Charlotte Dyer

Charlotte turned her head, looking over her shoulder and narrowing her eyes at the man. Oh, really? His lack of understanding in magic was palpable if he though just being magical made you know everything. "Oh, really? Gee, I wonder why I didn't use my grenade-detecting powers before... I'm a witch, not omniscient, you buffoon. Just because I'm adorable doesn't mean people come and tell me when and where they're going to shoot military grade weapons at me."

Her scowl became another smile. "But on the other hand, the fact that there hasn't been an immediate followup means the shooter's either moved or been interrupted. That smoke grenade was probably fired to mask their next move, and since we hadn't spotted them until then that next move was probably trying to shoot us."

The tiny black-haired girl shrugged, her pointed hat bobbing. "Really, as if I'd ever be scared of guns."

It was just plain silly.

"Still, we need to find them, and fast," she added, before calling out. "Anna? Did you see where that came from?"
King

She had expected no easy surrender. King simply nodded at the defiant declaration. No, a surrender was the last thing that the King of the Britons had been prepared for after a single blow. This girl's shield held fast against Excalibur, but still King forced her blade on, metal straining on metal. However, this wasn't truly making any progress. The shield was resilient, powerful enough to withstand the impact from the divine blade of Excalibur, and while she was the stronger of the two, the girl was managing to push back hard enough to make this avenue of attack less favorable. Put too much behind a push, and her opponent could slip under the blade and make a counterattack. However, the same went for her opponent. All the effort that Phalanx put into pushing Excalibur away meant she could stumble if what she was straining against was suddenly no-longer there.

In the blink of an eye, King disengaged, her blade still held in front of her as she took a swift step back, the pressure of Excalibur suddenly gone.

Allan Vicman

There was fire all across the yard. The duo were already trying to stay away from the flames that washed over most of the vehicles. Allan could see them take cover behind one of the few cars not set on fire, and watched the door of the house. He waved his hand towards the door mumbling a specific set of words. "Surrender to the greatest hero in the land and you won't be hurt. Come on I'm too pretty to get shot." that last statement set them off as they fired at him.

The sound of gunfire alerted the entire neighborhood. Bullets peppered the ground Allan once stood. The shots died down not seconds after they realized that Allan was missing. Not only that but the fire was gone.. More of the gang came out of the house to help. Just as they opened the front door a glyph glowed brightly for a moment and then blew up shattering the door and injuring anyone standing near it. The two outside ran around the house towards the back looking for a way in that wasn't a trap.

"Not in my house!" A bolt of pure of energy shot at one of the men knocking him off his feet causing severe disorientation and likely a few cracked ribs. A few more bolts zinged past his latest target as he ran through the door. Allan knew going through that backdoor was likely not the best option. Just as it closed he figured there was a more fun way of knocking. A powerful fireball tore through the door just as it was closing back leaving the gangster on the ground trying to cover his face fro the debris. He aimed his gun towards the burning entrance and crawled back hoping to find some cover. A few guys were still conscious inside taking position at the front door weapons gripped with sweaty palms. It was starting to get a lot hotter than it should be even when they were defending themselves from someone like Allan.

Just outside Allan was whistiling a tune as he was spreading flames all over the house. A dangerous and risky strategy to lure out scum, but even as a self proclaimed hero Allan loved this sort of tactic. Especially with many of his boom glyphs set out around the entrances in case he wanted to activate them. It took only a few minutes for the men inside to notice what was going on and another minute or so to run out because of the smoke. Allan waited out front hoping they'd surrender, but instead he immediately told an ultimatum. "Get down on your knees and take off those clothes."

Allan was surprised but recognized him as the first guy who saw the transformation. The other guys around him looked confused for a moment but shrugged. "I could strip for you if you like?" he started pulling up his skirt.

"Shut the hell up and do what you fucking did last time!" He emphasized the obscenity by pressing the barrel up against the poor man's head. Allan sighed as his outfit was consumed in flames. Only his staff and normal clothes were left and the fire that was destroying the house was immediately put out. He already knew what the man was going to say so he slowly put the staff on the ground. "Is that better?" he said disappointment obvious on his face. It was almost like he wanted to strip.

