I wouldn't call myself an extreme Whedon or Tarantino fan, but I haven't seen anything directed by either of them that I haven't enjoyed.

Red Dwarf, better than Firefly!?! Blasphemous! Bite your black tongue before it jumps out of your mouth in disgust at the falseness that coats your words!
don't care lol joking aside I don't like Joss Whedon, next to Quintin Tarantino I think he is one of the most overrated directors in hollywood and his TV Shows don't interest me. I also hate his extreme fans who call him the god of the nerds.
This Joss Whedon hate, I know who you are... You're Yog Sothoth!
You do know a lot of people don't like joss Whedon right? Don't act like he's universally praised. Are you seriously going to tell me that only one person out of thousands of Guild members doesn't like Joss Whedon?
Well I have other reasoning to believe you're the same individual but I do believe that Joss Whedon is universally praised, perhaps not unanimously but for the most part, Joss Whedon is held in high esteem.

I didn't say you can't enjoy their movies, but I personally don't see all the hype and I have watched a several of Tarantino's movies, they're good but not good enough for me to hold him such high esteem like some of his fans do.

Alright, technically he's not 'universally' praised, he is however widely praised and widely held in high regard. I mean the praise he recieved for the Avengers and likely will receive for Age of Ultron far exceeds even the praise received by Nolan for The Dark Knight (specifically the midquel, while Begins is very good, Rises was trash). In terms of Marvel movies alone, I'd have to say the Avengers is really only trumped by Guardians and maybe Winter Soldier.

I think Winter Soldier is the best of the marvel movies.

Admittedly it is very good, I did however prefer Guardians, I don't think there's any Marvel movie that I can re-watch as often as I have watched GOTG. Before this point, The Dark Knight was the only superhero flick I would put on frequently.

I prefer Tarantino, in fact both of seem similar in the sense that they are very script oriented, but Tarantino is more funny and seems more clever with his writing

Funny you mentioned the winter soldier, I actually think the guys who made cap 2 did a better job than Whedon, sorry but after watching the avengers several times the jokes Just lose their appeal and once you take away the jokes the script is not that great, guardians of the galaxy is almost the same way.

Just to clarify most of my dislike of Joss whedon comes from from his political views and his rabid fans, sorry but rabid fanboyism is the reason geek culture has gotten such a bad name, I've been called many derogatory names for not liking certain things and liking things that aren't popular

I just thought that WS had the tighter script, and the action sequences were second to none in the MCU. I know it gets alot of flak, but I can re-watch Man of Steel again and again. Not a big fan of Zac Snyder, but that movie hits alot of the right buttons for me.

If Man of Steel had less citywide destruction I would be more of a fan. I know Supes was more or less just learning his powers but why couldn't they battle on the moon or something?

I'm just hoping this new X-Men movie with Apocalypse is good. I have very high hopes for it. I just don't like the time period, in my opinion.

From what I heard in the novelization of the move, superman tries to fly zod into the ocean and fight, but zod forces them back towards the city

Yeah but movie novelizations are kind of like fan fiction sometimes. I mean the movie is the canon and there was no evidence of that in the movie.

True, but I don't superman could have gotten them away from the city since it is very hard to contain someone who is basically your equal in strength. Also I think the destruction was necessary because it was an alien invasion and the entire world was threatened.
