Name: McKnight, Sterling
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Rank: Staff Sergeant
Background:
Born and raised in Seattle, Sterling was the middle son of 3. He was a bit of a trouble child, and had a penchant for causing trouble, whether at home, or in the neighborhood, from petty tricks, to getting into fights with other children. The son of a police officer and scientist, Sterling never saw much of his parents, and spent most of his waking childhood under the care of his older brother, who was a good 7 years older than he was. After several years of causing trouble at a grade school level, Vincent was sent off to a military boarding school.
Boarding school had a moderate effect on him, teaching him discipline and confidence, though he was never able to fully kick the mischievous habits, and was commonly regarded as the school jokester and troublemaker. Despite being far away from home, Sterling managed to keep a positive relationship with his siblings, though his relationship with his parents grew increasingly strained. He graduated from the his boarding school with decent marks, and upon returning to his home in Seattle, Sterling went and signed on with the US Marines.
Taking on a role as an infantryman, Sterling specialized in the handling of explosive ordnance. Sterling spent the next 8 years on active duty, deploying to all parts of the globe, and taking on all sorts of missions: from hunting insurgent cells in Europe to providing aid to a stabilizing Middle East. Advancing steadily through ranks of the US Marine Corps, Sterling made Staff Sergeant in 7 years. Following a recommendation from a superior officer, Sterling applied for a position in Joint Task Force Aegis.
After completing the Task Force's tough physical and mental screening, as well as their various assessments and training, Sterling was granted a position in the Task Force as a demolitions expert.
Unit: 'Hard Knockers' 1st Platoon
Role: Demolitions
Equipment:
The newest model of the tried and true PTX-01 Combat Exoskeleton, the Mk II- designated 'Atlas' was designed to supplement, not replace, its Mk I variant. While the Mk I is a suitable, general purpose exoskeleton for use by general infantry, the Mk II Atlas is designed for soldiers with heavier loads. While having neither the size nor strength of a PTX-04 Juggernaut suit, the Atlas is suitable for infantry that require high mobility while carrying heavy weapons. The Atlas is built with a durable and powerful frame, and is integrated with armor to protect major portions of the body. It drastically increases strength and movement capabilities, and built in mico-missile launcher on its shoulder. The Micro-Missile Launcher fires a small flurry of 3-6 missiles at either one or multiple targets, and the warheads can be switched for anti-infantry or anti-armor roles. The Atlas comes with a protective helmet that allows the user to interface with his suit's functions.
