I disagree with much of the criticism.

A torch sounds completely logical for a god of mining, dwarves, etc. (dwarves are often depicted with torches, and a torch is kinda useful when you're underground). This does not necessarily mean you invented the torch, just that it came to symbolize what you stand for (underground).

The ability to shape mountains should in no way be out of your reach, although not being able to do it any more and wanting to reclaim it may be a good choice nonetheless. You could even go so far as to have your power be burried somewhere in the mountains of the world, and have the dwarves' original purpose be to dig it up.

The elder god part seem irrelevant to me, although I'm fond of the idea that gods come into existence when they are needed. So the crop god was born because crops were being planted, and the god of war was born because people started fighting.

Dragon's are nearly as closely linked to mountains as dwarves are, and riches come with their territory. So yes to dragons (also, they officially exist now :D). (question that can be asked is "are they animals, or servitars?" though)

On the subject of Vryad and the death domain:
I think I will keep half of it in, since I do love the idea of mortals being judged by the deity of bad luck. I'll edit.

I'd say to heck with the background, tweak the god a little bit and act out the god's history within the RP. Surprise is by revealing things in the RP that we didn't know yet. Maybe your god's powers were locked away for a purpose, but the other's have forgotten?

As much as you don't set in stone in your background can be changed as you get to know your god better trough character development...

It was Tavon who taught the man how to plant crops, since he was one of the two gods of nature at the creation of earth (with Era being the other one).

I'm a little confused now. I didn't know Tavon had spoken to anyone since your introduction post. I might've misread something, but I simply assumed the other characters you were controlling weren't Tavon himself. If I must I'll edit it for continuity's sake. This was the post I assumed to be your most recent centered around your god.

I understand, this is the other post: Tavon talking to Lyah. You don't have to edit, the talking would just be at a time before this happened.

Now he changed the post of his god to mining and dwarves, yes the torch is completly logical.

I never said he couldn't be the shaper of mountains. I just said him it might be more interesting to switch focus to dwarves to bring the god closer to the people. I have nothing against the idea that it was he who created the mountains, just as much as Era and Tavon created nature.

I like the idea that everyone was there at least as an energy source, because how can you be a god of this world if you weren't at its creation.

I agree that both dwarves and dragons are linked to mountains, but the connection between dwarves and dragons is rather poor. Look at the movies of "The Hobbit". OR maybe dwarves and dragons coexist in this world. That would be interesting. Then everything would make perfect sense and could be a cool thing to play with.

I don't mind if your god takes care of the lost souls.

It is quite a cool hero, but that is not how it works. Let heroes be born dynamically in the story.

If you discussed it with the player of that god, yes you probably can. I just meant to say that is makes a way better story if the heroes started as commoners. But are we really going to do premade heroes?

Both are valid options. If you want to play a veteran and have discussed your past with the god OOC that's fine.
But the story will revolve around the new champions so make that your focus.

As for the history lesson: I guess i'll draw a red line so we all have something to work with. But still have space to leave thing shrouded in mystery.
The gods are born the moment their domain becomes relevant to the human world. The god of fire emerges when the first human bashes rocks together and witnesses a spark. The gods of civilization and order come to be when the first families and tribes form a communion. etc.
The gods is either created by discovery or to aid it.
However all the gods are aware of this, and have vague memories of what happened before them. As all were present at the worlds creation a long time before.

The gods are all powerful and can do anything befitting the story. Their domains are more guidelines in style than limitations. The goddess of healing and forgiveness could raise an army of ghouls or use lightning to shoot down innocent people. She wouldn't, and the god of death and unpleasantness would probably me more experienced at it. But she can!
The gods only limits are the other gods and things made by gods to oppose gods.

"I don't see anyone fight, so I don't think you broke anything," Tavon smiled, "Well, except for that few mugs over there, but I think I'll overlook that." He winked at Vincus. "I enjoy a feast as much as they do," Tavon spoke while pointing at the people, "I might even join......" Suddenly Tavon's face got serious. He pushed his hands against his head. "How could I not have seen this. I should have known. I am sorry Vincus, but you will have to excuse me for now. I apparently have a daughter."

akje this happened before Tavon met Lyah. I told so in the OOC.

Tavon and Tarvin, Vincus and Vizlin, Lyah and Zaya. Why are you guys making such similar names? It's confusing the heck out of me.

Mine was a mistake, I didn't think of Tavon when I was creating Tarvin. And I can't change his name anymore without creating a whole lot more of confusion.

Oi, I was first with Vincus, so Vizlin is not my problem ;). I came up with Ron, supposedly the only relatively normal name in the entire RP.

Oh sorry, I only skimmed the OOC since there was a lot of it. Is it a big deal or can we just mash shit together? more people = more involved in the story.

I do not think It's a big deal, though it was my fault and I apologise.

I hope you don't mean Vincus with 'the entertainer' since that's actually my god-character. Dunno who you're referring to at this point.

No, I'm talking about the bard of course.
To put simple: Unfettered (that's Mawhiti's angel) has a message for the humans. because he doesn't speak the mortal language he needs to temporarily posses someone. He wants to possess the bard. but he needs the bards consent, he asks Tavon (the god) to convince the bard to accept him for this.

I'm being difficult aren't I?
