Name: Gerolf Schults

Occupation: PMC officer

Nationality: German

Gender: Male

Age: 42

Alma Mater: Heidelberg University

Personality: Gerolf is the Silver Talon Company's voice of reason. A veteran of many years he keeps level headed in situations. He see's the company as his family and will do whatever it takes to defend them including killing and dying. Still he sympathizes with people and often has strong moral objections to certain actions.

Brief Bio: Gerolfs parents were holocaust survivors. Some of the few who chose to remain in Germany after World War 2.The Schults family was a large one. Gerolf had two older sisters and a younger brother. Many people despised his family. Even after the war many people still disliked Jews. Gerolf grew up with this discrimination. Still despite this he applied himself in school and eventually found himself studying communications and engineering in one of Germany's most prestigious universities.
Gerolf often received death threats and warnings to drop out of the college. He never took any of them seriously. At least he never did until he finally graduated. When he returned home he found his entire family dead with a swastika drawn on the wall. Gerolf couldn't believe what he had seen. What's worse was he knew who did it or at least he had a good idea.
There was a local underground group of Neo-Nazis in Gerolf's home town. He had often seen members entering and exiting an abandoned building. He knew that had to be their hideout. Using the skills he had learned in school he bugged the abandoned building. He relentlessly spied on them for weeks. Eventually it became clear who the guilty party was. Gerolf knew he would have his revenge. He bought some concealing clothing and stalked the man until he found his chance. He took a tire iron to the mans kneecaps and drowned him in a river.
Gerolf had expected some sort of healing or fulfillment would occur from avenging his family. Still he felt as empty inside as when they had died. He couldn't go on like this. Gerolf decided to leave the country. He had made sure not to leave any evidence of his murder but still he couldn't stay in the land his family had died. He had gotten word from a old high school friend of his going off to join some private military company called Silver Talon. He decided to follow his friend. After all what did he have left to lose?
Upon joining Silver Talon Gerolf definitely seemed out of place. He was a well educated man brooding with emotion hanging around a bunch of careless drunks who shot guns for money. Still over time the company and the people there grew on him. Perhaps it was the trust that was built from relying on others in a warzone. perhaps these carefree men was exactly what Gerolf needed to fill the whole in his heart. For whatever reason they became like family to him. He stayed with the company for many years. He became a well respected veteran of the company. He did oppose The Silver Talon's joining UNKRCI but Commander Walters decision was final.

Other:No Brown M&Ms. Gerolf speaks English and German. He is also trained as a tank operator.

Name: Thomas Glasgow

Occupation: Geneticists, and a Bio-Engineer

Nationality: Australian

Gender: Male

Age: 38

Alma Mater: Harvard
Personality: Thomas prefers the solitude of the white gloves lab he doesn't talk to other people much, and he is a complete workaholic often staying in the lab late into the night, the quickest way to get him to open up to you is bring him coffee he loves coffee, but other than that he normally shrugs off all human presence, he also seems to be able to remember everything he's read perfectly he can even remember entire books he read when he was five.

Brief Bio: Thomas was born into an academic family, his father was a history professor and his mother taught high school mathematics. His life growing up was the drilling of constant facts, and books retained away in his memory. His childhood was not normal, even when he went to school instead of exploring or going to the beach he was in doors studying for homework his teachers didn't even assign so he could be the best and the brightest.

This was his life day in and day out, until he got accepted into Harvard, only there was he free from his parents tyrannical grasp. But still due to classes he never got to do what he wanted to do, he never got to experience what love is like, or having friends so he shut himself off rather than look like an idiot. After college he started studying genetics and some of his work on it was amazing. He became world famous over night for his ability to cut out bad genetics in, in-virtro children making it a more popular choice of child rearing for those with money.

When the Kaiju hit he found himself at the forefront of a new problem, he studied Kaiju genetics to figure out how they came to be, he didn't seem to find anything. But then again the lab crew he was working with was incompetent, underfunded, and eventually disbanded due to red tape. But his notes somehow ended up in the hands of someone at the white gloves and he was offered a chance to study the Kaiju in a real lab, with a better crew. So he took it.

