After catching my breath, I hear Miles get yet another probably good idea... this time, about us all using the plate together. "Huh... you know what? With what this thing's capable of, that just might work," I say to Miles as I hold out the plate, waiting for him and Elena to grab it with me. During the time that it took for everyone to do that, Chance decided to barge in... well, okay, the door was open so, it's not like he had to do much barging. He was still in that ridiculous armor, but he was holding a completely different, fancier-looking sword. It almost looked as though he bought that thing from a store, which made me question the blade's strength, as it seems as though more thought was put into the golden lion's head that decorated the hilt than the actual blade, itself. That being said, he looked at me, and my confused facial expression, and said "What? You didn't really think I'd just stay home and do nothing while you get to run off to who-knows-where doing who-knows-what, did you?" Honestly, I kinda did, given that his supposedly only weapon was already stolen from him by Miles, and he was trying to make a new one, or something... I expected him to stay away for at least a week working on his new sword... of course, that point is moot, given that he apparently had more than one of them. "So... what's this thing, and what are we doing?" Chance asks after a bit of waiting. I then answer with "It's a piece of some sort of omni-important plate thing... er... the same one that saved us from the meteor," I then continue with "As to what we're doing, we're trying to use this thing to teleport to somewhere a little closer to the next plate piece... um... just grab onto the plate piece, then, if you're going to join us," Chance does as instructed after nodding to confirm that he understood what I just said... a full party of four, I guess... but, are we really going to save the world with so few teammates?
[Tony]

The trio talked among each other for a while, and eventually came to a conclusion, with Mark, or whoever the gryphon was, saying "Well, since you're fighting for the exact same cause as we are... I guess it would be kinda stupid of us to not join you. We're in," That seemed a little too easy, but, I guess it's as they've said, we're fighting for the same thing, so, we might as well get along. The three then ask "So, what are we going to do first?" I think about it for a moment, and ask "Hey... are any of you strong against water?" The dragon and the golem turn to look towards Mark, and he steps forwards, asking "I am, why?" I then explain "We have someone from an enemy group locked up, but, well, she MIGHT possibly break free if nobody's looking after her... would you mind maybe making sure she stays in her cell?" I then whisper to him and the other two where our base is, and Mike... who just reminded me of his name while I did so, then flew off, leaving the other two, and us. "Uh... the rest of you... maybe you could help us recruit other new teammates," the golem shrugged, and the dragon nodded, and they both started following the group as we continued walking through the city, trying to get more to join our cause... sure, we had just convinced three new people to join, but, we might need yet more if we were going to pull off our goals, or, you know, try to attack that 'Humanity's Hope' group. The general reaction was still 'no', but, I still had some hope that we'd be able to somehow scrounge together enough people to help us take down that group... I had to at least hope so, right?

As Elena heard what Robert and Miles say about all using the plate, she smiled and then grabbed on the piece of plate. It might actually work. She breath deeply, before seeing that gryphon from before... Luck? No.... Fortune.... no thats not it... right... his name was Chance.... at least that what she remembered. Well, he grabbed onto the plate also, and Elena smiled a bit at this.
"Well... welcome to the journey I guess. Wonder where we will be going after California...." she then says, before looking in the sky, started to just stay there, staring. Maybe she would find her brother one of those days. Maybe one day they would get back together, and maybe they would work on saving the world together. She was not sure. It was best to just try to help out however she could right now instead of going and feeling the long pain of her lost brother and parents. She looked at Robert, and nodded, ready to go.
Deravan smiled slightly at what he was hearing. More people to join the cause. Though he just hoped that it would not end up with that girl getting free from these guys. It would be really bad if that were to happen. He continued to fallow Tony, hoping to get more people, but it was starting to feel as if there was not really any hope here. The reason for that was that everyone was saying no, probably too scared and trying to survive the best they could. Then something came into Deravan's mind. He looked at Tony and walked near him.
"You know.... the more I think about it... I still ahve some questions I want to interogate our little wolf back at base... like if that group are taking prisoners. Think about it... who would want to fight that group more then people that were forced into custody by those crooks." he then says, thinking. He looks up.
"Maybe... maybe we could see if they have smaller bases for that and attack those first, gather up people and then attack the main quarters in force." he sudgests.

Thankfully, Val arrived before the golem came back. She growled at him, creating three flames in front of her. He probably wouldn't catch fire so easily now that he was wet, but he still seemed intimidated. He then noticed his crossbow on the ground a few feet away. He grabbed it, pointing it at Val and the wolves. "I swear, you make one move and I'll shoot!" He slowly backed away, and once he was far enough, he went into a run.

