The silence from the professor was agonizing. Trad had worked his heart out practicing for the exam, only to fail in misery. It was probably his fault too, he was over protective of his team and got in their way trying to shield them from attacks they most likely could have avoided. That didn’t stop him though. He continued his practice and learned from his mistakes during the exam, and as luck would have it, it paid off. Now here he was, in the headmaster’s office waiting to hear the verdict. The anxiety was killing him, and the disapproving stares of Ms. Goodwitch only made things worse. Still, he did his best to stand firm and at attention. Finally Ozpin spoke, reminding him and the others of their humiliation during the exams. He couldn’t help but feel this might not be the reconsideration he had hoped for. Then, he heard the words from Ozpin, "That is why you four are hereby admitted to Beacon Academy” Trad couldn’t help but smile. Despite all that had happened he was now a student of Beacon! His joy was quickly hushed by an even colder stare from Goodwitch, as if to remind him of how thin of ice he would be on. When the team was dismissed and they all left the office, Trad let out a long sigh, “I’m not the best when it comes to history, but I think we may be the first rejects to be allowed in.” Trad wasn't sure he could eat just yet, he was still trying to take in the fact that he was now a student. More than that, he was member of a team! Still, they could use the time to get a game plan. Figure out schedules and class locations. "I think that's the right way. If not I'm sure we'll find it one way or another."

IC: "It's the right way," Amaranth said, her eyes staying straight ahead, not looking at any of her teammates. "Let's eat before lunch is over, or we're going to have to face the legitimate students with empty stomachs." She looked slightly to the side, sizing up each of the others standing in the hall. Trad and Ben were easy enough to read, Sangue was a little more difficult... She was going to have to get used to them. Sangue, entirely offense, but blunt as anything... Trad, an excellent defender, self styled Guardian of Remnant. Benjamin Lloyd, fast, adaptable... But every sign pointed to him being slacker. Hell, they were going to have to get used to her. She almost felt sorry for them. Amaranth Desire. If that wasn't a name somebody could judge her by, she didn't know what was. Amaranth Desire, dressed in clothes that would make her grandmother blush... They were all human, too, and while she didn't paint any of them as being prejudiced, they still didn't know she was a... Faunus. Her hand went to the collar around her neck, one finger slipping inside it–was she nervous? Her chest rose and fell in a deep breath, and she sighed. "Call me Amy. Not Amaranth."

"Ben. Good to meet you." He extended a hand to shake, the other kept in his pocket. It was kind of funny, Benjamin thought, that he'd gotten to know how they fought, but had yet to actually get to know them. His teammates. Stuck together for four years, if he was lucky, first met days ago, and only now getting around to proper introductions. Showed where all of their priorities were. A faint grin crossed his face, only a moment after he held out his hand. "Well, officially. Don't really count fighting, though. Isn't really an introduction." Amaranth, he decided, was both one of the easiest to read, and the hardest to work out. Her attire was decidedly... Unusual, and she didn't really look like the type to attend Beacon. Then again, first impressions were remarkably deceptive. Those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones and all that. "Hell of a "welcome to Beacon", huh?"

"Its a pleasure." Trad shook their hands as well. It was strange how different they all acted out of combat. Ben not only fought like a warrior, but he immediately took charge of the situation and commanded the team. Now he seemed more laid back as if he'd rather go with the flow than take and charge. Amy was the same. While fighting the Grimm, she was fierce and strong, taking head on any that was unfortunate enough to get near her. Yet as they stood there, she fidgeted with her collar, like she was unsure or nervous about the situation. Sangue was probably the only one who differed the least. She was fast and merciless during the Grimm attack and currently had a dark and slightly unwelcoming look on her face. On the other hand, this was only the first encounter with his team, and right now they were all still processing the news of their sudden acceptance. They could all be completely new people once they got more relaxed. "So... Shall we go?"

