Devika stood frozen in place when Nicholas hugged it. It was just so unexpected. She hadn't given that kind of affection to anyone in a long time, and anyone who knew her well enough to hug her knew the consequences of doing so. Nick was stronger than she'd expected, and warm. The sprinklers were on and the hallways were flooding, and she really wasn't surprised by weird things anymore.