Ralph watched as the golem disappeared into the woods. "I'm glad you showed up when you did. I don't think I could've taken him on my own." He said. "I'll be fine. I just need a little help getting back to the cave."
He remembered seeing Tony use some sort of healing magic on Connor. That might have just been his stone-manipulating powers, but there was a chance that he would be able to heal Ralph, too.

After a moment of murmuring and talking amongst themselves, the beaten-up trio finally decided to join their group. They seemed to join surprisingly easily, considering that Connor had beaten them up and left them for dead yesterday. A Gryphon stepped foward, Mark, volunteering to guard the water wolf's cage and ensure it doesn't get out, and nothing gets to it. Apparently, Mark was good with water, so he'd have to keep the gryphon close to him.

The golem and dragon decided to help them in their attempt at rallying up some other members. They continued down the street, everyone walking together. It looked like something you'd see on the cover of some metal album. A group of mythical monsters, a zombified dragon, and a bronze giant. The general response from the populace was "No," unfortunately. He was hoping that some other people besides people he tried to kill earlier would join.

Connor hoped that Mark would keep Michelle's stone cage closed. Of course, the whole thing could be a trick to get revenge, that would end in their entire group dead. He didn't really trust any of the people he had attacked earlier. He could've killed them earlier, and now they're acting like they had the exact same mission and goal as them. He had seen them attacking Ralph, for apparently no reason, so he didn't know if adding them to their group would be a good idea.

Maybe he was just getting paranoid. How could someone be stupid enough to try to get revenge on someone who brought them to the border of death just yesterday? At least if the trio did try to betray them, the group could probably easily overpower them and throw them in a ditch or something, making sure they were all dead. Deravan suggested that they should interrogate the wolf more, and Connor thought about how he would be more than happy to do so.

"Right, then..." Of course, I hesitated putting my hand onto the plate, since I didn't exactly wanted people squirming. But, I had to take a step forward and do so, otherwise we'd be stuck in this roleplay forever. I carefully slithered my hand onto the antique plate fragment, well actually underneath it. There was still an odd warmth to it, though, as well as an odd taste of... copper? Something like that.

Suddenly, Chance zoomed through space and time. Well, did it quickly enough so that I didn't notice for two seconds. "Woah, where'd you come from? Straight outta some rocket?" Chance the gryphon/Lucario knight came out of nowhere and practically joined this group in seconds. My God, so much for the OP's tendencies of surprise in the roleplay... "And how'd you make all that armour and sword in one day? It takes forever to forge those things." I figured the roleplay would sort that out. 'Made this ages ago', 'robbed a museum', 'stole it off a dead facist'... after all, God knows what dictates this world.

"Whatever. Let's just get over to... Hollywood." My God, Hollywood... does it always have to be in some ridiculous place, like Manhattan, Hollywood or privately-owned island? Some stereotypical villain. Damn tropes and your lack of originality. "Wonder what Carl looks like." I muttered to myself, already imagining some teleportation moment.

I jolt awake as a hear glass shatter in the room next to me. My clock says 11:12, and I look outside through my window on the fifteenth floor in the middle of the city. They had placed me up here so I wouldn't be able to run away again. The sound of screaming, yelling, and general chaos resonates through the building. I try to get up to see what is going on outside, but my bed sheets are frozen solid. I look around and realize that my entire bed is frozen, along with the floor and wall around it. Seeing my new body, I don't panic or do anything I would be expected to do. Instead, I realize that it's just a dream and go back to sleep. Five minutes later I wake up to the same noises that I heard earlier. My thought process went somewhere along the lines of:
"The world is crazier than usual today.
I must be dreaming.
But I'm not dreaming.
I want hamburgers.
I should probably do something about this."
So, after some struggling with the frozen blankets, I get up out of bed and set out to find hamburgers, but reorganize my priorities before I go out of my room. Eventually it dawns on me that I'm actually not dreaming as I look in the mirror at myself. Instead of seeing a regular human, I see a large dragon staring back at me. "This can't be happening..." I say to myself as I slowly back away from the mirror. "This isn't happening." I hear yelling in the hallway outside my door and turn around, accidentally smashing my tail through the wall and creating a huge hole overlooking most of the city. The footsteps in the hallway are coming closer to my door, and I soon realize that someone is trying to break it down. I wasn't sure I wanted to find out who was on the other side, but my only other escape was through the hole in my wall, fifteen stories above the pavement. Looking in the mirror again, I see this new body does have some advantages as it has wings.

