"Your beloved will vanish like wildfire."
NameThaneAge26GenderMaleSpecies/RaceCursed HumanPowersSilence - One of Thane's greatest advantages in general is the silence he gathers around him. Thane is deceptively quiet when he moves, his instincts naturally making him travel without a sound. This silence also brings Thane at his fullest when he needs to think, meditate, devise a quick assassination plan, or mentally prepare himself for an outright assault.Rage - While his silence makes him a prominent danger as an assassin, in direct head-to-head combat, Thane excels in facing his opponents directly. He is even more dangerous to face, however, when he is enraged. Not only is he able to still concentrate properly in his anger, but his overall endurance and stamina can increase drastically. Even without Rage, Thane is still a challenging opponent to fight.Hellfire - Thane is able to cast and manipulate the fires of Hell, often times using them in direct combat. Any fire-based attack that hits him automatically kicks his next attack's striking power up a notch. Rage can influence the intensity of the fire, but is not necessarily used to make him dangerous.Arsenal - Thane has an arsenal of many weapons, his most iconic ones being his spear and his hellish katana, Onibato.Master of Martial Arts - Thane has mastered knowledge in all disciplines of martial arts. Thane is an expert in using his blades, his kunais, the rest of his equipment, as well as fighting unarmed. Thane is able to pinpoint vital areas of the human body and can strike them to deal critical damage in each of his attacks.Speed - Thane is incredibly fast and boasts the ability to detect disturbances in even the most silent of assassins. His speed and sheer power combined molds him into a strengthened warrior capable of wiping out legions of angelic soldiers within mere minutes.Duelist - Thane excels at dueling, but can be useful when working with others. This is mainly due to the large array of tools he has.AbilitiesWarp Point - One of Thane's strangest abilities. Thane empowers one of his sharp ninja stars, destroying its lethality and instead adding magic into it. He then throws the harmless, enchanted ninja star, marking a target, and creates a Warp Point, leaving a small, undying dinge of fire at the target location. Warp Points must be made onto the surface of any object. After casting a Warp Point, Thane can either create a portal that is linked to another Warp Point, or warps the marked target to a designated Point. (This is pretty complex because Thane has full control over the Warp Points) There can be a total of four Warp Points total, and the cooldown is very low.
Warp Point works on living creatures as well, oftentimes confusing a target whenever he suddenly pops out of a person. However, Thane cannot use his arsenal for a few seconds during his travel through the portals or when he repositions his enemy, meaning that he cannot instantly kill a target by just using this ability.
Blazing Reap - Thane throws a ball of blue fire at a target. If the target is hit, he will be granted a temporary boost of physical and magic powers for thirty minutes. Thane can constantly use these fires without any cooldowns. The maximum amount of extra power he can gain is around twenty-five successful hits with the blue fire.Twisted Metal - Thane summons short scimitars made in Hell's mighty forges, letting chains connected to them wrap around his arm. He then swings these blades down with all of his might, causing a small area in front of the impact produce a moving wall of fire. This small wall of fire damages any target that moves through it, but does not catch them on fire. It also blocks projectiles, though it will break when it comes into contact against powerful ones. The wall continues moving slowly before disappearing into nothingness.
This particular ability gives Thane the ability to fight extremely aggressively, and is more used for its sheer power rather than as a defensive ability. It has around a cooldown of around twenty seconds.
Hell Above The Water - Thane screams for vengeance, gathering his ability to summon and manipulate Hellfire. He then selects a small target location before letting a huge pillar of Hellfire come out. Any target hit by the fire is dealt moderate damage over time until five seconds pass. As long as the fire is on a target, defensive and healing spells cannot be cast on them to remove it. The cooldown for this ability is around forty seconds.Flaming Skull - A basic ability Thane uses frequently in heated battles. Thane summons and launches a flaming skull at a target. When cast into the air for one second, the skull automatically locks onto a target, relentlessly following a target at a collectively increasing speed until it is destroyed or makes physical contact with what it's following. Thane is able to use three skulls consecutively before a cooldown of fifteen seconds begins.
While the skulls tend to hit its target in many circumstances, they are fairly weak and slightly damage whatever it hits. Frequent blows dealt by the skull, however, can eventually lead up to devastating bruises and injuries. As a long-ranged projectile, the skulls can become dangerously fast, but can never cross the line of being able to deal incredible damage. They do not catch its targets on fire.
Spear - One of Thane's most frequently used abilities, and one of his most dangerous ones. Thane sends out a rope with a Kunai tied to the end of it, throwing it violently at a straight, thin line at an incredibly fast speed. If he catches his target, Thane is able to either throw aside the foe, or he can harshly pull the opponent towards him. Thane is able to use Spear again if he did not initially miss his target. If he misses, Thane is unable to cast Spear for around ten seconds, and the rope is instantly pulled back to his arm.