"Yeah, now go to hell." the order was enforced just as he aimed the gun at Allan. In a second the hero snapped his fingers and several explosions went off up under most of the men there. Most were sent flying screaming until their hard landing silenced them. Allan kicked up his staff just as the hostage and his kidnapper were getting up. A ring of fire formed as he twirled his staff. A wave of flames shot towards the last few men still conscious. They were set alight screaming in agony. The feeling of their skin roasting was evident. To the terrified hostage he thought they were burning alive, however just as the flames subsided the men appeared with some burns. The power used on them forced them to feel the pain of being burned but the actual effects were limited.

"You should get out of here right now. I'll call the cops and these guys shouldn't be getting up anytime soon."

"Thank you my name is Dwain," he walked up to Allan to shake his hand. "Please make sure these assholes don't get away. I don't want to deal with them again."

Allan didn't want to really know much about what history he had with these guys. Instead he just smiled and said. "Don't worry," his dress reappeared over him again. "Magical Boy is on the case."

"Umm okay then man. I'm actually going to stay here. You need a witness right?" Allan nodded and took out his cell phone to call the police. The moment they arrive he planned on getting away.

Jettank

It was almost overwhelming. Almost. So many supercriminals had showed up in a city so formerly peaceful. But not for someone like Jettank!

Richard Wells grinned as the monitor for his suit pinpointed the disturbance. It wasn't an active disturbance, but the road had taken a hit here. Something'd happened, that was for sure. Emily's(the AI, not his little sister) analysis systems could pick up on what caused in and put the armored hero on the right track to find out the culprit. It sure didn't look like it was your standard city road maintenance. Jettank's repulsers flared and slowly faded as he came in for a landing. Emily wasn't indicating any threats currently present, so instead he instructed the AI to get its focus on analyzing the data. It seemed like it had been some kind of sharp impact rather then a kind of explosive... There were plenty of supercriminals who were capable of something like that.

Charlotte's question went unanswered as the blonde it was directed at zeroed in on the now-highlighted Blackhawk. With inhuman ease, the vampire hopped from rooftop to rooftop; the blonde put more effort into keeping her parasol in place than crossing the gaps. Sure enough, the elegantly-dressed 'child' alighted on the same roof as the former mercenary and the martial artist, barely stifling a yawn as she perched atop the gable.

"Little girl, if you drop your weapons now and leave, we might be able to avoid any... unpleasantness."
Spartan

With King engaged in a knightly conflict, the far-more-fragile hero continued to keep watch over their downed foe. Transport should be arriving any minute now, after all.
Lucifer

Just as predicted, the IJF had responded to what was clearly an obvious trap: nobody hurt, no villain around, and a hole in the ground. In no reasonable world would a sane person go to investigate such a scenario--but the 'heroic' organisation had bitten, and the Japanese girl was watching from down the street. If one of the corrupt group had bitten, who was she to not try and take them out? Already transformed, it was trivial for the pink-haired 'heroine' to spring into action: launching herself down the street, the first Jettank would know of her arrival was--hopefully--the spinning kick to his gut.

Bank

"Y-yes, ma'ams! I will um... now move far away from the scene of the currently committed crime and stay out of your way by doing... civilian things like calling the cops and milling around like sheep outside of ground zero!" Ran stated with a tremor as she bowed her head and hightailed it out of sight of the superpowered beings and ducking into an empty janitor's closet after picking the lock. Once inside, the somewhat mad scientist began to chuckle darkly as her current outfit shifted into a skintight Variable Suit. "Engage ARMS! Designation... Momoffu-kun!" Glad that she was in a hidden place while the somewhat sparkly transformation was taking place, the girl was soon clad in a costume.

From out the closet stepped what appeared to be a giant monkey wearing a green bowler hat and a bowtie, the personification of children's dreams come true in the shape of a cheerful and cute amusement park mascot. It didn't like a costume either, but rather like a real flesh and blood creature as no seams were shown and the thing had a very interactive emotive face system installed that gave it 100 different facial expressions for any occasion. "Mofu..." Deep within the absurdly cute creature, Mithril smirked. "Acquiring target..." Laying low and setting up a marksman's crouch, the monkey leveled a high powered beanbag gun at the kerfuffle. Targeting sight systems locked onto the villain known as Burnout and flashed its approval as a big green circle flashed around the guy, specifically his lower body. "MOFU!" Then the monkey fired its insidious round with a silenced fwump noise at the villain's crotch. "This is for holding up the bank while it was my turn in line!"

