-=Countries of the Land=-

Caudium Empire

History: An old Nation dating back to the dawn of civilized man. They were once the most powerful nation in the land ruling over most of mankind. But the Caudium Empire grew to large for it's own good and tension started to brew. Soon Rebellions started to form, and what started as a few town soon grew to a threat to the entire nation. And the Caudium Empire's strength was turned against it. The men who remained loyal to the Empire were constantly pushed back and overpowered until they got to Dragon Tooth Pass. The narrow and highly defensible pass was where the Rebellion's advance was brought to a halt. Soon after a there was piece, the Caudium Empire agreed to let the rebelling regions have their freedom and focused on rebuilding and strengthening itself so that some day they could reclaim their lost lands. Today the Caudium Empire is once again powerful, but the current Emperor has focused on his nation as it is instead of going to war in order to gain more territory.
Culture: Old Roman
Capital City: Dragon Tail Keep

Tachikawa

History: Men of honor and tradition. The Nidel Dynasty have controlled Tachikawa since the Warlord Natsumi Nidel rallied the local warlords to fight back the Caudium Empire. After the Caudium Empire was pushed back the Nidel Dynasty started a tradition of Isolation. During this time of Isolation the Warlords of the country have built up their strength, some in support of the Nidel Dynasty and some with hopes of overthrowing the ruling class and becoming the countries ruler. During this time of isolation the Nidel Dynasty has allowed strong warriors who have no master to call their own to join the Order of Hunters and still support the Order despite the isolation practices.
Culture: Warring States Japan
Capital City: Kanzaki

Kingdom of Anavio

History: Born after the Caudium Rebellion under the banner of the war hero Iskandar Anavio. Iskandar used his reputation and the instability caused by the rebellion to bring together much of the lands freed after the rebellion. With the promises of fair leadership and protection from Caudium and any other invaders the Kingdom of Anavio grew quickly, and it's military was quickly able to back up Iskandar's promises as his own personal fighting style was taught to the troops improving on the training that the Caudium Empire had already implemented. And even after Iskandar's death the Kingdom of Anavio has thrived and strengthened itself to become the single most powerful nation of man in existance.
Culture: Alexander's Greece
Capital City: Tolbiacum

Tribes of Grimsgil

History: A strong and resilient people who refuse to bend knee to any nation or army. The Barbarians who never relinquish their freedom and independence were never truly satisfied under Caudium Rule and were some of the first to rebel against the Empire. And although they remain independent the Tribes have formed a loose government in which a council of elders meet and decide the best course of action for the Tribes as a whole. And although there were some tribes who refused to join the council and stood on their own the majority of the tribes have stood as a single unified nation. And although spread out and small in number the barbarian tribes are fierce fighters revered for their strength.
Culture: Barbarian Tribes
Capital City: Laxa

Theocracy of Hieledran

History: Hieledran sits on the far northern side of the great continent known as Udimond. At first, it began as only a
small island nation of nearly ten thousand people or so, until it had begun to flourish gradually in the early century, suffering a few bloody civil wars and power struggles, leading to a schism of the continent into East and West Hieledran. Twas not until the Church of Rhon, the religious authority of Hieledran, set up a strong and prominent theocracy, appointing the priestess Marion to the title of Holy Queen, that the land was finally unified under one banner. Isolated from the rest of The World, Hieledran grew prosperously without any outside influences or hindrances. Endeavors to weed out the old mysticisms of the land led to intrigues into science and technology, which in turn led to a great surge in the technology and industry of the land. However, despite all this, Hieledran....was cursed by a scourge of hellish creatures, wretched monsters of the undead, vicious, flesh eating horrors that could have only crawled from the darkest pit of that infernal realm. Vampires, werewolves, zombies, wights and wraiths, the scourge of terror soon engulfed Hieledran like a plague, leaving countless dead in its wake. To combat the recent spike in activity of these gruesome fiends, the Church of Rhon called upon the finest men and women of the land, forming them into the Blackguard, an elite clan of warriors in service to Her Holy Majesty to eradicate the lurching evil that had befallen Hieledran. Soldiers of the Blackguard were called Reapers, not just for the skull-like bandanas they wore to keep from breathing in any toxic spores, but also for their task of reaping the souls of the damned and sending them back where they belonged, to burn forever in Hell. With the threats of the Hellspawn growing every day, the Holy Queen has agreed to a conditional truce with the Order sending some of her finest to see if the Order and its Hunters are worthy to step foot on Hieledran.