IC: Amaranth stopped fidgeting with her collar, shook both of their hands and smiled slightly. "A 'welcome' is the kindest term for it. They called us up there, said that we suck, and then said 'good luck with proving us wrong'." She paused, chewing the inside of her cheek. "Well, to be fair, the headmaster seemed okay enough with us. Good#####, on the other hand..." Her hand fell to her side, clenching into a fist before relaxing. "We're going to prove her and her stupid exams wrong. We're going to prove that a bunch of washouts can and will be the best students this place has ever produced." She stripped her hat off, letting her hair and her feathers out. "And to that extent, gonna have to be honest with each other. I'm a Faunus and I have a past I'd rather forget. Sangue, you're creepy, Ben, your hair is annoying, and Trad... You need to shave. Think that covers it."

"Amy, you're distracting. Don't think that covers it." Bastion's team leader shot back, his tone and the grin crossing his face were the easiest indicators that he was joking. He idly ran a hand through his hair, looking thoughtful for a moment. In fairness, he hadn't combed it that morning. ... Nor did he usually. Then he shrugged, letting out quiet laugh. "And I'm not sure that's how you're supposed to talk to a team leader." "But I like your attitude. Ignore the mop on my head and we'll be fine. Can't speak for Trad, though, dude totally looks mean." Another chuckle, this time directed jokingly at the other teenager. 'Good#####', he had to admit, that was clever. Probably grounds for some very severe detentions if heard, but clever. It was going to be an interesting ride.

Ivan's face fell as Ineko left, taking most of his reason for talking to the blandly colored broad with neon hair away with him. Robo-boy with his unmoving mouth was the sole reason that he got involved with this trash-talking chick in the first place. He sighed, straightening his floppy hat on his head and checking himself over for sauce stains from Shiro's entrance before making his counter-argument. "Girlie, if you saw me getting knocked around, you're as blind as you are annoying." The larger man turned back to his sandwiches momentarily, retrieving one of the unfinished halves that hadn't been splattered in Indigo's sup-par pasta sauce. "The magician is been of an opponent than your skinny ass will ever be, but those so-called 'unadaptable shots' of mine managed to knock out his aura down to minute levels. I can't seem to find the point where my tactics were, ah, countered." His lips curled back in something that could have easily been a snarl or the second coming of the annoying grin at her counter to his 'already going behind her back' comment."Ah, but Sappy, you were invited with the rest of us non-teammates. Can't seem to see the leaderly respect in that."

"Ummm. Well okay." Trad was completely taken back, Amy went from nervous to completely open and critical. Well, an attempt at criticism. Did she really try getting at him for his stubble? There's only so much a man can control about his hair! Before he could say anything, Ben returned fire and eased the situation. "Hey!" Trad spoke harshly silencing the two, "I am not mean, just a little rugged." His tone changed to that of an pouting child. As soon as he spoke, Trad couldn't help but chuckle. He had a feeling this team of "washouts" was going to get along just fine.

Sapphire Rode - Cafeteria

Sapphire smiled at Ivan's attempt to defend his sorry excuse for a sparring match. He'd been essentially useless in the ring. Only two of his shots had actually done any real damaged compared to the twenty or so he'd fired. The only reason Merlin hadn't won was because Ivan had realized he couldn't score vitory and decided to take his opponent with him essentially committing suicide. It was both desperate and foolish and not really effective if you wanted to live to fight a second time.

"Funny I thought a miscalculation of his abilities with dust was what put his aura in the red but don't worry about it dear, as long as you tried your best that's all anyone can really expect from you. And by the way the fact that you can't seem to see where you went wrong is the reason you'll never make it as a Hunter. You've gotta be able to learn from your mistakes and the fact that your arguing with me about how good you seem to think your utter failure was just proves that you are anything but adaptable."

Sapphire flared with anger when Ivan called her Sapphy, no one called her that. Her sisters abbreviated her name to Saph and Sapphire didn't mind only because they were family. Rather than threaten him however Sapphire let the moment pass. If she made a big deal of the nickname she would never hear her real name from his mouth.

The next thing he said almost made her laugh. "So you think it would have been more respectful if they'd not offered me the food they did to all of you? Well whatever, I lost my lunch to Fuzzball's landing so might as well take them up on there offer. Incidentally You're partner seems to have run off, says something about what he thinks of your attempt to defend is honor." Sapphire said with a condescending grin on her face before turning her back on Ivan and walking up to the table were most of her team was waiting. "You guys still got some extras or should I go pick something new up from the caf?" It had been pretty clear from last night that none of them got along particularly well with her so if they wanted to refuse her a seat at there table it wouldn't really matter to her.

