> Oh yes I know the properties of photons and that. True as that may be, the ability to manipulate photons in itself is impossible, so the whole situation requires a fair bit of suspension of disbelief. With things like controlling and building technological constructs with one's mind and imbuing arrows with kinetic energy, altering their velocity and vector, and other such things, it isn't that far of a stretch. So why not, I say. Nice to see another science enthusiast though!
Oh, I know, the entire concept of superheroes is based on a certain level of bullshit. Don't worry, I had no intention of enforcing the laws or reality in a highly fictional universe. I just thought it was a thing worth mentioning, and as such I mentioned it.

> If ya wanna be technical shootin' fireballs out of a magical symbol isn't possible either :D
Sure it is, you'd simply need to find a way of generating a highly combustible substance and launching it at the opponent. Assuming the existence of magical energy which could cause energy-to-matter transformation, as well as creating and directing kinetic energy, creating gouts or balls of flame is quite possible. if you were to create a core of explosive materials separated by a thin layer of material, you could even have them explode, effectively summoning grenades.