I walk to the edge of what used to be my wall, and look down. I can hear the wind blowing through the city, creatures fighting in the streets, and screaming everywhere. Somehow, this along with a fifteen story drop bothers me less than whoever is trying to knock down my door, so I make my smartest decision all day and jump out of the building. For the first half second, everything seems to slow down. For that single moment it's almost as if I'm just suspended in midair, I don't hear the chaos below, only my own breath. Then reality kicks in and I begin to plummet headfirst toward my doom. Only a second before I hit the ground, my wings instinctively spread out long enough for me to glide/crash into an alley before hitting my head on a brick wall and knocking myself unconscious.

Before we left, Chance decided to answer Miles' questions, starting with "I kinda just live nearby, and he's been my best friend since kindergarten, so it's not like I don't know where he lives," Chance then answered the other question with "I made this armor a while ago, and fitted it to my new body yesterday, as for the sword... come on, did you really think I was THAT good of an artist? I bought it before this whole thing happened," I then focus on the plate piece again, and the thing puts up the stone shield for a moment before flinging us in the air, and finally teleporting us all to California... though, it wasn't as if it was instant, it was more like we were flying extremely fast, instead. Once there, the piece slowly puts us down on the ground near some giant tower with signs and billboards all over the place, some of which say 'I've got a plate piece, so COME AND GET ME, ROBERT!'... oh, right, now I remember Carl... the punk kept saying how he'd 'control the world' and how he could 'tell the future'. I didn't think he was actually serious about that junk, and just sort of laughed whenever he said that, and, for some reason, he thought I was on his side, he thought that I would actually help him with... well, whatever this is. Once he found out that I really wasn't helping him, and that I was just some guy who thought he was joking around, he kinda started to hate me, what he's doing in California is anyone's guess, but I assume he made it here as a part of his scheme and then the apocalypse happened... but... how'd he build this thing? Did he even build it, or did he just take a tower, and then slap all of these crudely-made signs on it? "Well, we're here, everyone, California," I point out to the group. Looking around, though, the only way you could tell that this was Hollywood was the broken sign that I saw earlier in that... vision? Dream? Something.
[Tony]

It seemed as though we should probably just head back, and interrogate the wolf some more about her group, and, seeing as how nobody seemed to want to join anyways, I figured that would be a pretty good idea. "Alright, then, since nobody else is joining, and interrogation might shed some light on that situation, I guess we should go," I announce to the team. The golem (whose name we learned was Dylan), and the dragon (whose name we learned was Tyler) both nodded, and said things that told me they agreed with that plan. It wasn't too far of a trip back, but I had to make sure that I walked at a pace that Connor could follow, which made the trip seem twice as long. Once we finally got there, I saw Mike (I learned on the way that the gryphon's name was Mike, not Mark) still watching over our little stone cell, and there was still a wolf lady in there who looked kinda hungry. Of course, since she was a prisoner, and not a recruit, this wasn't enough to motivate me to take some of the food for the team and feed her with it. "Hey, Mike, we're going to interrogate her... I'm guessing you either can, or want to help," a smile forms on his, er, beak, and I get rid of the jail cell for a moment, just so we can have a talk with her. I then remember that Deravan was really the one who wanted to do it, so, after waiting to make sure he was here, I tell him "Alright, Deravan, ask away... and I'm pretty sure she won't escape, not with pretty much everyone here, she's more outnumbered now than she was yesterday, and now she's probably kinda weak from hunger," I then wait for him to ask her something as the trio from yesterday tries to form a circle with my teammates, just to make sure she doesn't just run off, or try anything stupid.