Chapter One:

The Vigilante - Daniel Geyser

(Fight For Freedom)

"You need to run boss! I will cover your back." said a man with his pistol on the trigger as they heard the gun shots getting closer towards the boss's officer. The boss, a man in his thirties that just got his black hair cut, walked towards the emergency door and said, "Thank you, boy.". The screams and the gun shots began to get worst as the boss opened the door and walked out of his office, from the last time.

He then started to run towards the ladder as he felt the warm sun that hit his pale skin and looked towards the clear sky. It was a beautiful day to go to the park and witness the child playing at the playground; but it was also a perfect day to kill.

The boss then heard the gun shots in the office and then a cry of mercy, which was quickly ended by another gun shot. The boss then started to climb down the ladder as he heard the emergency door opened, which caused the boss to let go of the ladder handle. He fell onto the dirt and screamed in pain as he landed on his legs and then looked up to saw a man, wearing a mask. The boss stopped breathing as he saw the man; it looked like Death was going to finally kill him. He then turned and saw his SUV as he got up from the ground and started to limp towards his SUV. The mythical man grinned as he saw the boss limping towards the car and said, “Mr. Dario Marabella. The man, that brought the drug business into Greenfield destroyed lives in the process.” Marabella opened his eyes wide as he heard his name came out of the man's mouth and began to run from the SUV as he shouted, "Stay away from me, you frea-".

The word 'freak' was cut short by a bullet, that went into his left leg and caused Marabella to collapse onto the dirt again. The man walked towards Marabella as he began to cruse in his native language and grabbed him by his jacket and said, "Speak English or I will cap you in the right leg.". Dario chocked up a bit as he spoke towards the man, "Y-y-y-you are messing with the wrong guy, sir. Hear me. You're messing with the wrong person.". The other man grin at Marabella and said to him, "Many people have said that to me and nothing happens, you know why? Because, I kill them before they could cry to their mothers.". The man began to craw towards the wall of his office and started to say, "Well, if you're here to kill me because of the whole drug business, go ahead. You will just get yourself into a huge mess.". The masked person began to laugh and said, "No, I should kill your sorry ass; but, I will spare you if you do me a favor.".

"You kill my man and storm into my office, why should I do you any favors?" said Marabella as he got annoyed by the masked man, then the pistol was near his head. The masked man said, "Because, I got the thing that can make you live or die." and pushed him towards the wall. "Since you're going to do the favor, no matter what you said, I want you to tell the police about me.".

Marabella then looked at him confused and said, "Why do you want to be known?" and then he heard a gunshot as he cried in pain from the shot. "Stop it please! I will do it! I will do it…” said Marabella as he began to cry and the masked man pushed him towards the wall. He collapsed onto the ground as he held on his knee.

"Good. You will also tell them that you're a drug dealer and there are bags of them inside your 'office' or I will find you and kill you myself." said the masked man as he began to walk towards the SUV and then stopped as he heard Marabella's words. "B-b-b-but... I need.... a.... name.".

The man walked towards him and then said, "Call me, 'The Vigilante'.". Marabella laughed and then said, "You're not some 'vigilante'! You killed my men -people living their lives.” The Vigilante grabbed his SUV keys from his jacket pocket and said, "I'm a 'vigilante' because I made such that the bad guys never come back to the streets." He walked towards the SUV and said, "Thanks from the SUV, Mirabella. I will make such to take care of it."

The Vigilante walked towards the car and got inside as he started up the car and began to drive away from the building. Marabella breathed faster and faster as he realized that he just met a so called 'superhero'.

Dragon Fist-Rooftop

Dragon Fist landed in a crouch as his kick failed to connect before shifting into a light-footed cat stance as he pivoted to face the murderous mercenary woman. Even with his challenge for a warning, it surprised the young martial artist that she was able to react quickly enough to avoid his attack. Clearly this was a foe not to be underestimated. Yet, she rebuffed his challenge to her and expected him to step aside so that she could continue her outrageous killings? Truly she must either be a madwoman, or this whole city was completely devoid of honor.

