Name of nation: Felin (Pronounced Fee-lin)
Species: Cat (No, really)
Description of government: A monarchy, with a sort of system where lesser leaders of Felin have to vote on laws, a 35% or more and the king's vote passes, but can be repealed if the public order goes too low, or if it is deemed bad by the king or a successor. The "lesser leaders" are known as The Monarch's Court Officials, or "an MCO".
If the king dies with no successor, the MCOs vote for the new leader, but can't vote for themselves. (We don't want a 50+ way tie, now, do we?)
Description of military: The army of Felin has weapons very similar to real-life-2015 weapons, but they fit onto a cat's paw and are controlled by thought, which is why their military technology is not better, as it is really hard to incorporate those with every new design. The thought part of the weapon is put into motion by robotic tendril-like things that come out of a special suit and do the firing/reloading and such. They have hovering vehicles controlled by a variation of the thought-suit thing, but they only hover from an adjustable range of 1-6 feet in the air. They have yet to design spaceships that can be reliable as a fleet, but they have passenger ships that can ferry civilians between Felin and the planet's (named Cat, because of the inhabitants' horrible creativity) moon (Cat B, see naming for Cat for reasons).
Cultural Overview: They live in buildings filled with cat trees and the like, and have wall-mounted laser pointers for exercise and entertainment. They eat mainly cat food and drink water, and their planet lacks livestock, so they hope they will be able to bring some from the nearby planet TGF-2 (Short for The Great Fire, the name for their star, and the 2 is because they are the second closest from the star, and Cat is the first.), which has rich vegetation and possibly animal life, and possibly primitive civilizations. They hate their destroyed former rival nation, The Cat Empire, because of a history of wars going two or three thousand years back. Their allies are The Cat Republic. (As I've said, the cats on this planet have about as much imagination for naming things as potatoes.) They do not have a religion, as the concept was never introduced to them.
History: They were founded on 1 CC (Civilized Cats), as was The Cat Empire. The First Cat War lasted from 55 CC to 71 CC, and as a result the TCE gained about 7% of Felin's land, and the TCR was founded. They had quite a few more wars, and I will list their dates here. War of Cats: 194 CC to 231 CC, War of the Free Cats of Empirical Intentions, 355 CC to 376 CC, resumed on and off, 412 CC to 547 CC, 712 CC to 894 CC, and 900 CC to 902 CC, before forever being crushed. Cat enjoyed a long period of peace, from 902 CC all the way to 1724 CC, when the New Cat Dynasty arrived in the TCE. A long period of war that was just some cats invading others every few decades, lasted from 1725 CC to 2154 CC. Then Felin and the TCR nuked most of The Cat Empire in 2155 CC (2064 AD on Earth), creating a radioactive charred wasteland that used to be a nation. It is expected to be safe to live in in 2544, and until then they are trying to find a new planet, after the joining of Felin and the TCR.