Elena looked around after the group had been teleported, and then shakes a bit from all this. She then looked around the place, seeing that they were now in California. Seriously, traveling this fast? If they had something like that back at her job, then it would have made it much easier to travel from place to place. But seriously, it was a powerful item that should not be played with. She looked up at the tower, and stared at it.
"I have a bad feeling about this.... as if something in there was very wrong." she says. She then had a shiver down her spine as she stared at the tower. She breath deeply.
"I... I guess we need to get in and beat each floor to get to that Carl guy.... Who is he anyway?" she asks, unsure. She did not know anyone by the name of Carl anyway. It was something new to her. As she looked at the tower, that had a lot of decoration of gold and such, she breath deeply. What is this guy, the person that used all his money to make it seem like hes the richest creature in the world? Such a show off.
Deravan, who walked back with the group, smiled a bit as he moves close to where the wolf lady is. He then kneels a bit, and looks at her straight in the face.
"We need some information out of you... We were having slight complications with what we were doing. So here are my questions. Where are the positions of every small bases your organisation has, and do they take hostages for their twisted needs." he then says, staring straight at the wolf's eyes. He then rises up as he hears her stomach growl in hunger.
"Robert, if we can spare just a bit of food, maybe that will convince her to give us the information we need. We do not want a dead creature here even if she kinda deserves this. Not too much food but just enough so she does not die from hunger. That is... if the hunting party brought enough." he then says. He breath deeply. Next time he would go with the hunting party to help out, to gather up more food and help out in hunting. With his new form, he felt a lot better as a hunter as before, so it would help a lot if he were to come.

I slowly open my eyes, waking up from a really weird dream where I had turned into a dragon. After waking myself up a bit more, I realize that it wasn't a dream, as I'm lying half buried in a pile of bricks where I had crash landed. "Just wonderful..." I say to myself in disappointment. Getting out from under all the bricks was surprisingly easy to accomplish. I walk to the edge of the alley and look around the corner, everything seems to be peaceful at the moment. Looking up at the sky, I realize it's almost nighttime by now. How long had I been out for?

My stomach grumbles at me, reminding me of my previous mission to find hamburgers. It wasn't long before I stumbled upon a tipped over burger stand. It was like a hot dog stand, except with hamburgers. (I feel that needed to be clarified.) The top of it read "Best Burgers in Town!" That was quickly disproven once I had a taste, although they had been sitting out here for who knows how long. After finishing my dinner, I notice how eerily quiet the city has become, and a chill runs down my spine as I get the feeling someone is watching me. I decide that the best course of action would be to stay in the alleyways for now, and return to my previous hiding spot.

Verlassën nodded, walking over to Ralph and helping him to his feet. "That's all right. I can help you get back to the cave. Just be careful." She said, glancing around, her ears perked for any sound. "There isn't a whole lot around here in terms of prey, but I saw a couple of trees that have nuts we can eat. Maybe we can get those?" She suggested, noticing a berry bush nearby. She sniffed it, glad that she could detect which plants were poisonous with her canine nose. "These are okay to eat, I don't smell any poison on or in them." She said, looking over at Ralph. "We'll need to get quite a bit of food if Tony's coming back with new recruits, and we can't exactly get them when we're getting ambushed left and right." She joked, looking around cautiously.

They began the trip back home albeit much slower. Unfortunately, Connor was restricted to just following Tony. The trip seemed to be taking forever now, unfortunately. When he was going to the city, the trip wasn't all that long. Just sprinting throughout he forest. He could've probably easily strode ahead, and the trip would be half the time, but apparently the little people couldn't quite sprint through the forest as fast as he could. He wondered if Dylan ever felt the same about his group. Probably.

Once they arrived at the cave, he noticed that the hunting group wasn't back from their trip yet. Hopefully they came soon, because everyone else seemed a little malnourished. Connor really didn't feel all that hungry, but did giant stone behemoths generally eat anything? He had tried to eat something a day or two ago, but it had just slid down his gullet. No chewing, or tasting, really, so he didn't imagine he'd have to find anything to eat. One more advantage to being a golem.

Mike was still there, still keeping a watchful eye over the wolf in the cage. It was time to interrogate her, and as much as he really, really, really wanted to do it, Deravan had been the one who volunteered to interrogate her. Inside, she looked thinner and more gaunt than she had been when she first attacked her. She must've been really hungry. Maybe they could bribe her with food to get more answers. But not much food, hopefully. Just enough to keep her still hungry.

The stone walls slid down, revealing her slumped down on the ground. He doubted that she'd be able to do anything to the group in the state that she was in, and even if she did manage to pull together a small attack, the group would easily be able to counter it and incapacitate her with ease. Seeing the wolf's form lying on the ground, he felt a twang of guilt inside of him, that he quickly dismissed and replaced with anger. The wolf nearly killed them. He would make sure he'd return the favor.