"I need no element of surprise to triumph, but if you think I'm going to stand back while you murder innocent children in broad daylight you're truly little better than a-"

His derision of Blackhawk was interrupted by the sight of a young girl hopping across the roofs even more casually than he had, despite her outrageously impractical and frilly outfit. Clearly this was no ordinary girl, but one of the many more-than-human beings he had heard resided in this strange city. Oddly enough, she seemed to want to resolve this situation peacefully.

Perhaps her youth was the cause of her naivete?

"I mean no disrespect, but if you imply that I should let this...madwoman lay down her arms and go in peace after what she's attempted, then you will have to stop me as well. I have no wish to fight a child, especially one dressed so impractically for combat, but my honor demands nothing less than her death."

"Little girl, if you drop your weapons now and leave, we might be able to avoid any...unpleasantness."

I have no wish to fight a child, especially one dressed so impractically for combat, but my honor demands nothing less than her death."

"Well well, looks like we've got ourselves a free-for-all up here," Blackhawk grinned, grabbing her pistol in her right hand. Both hands now full, she continued "One elite soldier and two freaks. Gotta say, I hope you runts feel as good about the odds as I do, because I'm not putting a damn thing down until your kind are extinct." Two opponents in a free-for-all fight she could handle. But if they both turned on her, she'd need her juice; any other means she had of fighting on par with superhumans were surprise and skill. One of those was out the window and long gone by now.
~Phalanx~

This couldn't be happening. King couldn't have just let off on all the pressure and sent Phalanx stumbling forward. Moreover, Phalanx couldn't have had so hard a time getting her footing straight again. Any other opponent and she'd have bounced back with a counterattack by now. She supposed this fight was also psychological for her; she was facing a true legend right now, after all. The fact was weighing on her concentration.

But she wasn't about to surrender! Surrending in the face of the enemy was far worse than death! No, for now she'd fight. Turning back around to face her enemy, Phalanx brought her left arm around, aiming for King's right shoulder with the spike in the middle. If she could land just one hit, she'd be satisfied with this fight. If not, there was obvious need to re-train herself from the ground up.

Jettank

There was a heavy 'wumph' noise as the kick reverberated through Jettank's armor, sending the armored hero tumbling end over end. He grunted as he rolled, clanging against the asphault. Well, this certainly wasn't anything he'd suspected going down to check out the damage. There was a roar as his repulsers activated, sending him back upright as he shifted to get a good look at his attacker. So, that's who it was? It wasn't too hard to guess that the damage had been a trap... His armor hadn't taken any damage. The kick had been a nasty jolt, but other then that, he was fine.

"I don't know what you're playing at..." he began, "But I'm going to take you in!"

Panels on both his arms flicked aside, and the mini-gatling guns snapped out and opened fire, spraying stun rounds!
King

King's blade snaps up, the small girl bringing the flat of Excalibur's hazy form to clash against the blade. She took it in, the spike on the tip of the gauntlet. It was another weapon to be aware of, capable of swifter and less-noticeable attacks. However, King would not allow it to strike her. She refused to allow it to get through. Putting on a burst of strength, King stepped forward and pushed. It was a simple tactic, really, but given the situation it was effective. Before Phalanx could react, King intended to push her back and force her to leave an opening, allowing King to swiftly disable her before the other girl could move to defend herself once more.

The blonde gave the young man a disparaging look, both for the age comment and his insistence on capital punishment. "I have no desire to fight someone so naive as to think I'm merely as old as I look, either, but I can't accept murder for the sake of avenging attempted murder. Your honour is going to be tarnished, boy."

The dramatic pronouncement was accompanied by mist spreading across the rooftop--seemingly coming from under the vampire's dress. She could turn her entire body into mist; simply generating it was a matter of beginning the process but not completing it. As a bonus, it would help Charlotte find the right point, which would even the odds in favour of not having anyone die at all.

"If you refuse to let her live, it seems that I'll be fighting you and that freak of a soldier."
Lucifer

Kick successful, the girl took stock of her opponent. Jettank's abilities were too public knowledge for his own good--and having worked in the IJF, it was even clearer what the suit's abilities and limitations were. It was clear that her only real option for disabling him entirely was to kick hard enough to overcome whatever stopped the force of impacts from cracking his bones, or to slice enough of the armour that it would be rendered nonfunctional. Neither was particularly easy against a fighter with so many ranged attacks.

