Got a ranged character up, yea or nay?
Name: Shinon
Gender: Female
Age: 21
Nationality: Theocracy of Hieledran
Shinon is rather tall standing at 6" 2' and weighing in at 175 pounds. She is well tanned and his face has a sort of exotic handsomeness to it, as if she doesn't come form this world. He is very well muscled, but not to the point of excessive bulging. She wears black leathers that provide a small amount of protection but allow him full range of motion She has a scar on her right arm from when one her experimental bows snapped. His eyes are a deep violet purple color that had rumors spread about her being a blessed child.
Shinon was always interested in archery since she was a child, and from an early age demonstrated a talent for earth magic. His interest in both of these was encouraged by her rich parents and he became highly skilled in them as she grew up. Shinon always got what he wanted, but as she wasn’t a needy child didn’t end up spoiled. As he grew older he also took an interest an the working of the technology that was vastly becoming so popular. She first became interested when he was hunting in the forest nearby her town and he spotted another hunter, only this hunter didn’t have a bow, but instead had a strange device. A boar snorted and came rushing out of the nearby underbrush, but to her great surprise the hunter carefully aimed the pistol, as he learned it was called, pulled the trigger and brought the beast down with a single blasting shot. Shinon came out and offered to help the hunter carry the boar back in exchange for looking at the gun and having it explained to him. As it was explained to her she became more and more interested in getting one, however was surprised when the man explained that the one bad thing about these new guys was that every so often they would jam. Shinon thoughtfully considered this as he finished helping with the boar and wandered home.
Obviously bows couldn’t jam and yet they couldn’t match the power and speed of a pistol, so the first thing Shinion did was attempt to get a bow that could match the power of a pistol. She handcrafted a succession of bows, gradually increasing in draw power until he ended up with a bow practically as big as himself. He quickly fixed the other flaw he saw with bows, their lack of any melee options besides trying to bash someone’s head in. Initially he had a bit of difficulty adjusting to the blades that were added but in time her accuracy was as good as ever. Yet for all this the bow couldn’t even come close to matching the convenience of the pistol, so he decided on a simple comprise, both. The beautiful thing about the pistol was it could be combined with any other conceivable form of weaponry. Outfitted properly with her weaponry and his powerful earth magic Shinon was sure she could fight back any foul monsters that attacked... he was wrong.
Clouds had hang ominously all day, and there seemed to a dragging, dreary feeling in the air. At night they struck, on the night of the full moon. The Werewolves were killing people before they even knew they were. One brave lad had barely managed to pull the alarm bell before he was dragged to the feast. Shinon’s childish excitement at being able to fight back foul creatures vanished with a crippling terror as screams echoed throughout the night. The town militia attempted to gather a fighting force, as one of the militia barged into Shinion’s house to warn them, he was followed by one of the loathsome creatures and it tore him apart before he could even scream. Shinon’s fear turned into a righteous anger, these demons had no right to come here, no right to even exsist. From the living room door he pulled back his bow to full draw and loosed it right into the creatures torso pinning it into the wall. To Shinon’s terror the beast slowly pulled the arrow out of it’s chest giving him a terrifying grin. Shinon furiously reached with his magic into the kitchen behind him, and its collection of silver silverware. The various forks and knives stabbed the werewolf all over its body weakening it, and finally Shinon launched another arrow right through its eye into the brain. She panted from exertion and ran upstairs to retrieve her parents. He dragged them downstairs towards the cellar and as they did so she scattered food all over the place in an attempt to throw off any more werewolves who came looking for more easy prey. Once they were safely in the cellar Shinon slammed a block of earth into place blocking off the main entrance.
Her family and himself survived the night but they were some of the few who survived long enough for the Deathgaurd to come and fight off the remaining werewolves. He left his parents to join the Deathgaurd and trained relentlessly so she could become strong to protect his family. She joined at the age of 18 and now, years later she was sent as one of the Deathgaurd to test the Order to see if it was worthy.