Culture: Gothic/ Victorian era England with some elements of Steampunk
Capital City: Rhonshire, named for the Rhon the Lifegiver, Hieledran's chief deity. It is also where the Church of Rhon stands.

-=The Order=-

The Order of Hunters was formed over 500 years ago when mankind first came together as a whole to combat the powerful dragon Ragnos. And with the combined efforts of man the beast fell proving that mankind did not have to fear these beasts. Since then the Order has stood against the monsters and beasts that come from the Dead Lands plaguing mankind's existance. And although Mankind's own worst enemy seems to be itself the Order has not stepped in to settle matters between the Human Nations wanting staying neutral and unbiased in the situations. In order to combat the monsters and beasts that roam the Dead Lands the Order is always willing to take any able bodied talent that is willing to sacrifice its life to rid Mankind of these threats.

Order's Insignia

The mark of the hunters the Insignia shows a depiction of the dragon Ragnos whom was the first target of the hunters. It is worn as a reminder of what evils have plagued the land and been defeated in order to show and prove no Monster is invincible.

Fort Raven's Peek

Once a frontier fort of the Caudium Empire, Raven's Peek was built as a first line of defense against the monsters coming from the Dead Lands. But soon after the rebellion started the fort was abandoned as even the Barbarian Tribes of Grimsgil felt the fort was to close to the Dead lands to settle into. But recently the Order came across the ruined fort and saw the use in the old fort. The Order put forth the resources to rebuild the fort in order to use it as a forward base. Now fully restored Raven's Peek serves as the home and base of operations for the 87th division of the Order of Hunters.

With the Order taking up protection of the fort and surrounding area, people of Grimsgil who had no tribe to call their own flocked to the Fort setting up a small community with the fort in its center. The town of Raven's Peek has also become a haven for those who wish to venture out into the Dead Lands for Glory and Treasure, so it's locals make sure the shops are filled with anything and everything one might need to take with them on an adventure.

Impoertant NPCs

Heidrek Starrason - Cook / Ranking Officer
Born to one of the many tribes of Grimsgil, Heidrek was a natural fighter and one of the strongest men of his tribe. But it was a time of piece and although warriors are a valuable asset during war, his skills wouldn't be needed during the current age. So it wasn't surprising when Heidrek went off to join the Order of Hunters. He quickly rose through the Hunter's ranks and became a valuable asset to the Order. Even after Heidrek was severely injured while out on a hunt barely surviving the ordeal Heidrek still had a purpose in the Order. Unable to go out in the field and hunt anymore Heidrek has instead moved to training and building up the hunters taking on the roll of a commander. He now is the Commander of the 87th division of the Order.

Christoth Scaleskin - Blacksmith/Armorer
Not every member of the Order is a warrior and Christoth is a perfect example of this fact. Son of the Caudium Empire's Royal Armorer, Chistoth learned very early in his childhood how to work a forge. And by his mid-teens was producing equipment that the Royal Guard was proud to wear. But Christoth didn't fit into the pampered life of royalty and on his 18th birthday he struck a deal to get him away from it. Chistoth signed up for the Order of Hunters using his skills as a blacksmith to forge weapons and armor for the order while getting out of the Caudium Castle and exploring the world. With the renovations at Raven's Peek being made Chirstoth pulled some strings and made sure a new fully equipped forge would be put in place so he would have a good area to work from. and with the renovations done Chirstoth has taken his place ready to serve the hunters in his own way.