I think Deravan might be getting delirious from a lack of food. First, he calls me 'Robert' for some weird reason, and then he asks for some food for our prisoner. We didn't have any food to spare, unfortunately... of course, that was a given when we didn't have any food to begin with. Oddly enough, even without food, Michelle started to speak "Yes, we do take prisoners. We need prisoners, as we'd rather not experiment on ourselves... as for smaller bases, I already gave away the location of our smallest base, remember?" She didn't laugh this time, and seemed to be trying to help us, however, I couldn't falter, as it could all be a trick. She could be doing this so that we'd go a little easier on her, so that she might escape, and tell her group all about us. I then decide to address Deravan's obvious problem, and ask "So... who the heck is Robert? I'm Tony, remember?" Maybe 'Robert' was some old friend and he was starting to go nuts from not having any food, but still, it was kinda worrying that he's already hungry enough to have mental issues. Connor seemed guilty for just a fraction of a second, but that was quickly replaced with his usual anger towards her, and I turned towards Connor to ask "So... before I put her back in the cage, is there anything you wanted to ask her?" It seemed like Connor was both afraid and infuriated by her, so, it seemed logical that he'd have a few words for her, be they positive or, most likely, negative. I honestly didn't care what he said to her, just so long as he didn't kill her, given that we might need her for the locations of future bases.

Deravan looked at Tony, and breath deeply, shaking his head at all this.
"Sorry... I..." he says, looking down a bit. He breath deeply.
"I don't know why I even went and say that name... One of my old friends from back then.... One that I use to have fun with when I was younger, but then had to move away. I remember how some bullies tried to get to him and I actually punched one of them in the face.... The guy never bothered him again... that was before he moved...." he then says, before breathing deeply, and shaking his head.
"Talk about old memories coming back to hunt me... I don't know why I even said that. Apologies." he says shaking his head and then sitting down, breathing deeply, resting a bit.
"I feel like I might need to go do some hunting by myself soon if we don't get food. I think it is getting to me..." he says as his stomach grumbles a bit. He frowns a bit at this, and breath deeply. Great.... With everything that was happening... he should have went with the hunting party instead.

Ralph was forced to follow Val on foot due to his injury. They stumbled upon a berry bush, but there was the possibility that they could be poisonous. Thankfully, Val was apparently able to smell poison. According to her, these were okay to eat.
"We'd better hurry." Ralph said. "The others would probably be back by now."
He started making a small pile of berries on the ground beside him, keeping an eye out for anything coming their way.
"Now, I'm not sure how we're gonna carry these back to the cave." He said. "The only thing I can really think of is that shadow-hands ability of yours, but that takes a lot of energy, doesn't it?"

I... felt as if something was manipulating the universe. Maybe it was an incarnation of me, maybe it was the narrator. Or something. I guessed that if the writer wasn't around, the whole world would be frozen. Not good spending a week holding a stone. And realising it was just a few seconds.

"Uh, alright Chance." Well, everything got explained rather quickly, as Chance got his claws on the stone. Honestly, I should've saw that coming. Anyway, I had a feeling everyone else felt awkward holding these odd hands, which would probably get them to kill me since I was the one who suggested it.

And then, Carl.

A real son of a bitch in the roleplay, and I never really liked how he was presented. He got what he deserved, manipulating universes and forcing us to fight mirror twins... and, now, this one I have no idea what he's gonna do. I didn't want to know what he would do. Already, as we phased into existence of... the remains of Hollywood, we were confronted by lots of signs. They looked huge, and made quite some time ago. Carl already had a bad time in the roleplay, being explained how he had this god complex or something to some newbie. That was to work against us. For some reason, he managed to anticipate us coming, setting up a whole load of signs and graffiti. Mostly signs. They didn't really fit Hollywood, what with spotlights broken and strangely a few buildings vandalised with celebrity sprays. The landscape was strangely fine, aside from a few burning patches and frozen grass. By looking at the sun, the time was presumably between 9 and 12 am. Still felt kinda tired though.

May God have mercy on us all, if it turned out Carl was the writer. "Well, Robert, let's just go into the tower ahead of us, and get through a lot of traps... yeah, it's gonna happen."

