A group of college friends, sitting around in an apartment. Summer has just come and school's out. Rather then head to the beach, go outside or do anything boring like that, the first day of summer vacation begins with what they consider to be the best thing in the world: A VIDEO GAME MARATHON!

Busting out the Atari 2600, NES, Sega Genesis/CD, Super Nintendo, Gameboy, PSP, Dreamcast, N64, Playstation, Xbox, and their Laptops, these friends are ready for the greatest four day and 96 hour tournament of the champions, to see which one among them is the ultimate gamer! Loaded with a keg of beer, energy drinks, pop, chips, and enough order-in pizza to choke a Ninja Turtle, these gamer guys and gals are ready for anything... Except what happened next.

The enormous amount of items plugged into the back of the television and the wall socket behind it is consuming a large amount of energy. After the power goes out, one of the friends finds a mysterious generator that nobody realized was there before. Ignorant of the strange circumstances surrounding the power generator, one of the gamers plugs it into the power socket, which causes a shocking event: a powerful vortex busts through the television and rapidly begins to suck in the gamers, teleporting them to a world that they thought was purely fictional: the Virtual World of the "Datacore". Upon their arrival in this strange world within the video game, they discover that the only way to leave is by gathering many mystical artifacts. The only way to recover these artifacts, is by defeating the Bosses at the end of the level in each game world. These so called "Game Masters" are equipped with technology and items from each world, giving them certain skills to help conquer the Ultimate Gamer Challange.

Armed to the teeth and ready to face the challenge of the game world before them, the Title Screen comes up, playing an epic pixel tune, preparing them for the awesomeness that lays ahead. As the opening cutscene to the game ends, a sole option appears on the massive door before them, containing the portals to the game worlds:

So, as you've probably guessed by the little overview I've written up, this RP will centre around a group of gamers who are pulled into a video game and must defeat the many Level Bosses in order to escape. Think something along the lines of "Captain N: The Game Master" and "Sword Art Online" in terms of how the worlds and level systems work.

This will combine elements from our favourite gaming companies (Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, SEGA, Capcom, ect) and our favourite game series (Super Mario, Little Big Planet, Halo, Sonic the Hedgehog, Mega Man, and more!) This will be a very relaxed and comedic RP, where the characters simply try to interact with the worlds around them and most likely get into all kinds of jams (ex. In the Kirby world they would argue over killing the adorable enemies, while the Killzone world would reluctantly pit them against each other in a randomly generated death battle). Some worlds will change them and allow them upgraded versions of their hear (ex. Going to Skyrim will make all the equipment more medieval based, while landing on Planet Zebes will force the weapons and armour to get as futuristic as humanly possible).

Now then, here's some basic rules to follow when playing the game:

RULES:

1. No GMing. We don't want any Mary-Sues or Gary-Sues
2. Maximum of 3 Active Characters per person. Any more needs approval by a GM
3. Characters can and WILL die, but please ASK somebody before you attempt to kill their character rather then just say "Your guy is dead."
4. Keep it PG-13!! Romance and Lovey-Dovey stuff is fine, as well as the occasional innuendo, but take smut scenes to PM, please. Also, violence is allowed, but please don't rip out a guys entrails and hold them above his head while he slowly dies. We're not monsters (well, not all of us)
5. Some scenes will be time skipped if they drag on too long/get too boring, but most of the time we will RP things through.
6. Each member of the RP, unless you play an existing game character, is a Game Master and will play through the worlds with the group to escape the game.
7. Your character cannot have any GM abilities.
8. Post at least two paragraphs each time (more is fantastic)
9. GM posts will be announced (these include plot movers, special events or even the death/introduction of a new character)
10. If you got this far, here's a cookie *hands cookie*. Also, include the name of your favourite game character in your "Other" section so I know who's read the rules.
11. Please make PvP combat fair. It really sucks when somebody unleashes their ultimate power and freezes the other person's foot to the floor, then proceed to just punch the crap out of their immobile opponent. In addition, GM moves will NOT be allowed inside PvP combat unless approved/announced in a GM event.
12. Enjoy the RP to the best of your ability!!

Now, here's the two CS's you can choose from. After a certain point in the RP, I'll stop accepting Game Master sheets:

"Game Master" Sheet (College Friends)

Image of Character: (feel free to include their normal look and what they may look like in their Game Master Outfit)
Name:
Nickname: (optional)
"Game Master" Title:
Gender:
Chosen Game Mastery: (Mario, LBP, Final Fantasy, ect. Your selected game mastery will define your powers/abilities. An example would be if you picked Mario, you could jump higher then other characters and be able to adopt the various jobs Mario has gotten in the past, but you won't be able to use weapons like somebody who chose Zelda. Also, try to avoid having similar/the same game masteries as other characters. One Game Master per series, please ^^)
Preferred Weapon(s)/Power-Up(s): (if any, based on your Game Mastery)
Background:
Other: (include any additional information you want. Maybe a catchphrase that your character says, or their favourite video game).