Iris Drakos - Maid/Healer
Iris is the younger sister of Silus. She grew up close to her brother and after he left to join the Anavion Army she tried her best to remain useful. Although she wasn't the natural fighter her brother was there had to be something she could do. That is when her latent gift started to bloom. It turned out that Iris had magical potential, and from that moment on she devoted herself to the magical arts. Again her strong suit wasn't battle so instead she focused on healing spells hoping to one day be able to stay by her brother's side. Then it happened Silus disappeared, it was said that his team had been ambushed and there were no survivors. Instead of breaking down her brother's death only fueled Iris' study into the medical arts. Then years later when Silus returned she swore she wouldn't let him go out on his own so when he joined the Order she followed suit. And although Silus doesn't let her go out on field missions Iris still feels a little more at ease being apart of his team and keeping an eye on him.

-=Magic=-

Yes magic and mages are allowed!

Magic must be channeled through a mystic objects, or be recited spells in most cases (books, staves, ect) (special cases must check with GM and would go with the Other category of cs)

Magic is learned by specific elements (fire, lightning, earth, ect) and must be mastered separately

Mastery levels go as follows Novice (basic understanding) -> Journeyman (able to use practically) -> Expert (able to use a Specialization of that element) -> Master (Know how to use bigger spells of the element) -> Grandmaster (Know just about everything about the element)

I will allow progression during the RP so nothing over Expert at start of rp. Also a mage can have up to 3 "points" in magi skills (basically as long as your starting skills add up or are less then 3 its ok, as in Journeyman in fire and Novice in Earth, or Expert in one type with no training in anything else)

Magic Specializations: As your knowledge of an Element grows certain paths will open up for you. For example those who Study the arts of Nature will be able to take on the properties of animals and become a Shapeshifter or Druid. While those attuned to Darkness could learn the arts of Necromancy or Demonic Summoning.

Sworn to secrecy over the event years before he had come back to Anavio to see his family and say goodbye one last time before leaving to his post far from home. In the seven years since then Silus has once again proven his worth on many a battlefield and worked his way up the ranks of the Order. Malikoy: Jagrid as a character looks fine to me, the only thing that gets me is the nation of choosing. Spartan's in general were of greek decent and although Alexander never conquered Sparta, they were very close and still part of his lands. and with that being said I believe that if there were to be a Spartan culture in this world it would develop in Anavio which is similar to its original home. Where as the Caudium is more based around Rome which was an entirely different Culture in which a city state like Sparta wouldn't be allowed to exist as an individual city so built on fighting could be a threat to the entirety of the nation. But aside from a quick change in Nation I don't see any real problem with the character and ill accept him.

I think I'll put a CS up for this too, but I'm gonna wait for a bit of the IC to start first. Sorry, I've had issues in the past where I would put up a CS, but the RP would die before it reached the IC stage.

Name: Mosh Klein
Gender: Male
Age: 21
Nationality: Tribes of Grimsgil
Appearance:His skin tone is a very dark brown, his hair is long and shaggy black that goes down to his shoulders, he is clean shaven and his eyes are green.

Bio: Mosh grew up in a small village, part of a single tribe, where hunting, gathering, and infighting among the residents over greed from the hunt's spoils and over other such things flourished. From an early age, communication from a vocal standpoint was about as important as communicating with gestures and general body language. And so as he grew up to be a large 'child', (he disagreed about the child part), sometimes others who went to the forest to hunt animals, would gesture with their hands more than their voices for him to come with them. Usually they were able to ambush their prey easily-unless Mosh stepped on a twig snapping it and giving away their presence. This happened a few times and his elder hunters didn't appreciate it. For his scaring away the prey he'd get a backhanded slap to the face. After a few such incidents he learned to be more careful when hunting and within a few years he went hunting out on his own.