Priscilla looked at Rayna as she rose an eyebrow but shrugged her head. She wasn't really in the mood to be talking to her because of what she did to her back on the arena when they were fighting. So all Priscilla did was a fake acting scene, nod her head and say thank you. But she wasn't really in the mood to be talking to Rayna. That was when Robert came in and decided to be protective, that was cute and sweet of him to do but she didn't really need the protection. Priscilla had her stuff under controlled. "It's okay, Robert... don't worry about it..and Greyson as well." she smiled at the both of them and stood up from her table, throwing away her food on the garbage which she really wasn't that hungry because clearly she lost her appetite. As she walked away from the others.

As Robert stared angrily at Rayna, one of her teammates approached him from behind and said, "Please treat Captain Rayna with respect, sir." Robert immediately got defensive, replying back, "Me? I didn't do anything. She-" Suddenly, Greyson interrupted him, trying to defuse the situation by saying, "Robert it's not what you think. Yes, Rayna may sound mean, but she's not insulting Priscilla. If she was, I'd tell her to screw off and leave us alone before I would make her leave, but she's just giving Priscilla advice." Robert turned to Greyson, thinking on what he had said. Well, Robert only picked up some of the conversation, it was possible that he was in the wrong here. Priscilla finally spoke up and gave her own input. "It's okay, Robert... don't worry about it... and Greyson as well," she said. Then she got up from her seat and began to walk away. Robert stepped in the direction she went, but stopped when he remembered what had caused this whole awkward situation. He turned back to Rayna and Victor, looked down in shame, let out a sigh, then finally looked back up to them. "I'm sorry. I overreacted and snapped at you. Both of you. A leader should be more rational than that and think things through more," he said. He then looked back toward Greyson, giving him a nod of appreciation. "Now, if you'll all excuse me," he said before fast walking in the direction Priscilla had left. As soon as he saw Priscilla again, he shouted, "Hey Priscilla! Wait up, I wanted to say something!" Robert picked up his pace, while still trying to not spill his untouched lunch, and finally caught up to her. "Hey, I wanted to say...um, something... uhhh." His mind struggled to remember what it was that he wanted to say. "Umm... umm... think, think, think." He had to say something, he already had her attention. "Uh, do you wanna, like, go out sometime... together... just the two of us?" he finally said. Had that been what he originally wanted to say to her? He couldn't remember. But Robert was sure that if Priscilla said yes that this would be way better than what he was going to say originally.

"Whoops." Things had not gone as well as he had hoped. Apparently when he had landed, his own team leader had reacted the same as she did whenever they were in the infirmary together. She having drawn her weapons on him, yet again. Looking around at the generally negative looks and remarks he was receiving for having disrupted their lunches, his ears and tail drooped and he slowly slunk off of the table. He didn't realize that he had made such a mess of the other students' food. He was sure he landed perfectly. Maybe he was heavier than he looked. 170 Ibs wasn't that heavy, right? His expression could only be described as utter heartbreak. He didn't mean to elicit the reaction he did. Scratching the back of his head nervously, he attempted a weak smile. "S-sorry. I didn't mean to make a mess of things.." Seeing some of the students leave and take him up on his offer, he turned back to them and repeated himself. "B-but our offer still stands, y'all are still welcome to come join us at our table!" He looked at their relatively annoyed faces. Was there already bad blood between some of them? The mood and atmosphere seemed tense. He looked around again at the mess his landing caused. "S-sorry again.." He really needed to work on his decision making. Leaving the table, he got on all fours and swiftly made his way back to his table. Slinking underneath tables, chairs and between legs as he did so. Returning to his table, he came up behind Gren who was cooking away. White ears and gold eyes peering from behind him, he tapped on Gren's armor. His comical face said it all.

