No worries, I mean, it's your call really- it's still Drop Infantry, it's just if you want a particular affiliation, you could be in a unit that happens to be attached to a unit (Blyskawica) that is attached to the TF...hope I still have you here!

Also, one thing of note- everyone's a bit highly ranked. I assume that they're leaders of these teams- just wondering, it's a bit frantic and all.

I thought the same thing at first, but the more I considered it the more I think it's justified in a way.

I mean, think of air force pilots. You have to be an officer to fly. I would imagine operating a piece of hardware like a mech would have a similar requirement in this world. Although, I'm not the GM, so it's just an opinion.

I do have to say, I'm with you on wanting to see more infantry in the game. These mechs should be a valuable resource, not a rock'em sock'em robot.

Exactly. They have a precise military usage- so bipedals/quads are respectively done, but melee combat isn't likely. You don't see tanks going toe to toe- so why a mech? Chances are, it'll be similar to almost commanding a tank, if my view is shared with the GM. With infantry on those officierial ranks, it's just a bit aloof- but I see your point.

Hmm. I think I'm gonna change some of Alec's gear. 400 feet? Jebus. Give him a bit more tech. Cause that's how I see him. Kind of a techy sniper. I might say he and Jan work together. It's all the same to me.

Loki, it's spelled Mecha, not Meahc. Seriously.

Also, being Reckless in the military isn't going to get you promoted and given a personal Mecha suit.

Name: Malcolm Oliver

Age: 35

Gender:Male

Appearance:

Background:
Malcolm was born in Sheffield, England to a father in the construction business and an accountant mother. His life growing up was rather normal, his main interest during his childhood and teenage years was football. He was a proud supporter of Arsenal FC and was almost considered for one of the year teams until he broke his leg just before the trials started. It was around that time that he gave up football and began seeking a job. He tried himself out at a few offices here and there and at one point went working with his father at his construction job, but none of it felt right for Malcolm. After much consideration, he eventually decided to join the army but decided against being trained for a mech. He never liked the look of mechs, they were too big, one slip up and you've crushed an orphanage and killed all inside of it. He was placed in a recon division and found himself better with actual combat than he was with scouting ahead.
Rank: Staff Sergeant

Unit: Drop infantry, Recon

Role: Rifleman

I'm curious to hear what the GM thinks of everything so far before I go ahead and make something.

Haven't read through everyone's cs's yet, but I like quite a few, I'm going to be making a demolitions specialist

We do need more infantry. I almost made Alec a demolitions expert but chose a sniper instead. More fun to be sneaky.

So I'm noticing a jump in infantry, I would just like to point out that my platoon needs infantry. We are a mix of Mechs and troops using a walker to deploy them at the objective for shock and awe. The Mechs cover the walkers advance and the Patton (my Mech) punches a hole in the target then inserts the troops.

I might say Alec would be a part of your platoon. If possible. Being a scout for the platoon. Covering from the top or being able to scout ahead of Patton and it's escorts. Or staying inside to add support. I just like the idea if the platoon.

Sure I'd be more than happy to take on a scout and anyone else I do have room in the Patton. By the way the troops on board do need to be coherent squad after all you will be taking buildings and such.

Sweet. So the squad's got a sniper. All good squads need one of those.

I'm noticing that we are pretty much lacking anyone in a support role, think I'm going to be making a medic. We may be in big stompy mechs but inside we're still squishy humans, yeah?
