The year is 1872 in Paris, France. The Industrial Era is at large, and countries are wanting to be bigger and better in every way. That includes tourist as much as it does inventing new things and expanding with the latest global movement. In the city of Paris, they are looking for the best top scientist, archaeologist, architects, historians, bravest adventurers and explorers out there, to work together and complete the newest tourist attraction: The Paris Catacombs.

The catacombs are home to the remains of six million people, due to many of the cemeteries of Paris overflowing with bodies over generations of disease, famine, war and many other tragic endings. Paris hired a top team of locals to go down, renovate, and put all the bones into place. But when called back, the former team refused to go back into the catacombs. Some came home extremely injured physically, emotionally, and mentally. A handful of the finest Paris had to offer did not return. This sparked a huge flame of curiosity among the world, wanting to know what goes on down below in the Empire of the Dead.

And that's exactly why you are here. To give them their answer one way or another.

Physical Description:

Frami stands at 6 feet tall flat and possesses a medium build to compliment his stature, not by any means bulky or commanding presence through sheer body mass but well toned as his general aesthetic would hint, most bodily definition could be hidden well enough under baggy clothing save for his lower body which commands the most size of all his muscular features. A fray of curly black hair lies atop his head which is often matted down by the black and white checkered hats he frequently wears which do good at providing shade to contrasting emerald eyes which sport small flares suggesting signs of distant oriental descent, which is challenged by his rather large protruding nose and olive skin tone.

Despite the circumstances that have been imposed on Frami he's ever the optimist in his own breed of relaxed acceptance, which some have come to gauge as apathy which he laughs off, if he were truly apathetic about anything he wouldn't have survived as long as he has. He simply does not see the use in worrying over circumstances one cannot control, it only impedes their performance when the time comes that they can make an impact.

Other information:

Draws origin from the Caribbean Islands, in particular Dominican Republic. Lived to the age of 8 with a relatively content if not under privileged childhood, most in his neighborhood did not have much and he was no exception so he took the simple inability to gain material desires to heart and never really pestered for much. Eventually his parents registered his incredible temperance in never pestering for things they could not provide as most children are known to do. The guilt of not being able to provide luxuries for their child led them to allow him to live with his Aunt and Uncle in Italy where he could obtain a better living, and for a while, he did. He'd picked up language skills and academic opportunities he'd only thought were for the more privileged kids.

By the age 12 he'd grown under much better circumstances his parents could have provided for him. He had an encounter with a mugger where in he fled into a vacant Cathedral, unable to evade him he was stabbed in the stomach and left to bleed out in the silence of church surrounded by the symbols of what he would accept in the afterlife. He was saved by devote man who came to pray despite the Cathedral being deserted only to see him bleeding out and taking him to the doctor who was able to dress his wound.

After the traumatic experience he decided one brush with death was one too many and began going about Italy searching for locals in which to learn how to protect himself. Fencing enthusiast and fight clubs came were one of the main subjects of his experimentation. After the disapproval of his Aunt and Uncle for his recklessness in learning self defense he began to strike it on his own seeing as he felt of age to be on his own.

Name: Killian Novak

Age: 26



Personality: Killian uses charm and wit to get what he wants, always putting on his best face towards whomever he is dealing with. He always goes about his business in the mental state of an actor. This basically means he analyzes his situation and decides what kind of personality to assume, then stays “in character” so as to properly fool the other party. For example, if he’s hunting down the leader of a notorious gang, he will go through the tedious effort of worming his way into the ranks of the gang under a fake name to get close to said leader. Then, when he has an opportunity, he will take his target down with whatever methods he deems necessary. Fortunately for his more recent victims, Killian no longer goes so far as to take a life whilst doing his job except in self-defense.

When he isn’t working a job, Killian relaxes a bit more. He reveals his true personality to be that of a sarcastic but loyal friend to the few he acknowledges as such. However, he has trouble holding on to long-lasting relationships since his work requires him to move from town to town so often. To cope, he doesn’t let himself get close to most of the people he comes across in his travels.

Specialties/Occupation: Private Detective; former hired gun

Strong Points: Killian adeptly uses his intellect and wit and he is quick on his feet, especially when cornered or in a fight. He has also gained much knowledge of the world through his travels as both a detective and a hit man.

Fears: Anyone close to Killian may know he is afraid of heights, but he also has a second, private fear that no one else is aware of. Despite his outward demeanor, he is distraught at the idea of dying alone. He just doesn’t know how to keep a steady relationship going.

Other information: Much of Killian’s past remains a mystery to everyone except for himself. However, it can be inferred that he comes from some part of England because he has a pronounced accent when he isn’t disguising his voice.

On a side note, he is semi-fluent in Latin and can translate ancient scripts and codes with ease.

Name: Léonard Marques

Age: Mid twenties

Physical Description: Unlike most others, it seems, Léonard actually really scrawny to the level where you can pretty much see his ribs. This doesn't serve to make him "attractive" in any way, and really just makes him look more like a bag of skin and bones than anything else. (Which he pretty much is.) You could say he's "fit" considering his body shape, but he just can't seem to change it.