The pink-haired angel paused for a split second as the gatling guns opened fire, then ran straight into the hail. More than simply dodging and weaving, Lucifer appeared to be performing an aerial ballet to avoid getting struck. Increasingly, she avoided them simply by being above the majority but that didn't put Jettank out of the reach of an arm-targeting slash!

The Greenfield Quarry
(note: <<text>> indicates it's translated from Japanese.

In the lot where quarry workers ate their lunches, a strange monster held a foreman above his head. Equal parts bat, spider, and humanoid, it clutched at the worker's throat, grabbing his hard hat and tossing it aside.

"Wh-what do you wa-"

<<"Cram it, human! Stop screaming gibberish and answer me: where is that asshat RACER KING?!">>

"Th... the hell are you saying?"

<<"I... ugh.">> The monster growled, tossing the foreman into a plastic table. It began advancing, crushing a plastic chair between its hands as it reached down to pick him up. Then, however, a voice piped up from behind him.

<<"You... do know he probably doesn't speak Japanese, right?">>

The monster dropped the foreman, who scrambled away, and turned to face the source of the voice. A man in a grey suit, with a large silver belt. <<"Ah, good... someone who's smart enough to stop screaming gibberish! Now, I don't know what kind of ass-backwards society this is that you're living in the middle of a field of rocks, and I don't care. Just tell me where this 'Racer King' is, and I might only eat PART of you! GAHAHAHA!">>

The man tilted his head. <<"Hey, it's Spider-Bat, right? Aren't you supposed to be doing ten to twenty in Kasoku Penitentiary? You're eligible for parole soon, but this doesn't look good. I might be able to help, if you care to offer an explanation for one, how and why you broke out, two, how and why you're in America, and three, why you've forgotten the guy who arrested you?">>

The monster pointed to him. <<"Okay, first: I'm not Private Spider-Bat, I'm his brother in law, Brigadier Bat-Spider! You humans have taken him as a prisoner of war! Second, what the flying fuck is an America?! And third... wait...">> The monster's eyes- all eight of them- grew wide with fury. <<"YOU! You're the one who arrested him! That means...">>

A third, artificial voice joined the conversation. <<"Took you long enough! First, yes! This is Tendo Godai, Racer King! Second, yes! Your brother was imprisoned after he stood trial for his crimes. Oddly enough, he's been a model prisoner... But getting back on track, third: You're under arrest!">>

<<"GAHAHAHA... We'll see about that...">> Bat-Spider said, thrusting his arm forward and tossing a few of the plastic chairs at the policeman. <<"Supermass Zone! Condense!">>

The gravity of the area pulled harder and harder as time slowed to a crawl, but Tendo stood up as best he could. <<"Mr. Belt, add resisting arrest to the list of charges. Fire up...">> The artificial voice and the suited man's united. <<"IGNITION! Racer suit, Accelerate!">> A heavy gust of wind and the crack of a sonicboom accompanied the suit appearing around Tendo. <<"It only takes about one nanosecond to complete the acceleration process... but I'm not going to bore you with the details!>>

With that, Racer King began advancing on Brigadier Bat-Spider, knocking the flying chairs aside. <<"Brigadier Bat-Spider! You are under arrest! The charges: Entering a country without a duly notarized passport! Intimidation! Destruction of private property! Interrupting the operations of-">> at this, a blast of webbing landed right across the racer suit's faceplate.

<<"Like I care! My brother in law might be the kind of guy who just picks stuff that spooks wherever we're invading, but I've done my homework! I know JUST how strong and sticky a spider's web is... perfect for dealing with a speedy asshat like you!">>

Dragon Fist paused for a moment, considering the obvious change in the situation. The fight to punish this murderous woman was obviously more complicated than he had first anticipated, and judging by the way she had arrived on the rooftop, had spoken previously and was now transforming or generating some sort of strange mist, the 'young girl' was clearly not what she initially appeared to be.

