Too right. The meeting was 3 weeks ago, apart from a few scribbled notes and a powerpoint, I cannot for the life of me remember what was said. So, they've gotten a paraphrased, and possibly fantastical version of events. If they give me grief, I'll just say "you get what you paid for." That's the problem with the kind of people I work for, they try to take advantage of my good nature, and when I start saying enough's enough, they start saying crap like "We all have to do work in our own time" and "Is that really the attitude to have in this economical climate?"

They'd have a point, but I work on the factory floor, and they're all salary paid manager-grade types. After hours work is in their job description, not mine. Besides, they're all paid about 10 grand more a year than me, the feckers.

Rant over. I'll start reviewing everyones' posts so I can determine where you're all at.

Some really beautiful posts here, by the way. I don't want to name favourites, because you've all have done a really good job. I'm even more thrilled that you guys have grabbed the subject matter by the head and twisted it. Fantastic stuff.

I'm updating the maps, based on player progress. Writing up the next turn too, so we should deffo be good for tomorrow.

The RP is in its early stages, so I'll be lenient to players who are unable to post/couldn't be bothered until now. Absent players, who do not put their hands up and say they wont be around for a bit, will be left out of the next turn phase. A repeat absence without warning will end in disqualification from the RP.

No problem. I've just given the South-Eastern front its new set of orders.

More orders will follow, after I've worked out where I need to put people.

I still need to write up phase two of my first mission. I'm rusty as hell when it comes to writing so it might be a slow process, and I'm trying to figrue out how to go about it. I'm hoping we can assume my mission is happening concurrently to Turn Two, since I don't want to get left behind. At the same time, I don't want to hold anyone back, so I guess it's fine either way.

If anyone needs a mission assigned, I wouldn't mind them being sent to assist me in taking the airport. That might help the process along. We can say the 1st Mechanized ran into some completely unexpected resistance, and possibly even guns capable of taking down armored vehicles. That way we can justify the slow progress down there.

Gah, sorry for my prolonged absence, I just got back from travelling for Thanksgiving and I really should have given you guys a warning before I disappeared. I understand if this RP has progressed without me, though I must say that that'd be rather disappointing. Anyway, I'll kick myself into action and try to get my General Sheet out ASAP. I have some family coming over today, but with any luck I'll still be able to finish the sheet by tonight.

I'm really sorry for my absence, it was rude of me not to inform you guys beforehand.

The Township and the airport are primed for the taking, sorry if the post seems a little rushed-- I originally wanted to describe what Aesir and the girls were doing as the night happened, but I realized that'd have been against the whole point of covert operations, so I did a slight time skip to the dawn (or just before it).

(Also updated CS with names, more reasonable numbers for a group of spies, better descriptions of things and (spoilers) deaths in the Cascadians)

A few things:

1) The eastern bridge had already been taken by the 1st Mechanized. All you needed to do was cross it, head down the road west, and cross the bridge behind the airfield to hit them from behind.

2) I'm going to try to get a post out, and I'm probably going to have some of it take place prior to this whole leadership takedown thing, since I'm going to be assuming the 1st Mechanized was already engaging the forces at the airport before the arrival of Darcs' guys. And also because I feel Darcs made it seem a bit easier than it should have been, and I don't really want to make a post about how my guys just rolled in almost completely unopposed. No offense, or anything. I know you said you had to rush your post. I'd just prefer to have something good to post about. You seemed to have wrapped it up a bit too early.

Sooo... Hathaway may have just committed multiple acts of treason. But that's where his loyalties lie, so yeah. It should make for some good storytelling, although I'm not sure anyone would know about what he did. I would think not, but I wouldn't mind people finding out later, if it makes things interesting.

EDIT: As a sidenote, I'm hoping we do that whole player interaction thing we talked about a while back. It'll be cool to take a step back from the action to assess the situation and let the commanders interact a bit.

That may have just been a lack of communication as for the bridge, my orders seemed to imply it was still being heavily overseen if not directly controlled by the township. So I went ahead an took it (or maybe retook it).

As far as the actual battle, no yeah, I'm actually glad it was harsher for Hathaway than Aesir anticipated. She took out the leadership based on knowledge of the rigid NCR structure, and the theory that the mercs would be just a crippled as NCR troops. They may have been slightly hindered, but probably nowhere near as much as NCR proper would have been. Spies and soldiers ALWAYS have different outlooks on battle. For 8th Recon it was a simple Trojan horse operation with 6 spies a few days before the big battle, nothing but placing a few mines and stabbing important people in their sleep-- for 1st Mechanized it was a god damn battlefield, filled with all the trauma and death that brings.

I wholeheartedly support the interaction between the generals for this specific reason. We'll greater outline differences between characters like Aesir and Hathaway-- one is actually trained and experienced as a soldier and a general, maybe even knows some NCR strategy. The other is just a sneaky wastelander mutie with a following and a mostly aesthetic title.

Yeah, that's why I want interaction. Our leaders are all different, so it'll be interesting to see how they get along. I think of Hathaway as being a cool guy who doesn't really mind good people who've proven themselves (even though he called the Slags 'mole-people' ;P). I think the drama will come in once people find out he sympathizes with the NCR pretty heavily and will probably actively avoid fighting them if he can. He doesn't really like former raiders and the like, though.

As for the bridge thing - It's fine, I guess. Maybe the resistance was a little further down from where the bridge is, since I never said the guys who took the bridge advanced south afterwards. I just said they took the bridge after a brief firefight. So, like.. maybe the bridge was under the control of a few 1st Mechanized guys, but a few bad guys were still holding up further down the road, not too far from the bridge itself.

So I might just come in with Pepper on this thing. I'm thinking about having an air corps of sorts. At this point it'd only be on paper (no planes, no Vertibirds yet assuming Vertibird guy is gone from this) and acting as a scavenge and repair force to recover oldworld tech and planes before eventually starting it up in the future after some hard work, kind of like the Boomers.