This ability's low punishment rate and cooldown promotes Thane in aggressive fighting styles, as well as defensive ones. It deals a fairly small amount of physical damage, but he is fully capable of unleashing attacks after a successful Spear.
Overdrive AbilitiesInferno Plague - Unleashing all of his rage, Thane forms an extremely large orb of fire that spreads onto nearby targets from wherever it makes physical contact with. The fire damages anyone inside it, meaning that Thane will take some damage no matter what. The flames damages any target over time if they are caught, and the fire itself lasts for twenty seconds. Empowered Spear - An empowered version of Spear. In return for being unable to cast this powerful ability for two minutes, Thane channels a huge amount of Hellfire into his kunai. He then throws it at his opponent with an extremely fast speed. While it acts like Spear in terms of mechanics, the physical damage it deals is greatly increased, it now catches his targets on fire for a few seconds, and cannot be blocked and must be dodged at all costs.Conflagration Grasp - Thane forms a small ball of intense Hellfire before sending it toward his enemy. When the ball comes in physical contact with whatever it touches, it envelopes its entire body in a cramped prison of burning chains. Locking down the target's movements for five seconds, Thane gains greater physical strength for five seconds as well. When the time limit is up, the chains explode, catching the target on searing hot fire for two seconds. Thane is unable to cast this spell again for five minutes.Blood Price - This ability has a duration of thirty seconds for most applied effects unless stated otherwise, and has a cooldown of one minute. If Thane has shed a certain kind of blood on his kunai or katana, then this ability is available for use. Thane gathers blood shed on his kunai/katana, turning it into a floating ball of blood. With utmost determination, Thane grabs the ball of blood before absorbing it forcefully. Following the kind of blood he just destroyed, different effects on granted on Thane. Thane can activate multiple effects if he tainted his kunai/katana with more than one kind of blood.- Human Blood - Thane gains the strength to use his abilities consistently. Blood Price's cooldown is not shortened.
- Elven Blood - Thane's Spear Ability has an even longer range, and there is no cooldown, meaning that he can constantly use it like a weapon.
- Half-Breed Blood - Thane is able to cast another overdrive. Thane's next overdrive deals double damage, and its effects would be drastically improved.
- Specter's Scent - Thane becomes invisible for one minute. His Hellfire and kunai remains visible. Unlike the rest of the effects, Thane must hit the body of a specter, regardless of whether he could harm the target, in order to gain the specter's scent. Instead of blood, the scent will be used to activate the ability.
- Demon Blood - Thane's katana is set on fire, leaving deadlier wounds on whoever is hit by it. Thane ignores natural Demonic auras at this time. The blade and defensive buff ends after about a minute passes.
- Angel Blood - Thane gains access to Lone Wolf.
Lone Wolf - Thane lets out a battle cry, the angel's blood he utilized taking into effect. For a thirty-second-long duration, Thane empowers his katana to face any supernatural being he is facing. The katana slices through all physical and magical barriers, items, and spells, and Thane is unable to cast any other spell he has while this katana is empowered. If Thane successfully hits the target he desires to kill during the duration, he is able to use the weapon for another ten seconds. If Thane kills the target he desires to kill, the enchantment immediately ends, and a cooldown of seven days takes place.Genocide Cutter - Thane must have any form of Blood Price enabled to use this ability. Thane surrounds himself in a storm of fire, letting a fiery hurricane protect him from all magic spells. The fire will instantly incinerate anything that touches it, and will consume anything made of fire. After charging an attack for fifteen seconds, Thane slashes at a target location with his katana, sending a lethal wave of fire in a large single file line. This fire will stick to any form of terrain it lands upon, and anyone hit by the slash will be dealt critical damage. If the slash hits a spell shield made of either magic or technological resources, it will force the shield to decay over time depending on how strong the magic or technology is.
Weaknesses
[*]Blind Rage - Under certain circumstances, Thane could become angered to the point where he is willing to do what he wants. This could lead to plans having the need to change.Mortal - While Thane is extremely powerful in terms of combat, he is still a human. His mind does not have any artificial barriers to protect him from, but he usually winds up getting angrier rather than becoming afraid.Trust - Thane's sense of honor still remains in his inhumane condition. He is willing to hear out his foes' thoughts; especially if it is their last.PersonalityAfter having his entire life destroyed by an army and a shadowy figure, Thane serves Lucifer to find out the man who destroyed his very purpose. Being a ninja who has delved further into the ways of assassination and brutal fighting styles, he is ambitious in his missions, knowing that he would be taking a step closer to true vengeance. He has an extremely pessimistic, arrogant tongue, oftentimes lashing out against anyone when he is angered, but he does not seem to hold this trait when he is talking with honorable opponents or allies. Thane, however, is ultimately a human. His emotions tends to get the better of him, and certain things twist his heart, making him even remorseful sometimes. If there is a faster option to find out who his murderer is, Thane is willing to go ahead and take that route.