Other:No brown M&M's, Thomas also is an expert on many forms of coding language.

Just to let people know if they want to I give full permission to create characters who are part of Silver Talon. I think it would be pretty cool if they played a major role in the rp.

Name: Mark Shao (Chinese name Shao Mingqi)

Occupation: Robotics expert, specializing in ability-augmenting exoskeletons and suits. However, this wasn't his first field to study in and is decently proficient in other branches of robotics.

Nationality: Sino-American

Gender: Male

Age: 26

Alma Mater: De La Salle University, a Tier 1 Catholic college located in Manila, the Philippines. Majored in mechanical engineering and minored in psychology.

Personality: From first glance, you probably couldn't tell how smart Mark is. He is a handsome yet somehow slightly irresponsible young man of Chinese descent, and more often found with a beer bottle or a shirt with a cocky saying rather than a remote control or a welder. He prefers to keep his social and professional lives distinctly apart. Therefore, the friends he makes from both spectrums of life tend to conflict with each other. He avoids talking about robotics during non-professional situations unless called upon. If he is asked to, however, he is clearly knowledgable about his area of expertise. He is primarily interested in Ability augmenting eXoskELetons (AXEL), a U.S government project dedicated to building robotic exoskeletons that Mark reluctantly left for the UNKRCI, under heavy pressure from his peers and own self-conscience.

When one does locate Mark in a professional environment, he often takes on the semblance of his creations: rather... lifeless. Not cold, but an unsettling aura of 'cool'. He isn't easily distracted. However, this may be his downfall. If a project requires him to work overtime, he sure as hell does. His colleagues back at the AXEL labs have oft observed him not sleeping for more than twenty-four hours at once, hazy eyes behind coffee-stained glasses not daring once to stray from the computer screen. However, those same colleagues have also observed him in the obviously risky and occasionally humorous process of testing out his exoskeletons himself.

Brief Bio:

Mark was born in Beijing, China, in the autumn of 1988 to an American journalist and Chinese schoolteacher in an average middle-class district. His mother, somewhat ironically, taught his grade-school class. Mark's elementary school life was considerably different to that of the ordinary Chinese boy. Mark went to one of the few and more relaxed American international schools in the country, the tuition of which Mark's father worked long, dreary overtime hours to provide. Mark spent his tuition wisely. His mother, like many, many, many others, was a homework addict. Mark got the best of both worlds. Foreign education is what Mark partly owns to his open-mindedness and democratic ideology. Meanwhile, his mother's sheer discipline and glorifying of China is what Mark owes to his strong professional work ethic and beautifully fluent Mandarin Chinese. He was the star of the family. Not so like his brother.

The brother he never had.

Even his father, who was a spectacular storyteller, was reluctant to relate to his seven-year-old son the events of 1989, Tiananmen Square. Only after repeated questions about an extra guest room in the house and anti-Communist paraphernalia hidden in the attic did he dare to tell the tale. When Mark was barely a year old, his brother was an extremely aggressive anti-Communist Party high school dropout. He ranted on and on to his parents about how horrific the tragedies were behind Chinese prisons, and how he would free them someday. His mother sobbed while his father simply shook his head. His brother refused to listen. Eventually, on April 15, 1989 - the anniversary of Julius Caesar's death, his father told him - Mark's brother joined the growing mob of protesters at Tiananmen Square.

On June 4, 1989, the unthinkable happened.

The Shaos were about to pack up their miniature camp just outside the Square, losing all hope in their eldest son's return, when the shots rang out. Mark's father knew how to safely and effectively dodge rifle shots from years in war reporting, and safely ushered his family to safety. A week later, a violent knock came on the door. Communist soldiers threw a body bag at Mark's mother's feet.

They buried the body in their local cemetery. Mark strictly and regularly visits his brother's grave during the Tiananmen Square anniversary, on June 4, even if it means having to avoid kaiju for a day or two.

