Short Bio:
Jay was born to a single mother and absent father. Even though while growing up Jay could not afford much and did not go much of anywhere, her mother raised her to the best of her ability. Her mother worked two jobs and had to get Jay a babysitter for hours Jay was not at school and she was working. Jay stayed with an older spanish lady, whom she soon was very close to. Jay lived a childhood filled with imagination and freedom, then one dark night Jay awoke to a hair-raising scream. That scream that was of so familiar, was coming from her mother's lips that quivered as another familiar frame held a gun to Jay's mother's head. The gun fired, placing a bullet through the back of her mother's head. Jay couldn't scream, she couldn't make a noise, she couldn't move... The blood from the splatter of the gun shot ran down her face. She could never forget that warmth she felt of the red liquid as she watched her mother's body collapse to the hardwood floor at the feet of no other than her killer, the woman that had put her to bed at night, the woman who she at dinner with, her babysitter.
Several years later, at nine years old, Jay was taken out of foster care, and put into a juvenile rehabilitation center. There, Jay would spend her life from the age of nine years of age to fourteen. Jay was not crazy, she knew that, she just couldn't control the nightmares. They came with such force, she refused to sleep. She threatened her own life, wanting to rid her mind of the horrid memories that flooded back each and every night. She was monitored day and night, fed a special diet, didn't get to see outside, wasn't allowed to write anyone or receive any letters.. They had her on maximum lock down, afraid she would take her own life, but what they didn't know is they drove her farther into the darkness. At fifteen years Jay was taken out of the rehab center and adopted by a family who specialized in raising "special" children. Jay doesn't get along with them, they want to contain her and conform her into their ways. But as Jay says in her favorite quote, "All good things are wild and free."
