Leonid Sergeievich Kusnetsov. 43. 16th April 1898

Personality: Calm and collected, Leonid's years in the army have hardened his personality. Though he still tries to act as a sort of mentor to the younger conscripts. He's a dedicated Communist, though he secretly resents the current state of the USSR under Stalin.

Brief history: Born in 1898 in Kazakhstan, Leonid hails from a family of miners. The young Leonid joined the Czarist army, spurred on by patriotic fervor, in 1915. The abysmal conditions of the Polish front pushed the young conscript to the edge, and when the Revolution came he gladly defected to the Bolsheviks.

Leonid fought in the Civil War and the Polish-Soviet War under the command of Trostsky and Tukachevsky, and it was his not so secret admiration for these two great men that led to his discharge in the mid-1930s, somehow avoiding death during the Great Purge. When the Winter War started Leonid tried to returned to the Red Army, to fight for his Motherland.

Ondrej Zaburdajev

Full name: Ondrej Anton Zaburdajev

Personality: Ondrej would've been the perfect political officer if it hadn't been for his love of combat -- he was invited into the political officers' brigade, but declined due to his wish to serve in the regular infantry. He was then promoted to be an officer due to his political alignment with the communists, his favorable skills in leadership, combat and sacrificial tendencies.

He is brotherly outside of combat, opting to give his men rest, food, drink and a warm fire at night over a forced march. As an officer, he is not supposed to mingle with his men too much outside of combat -- however this is unavoidable during prolonged campaigns -- so he has chosen to simply accept that it happens and to embrace it. In battle, however, he expects his orders to be followed down to the comma's, full stops and exclamation marks. As was said, he was invited to the political officers' brigade, which should say enough about what happens if you ignore orders.

He's a firm communist, believing that revolution should bring equality all over the world. Therefore he shouts the words 'Za roduna, za Stalina!' with much pleasure, as he believes in the great leader Iosef Stalin. Therefore he believes that the liberation of German lands will only benefit the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. In short: stay on Ondrej's good side.
Brief history: Ondrej served in the army during the assault on Poland, where the Soviets and the Germans divided the Polish lands as if it were a cake waiting to be shared. And even though he felt compassion for the Polish, he served the goals of the Soviet Union because he'd realized that the people were better off under proper, communist Soviet rule. The people in Poland weren't really being oppressed either way -- he felt he was doing them a service.

During the few years of peace that he had, he spent most of his time getting accustomed to serving with a squad, as he had been appointed squad leader by now. He was taught basic squad tactics, leadership and communication. He got accustomed with a radio and has some experience communicating between a tank and himself. He got pushed back into the front and was involved in the initial defence of Leningrad, fighting amongstside heroes of the Union and common infantry alike.

It appears that he was chosen to lead the initial charge on the city due to his brutal effectiveness in head on combat, fearlessness and other such things however this remains to be proven -- he can succeed or fail depending on his team.

Personality:Sergei can be described as a timid and reluctant youth. He is mostly a pacifist and fighting this war was not his choice. He’s easy to intimidate and to control, often getting himself into a mess. He doesn’t talk much, unless called upon, and struggles to find spiritual meaning to his life and others.
Brief history: Sergei was born to Mikhail and Marika Volkov, in a small village in western Russia. He was the second born, out of four siblings. The Volkov family lived like many other families in their town - poorly off and financially struggling. Mikhail worked as a blacksmith while Marika was the stay at home mother type, sewing and hemming the clothing of the village people, to make a little extra money on the side. Once Sergei turned twelve, he was pulled out of school and was set to help his father and older brother run the blacksmith business. This instilled dedication and obedience in him, as well as a fear for his elders. At age sixteen, Sergei met and fell in love with girl named Dominika Pertrov. They were engaged a year and a half later.

Only days after his eighteenth birthday, Sergei received a conscription letter. He was the first of the Volkov family to be conscripted, as somehow his older brother had been over looked. Sergei was forced to leave his family, the blacksmith business, and Dominika behind and was sent off to a war he did not want to fight.

Jermjia Turov

Jermjia stands 6’4, brown eyes and the average skin complextion as a Russian. Thick Russian accent, strong build. Growing a beard, at the moment.

Personality:
Jermjia overall is a calm person. He speaks when needed and understands the chain of command well. He is known to however processes a moral code, and doesn’t act on impulse. Jermjia takes his duty seriously, and also makes sure that he gives it all 110% percent, whatever the weather or the scenario. Jermjia often also tends to think things through, and plans out his way of approach. He is often known to be laid back in non-combat scenario’s, and often going for a glass of vodka or a cigar to calm himself down and relax.

Brief history:

Jermjia lived in a small Russian village with a population of over 300 people. Jermjia’s father Dmirti was involved in the militia. Nothing really that big, a group of 20-25 men armed with basic rifles. Most of their attacks were really on wildlife that strayed into the town, to the bandit/thief trying to rob. It was really a small time “army” one can say.

Jermjia received basic training, but also a lot of endurance and strength training from the local village gym, and the militia training drills. At the age of 16 he recorded his first kill, by murdering a rapist a few meters on the outskirts.

When the Soviet Army called for young recruits, Jermjia heeded the call. He left with one of his brothers (The youngest one was only 10 at this time). They took the train to the local town and enrolled, before they were on a train to train in the forces.

Training for Jermjia was normal, from his time as a militia member it served him well. Gun drills was an problem early on, but he got better and better. Jermjia focused more on light machine guns and SMGS. He for the first few months served in a local outpost and barracks. Armed with his DP MG, and having a Sub Machine Gun nearby, it was often easy picking for him

The Deployment in the outpost introduced him to various people, but also it allowed him to get a sense of this fascist threat. Jermjia wasn’t really a fan of politics. He hated the local banter at the tavern in his village for who would be mayor. But when he managed to learn of it, it increased his will for fighting and in turn, he requested another
transfer. He was introduced to the 16th rifle Division