"Hero of the Game World" Sheet (Video Game Character Sheet)

Image of Character: (feel free to include a new design you feel would work for them if you don't like the current one. If they have different costumes like armour, include an image of that as well).
Name:
Nickname: (optional)
Gender:
Game Of Origin: (What series are they from?)
Preferred Weapon(s)/Power-Up(s): (if any)
Game Background: (Can be pasted from Internet if you want, but feel free to rewrite it to your liking)
Other: (include any additional information you want. Maybe a catchphrase that your character says, or their personal thoughts on the "Game Masters").

Now, here's a list of game worlds which we will be going through! I'll be editing this as more are added and cross out the ones we've already been to.

• Super Mario
• Sonic the Hedgehog
• The Legend of Zelda
• Mega Man
• Double Dragon
• Metroid
• Castlevania
• Street Fighter (or) Tekken

Name: Dylan Robertson

Nickname: "Dyl" (pronounced like "Dill")

"Game Master" Title: Omega Man

Gender: Male

Chosen Game Mastery: Mega Man X

Preferred Weapon(s)/Power-Up(s): Mega Buster (FUCKING LEMONS!), Copy Ability (takes the weapons of his fallen foes. Only works on bosses), Rush-Coil, Speed Dash, Mega-Sword (Zero's Weapon)

Background: Dylan is very polite to everyone he meets, male or female. Most girls find it hard to tell if he's flirting or just being nice. He doesn't like to do things by himself and would rather have someone give him orders to follow. Dylan can be odd at times, but that's just because he tries to see the world from every outlook. Even though he smiles, he sometimes feels that nobody really gets him except for his amazing fiancé. However, he's a fun and outgoing guy who would stop at nothing to turn his friend's frown upside down. He is also very adventurous and loves the thrill of a good book. His creativity comes in bits and spurts, but when he finally finds another means to get writing again, he can go on for days. He's also a majorly hopeless romantic. He was attending college in hopes of becoming a well known author and hopes to one day write a book about a grand adventure in a fantasy world.

Other: Dylan is sort of the unspoken leader of the group and, while he doesn't seem like leadership material, he knows how to get the group back up and ready to face the threats in the game world. He also is the one who carries around "Playstation Portable" (PSP), a small animated PSP who provides the group with information about the game worlds they travel to.

Also... JUMP'N'SHOOT MAN!! (MEHGA-MHERN!!)

 • Image of Character: Their Face, Their Game Master Outfit (though more to fit a human, obviously)

 • Name: Elliot Teagon

 • Nickname: Elite

 • "Game Master" Title: The Arbiter

 • Gender: Male

 • Chosen Game Mastery: Halo (Spefically 2, which was the only one where he beat the campaign. The fact that the Arbiter is the playable character for the last level might be the reason why he has his weapons instead of Master Chief's)

 • Preferred Weapon(s)/Power-Up(s): Elliot takes upon the Arbiter's (and by extension, the Elites) signature weapon: The Energy Sword. Or rather, he takes two of Arbiter's signature weapons... As in he dual wields Energy Swords. The swords can slice and dice practically anything with armor due to its magnetized ion-filled electron-based gas forming its blade. The downsides, asides from his need to get close with the weapons, is the fact that they drain energy every time they're used, and must be recharged every now and then. Another downside is that because the blade is magnetic, any magentic field will more than likely screw it up. He also shares the Arbiter's camoflauge, built into his armor. Much like the swords, his camoflage only lasts a short while before it powers off and needs to be recharged. It could also power off when Elliot attacks. Due to the high energy output of his swords, Elliot is not completely invisible so long as he holds onto his glowing blue swords.

 • Background: Elliot, to say the least, lived a bored life. Not a boring life. But a bored life. After getting a certificate in a simple "sit in four classes for one year" course, Elliot had no idea what to do next. Getting a job, going for another course, all those just seemed... doable. But Elliot felt a lack of fun in his heart, something both those things don't seem to give him. Eventually, he came across a gaming club devoted to FPSes and joined it. Although COD was the game that the club played, one person brought in Halo 4, just for variety. This caused a surge of nostalgia for Elliot, who remembered getting Halo 2 and an Xbox for Christmas. Eventually, after seeing Elliot and his friend play Halo, everyone else decided to hold a Halo tournament. However, because Halo played differntly than COD, Elliot managed to wipe the floor with them. This earned him his nickname of Elite. Sastified with his fun, he decided to apply for a summer job... riiiight after he goes to this marathon everyone seems to be raving about.

 • Other: His favorite character is Thel 'Vadam, the Arbiter for Halo 2, which may be why he got his powers rather than Master Chief's. Despite the Arbiter levels being more stealth-based, Elliot runs in guns blazing, or in his case, swords blazing. He also had a nasty encounter with the Flood in the campaign, resulting in him getting easily frightened when zombies and small brain like things are involved.

