I am hoping that you are okay with allowing a late addition to your dungeon-looting express. I already have a character idea, it involves a crazed ratman (Not a full race) alchemist.

To the regards of weapons, why does he need so many?

For his character, what particular weapon type would he wield?

I'm still accepting characters.

I'm going to try and get through the remaining bios I missed or need to judge as well. ^^;

Fantastic! I'll get right into the CS then. I'll probably edit it later based on what dungeon I choose to go to since I have yet to read any of the dungeon progress yet.

...And the first thing that comes to mind here is "DIE-DIE, MAN-THING!", followed by an explosion and the lingering smell of burnt fur. XD

I built Jon around the concept of a guy who has a bunch of weapons, but I had a reason for having so many.

The broadsword is a very versatile sword, capable of a lot of different things. The scimitar is lighter and faster than the broadsword and can be used for different things. I also figured Jon could switch it up so he could dual wield a scimitar and a broadsword or something. The retractable poleaxe functions like a normal axe when not a poleaxe. Axes are useful for when heavier cutting blows are needed. It can transform into a poleaxe to add range. Then the mace is for heavily armoured dudes because its weight allows it to basically ignore armour. The shield is, obviously, to block attacks.

So Jon doesn't wield a particular weapon because no one weapon is useful for all situations. The reason he's foraging in the dungeon is to find the one perfect weapon, but he makes do by carrying a lot of different weapons to suit his situations as needed.

VitaVitaAR said I don't really know how "lowers attack damage" and stuff like that applies to a prose-based RP.

"A specific fatigue wears on those affected by the hex, they find themselves unable to effectively wield their weapons, they miss more, and the attacks they do land aren't nearly as strong as they would be if they were at full strength. A dark aura impairs magic of any enemies of Isi and her party, combined with the fatigued physical attackers, they find their opponents attacks do less."

It was really a brevity thing, I don't particularly write a unique, fluffed up description for each attack, when I'm going to need to do the same thing, unique to context, every time she uses an incantation in the RP.

@TheRider: Okay, I want to know how old he actually is(since that determines some of the things he may have been around for) and what shadow manipulation entails.

@Darcs: My issue here is that the descriptions still don't convey what they actually do. Increases defense could mean they get huge suits of armor, or that they get some kind of magical shielding temporarily. "Enemies more susceptible to physical attacks" doesn't really mean anything outside of a context like a video game where enemies can have strict weaknesses and resistances. Unless it's heavily armored or incorporeal, everything's going to be susceptible to physical attacks, and armor can be weakened or worked around. I don't know how these apply to a prose RP at all.

@Archangel: One little detail I didn't quite notice and it's honestly just kind of one of my pet peeves, but obsidian, especially since there's probably not many volcanoes around, probably wouldn't be very useful to make into a longsword. ^^; Otherwise he's fine.

@ThePatriarch: Since you're still planning to add a backstory, I'll wait for now.

@Scarifar: Dungeon accepted.

@Exodus: Accepted.

@LordSanta: My issue is less that he couldn't carry so many weapons and more that he's a bit too adjusted for a whole ton of combat roles since he has so many different weapons.

@ClosetNerd: Okay, um... I have a lot of problems here. ^^;

First off, his backstory honestly doesn't gel well with the rest of the setting at all. You don't explain his abilities, or what orc fever is. His equipment, like the bombs(to a lesser extent) and the spinning flamethrower(biggest offender) are also a bit on the too high tech side for this setting as well.

I will note that i edited my CS about 17 minutes ago which may or may not be an improvement. There i mentioned the abilities as a placeholder, meaning fully intend on giving full descriptions of them. I removed the discoveries list entirely, though I will note that as an alchemist there is about half and half between magic and tech so the flaming pinwheel, while it really isn't overly powerful (without a very large drawback as far as materials are concerned, that thing would waste a LOT of lethal reagents before even hitting a target) I think would be mildly acceptable. If you do not agree then I will refrain from using that toy in practice. I also reworded the personality section entirely, please take the violent side with a grain of salt as this is a fairly rare thing for him to do. Even if it is quite... noticeable...

Orc Fever was really just a name plastered onto a hollow idea of disease, once again the list where this was included has been deleted. I do intend on using some form of disease in the rp as a weapon, deterrent or torture device and when I do so I will explain the ailment thoroughly.

I am curious as to why the backstory is not fitting. I assume it has something to do with a lack of street peddling or a black market in Merida or just a general lack of mad scientists. I will get to fixing that as soon as I am fully aware of the problems therein. Speaking of the setting, I don't really seem to have a full grasp of what era of humanity the RP represents. Fantasy settings seem to mix so many elements of history in a big pot that it gets difficult to determine what is acceptable and what isn't.

And I am sorely sorry for making something so rife with issues. I would be glad to clear this up.

Edited in some description for the abilities, the more major ones have fairly major drawbacks. Mostly related to clumsiness.

I'll look at the edits shortly.

For the moment, the backstory matters if you're going to make one. I want to know what the backstory is before accepting you, if you're going to include one. If not, I'm operating under the assumption that the character's backstory just wasn't that noteworthy.

@Vita: If it's just that, I could have Jon start out with a broadsword and a shield and have him slowly expand his armoury as the RP goes on. Would that work?

I'm quite interested in rping around Isi considering that my character is based around randomness by clumsiness. Also I might introduce a potion of randomness for some comedic relief. Especially since they would not see eye to eye on anything other than randomness. Reginald is athiestic, slightly sadistic city/sewer-dweller with a profession and appearance that are both about as unnatural as you get. I assume you already understand why those things are quite opposite to Isi, so i think if they end up in the same dungeon that they would have a very interesting relationship. And if it turns to rivalry then count me in for sure XD