On the other hand, this made fighting her much easier on his conscience. As an individual of unknown power, she was the most sensible one to go after first. After the obstacle she represented was removed he could deal with the mercenary. With that in mind he ran toward the Blackhawk, then coiled up all of the strength in his legs in an attempt to spring into the air, leaping over her and her machete to attempt a Flying Dragon Kick on Karnstein. The move that would typically be restricted to showy demonstrations or over-the-top media for an ordinary fighter could be executed with surprising accuracy by the masked martial artist and done with the intention of both carrying him above the spreading mist and striking the girl hard from an unexpected angle. That is, if he actually pulled it off.

A short figure walked down a sidewalk, kicking small stones and muttering. A stone bounced off the wall, rolling back to their feet. The figure cursed, lifting up a leg and crushing the stone into the sidewalk. The skin on their knuckles were broken, blood slowly dripping off.

Eve growled again and resumed walking. Today was just like every other day. She woke up, went to work, dealt with creeps, and left work. The only good thing about today was visiting Tiffany, and that was a mixed blessing. She got to see her beloved sister, but it was also a reminder that Tiffany would never walk again. Eve sighed, adjusting her fedora and shoving her hands in the pocket of the black jeans she wore. Her knuckles stung, and the blood that adorned them wasn't just hers. Another sleaze had learned not to mess with her, thats for sure.

Suddenly, she came to a stop in front of a certain shop. It was a small, brick building with a large green sign above the doorway. It boasted rows of flowers, from poppies to irises. Eve scanned over the blossoms inhaling slightly. She gave in and pushed the door open, stepping onto the cool hardwood floor. Fragrance hit her nose immediately, so sharp it made her sneeze. Looking up from behind the wooden counter, a small, short woman greeted her.

"Hello there, how can I help you?" The woman's had unruly grey hair, which was tied in a loose bun at the back of her head, stray hairs falling onto her forehead. She had a cotton button up shirt, complete with an apron covering her long skirt and a name tag, which had the name Hilda in bold letters.

Looking around, a particular bunch of flowers caught her eye. They were lilies, delicate and white with pink tints on the edges of the long petals. Eve waved the shopkeeper over, pointing to the flowers.

"Will that me all for you today miss?" The woman's voice was sickly sweet and obviously fake, and it made Eve cringe inside. She nodded, taking out the correct amount of money and slamming it on the counter. The woman flinched, smile faltering.

"Yes." She replied, tone harsh as her hands accepted the bundle of flowers. Hilda's voice was getting on her nerves, and her knuckles still stung. She had been aggressive for much less before.

Eve quickly left the shop, pushing past throngs of people on the way to the bank. She knew that there was a robbery, and also that it was obviously being handled. No way would the hang around those idiots. The last encounter with a so called hero left her with a rather bad impression of them, unless you consider causing massive damage and hurting innocents a heroic act. Five minutes later, she had arrived at the hospital. Tiffany had been admitted there the previous month for more physical treatment, and Eve had to walk across the city to get to her. The nurses were mostly kind, and more than once they could find the two sisters curled up on the hospital bed.

After walking up a flight of stairs and to the left down a hallway, her destination had been reached. Room 203, where her sister resided. Eve pushed open the white door with her foot, being careful incase Tiffany was asleep. Instead, she was sitting up, a large book on top of the blanket sprawled across her lap.

"Hey sis!" Tiffany's smile was bright, and Eve could feel the corners of her own mouth twitch at the sight. Only here, at Tiffany's side could she feel truly at home. She was wanted here, and wasn't treated like a monster. She walked towards the hospital bed, sitting on the edge of the bleached white sheets.

"Hey. Got you something" Eve replied, presenting the bouquet to the small girl. Tiffany's eyes widened, and a grin broke out across her face. She accepted the flowers, placing them on a nightstand next to her bed. Lilies had always been adored by Tiffany. Even with funds that weren't as great as one would expect for two daughters of a wealthy salesman, Eve tried her best to make the only person she honestly cared about comfortable. No one knew who they actually were, just two strange girls who came two the hospital one day, one severely injured. The doctors had pitied them, and hadn't pried into the past. Eve was thankful for that. It meant she wouldn't have to break another persons nose.

"Oh, I love them. Anyway, do ya think you could help me with this math problem?" Eve rolled her eyes, reaching over and taking the book from her hands. The two studied together, unaware of the chaos ensuing in the city.

Agony.