BackgroundAround the Edo period, before the man now known as Thane died, he was known as Hideaki Fujimoto (translated to "great origin"). He was the assistant master at the Nakanaoriken Dojo located in an unknown village of Japan. The Nakanaoriken's masters and students followed three key terms: Itsu (Peace), Ninjou (Humanity), and Buki (Weapon). The Nakanaoriken was used to incapacitate those who threatened peace with weapons, but doing so with humanity and mercy. The dojo was known for having all of its students become successful in protecting their village without losing their will to forgive and understand human nature. Their weapons were non-lethal, but always provided a sufficient arsenal to stop people from terrorizing their village. Hideaki served his master and family, always contemplating, but never forgetting the joy the people around him experienced.
His father would simply watch him, always proud in seeing his son treading on a road to tranquility and a rightfully protected home. Fujimoto's big sister had taken the place of his deceased mother's, making food for the dojo's masters and students, and constantly training at the same time. And finally, he had a little brother, whom he taught the most rigorously out of all. His brother loved everything more than Hideaki did, and he was utterly grateful for that. The life he lived in was not a
cliche, but rather, a life he worked hard enough to live in. Hideaki told the boy that the birthmark on his cheek- a valiantly spread wing- was a symbol that rightfully protected those who believed in fighting for the greatest of causes.
One day, a man reeking of death and disorder came to be in their home. And as quick as his arrival was, this person played a magic trick that people did not see that much anymore:
death. The villagers suddenly fell, some dying out of lack of oxygen, and others having their limbs mutilated and utterly destroyed. The Nakanaoriken, as strong as they were, failed to protect the village, and soon, their students began to drastically fall in number. But soon, the stranger left the village, leaving behind a strongly disorganized village body.
A week later, a warlord brought an army of death upon the ruined village. Hideaki did his best to protect the village, but the army ignored his actions, fearless of death itself. He never tried to kill. Fearful and at least hoping that he could save his family, the man went back to the dojo.
But his family was already gone. All that was left was that same stranger who came by a week ago, standing in the middle of the dojo, giving Hideaki a shadowed, but amused look. A piece of flesh lay on the ground, the birthmark of a wing clearly etched underneath the dried blood that lucidly covered it.
Angered beyond belief, and utterly at loss at seeing his family's blood staining that foul man's mouth, Hideaki went over and took out a sleek katana that was hidden underneath the floor tiles. With everything lost, the last member of the Nakanaoriken charged toward the man of death, sorrow encompassing his life. He, ever so quickly, lost his head in the end.
He truly hated it. Peace only worked for the blind, as he figured out, for beyond the village was a cruel, unforgiving land. They had men who reeked of death, people who were trained to kill. If peace was the last thing that should come into a fighter's mind, then why bother? His village was gone, his family cannibalized by the foul creature that dared to show his shadowed face.
And soon enough, he found himself back to where he started.
He woke up in the middle of a mighty fireplace, but his body refused to burn along with the air. He was naked and within the state of absolute humiliation, but he found no humility in himself anymore. The humble Hideaki was no longer there, for he had failed to reunite with his family in the heavens. He, at the very last moment, refused to believe that his family was gone, after all the work and effort he put into being able to fight, laugh, and love.
He was no longer a man, but a shell that desired to be one once more.
In rage, Thane marched out of the fire, finding a few demon foot soldiers standing in his way. He did not immediately kill them, however, for there was another man who stood behind them. The man knew that this strange person reeked of chaos, but with no real purpose in his revival, Thane decided to hear him out.
The man's name was Lucifer, and he was apparently the king of Hell. This Lucifer claimed that he knew many secrets that nearly none- if none at all- knew of. Interested, the fallen warrior asked the king of Hell a question.
Who is it that destroyed me?At this, Lucifer only gave him a reassuring, soothing smile. He replied in a simplistic nature, giving Thane a new purpose.
"I know who killed your family. Work for me, and I may tell you who he is."That day, Hideaki Fujimoto and his mastery of peace turned into ashes. His mission was immediately set in stone. In return for the deaths of the Brightendales, the ones Lucifer was after, the king of Hell would, in exchange for Thane's services, tell him who murdered his family, his home, and his entire life.
He would make them all burn in the most horrifying way imaginable.