Upon orders from his employers, Mark's parents moved to the Philippines when Mark was twelve, in 2001. Mark's father was assigned to be an American envoy to the Philippine military and the prime expert on all their actions. A memorable experience was when Mark's father invited his son to train at a Philippine Marine boot camp for a day. Mark, inevitably, failed miserably. He often wondered if there was an alternative to hellish amounts of reps to become a good soldier. He would often draw vague yet somehow elaborate sketches of super suits that would amplify a person's normal abilities to that of a decathlete's. He was in particular inspired by the Iron Man comics and still has a secret collection in his desk at the White Gloves today. Mark decided to take the initiation test for De La Salle University, especially because of its status as one of the only universities in the Philippines that offered mechanical engineering. Mark passed with flying colors and graduated in 2009 with a major in mechanical engineering and a minor in psychology, a course that Mark found somewhat fascinating.

Mark decided to stay at the university for a while as an academic and left his brain to it. On the eve of the Philippine Independence Day in 2011, Mark demonstrated his first and probably dodgiest exoskeleton, nicknamed Buddy, in front of fifty Filipino Marines and their superiors. When Mark's family moved to America in 2012, the American military had heard all about his exploits from reports from military superiors in the Philippines and invited Mark to try out his inventions in Stanford University. With a little help from a brigadier-general friend in the Marines, Mark eventually developed the AXEL program on behalf of the government of the United States. Unfortunately, only two years into the program, Mark was highly encouraged by his father, colleagues and the military to join the White Gloves. Though he was sad to leave his AXEL program for a while, Mark eagerly continues developing exoskeletons for the UNKRCI, in the hopes that soldiers from all around the world will use them to combat this new threat.

Other: No brown M&Ms. Mark speaks English with a soft, almost undetectable Southern accent, beautiful Mandarin, and conversational Tagalog. Avid readers of Popular Science might recognize him from the cover page of the March 2015 issue, around the time of the Okinawa attack.

Also, to "unwind" from hectic work days at the lab, Mark has his own comedy/gaming YouTube channel named BawShao, set up in January 2015. He acts so unlike his usual professional cool that many people don't know who he actually is. However, also for security reasons Mark has also been required to announce a hiatus on his account upon joining the White Gloves.

Work in progress:

Name: Alekos Diakopi

Occupation: Ethologist - He studies animal behavior.

Nationality: Greek

Gender: Male

Age: 28

Alma Mater: University of Crete.

Personality: Alekos is a generally hard-working and calm kind of person. He is dedicated to his work, but not to the point of obsession. He is naturally curious and is usually the first to arrive at the scene of something interesting, or unexplained, or generally unusual. Despite being dedicated to his work and curious, he still enjoys a good prank or joke, as long as it isn't anything too extreme. Of course, he is intelligent and normally uses complicated words in a sentence, only to have to repeat the sentence again in simpler language to confused people.

Brief Bio: Alekos was born on the ancient Greek island of Crete, in the coastal city. He was born into a rather laid back family - his father was a competitive boxer, and his mother was unemployed. Because of this, he was never pushed to do well academically, and even though his older brother had dropped out of school and gone from job to job, his parents told him that whatever he did was okay, as long as he had a job. Despite this, he still felt that he needed to push himself academically, and therefore applied himself at school more than the rest of his family.

Alekos was never bullied at school. He wasn't exceedingly popular, but he still had a large group of close friends. He was well liked by the teachers, and received good grades all the way through school. He excelled in maths, history and geography, but he was always a scientistat heart. He loved going out birdwatching after school and catching insects and putting them in vivariums.

When the time came to choose a university to go to, he knew he wanted to study ethology, also known as the study of animal behaviour. But the main decision was to go off island or stay in Crete. Alekos, after a final decision, chose the University of Crete, the best University on his home island. Alekos breezed through university, just like school, and graduated easily. After university, he was hired by the local museum as a researcher. This was where he worked for 5 years, before something happened.