Pure, blinding, mind-numbing agony. All of his senses were aflame, and they all said the same thing: He was in pain. Blood poured down his mouth and the open wound. There was a dull feeling to his sense of hearing that faded as he realized he was drowning out his own screams. He lifted a hand to the open wound, feeling nothing but blood and sinew. To make matters worse, his jaw felt as if it was threatening to fall apart. In hindsight, he would later recall that it, in fact, was falling apart, and would have had he not intervened as quickly as he did. Grabbing a needle and thread, he began to pull the torn flesh together. Each push of the needle, each pull of the thread hurt like hell, but he knew he had to do it.

When he was finished, he looked at his handiwork in the mirror. It would do for now, but when he got his hands on HIM, the man would pay. Dearly.

Present Day

Ben was dressed in a business suit, with a vest. He smirked at his image reflected from a nearby shop window, but winced at his scar. None of the five women he'd ever loved had even seen him shirtless, though they knew it was all scars from the neck down. The one on his mouth, inescapable in his civilian identity, was the only one he'd ever displayed merely because he couldn't show his face without it. Despite having been cleaned of blood, it still looked as disturbing as the night he'd received it, and thus, it needed a cover story as much as he. Though it was not the most....angry of his scars, he was proud of it, in a sense, given how skilled the man from whom he received it was. His pride for it, though, did not mean he would display it as proudly as a soldier did their medals.

Currently, he was on his way into the city, having just come from years abroad in London. Ben was in the airport, to be exact, and he had just come from baggage claims and was walking into the customs line. His suit was in his carryon, and as he rarely used weapons, he was cleared. Oddly though, he was pulled aside into the security booth by an abnormally tall, well built man in his late twenties. The man was the first to speak. "Hello Mr...Hoffman. Welcome to Greenfield, I just need to ask you a few questions."

Ben nodded, sizing up his tactical advantages as the man fired off his introduction in a clipped, well practiced, yet bored tone. He has the height, but he's favoring his left leg more so than his right. Target the knee first, bring him down to a more level field. The build is a little slimmer though, so he may be a more agile fighter. It continued like that even as he answered the man's questions, diverting at least 50% of his attention to combat analysis at all times. Then, it happened. The guard got up and gave a vague "I'm going to get some water." before getting up, faking to go to the door as he gripped the holster of his Glock. Ben reacted quickly, barely giving any time for thought as he gripped the hand, putting pressure on the web between thumb and pointer finger, to the point he drew blood. Yanking upward, he slipped easily into a thumblock which he used to segue into bouncing his adversary's head against the steel desk. Instantaneous loss of consciousness.

Walking out with his suitcase, he calmly slipped into the crowd and walked out the airport. The Wraith had come to Greenfield.

~Blackhawk~

"If you refuse to let her live, it seems that I'll be fighting you and that freak of a soldier."

"I'm pretty sure you're the freaks here," Blackhawk retorted, greatly offended at being called a freak herself. Her job was to dispose of freaks, so naturally, being dubbed one didn't sit well with the woman. And hey, what do you know, instead of having to go out and find one, two freaks wound up coming to her because she'd just been making an attempt on a third one. Talk about a good deal!

The boy leapt up, above Blackhawk. His target must have been the girl. Golden opportunity. Taking a few quick steps back for good measure, Blackhawk took a moment to holster her pistol. A free-for-all between her and two freaks wasn't exactly the most favorable battle, so she'd have to put herself on even ground. Blackhawk's now-empty right hand made a move for the pouch on her leg, keeping her left hand tight on her machete. She'd need her juice for this fight.
~Phalanx~

Phalanx recoiled back with the force of King's push. King was stronger and faster; this fight was proving that. From the start, she'd barely had time to react to the moves King was making. It was obvious that once this was over, she'd have to retrain herself and her men from the ground up.

For now, it was the best she could do to keep her shield up as best she could. There was always the possibility that she could just stall the fight until King had tired out, but Phalanx was well aware that odds were her own energy would run out before her foe's.
~Necrohead~

With a audible bumping noise, Necrohead slammed her head into Burnout's. Then took a few steps back, just in case. She gave him a moment to finally collapse, but...this guy still refused to go down? And here Necrohead thought she was tough; this guy had to have been wearing some kind of super armor.