The other thing was, as a solo hunter, when he brought back some meat-some others would believe that they deserved some of the meat-even though they just sat back in the village while he hunted it, killed it and brought it back. In these situations the council of elders would try to solve the situation peacefully but often they were ignored.

Out of these situations was how he learned to fight, face to face, circling his opponent-daring him to strike first and looking for an opening at the same time. After the first three fights he almost always won and eventually others stopped challenging him as they didn't want to get scarred from head to toe.

At the age of eighteen he grew tired of his village and what it had to offer and ventured over to Laxa, to expand what he knew of the world and to see what a city was like. He used some of his skills to pay for lodging once he arrived at the city and went straight to the marketplace because he saw a big crowd there right away and he wanted to be where the action was. As he took a look around at the merchandise, a man behind one of the shops beckoned him over and he approached the stranger. He asked Mosh if he wanted to know about making money quickly-ofcouse it sounded good so Mosh nodded. Through the next several weeks he learned the nature of merchanting: of buying things for a low price and selling them for a high price, even of trading different quality goods where no actual coins or currency exchanged hands. This was how, a short time later he landed expensive residence, clothing, weapons and gear. He continued to hunt and when he decided he needed a work out, he raised his voice and challenged any man around to a duel and offered a high reward to any opponent who beat him in combat. So far none have. Because he was wealthy and he had no real competition in combat, he decided to broaden his horizons.

A short while later, he heard about the Order of Hunters from a strange looking man on the outskirts of the city. His ears perked up at the description of the group. It sounded exciting and so he packed up quite a few things he'd need and made the dangerous journey to their headquarters.

After a good month travelling by horse (he learned how to ride on the journey, it wasn't easy.), by wagon and when it was too treacherous to do either on foot, he eventually arrived at Fort Raven's Peek. This was about a year ago. It was tough at first to be accepted by the group. Although after showing his prowess in combat, his quick witted decisions that helped save a situation or two and his hunting skills-they seemed to changed their minds about him. Now he has been with the Order for a year and is a 'generally respected' member.

Fighting Style: Very aggressive, with broad swings from his weapon. He also uses his natural agility to help fake out his opponents- and then strikes where they are not likely to avoid his attacks.
Equipment: A broad double bladed battle axe, some dried meat, some torn cloth for bandages, a full waterskin, a couple of knives, some rocks, a longbow with arrows, and some daggers.
Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of how to deal with basic wounds, A very skilled fighter, knowledge and ability to get great deals and is a great hunter.
Other Information: Ok if I leave this blank?

It is imperative to my character's development that he is from the empire and not anywhere else. I understand you believe a Spartan like culture is more appropriately belonging into the Kingdom of Anavio but Jagrid's not really a Spartan, the character is only inspired by Spartans, he is very roman like as I mentioned in the bio he also learned other things than combat, just like Romans who were intellectly rich, also both his parents are merchants so he is related to trading as well, more Roman than Spartan.

Actually....I'll go ahead and post my CS. I think there's some things in it that.....might get rejected >.> Plus it was just a whimsical idea of mine.

Name: Jocelyn Valentine
Gender: Female
Age: 30
Nationality: Theocracy of Hieledran
Appearance:
5'6'' with an hourglass shaped figure and about a b-cup in bust size