Here's the set I came up vvith for the gunner, all of the abilities are from the game, except for G-4 and G-5, and the 'general skills' are generalized instead of boringly listing a set of predefined skills that all fall under the same category anyvvay.

Image of Character:

Name: Emilian Jacobson

Nickname: Emmy

"Game Master" Title: The Dungeon Buster

Gender: Male

Chosen Game Mastery: Dungeon Fighter Online, Gunner Class

Preferred Weapon(s)/Power-Up(s):

Gunner Only: Launcher Multi-gun, Dual Hand-cannons, Dual Auto-guns [Their version of 'semi-auto pistols'], Mechreation, FEET!, Grenades, Ammunition types, Explosives... Lots of shooty stuff!

I Figured something out =D Mostly in term of balancing things out, such as certain abilities not working in certain worlds, or becoming properly 'ammo based', and in some worlds based on technology he might be able to modify his weapons more permanently :D

Background: Emmy is a bit of a 'wild child' type, typically a nice guy and excessively cheery, ever the type to seek thrills, whether it's skating along in busy places, goin crazy in a night club, or unloading at the city's local gun-range. He loves flashy things, explosions, mecha, and NOISE!, it's no wonder things tend to sound pretty wild whenever he sits down for a game... He 'is' a good sport about things, pranks, jokes, jabs, jests, and so on... but when he gets ahold of a controller he is also the type reffered to as a 'Sultan of Slam', though he keeps it to tasteful jokes with friends, he pulls no verbal punches with enemies.

Other: The gunner! he has no name, just a big gun!

"Say hello to my little friend!"
"This if my Rifle, this is my Gun!, Both are for fighting, Both are for fun!"

posted in 2 separate posts for organizations sake :D

Kenneth the Brony:

Name: Kenneth Tomlinson
Nickname: Richard
"Game Master" Title: The Bronylock
Gender: Male
Chosen Game Mastery: Brony Games

Preferred Weapon(s)/Power-Up(s): Fists, Claws, Feet, Teeth, but most of all MAGIC! [you know what that means, fireballs, lasers, arcane swords, shape shifting], also the 'gem of harmony' stuck in his chest.

Background: Kenneth put a lot into making it unnoticeable in real life that he was a brony, putting himself off instead as a 'slightly broody lover of dark things', particularly games such as dar souls or dark-siders... He actually gets his nickname from the fact that he's often seen with some image of 'Richard the warlock' on him, and even does a perfect immitation of his creepy voice. Despite his naturally 'withdrawn and broody' habits he actually tends to be quite the conversationalist outside of the public eye, in a good mood, or when deep in a good game.

Other:
"FOR PONY!" - Richard the warlock's actual Favored Battlecry.
"REJOICE!... For bad thing are about to happen!"
"Oh, walk it off you pussy!"
"Look at my horse, My horse is amazing!"

Twilight... Pony or not, Magic is awesome!

(But without the metal codpiece)

Name: Jihyo Park

Nickname: Ji/Jee/Gee/G

"Game Master" Title: Super Cancel

Gender: Female

Chosen Game Mastery: 2D Japanese Fighting Games (Street Fighter, BlazBlue, etc)

Preferred Weapon(s)/Power-Up(s): Enhanced martial arts abilities - her punches and kicks can send someone flying back towards the edge of the screen. Chi-based attacks from her hands (Think the Hadouken). Meter - taking damage or connecting with attacks fills her 'Meter'. Cancels - like the games she knows best, her attacks can be 'cancelled' in order to make her Chi-attacks more effective/surprise opponents...but only when she has enough meter. Ultra Combo - With a full Meter her Ultra is released. It's a series of punches ending in a large blast, sending an opponent skyward. She doesn't have a name for it.

Background: Jihyo is a fighter, literally. As a child she took martial arts training at the request of her parents - it was their way to keep the traditions of their culture alive. Jihyo became absorbed in the martial arts, going to competitions, wanting to win, wanting to wipe the floor with the competition. It was here where Jihyo discovered her competitive nature. She wasn't quite sure how or when this nature transferred over to video games, probably at a birthday party at a bowling alley with an side arcade that just so happened to have an arcade version of Street Fighter 2. It only took one game for her to become hooked. Within years her competitive nature carried over to the fighting game scene, going to local tournaments and wiping the floor. She became known as the silent killer due to how quiet she was when playing compared to how everyone else was shouting and getting into it. Jihyo always preferred to wait until she won before dishing out the trash talk. Jihyo hates losing, even among her friends, and her mouth can become quite foul when she loses. It's much more foul when she wins. In her final year of college, she's on her way to earning a degree in mathematics. She hasn't decided if she wants to go into teaching..or becoming an actuary.

Other: Jihyo doesn't have an off switch with her language. Trash talk is in her blood - win or lose she's going to be vulgar. She'd make those kids on Call of Duty cry with her language.

I'll have my Game World Hero sheet up tomorrow.