A red-haired woman simply nodded as Ozpin seemingly gave her a huge chance. ... As happy as she was, she also seemed disinterested in paying attention to anything other than the fact that she somehow got admitted into Beacon Academy by simply slaying some Grimm with one blade. Either Ozpin was really nice, she was stronger than she thought she was, or the Academy in general was not as demanding as she thought it would be. Or maybe it was all three of those. She squinted as she followed her team aimlessly, pondering about what kinds of incidents could possible erupt within the Academy. She also heard something about someone being creepy, though her aloof mind seemed to brush away the fact that she was the creepy person in question. Her claw unknowingly dragged itself behind her, causing the piece of metal to continuously screech in an annoying, yet rhythmic pattern.

“Like I’ve been used as a chew toy by a Tutankamun. Three broken ribs and my left arm is pretty much all bruise. It should be around two to three weeks before I am allowed to seriously exercise again. Fortunately I do get to go on missions due to Unsubtle being what it is.” Marcus replied, adjusting slightly to emphasise his bandaged arm. "With the way this is going, there won't be students left to fight in a few days." Diamond observed. “I hope not, taking on all of their missions would be tiresome.” Marcus deadpanned. When Diamond warned him about the mess in the food court, Marcus scanned the crowd. “Thank you but I will take my chances. Vending machine food is not really my idea of a filling lunch.” he said as it seemed that for now the imminent crisis was averted. He was kind of curious how the table Aurellius sat at became such a mess, but decided not to ask. If the answer was embarrassing he would hear all about it simply by listening in. “I would be happy to join you later though.” he added, he really did appreciate Diamond’s offer, especially in light of how coldly she behaved when they met. Offering to eat together was a marked improvement. Right then, time for the food. Now all he had to do was figure out how to manoeuvre around the food court with only one functional arm. “Er, could you please give me a hand with this Diamond?” he asked as he tried to pry free a tray from the rack with one hand. “No pun intended.” Marcus added hastily.

"It would seem like there isn't enough people with healing abilities being born. Maybe we should hire someone." she rolled her eyes, "And if your aura is worth a mention, it should cut a week off of that time." she shrugged. Her aura has always been a strong one. If it was true that it - along with the semblance - reflected one's character, she supposed that she was indeed carefully, correctly wrong this whole time. When he thought out loud about them having to do all of the work, her eyes widened. Surely the staff wasn't as insane as to have them do that?! Diamond was no slacker, but come on! She supposed they would just have more to pick form! Preferably those with some Lien flowing to their pockets. Maybe she could check the mission board on her way out. She nodded to Marcus and turned to leave when he asked her to help him. She looked at the room full of people and then at Marcus through narrowed eyes. "I have an appearance to uphold you know?" she said, but afterwards sighed and picked up a spare tray and followed after him, picking up what he wanted. When she set his tray at the table he chose, she turned to leave again but a tap on the elbow stopped her. "Hey! Pass the salt!" another student said. Calmly turning around, Diamond hooked her cane behind his neck and pulled his face close while bending over to be at his eye level: "Do I look like a servant to you?" she snarled before letting him go and storming off. Helping her team was one thing, but if she did that with everyone, she'd have to start kicking puppies every morning to make up for all the positive karma.

"I'm afraid we would need to rob a bank a month to afford that, there are never enough healers to go around. So for now I think I shall just wait for nature to take it's course. Besides most doctors like to take it slowly to be on the safe side." Marcus said. Apparently his remark about work upset her slightly, so he elaborated with a simple dry "That was a joke." "Much obliged." Marcus thanked her as Diamond helped him grab his food. He hesitated a moment when he had to pick whether to sit next to Aurellius or Oswald, but in the end chose the table that did not look like the aftermath of a light hurricane and had a grill going. One where the grill cheff had little qualms about sharing if he heard correctly. "Gentlemen." he greeted the assembled group as he took a seat next to Oswald. Behind him he heard the predictable outcome of someone without manners to get Diamond to help them. "I would apologise for my teammate. Consider using please next time." he offered to the student in question. That settled, he turned around to the assembly gathered around the grill. "Sorry about that. Marcus Goldstein at your service." he introduced himself.