Bio: In the impoverished, bustling and smog polluted hamlet of Graychapel, towards the eastern coast of Hieledran, Jocelyn was born to a highly decorated captain of the Her Holy Majesty's Royal Guard and his wife, a dressmaker in the midst of Hieledran's great industrial boom. Jocelyn's father had previously served during the second civil war and was a great war hero, but he was killed at age thirty-two in a horrible battle between his men and a pack of werewolves when Jocelyn was only six, one of which ripped Jocelyn's father in half and stuck him on a spear outside the town. Her mother had died giving birth to her from blood loss due to severe hemorrhaging, said to have been afflicted by the toxic air that surrounded Graychapel. Without a proper guardian, Jocelyn soon became a ward of the Church and was sent to an orphanage run by the theocracy and looked after by the Sisters of Rhon, women who devoted their entire lives from sun-up to sun-down praising and serving the great Lifegiver. Twas in the orphanage Jocelyn was raised to strict religious standards. Every morning would begin with a recital of Rhonic prayers and hymns before breakfast. Any behavior towards the other children or towards the Sisters that was rude or deemed secular was punished fiercely either by lashings or intense hard labor. The orphanage also handed to the children holy tomes and encouraged, rather forcefully, the children to read from them each day after they rose and each night before they rested.

Life for Jocelyn in the orphanage, it was bleak, traumatizing sometimes. The ash and smog resonating from the nearby factories and foundries often led to children becoming diseased, coughing up blood and bile, their skin becoming a deathly pale shade and breaking out in horrendous blotches. Most died within the very hour they were afflicted, some younger than Jocelyn. Jocelyn was also horrifically scarred by the image of her dead father, mangled by wretched werewolves and put on display before the frightened townspeople. From her tarnished mind she could not erase the ghastly visage of her father's cold, lifeless stare, the crows and the ravens fiendishly picking away at his slaughtered carcass, the nauseating stench of death and rot as maggots spewed from his stomach ripped open by a Hellspawn's claw. The werewolves, the gargoyles, all the creatures of Hell she began to despise as much as she began to fear, not just through the orphanage's constant indoctrination, but also towards the bastards for killing her father, for plunging her into this despairing prison she saw her new home as, and only growing worse as the plague of Hellspawn soon spilled into the city streets and hit far too close to home. Attacks were rampant now in Hieledran, people dying by the score. Not a single soul was safe from the scourge of this consuming evil, not even children.

On the night of Jocelyn's thirteenth birthday, the orphanage was overrun by a festering horde of undead ghouls. In absolute horror, Jocelyn could only watch as both women and children were ripped apart and eaten alive by the monstrosities of rotting flesh and bone. One quickly took after Jocelyn and pinned her to the ground. It was about to sink its putrid teeth into her skin, but she was rescued by a group of mysterious men and women dressed in black clothing and sinister looking bandanas that covered their faces, leaving only the fiery glare of their eyes. They were the Reapers, elite monster-killing soldiers of Her Holy Majesty's Blackguard, tasked with exterminating any and all Hellspawn who threatened the people of Hieledran. Jocelyn, she was intimidated yet captivated by the Blackguard, admiring their courage in the face of evil and their heroic stature. The Reapers soon removed Jocelyn from the orphanage after the bloody massacre, but instead of transporting her safely to another, she begged their leader, a veteran hunter by the name of Silas, to let her join the Blackguard. Silas refused, but due to the incessant pleading of Jocelyn, he soon reconsidered, first giving Jocelyn a test to see if she was worthy of joining their ranks. To his surprise, Jocelyn passed, and so she was inducted into the Blackguard after twelve long and arduous years training under Silas' harsh and brutal tutelage, molding her from a timid young girl into a valiant warrior in the Holy Queen's service. By age twenty six, she was one of the Blackguard's most decorated Reapers. She had also met her lover, Erdrick, another of Blackguard's elite and the leader of her squadron. For three years the two were intertwined in a passionate romance, but it was all shattered one fateful evening. Though the Blackguard was the most feared battalion of monster hunters in Hieledran, there were not enough of them to keep up with the increasing numbers and severity of the Hellspawn. The Holy Queen had refused it many times, but realized that she had no choice and sent word for reinforcements to the neighboring countries. Word soon returned from that of the Order, another elite group of monster hunters. The Queen would allow the Order to aid the Blackguard, but first, they were to be deemed worthy. And so Jocelyn, Erdrick, and the rest of their squadron were sent to be embedded with the Order until they were commanded to return.