His skin tone's also slightly more olive toned than the average French citizen, seeing as (a few generations back), he had a few Kurdish relatives. Léonard's hair is a light brown color, although it's turning darker over time. Right now, he hasn't trimmed it for a while, so he currently ties it up in an extremely short ponytail. As for the color of his eyes, they could be described as amber, although there's also a fair amount of brown in there, as well.



Personality: Léonard's the type to prefer remaining secretive and aloof from everyone, even the people he's close to. (Although he's not really close to them even then - he just claims to be.) He's also quite apathetic towards everyone, and won't care much about the situation unless it applies to him. Otherwise, he prefers to just observe others (unless he thinks of a suitably unfitting snarky remark). He has an extremely confusing (and sometimes outright insulting) sense of humor, so this rarely turns out well, either.

Snarky remarks from him are quite common, actually - it's something that should be expected constantly from him. It's also fairly easy to tell when he's lying / in denial / angry at you, since he usually starts to stammer slightly when this happens. If this goes on for longer than a few minutes, he's most likely to start lashing out at everyone else, regardless of whether they were involved or not. Léonard's also quite the pessimist, and will most likely list all the reasons why the group's going to fail instead of encouraging them. As a result, it's probably in everyone's best interest either a) find a way to shut him up or b) ignore him.

Specialties/Occupation: Previously an architect, but just joined the military a few months ago.

Strong Points:
- He's great at running away like a coward finding escape routes, being able to find them mostly because of his knowledge of buildings / structures.
- Leonard's also got a good aim with a gun, as he's not great at close range fighting / melee.

Fears:
- He tends to hide this from others (and most definitely won't admit it to himself), but he's afraid of accidentally getting emotionally attached to someone else. When he actually does become attached, he always becomes overly invested and over thinks everything.
- And, since he tends to escape from situations he doesn't want to deal with, it causes him a lot of stress when there's something he can't get away from.
- Disappointment. He's alright with others getting angry at him (since it happens all the time), but disappointment is the worst for him.

Other information: Léonard really hates nicknames, and calling him "Leo" is pretty much a guarantee for him to hate you.

Name: Taza Hawkstrider

Age: 26

Physical Description (picture/typing/both): Taza is a strongly built with shoulders as wide as an ax handle is long, his raven black hair is cut to his shoulders, and his dark colored eyes are hard, normally he wears a buckskin jacket on top of more practically built European clothing, he also wears all of his clothes in dull colors.

Personality: Taza is honorable, and brave a trait shared by many of his tribe, he believes in helping people, and his spiritual and traditional beliefs seep into how he treats people and approaches a situation

Specialties/Occupation: Tracker/World Explorer

Strong Points: Taza is a great tracker and pathfinder, honorable, and he can fight well unarmed or armed with a tomahawk.

Fears: Evil/lost spirits, being buried alive, and not being buried if he dies.

Name: David MacDonald

Age: 27

Physical Description (picture/typing/both):

Personality: David MacDonald is stoic and steady when it comes to danger. As a former officer in the British army, he is no stranger to death, but after seeing action in colonial Africa, he bears many scars, both physical and mental and he occasionally has taken to drinking, a fact which he hides from his father, who has traveled with him to Paris.

Specialties/Occupation: Professional Soldier. Amateur Historian.

Strong Points: He carries a Beaumont Adams revolver, chambered in .476 caliber, and is an excellent shot with it. Despite his drinking, he is in very good shape, can hold himself in a fist fight (and he has). Also, his father is a professor of Roman history at Oxford, and some of it has rubbed off on his on.

Fears: David is terrified at the idea of being helpless and alone.

Physical Description: Effie has dark black hair with the equal green-blue eyes of her brother, Otto.

Personality: Effie is an impatient lady who has set plans and goals always in mind. She likes the power of logic, and doesn't have a open mind to the explainable or supernatural; she refers to it as utter nonsense. In a situation, she prefers to think and weasel her way out. Although she is a natural thinker, she’ll never admit her fear of the what she can’t see.

Specialties/Occupation: Alchemist

Strong points: Thinks fast, and a problem solver naturally.

Fears: Total Darkness (unable to see), unstable earthy grounds (fear of falling, becoming trapped).

Other information: She took after her mother in looks, but she has her father’s mind and spirit. The daughter of the late Dr. Harris Holloway, a promising Alchemist himself, she did strive and took a natural connection with the earth. Following her father’s footsteps, she became a alchemist. Although her mother didn't agree to such a way for her daughter, she never stopped supporting her.

Personality: Otto can be an odd sport, but he means well. He likes to believe anything is possible, which is probably due to his mind that is like the wind. Otto tends to come up with strange solutions to simple problems, and complex solutions to simple problems. He was never the sort to always stay on one cloud, or believe a set of natural laws.

Strong points: Being creative, and his scatter brain can do good sometimes.

Fears: He’s extremely superstitious. Afraid of the ‘other side’ and curses.

Other information: Otto loved to find the supernatural, so he knew even as a child, he wanted to explore what no one else would. He wanted to find lost history that people took to the graves..literally. He had a passion for history and the untold. Otto always looked out for everyone. He loved his father, but in truth he always leaned towards his mother. His sister Effie and him didn't always see eye to eye, but they got along…sometimes.

The Holloway Siblings were raised in England. Their father, Harris Holloway was British, but Eleanor Holloway moved to England from France as a child.
Due to their mother, they learned enough French to get them by.