IC: "I don't do a lot of things I'm supposed to do, Ben. It's what makes me so endearing," Amy said, her voice dripping with sarcasm and the left corner of her mouth turning up in a good-natured smirk. "My clothes don't cover it, that's the problem. And... Then, there was the screech of Sangue's claw on the ground. Amy was just glad her Semblance was dialed all the way down. "Dear God I am going to..." She bit her tongue, threatening people, even jokingly, when she was already on thin ice, was not a good idea. Especially considering that they had arrived in the lunch room, and were in full view of the school. "Well, would you look at that..."

Ivan snorted at the comments about his battle, still quite confident in his tie."It's called saving your tactics, girlie. Don't show your hand on the first day, or people will call ya boring." He glanced up at the mention of respect. "I don't wanna hear that from the girl who-" Her comment about Ineko's absence hit the large and overconfident man like a truck. Slack jawed, he spluttered something about 'not my fault' and 'that's not fair', before turning away as he turned red in the face. All traces of arrogant mirth gone, Ivan muttered something unintelligible under his breath and stalked away toward the door, pausing only to snarl a "What're you looking at!?" at the closest gaggle of students as he passed by. He needed some damn air, that was all.

Rayna was just finishing with her nice speech that Priscilla seemed completely uninterested in but that wasn't the point. The point was that Robert thought he could just come on over here and get all up in her grill. She wasn't being a bitch to Priscilla and frankly, she didn't even mean to do what she did earlier, even if it did work surprisingly well. At that point, it looked like it might descend into a dispute of sorts as Victor moved into position behind Robert - she'd have to commend him for his excellent positioning later. "Me? I did-" Her well-planned retort was suddenly interrupted by another member of Rampaged who was apparently taking her side in all of this. "Yeah, what he said." She nodded in support of Greyson - it was good to know that there was at least some honourable students at Beacon. Rayna crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow at Robert, wallowing shamelessly in their small victory. She did decide to forgive him though because the last thing she needed was more people who hated her in Rampaged. "Sure, I guess I can forgive you but I don't know about Victor, he's probably hurt after you offended his great captain." She quipped, teasing Victor a little as she winked playfully at him. "Speaking of which, Victor do you have my lunch with you?" She seemed desperate to eat, requiring the much-needed sustenance immediately. Once her food had been successfully returned, she ate in relative happiness - the day wasn't bad so far. Nothing too impossible and where she fell short, she always had her teammates. It took her about ten minutes but finally she picked up on it. "Do you think that gung-ho Rampaged leader has a thing for Priscilla?"

Giving the males of team SASG a nod as they asked him how he took his meat, Oswald felt his lips curl into a half-smile. "I take it medium-rare. Only way to take it out in the field. Any less is dangerous, any more takes too damn long. Thanks. And I gotta ask....how the hell did you get your hands on this much meat? It's day one of classes, after all." The scent of the steaks cooking was almost too much. He'd lived mostly on preserved food for the weeks before arriving at Beacon, and the opportunity to eat anything not packaged to last as long as possible was greatly welcomed, even if he'd already had a meal before this. It couldn't hurt to pack on the calories, especially after his sparring with Sapphire. Speaking of that girl, he couldn't help but notice she was still arguing with that green-haired dude from the table they'd been sitting at before. Oswald just shrugged and rolled his eyes. Let her get worked up over a few words between classmates, nothing he was concerned with. Marcus's arrival at the table was more pressing. And it seemed Diamond was even helping him carry his food over. Maybe this team wasn't so doomed after all. Diamond's reaction to being asked to get salt was...to be expected. Man, that kid had to be a little slow or something, to pull a stunt like that. Wasn't it obvious that she was another student? "Hey boss, glad to see you're back. Ya did good, even if it wasn't too pretty. Wish I could say the same for the rest of our team. Diamond had a hell of an opponent with that....weird ability. What kind of semblance was that anyway? Looked like it knocked the girl's attack right back at her. And Aurellius? Well...to be fair, against a guy that quick, I wonder how well I'd have done too. Sapphire's a quick little thing, but at least you can see her. Usually. Until she pulls that disappearing trick." Inclining his head towards the girl in question, Oswald shrugged. "She's good, too. Would've done well back home."