It came as no surpise to the Blackguard that monsters existed even beyond the borders of Hieledran, but they were beasts of the like no Reaper had ever seen nor fought. Such a terrible revelation came to them as they struggled to make their way through the unknown terrain towards the fortress Raven's Peek. In a matter of seconds, the squadron was waylayed and almost entirely decimated by a gargantuan Behemoth. The Reapers slayed the beast after a long and gruesome battle, but the losses....were devastating. Among the Reapers who were killed was Erdrick, died instantly after being run through by the beast's horn, a swift and brutal blow that might as well have carved out Jocelyn's heart. While she wept near inconsolably over the bloody corpse of her beloved, the surviving Reapers tried to urge her to turn back. They would inform the Queen that the journey to Raven's Peek is too costly to take....such an act of cowardice Jocelyn would not allow to besmirch her Erdrick's honor. In a fit of anger, she snapped at them, telling them that come Hellspawn or high water, they were going to Raven's Peek, even if she had to carry their dead bodies as well. The men were silenced and begrudgingly they followed Jocelyn onwards to the fortress.

Since then, Jocelyn has remained with the Order for nearly two years going on three. She is known to be very authoritative and highly opinionated towards most of her fellow hunters. In honor of Erdrick, she has carried his rapier into battle with her countless times, carrying on his legacy through the blood shed upon his blade.

Fighting Style: Fencing
Equipment:
.

Skills/Abilities: Jocelyn is known for her almost inhuman agility and is a rather adept fencer noted for her swift parries and damaging ripostes, but sometimes her form can slip now and again. She is also good at guerilla tactics which utilize free-running, bounding and leaping across city rooftops or through the thick forest canopies, giving her a slight advantage in ambushing others from above, especially werewolves. Not to mention she is a dead-eye marksman.

Alot of Rome's military tactics were also adopted from Sparta if I'm correct.

Malikoy: You know after taking a second look at it I would agree. Sorry about that, Saw a spartan, spartan weapons, and Spartan training and went whelp he is a Spartan. But ya re-reading your Bio and I can agree he belongs in the Empire. I'll accept him as he is.

Gareth: The big guy seems good to me. Also yes you can leave the Other Information blank :p

Rusalka: She seems like a very specialized hunter and I do like the idea. As for the new Nation I actually like the idea and could see it being implemented into the RP. And I'll even update the map and general ooc info to bring it in. And wanting to keep your characters Bio a secret all I ask on that for now is a bit on how long you have been in the Hunters and how you got there. And then maybe shoot me a PM to talk about the nation a bit more.

Also a note for everyone. Raven's Peek isn't the central Hub of the Hunters it is just the home for our team. The fort itself has been a Hunter's Station for about two years. And if you have been stationed their for any time over 3 months then you would of worked underneath Heidrek when he was out in the field and been apart of the final mission which lead to his injury. As for that mission I haven't come up with it yet, so if you feel like talking through it I would be happy for the input.

Ok awesome!^ยท^ glad you like the new nation. As for Jocelyn's bio, I'm still trying to plan that out, especially how she came to join the Order. So for now I'm just using TBR as a placeholder. Also I didn't want her to be OP so I'm not going to be using a lot of steampunk gadgetry either, that includes guns. Really she's kinda more of a female Van Helsing, so the crossbow fits better.

Quick question before I do anything with the magic, would spirit stuff like speaking too them and calling for their aid be ok? Otherwise I would just make him into an earth mage.

So I'm gunna wait until I accept two more hunters before I get us started. But that doesn't mean I'll cap us there if others finish or post their character sheets I can throw them in (although that will be tougher after the initial meet and greet and we get sent off on our first mission)

Pathfinder: talking to spirits would be alright, especially coming from the barbarian culture which wouldn't really have the understanding of normal magic

Just shoot me a pm with what your thinking the spirits will allow you to do and we can work it out.

And on a side note. Holy crap that is one scary looking shaman
