It’s a fairly funny thing… you know? Watching how we, mankind would fight and bicker among each other over the slightest things. For years we would kill and lay waste to each other over religion, putting our ideals on the line while at the same time back at home our people would fight over the rights that they had. Justice… equality… hunger… appearances… or what just happened on the latest TV show… whatever you could imagine with your little insignificant head they bickered about.

You would think for such an advance race compared to all the primitive animals that we’d be far better, wouldn’t we? No. Truth is, we were nothing than primates ourselves; animals who couldn’t go beyond our differences to unite and join one another and create a better world.

In the end, we just destroyed our mother Earth… Well, let me give you a short history lesson.

In the year 2262, roughly 260 years of constant fighting, our world was nothing more than a nuclear dump with only a few patches of habitable lands left where the man who finally united the Earth forces under a single banner decided to make his ground. He built an impenetrable fortress and had his forces cultivate and secure whatever lands could be saved by using Green House Helixes; devices meant to preserve to the lands that were untainted by the wars. Communities were built within these lands, before steps to move forward were introduced.

In the year 2321, the man who united Earth passed and his son took over. Expeditions from Earth to cultivate new planets began, with flagships each containing the newest development; the Framelocks- powerful mechanized piloted units that can only be used by a select few individuals.

Dozens of dozens of these Framelocks traveled and spread across with the Spartans, Howlers, Banshees, and other military forces as they slowly captured planets… and for years, things were working for we thought we were alone in the universe.

Or so we thought.

In the year 2578, we lost communication with a human colony on our outer rim all of a sudden. At first, we thought it was just an error with the signal… until seconds later another colony tuned in and told us that they were being attacked.

We suddenly found ourselves thrown into a war with an unknown alien race for years, with all of our communications being cut off with all of our planets. Despite all the reinforcements we sent, we never heard from them… we could only assume the worst had happened.

It was only in the year of 2590 that we finally were able to make establish contact with one of our outer rim planets due to the efforts of the descendent of the man who united Earth who wanted to find out what happened. We found that our people were killed.

They were slain by an alien race called the Cruxi… and they had technology and firepower that was on a whole new level compared to us. Beam weapons, ships that were faster, soldiers that had barriers… you name it, they probably had it. However, their numbers weren’t as vast as ours. So we threw ourselves at them in order to keep them at bay, and to keep them from reaching more of our home worlds.

Though a strategy like that can only last so long until all of humanity starts to believe that we’re fighting a losing war… but that’s where you come in, kid.

You’re here to clean up our petty mistakes of our pasts as adults and to fight our battle. That’s the sad truth of the matter. Remember how I mentioned those Frameworks earlier, right? Well, you along with others around your age have been chosen to pilot experimental Frameworks in hopes of turning the tides of this war.

Truth be told, I don’t envy you… because I feel you’re going to be thrown straight into the horrors of things kid… I just pray you make it out of this alive, even if we don’t.

Hello, and welcome to Living Alchemic Drive, or LAD for short! This is a RP where you take the roll of a pilot who is aged 14-17 by scientists to pilot experiment Frameworks in hopes of defeating the Cruxi; a mysterious alien race hell-bent on destroying humanity for unknown reasons.

A lot of things that happen with the mechs would be similar to the way they work in Evangelion in terms of synchronizing with them. The stronger your synchronization rate, the stronger your Framework. Not only that, but there will be specific roles you can specialize in that I will disclose later depending on how interest is!

I will say that not only will you face other Mechs and soldiers, but you will face certain foes that are comparable to the angels in Evangelion, or even stronger than them; this mean teamwork is critical!

Anyway, do tell me what you guys think! Questions, comments, suggestions, criticism... anything!

Well, these Frameworks are experimental, as stated above and one could say that they have a mind of their own- they choose their pilots rather than the pilots choosing them.

This is expressed by the following when someone enters one of these experimental Frameworks in an attempt to pilot them:

"We cast in the name of God... Ye are not Guilty." if you are the true Pilot, granting you the ability to pilot them with no repercussions.

"We cast in the name of God... Ye are Guilty." if you are not the true Pilot and thus resulting in the Framework going berserk or trying to kill you.

"We cast in the name of God... Ye are not" if the Framework has questioned your path/ideals as the true pilot, and as a result will refuse to work for you until you can convince it somehow.
Essentially, these Frameworks are relatively similar to those of the Megaduses of Big O and the Evas of Evangelion; they're somewhat sentient beings. They aren't blocky or anything of the such, in fact, they'd look more like something of a humanoid military-grade machine; they're more realistic looking than anything else. They can use normal weapons ranging from rifles, swords, and other various things, to adapting to use alien tech right on the spot... despite how dangerous as that might sound.

Some Frameworks may be bulkier or slender than others depending on their roles on the battlefield, but that can be up to the discretion of the players of course, however, there have been cases of slender models being Pointmen and taking the brute force while heavier models deal the damage.

In the end, they're humanoid looking and they serve mankind to save mankind... but if the pilot's will isn't strong enough, these special Frameworks will take control to do the job themselves.

