper programming protocol. Laser beams. Pew pew. Though kinetic weapons are still preferred.

Spaceship propulsion varies, with the more advanced ones utilizing Diametric Drives for yaw and pitch, and quantum vacuum plasma propulsion for forward and reverse movement. Less expensive (read: civilian-owned) use quantum vacuum propulsion alone for all directional movement.Space colonies extend well into the outer reaches of the solar system, and several interstellar expeditions have been sent off, though none have reached their destination point yet. Mars has been terraformed into one with an atmosphere, though still requires the wearing of breathing apparatuses due to the thinner air outside. Most space colonies orbit around the gas giants, utilizing the minerals found in their rings to fuel expansion.Graviton manipulation allows for the creation of artificial gravity in space without the need for centrifugal forces.

Politics with space colonies ultimately breaks down into corporations brawling with one another. Most, if not all significantly sized space stations are owned by megacorporations, though some are owned by governments (who cannot afford such large establishments on their own). If you live on a corporate-owned station, you are eithera) A worker for the company or one of its many smaller variantsb) Richc) One of the many civilians given an opportunity to live there by way of lottery.

Automated space colonies exist generally, again, around the gas giants. They act as AI-controlled mining stations with only a few human hands to fix things that break down.

Hope that answers your questions.

Cool. So, where's the Second Academy at? What's happening currently in the IC (assuming we're acceptados)? Also, how has anyone important not already figured out the parallels between racism and the bigotry against metahumans? Does X-Men not get published around here?

Any cool history happen in those 168 years?

Asuras said "Of what was revealed to the students by staff, the most interesting point was that the academy was located in space, owned by a corporation facilitating its operations. Floating amid the inner ring of the solar system's asteroid belt, it was far and away from the traffic of other stations in the system..."

(Yes, I am excessively lazy tonight... XD)

And I'm afraid you'll have to wait for Asuras to respond for the history...

What I meant by the first question: What are the players doing right now, so that I don't get lost catching up? Also, cool: space station school.

Pretty much everyone is grouping up and we just got introduced to our area, Tower 89F.

So, who's doing what? Who's talking to who?

Actually, I'll just read the IC when I have more time. It's not even 50 posts; I'll catch up eventually.

Hrm... I'd advise you to at least browse through the thread for a basic understanding of what happened, but basically, in short bullet points:

+ Students get picked up at their home by bus.
+ Bus drives them to launching station.
+ Students go through a basic scanner without much trouble, then board the designated spacecraft. (Except for Cormac, since he was carrying all the suspicious items ever.)
+ Spacecraft departs.
+ Journey lasts several hours. Some sleep, some stare out the window, some socialise.
+ They arrive at space station. Get their luggage.
+ They are brought to a large elevator room which looks a lot like a movie theater. It begins to rise.
+ Most students begin socialising.

+ The elevator stops and a squadron of intimidating looking men in power armour carrying rifles come.
+ They are soon joined by a woman in combat fatigues with a cape over one shoulder, clearly their general.
+ She gives a breaking speech, clarifying that this station is more a prison than a school.
+ She and the soldiers leave, and the elevator continues its ascent.

+ Students continue socialising, with varying degrees of calmness, eventually forming into groups for the most part.
+ Elevator arrives at their containment area, Tower 89F.
+ The veteran residents of said tower welcome them with a discipline reminiscent of a pack of feral apes on hallucinogens.

(Plus a whole bunch of character development, introduction, wonderful scenery description, potential plot points, etc... <sarcasm> But that's not very important.. :P </sarcasm>)

Edit: Oh, and for a little more depth in terms of who interacted with whom:

Cryptiic said
Basically, the students simply began forming into various groups:
+ March began interacting with Cormac, and was subsequently joined after the speech by Kirill (who had been watching silently until then), Rhys and Lucas. They were followed shortly afterward by Shane and Madeline (the character with the shoulder cape that Asuras mentioned earlier).
+ Randal got into a brief verbal disagreement with Isabelle, who then went on to begin a conversation with Lucas' sister, Sophie.
+ Brook and Kalk are still slowly striking up a conversation, and have yet to make their post in response to the speech.
+ Barbara is still on her own.
+ Nikki and Michael approached Lukas, and are about to start a conversation.
+ Finally, Eva and Desmond got acquainted.

So yeah, interesting stuff... :D

True, but I don't believe it was stated that kinetic energy specifically was what is being resisted, just that currently bullets cause bruises instead of holes and profuse bleeding. Superman-like toughness inevitably leads towards being resistant to nearly everything, electricity, acoustics, and lasers included. :p

In any case, they're accepted. Should probably organize the CS a little though; it's difficult to follow.

You're the GM, you get to decide that sort of things... XD
Besides, how many times was superman knocked down by things which reasonably shouldn't have hurt him just for the sake of plot convenience? :P

Puhleeaze do not criticize my short post. I don't have a standard post size so they're usually based on how much stuff I need to say.

In which case, not a lot. Unless I go through the troubles of re-enacting all the introductions which Crypty took the liberty of doing.

Crypty reminds me of Cormac.