I nod towards Miles, and head inside, with Chance saying "Yeah, just go right into those traps, head-first, huh, Robert?" He then ran after me, and dragged me back to my team. I then remembered Elena's question, and after apologizing for being completely stupid, I answer "Well, Elena, Carl was originally just some joker who thought he was going to take over the world, and also thought he could see into the future. The fact that he has a plate piece... well, it's not good news," I then try to head into the building again, but Chance pulls me back a second time, and points up, adding "Most of us can fly, why should we even bother with the lower floors if we all already know that he's at the top?" Chance had a good point, however, I wasn't sure if I could carry Miles, or if Elena could... maybe if both of us tried, we'd be able to pull it off. I then turn towards Elena again, and announce "Alright, we're going to fly up as high as we can... Elena, you and I are going to carry Miles. Chance isn't going to help 'cause I think he's already carrying enough with that heavy armor and that sword of his," I then look up at the tower, and notice that it might just go beyond where we can fly... how a tower got so tall was anyone's guess, but I think it might have something to do with the plate piece he stole. I then start flying, and wait for Elena to continue. Chance was already heading up, and hopefully, we wouldn't have to deal with too much once we crashed the place... also... it would be nice if the place was stable enough to not collapse as soon as we entered it.

Connor thought, the stone gears in his mind grinding and churning. He had a chance to ask anything he could to the wolf. Anything at all? This was his chance to really tell the wolf off just how much he hated her, and maybe put her down even more. He could insult her, but asking her a question that they hadn't thought of could really help the group. Maybe he could kill her, but with that, they'd lose a valuable source of information, and Tony would probably get mad at him and make him go find someone else from their group to imprison and interrogate.

"Do you.. know where your parents are?" The words that came out of his mouth surprised him. He didn't mean to ask that, at all. But he didn't take the words back. Connor began to stalk away before Michelle could answer. He shrugged. He could always put her down later. He doubted that cage was soundproof. Connor looked over the forest horizon. The city was far off, and he could make out several small figures out in the distance. The forest was always ripe with other people.

After their uneventful city time, he would probably head out and join the hunting got up instead. He was sure he'd be able to come back with some pretty good game if he tried. For the briefest, most fleeting moment, he wondered if he could eat some of the other things in the forest, but he quickly dispelled that idea. They were still people, they just had different forms and some had different minds. It would be just like cannibalism. He was sure there was plenty of rabbit and deer out there for all of them.

Verlassën nodded, looking down at the berries. "Ja - Er, yes, but I should be able to carry this little bit, it's not much. Just stay here for a second. I'll see if I can go quickly hunt something." She said, trotting off back to the clearing she was at earlier. She sniffed around, before finding the rabbit's scent again. She followed it to a burrow, and she started digging out the hole. The rabbit's came out, scared and Verlassën was waited for them. She caught one right off the bat, killing it with a quick snap of her jaws. Teal and Russet dashed out of the shadows around them to get two more rabbits that had run off, counting three for them all. Verlassën put them all on her back and went back over to Ralph, picking some berries along the way. She held these with small shadow hands, picking up the berries that they had collected a moment ago. It wasn't much, but it'd do. "Okay, this should be okay, right?" She asked, using her shadow hands to pick a large amount of nuts and adding them to their collection. "I can hold these, but that's about it before it starts to strain my powers." Verlassën said, starting to walk back to the cave.

I wake up and looked around, wondering what time it was. It doesn't really matter anyway, recently I've just been sleeping whenever I feel tired. That isn't usually in accordance with the day/night cycle. Yeah, I know, what a rebel. I slowly stand up and begin to travel throughout the city, which is now nothing more than a ghost of its former self. Food is getting more and more scarce, all the other people/creatures here have moved away to search for greener pastures. In some cases, literally. This biological change had effectively thrown human civilization back into the stone ages, it's amazing how different life is without society. I pass by a supermarket. All the shelves are completely bare, the decorations and displays torn apart. It is hard to believe that just a few days ago people were going about their regular, everyday lives in these very streets... News and electronics are obviously gone, so I have no idea what the outside world is currently going through.

These streets are completely devoid of life. Scarcely a living creature to be seen for miles. There aren't even any animals left, all eaten by people. Well, I'm not sure I should call the, people anymore. They were people, but their behavior has since devolved to suit the creatures they have become. The sad part is that it was entirely their choice to think in the "eat or be eaten" mindset. Perhaps people were always like that, society simply held it at bay. Recently, I've been testing my new wings. My first flight down from the building was my best so far. As of now, I'm barely able to get five feet off the ground before exhaustion forces me to land. I turn and begin to walk down an alley until I see a door frame with a door sitting beside it. There doesn't seem to be anyone home, so I walk inside. It isn't long before I find some fruit stored safely away in a container. I feel bad for whoever stored this, but I'm no exception to human nature. I eat the fruit and find a place to sleep, hoping that no one returns home anytime soon.