I hope that answered your question, if not I'm really sorry. >_<

Interested, but why do pilots have to be teens that are beneath the age of majority in practically every country in the world? I could've just called them underage but technically there's like 12 countries that have the age of majority set under 18.

The time and setting where this RP is taking place, the world is united under one banner. There is no 'every country', for there is just a single 'country'; Mankind. While this obviously wouldn't work in the real world, things are desperate in this setting.

The reason of the specific age range is because I wanted it to be under 18, but I didn't want it to be so young that it got uncomfortable for other players, and another reason for the young aged pilots is because of the fact that I want to have things somewhat similar to Evangelion with adults using children to accomplish their needs despite the cost of things. This is also sort of what I had in mind for the plot of the RP.

Basically, think of it from an animated stand point or, in specific, Evangelion's standpoint.

So in the year 2590, what is the state of android development?
Aaaaalllso, I assume I am uncool because I have never seen Evegalion (even though I want to, sometime). Will my stark lack of coolness interfere with the overall experience? :x

There are indeed androids and cyborgs! Artificial intelligence has been fully fleshed out and developed, but it is more easier to send out a human soldier than it is to build artificial soldiers to fight, who could possibly turn against you due to the Cruxi's hacking capability. But yes, the development of Cyborgs and Androids are quite far, though the production of them are ranging to be uncommon due to the war. They are common enough that you will probably see them at desks and at military posts though.

Not at all! It should not interfere whatsoever, since I'm just using them as examples and comparisons to this RP. Again, this is an RP inspired by those things, but it is not something that requires one to watch them. If you have, good! If you haven't, that's fine!

Eva is kind of overrated. Also, I'm getting that the answer to the pilots' age being restricted is "because Eva did it"/"because cartoons designed to appeal to children use young protagonists", but okay I guess. I just have trouble channeling the kind of twat I was when I was 14-17, I'm a whole different kind of twat now.

I can feel the Eva expy vibe, I can work with it. But the lines directly lifted from Big O I'm a little less cool with.

Well, that isn't entirely true. The idea is that this is the age range where children are at the peak of when they are 'developing' and are most capable of being turned into experimental pilots. It's sounds a little silly, but hey, in the end you're meant to have fun in the RP.

Sorry about that!

I love Big O myself, and to be truthful those are honestly just place holders until I'm less buried in other stuff to come up with more creative lines which hold roughly the same meaning for them on my own. Sorry to offend a fellow fan ;-;

The younger they are, the more malleable they are. The better to shape and mold them into what you want, for the purpose of military fighters in this instance.

Maybe we can help with inspiring you and assisting in shaping this RP's world? So excited for bodysuits, mechs, and AI constructs in a military setting. *3*

If it is malleable you want, why not have even younger children, like around six to ten in terms of age? They are much more malleable than teenagers who can have the 'I'm MY OWN PERSON MAAAN.... YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND ME MOM/DAD." vibe.

Younger kids brains are developing and what not and are more inclined to taking in the knowledge instead of being at a state of wanting to reject it and such.

Heh, nice joke.

Although personally I'd prefer it if we'd keep those kind of things to ourselves. Besides, ages younger than the ones I've stated in a war setting can commonly make things uncomfortable for players, but perhaps you overlooked the part where I mentioned that in an above post while you were writing your own.

Please take the time to read before posting.

He does have a point though, the whole spiel about malleable minds doesn't really apply to teens. If you give a teen a warmachine he'll tell you to shove it up your ass because he wants to be a rock star or climb on it and wreck as much shit as possible. If it's malleable then it's child soldiers through and through. Unless our characters are implied/all but stated to have been raised for this, in which case we're still playing child soldiers, just grown up now. On this subject, I don't know why anyone would give control of experimental, potentially tide-turning equipment to child soldiers/teens instead of experienced veterans or even just older people who'll be able to handle the stress better on account of not being at a period of their lives where their own system conspires to make them less stable.

Well, being a young adult/teenager is a chaotic time for any of us. It's hard to believe any of us DON'T have a story where we were taken advantage of, manipulated, pressured into situations we would rather not be in. Now, say for instance the future soldiers were conscripted into military service at a younger age. Then all they would come to know is war, death, combat and etc. Well, as they mature, wouldn't that make them into one-dimensional mindless drones meant for the grave? You could say that the age was set a bit higher so that they can still have personalities and be able to think critically for themselves but still be young enough to control.

There also must be some reason that countless countries in the world recruit those aged 17-18 into their military. Like in the U.S. Military, if you're 17 years old but a Senior in High School, you're eligible to join.

Ultimately, Gnar would be the GM of the RP and whatever Gnar sets for the rules and boundaries of the game is the final and last word. We may be afforded the option to discuss and potentially change some things, but still Gnar is the final say. Personally, I don't have issues with the age limit of the characters.
Now for something a bit more constructive. Armor of God Bible verse Maybe pull something from this instead of Big O?