A kaiju attacked an island near Crete. It was like a giant hound. The attack killed several, and injured many more. A group of researchers from Alekos's museum were chosen to study the scene. Of course, Alekos was among these. The scene was awful. The kaiju had cut a large path straight through a tourist area. People said the creature had eaten people, then simply trudged on and disappeared into the hole from which it came. Alekos, since these creatures had begun attacking, had always thought that something must be driving them. What could it be? Alekos verablly voiced his theories out loud, and a group of White Glove researchers came up to him. They said they liked his theories, and offered him a job with them. It was a tough decision, but Alekos accepted.

Other: No brown M&Ms. Also, he speaks fluent English and fluent French as well, and of course, fluent Greek. He speaks these all with a heavy accent.

Well he's not officially military. He's with a PMC. Also it's not a scientist cs. It's just cs for any non military characters.

Because a Private military corporation has no rank or uniform. They are well trained civilians.

PMCs still specialize in combat. You could also have specified the absence of rank in the military CS. The Science CS is for scientists that research the kaiju or other types of experts that focus on saving civilians and acting as envoys between countries, e.g diplomats, linguists, doctors, aid workers and psychologists. Not necessarily just a civilian. An actual expert on civilians. I think that's what @Polyphemus meant to say.

I'm not sure if ordinary civilians can just join the White Gloves just like that, unless they have at least some combat experience (thus making them part of the military department) or can contribute some sort of intellectual ability (thus making a part of the scientist/civilian expert department. Using a military CS does not necessarily have to mean your character belongs to a national army.

It's not actually that hard to switch CSes. Just have to add in a rank field and military branch field. Sort of like this:

Rank: There are usually no ranks in PMC companies.
Military Branch: Schults does not belong to conventional armed forces. Rather, he serves as a senior member of the Silver Talons, a private military company. (You also might have to specify what type of combat they specialize in. Sea? Air? Land? I'm probably guessing land, but it's possible for PMCs to specialize in all of them at once)

You can leave the Alma Mater field in if it's really relevant.

P.S Commander Walter? If there are no ranks, say Walter is the "leader". Otherwise, Commander could be a particularly tenacious nickname to whoever's in charge.

Honestly I'm sure if the gm had a problem with it he would tell me. In regards to what Silver Talon specializes in it's not really something I thought much about. Probably ground combat as the way I wrote them is they normally offered support to one side or another in conflicts in unstable parts of the world. Although while they would mainly operate on land they do have air based vehicles and air combat specialists. Though as far as sea goes I don't think they would have any boats although I suppose if necessary they could offer air support in those situations.
P.S. Walters is my other character on the first page of the ooc. He is the leader of the company and he commands them. Hence why he's referred to as commander.

Wow, you guys were busy while I was at the office. Let's take things one at a time.

Regarding Silver Talon employees: Honestly, I can see both sides of the argument here. For a PMC character, I feel either character sheet would be appropriate. However, it should be acknowledged that by virtue of their profession they're putting themselves inside the chain of command.

I am very pleased to accept Shao and Blanc. Having a robotics expert (looking to build the first mecha, eh?) and a battle-hardened veteran on board will be very valuable.

With that said, I believe I will begin work on an IC. KaijuBaragon, once I see your bio and approve it, you're welcome to join. I feel very humbled to have such enthusiastic and creative people in my RP, and I look forward to playing with you all. Hopefully this game will last quite a while, I have a lot of ideas that I hope you'll like!

Anyone looking at this thread, please join if you're interested! The more, the merrier.

Could we get the IC up today. Ive really been itching to get started.
Edit: I feel the need to point out that Silver Talon does have a vague ranking structure but it very much lacks the order and strictness of an actual military. Basically it has a commander who runs the whole operation and officers who keep other sub parts of the group in order. Other than that though it would mostly be unspoken ranks based on how much members respect each other. So a guy who just joined up wouldn't be very high up in the pecking order but someone who had been around for a long time and proved himself certainly would be.

Second the motion. I'm itching to get into action. I understand if you have any IRL responsibilities, but this is already quite a large player base for an ordinary RP and I would prefer not to keep the base waiting. Trust me. I'm a GM myself.

Btw, Poly, in my own opinion this is a better picture for the OP.
