ROLEPLAYER SHEET

Age: 16
Frequency Online: I’ll be for a few hours between classes and for several hours outside of school.
Responsibilities Offline: I’ve got two classes a day and no major responsibilities in sight.
Favorite tv shows or books: Game of Thrones (I haven’t read the books), Brynhildr in the Darkness was really good, also general slice of life anime nonsense like K-On!, Haganai, and Papakiki.
Why do you like to write/RP: I’ve just always liked the idea of creating a character and giving them a story to tell. I’m a pretty stale person in real life, so filling a character feels natural to me, like it becomes my identity while I’m writing for them.

Roleplayer Sheet:

Age:

24

Frequency Online:

Nights and weekends, sometimes between my classes.

Responsibilities Offline:

I am a full time college student, I also commute to said hell-hole so that also eats at my time. I help my parents cook/clean when I get home so most nights I'll be busy doing something. Be that as it may, I do have things on here to do and I have faith that I'll be able to get to things reasonably like an adult. I have access via tablet, phone and PC and when I can get a few hours (not just a few minutes) I do hope on since I'd rather hunker down and work, than have pressure to do something ultra fast before I have something else to do.

Favorite tv show or books:

I'd say Doctor Who is pretty spiffy but the last couple of seasons have been less than amazing. I do watch Game of Thrones, it's alright but again, getting a little stale after a while. I'm watching Breaking Bad too. I love Orphan Black and Top Gear, both amazing shows. And then there's the old school anime like The Slayers, Yu Yu Hakusho, Fruits Basket, Case Closed, dot hack, Ghost in the Shell etc. Books? Harry Potter is always cool, close to my heart but since I'm a writer, reading lately has taken less priority but when I have more time, I'll probably get back into it.

Why do you like to write/RP:

It's what I want to get paid for. I'm majoring in Creative Writing and I just love that with roleplaying, you're not alone, you get input and ideas and twists from other people who care about a story that once didn't exist, but now is.

Time with Tokyo Sector:

2 Years, joined in 2020.

Background:

Natazume Corey was born in Osaka, Japan 1996.

Her mother was Japanese and her father was British. Her parents met when her mother was in London for the holiday. They quickly fell in love as most people do in their early twenties and traveled the world together, both putting aside their budding careers for one another. Natazume's father, Andy, was part of a pretty well off family. They weren't obsessively wealthy but they were well off thanks to old money and hard work that had been passed from the generations. Her mother, Mimamoru Uede, was a passionate baker and enjoyed learned what she could in Europe on her many visits around the area. Mimamoru and Andy married after two years together and three years later, Mimamoru was pregnant with Natazume.

Natazume was raised in Osaka but the family would travel to London fairly often which is what prompted Natazume to elect to go to school there while her parents stayed in Osaka. Natazume was enrolled in a boarding school in Britain and found a love for reading and writing. She ended up winning a few school contests and came back to Japan when she was eighteen, having been away since she was twelve. During her education, her parents had visited her a few times a year but they wanted their only child to learn independence and to find her own interests on her own.

Upon her return home, she decided she wanted to go to college in order to pursue a career in editing and publication which was still growing, despite the fact that 90% of books, magazines, etc were all electronically published. Some people were aiming to keep the tangible book alive but Natazume knew times were changing and that fighting against it would be a losing battle so she focused her education on helping writers make the shift to electronic use. She made sure they knew it was better for the environment, easily translatable, and thus it could reach across the globe, something paper books struggled to do without dinging someone's pocketbook. Natazume graduated in Literary Electronics with a minor in Software Self-Editing which was a minor very few colleges could offer since most of the classes were being recently added to universities.

In 2016, when she was 20 and halfway through her aforementioned education, she was tapped to become a Corrector due to her passion for education and acceptance of the changes going on around in her field of writing and publication. The Gvn felt her ease of melting modern changes with the future's budding technology, that she would be capable of using that same insight to help combat the growing online unrest. Natazume began training as a Corrector with the Osaka Sector and quickly grew to find that physically expressing herself was just as thrilling as creating stories with letters and words. As she graduated school at age 23, she had also come into her own as a Corrector.

Since she was showing to be capable of handling a life on her own, her parents moved back to London, leaving their daughter in Osaka to make a life of her own. Natazume was tremendously grateful for their support and that they never pushed her in one way or the other, and that they accepted her will to push herself without outside help. At the age of 24, after spending four years with Osaka and the others, she was transferred to Kyoto due to their lack of candidates. Natazume was used to help train people and polish them up. After shaping up Kyoto's Correctors for six months, she was then tasked to join her old friends in Tokyo in 2020.

Throughout Natazume's life as a Corrector, she had yet to upgrade. When she started off, she was someone who decided to use spells from afar under the then alias, Air. Her magic of course, was entirely wind and air based but after she stock piled enough upgrades and found herself ready to go to Tokyo, she gave herself a new transformation as a knight who wielded a shield and shiny black spear under her name name, Crystal. Her stockpile of upgrades was been used up and she was spending any extra time when she wasn't working part time as a consultant to writers and publishers, she was training to get a grasp her on her new skills as a knight.

Crystal has been with the Tokyo Sector for about two years and as one of the oldest and most seasoned Correctors, has been again tasked to ensure the group are capable and ready to be the shining example to the rest of the world's Correctors. Every holiday, she gets a package filled with sweets from her mother overseas. Though she does miss her parents, she knows if she moved to London and joined their secret group of Correctors, it would be much harder to keep things a secret from those she cares for.

Character Sheet:

Name:
Kimura, Alyssa

Alias in the DgtWld:
Havok

Age:
26

Years With Tokyo Division:
3 Years

Personality:

  • +Cooperative: Alyssa doesn't mind having to help out others, often the first to offer assistance or sign up for an assignment. If you ask her, she'll more then likely agree to it.
  • -Flippant: Not one to hold her tongue or try and be tactful about it. If she has something to say as unnecessary as it might be you'll hear about it however it might not be in the nicest tone.
  • +Optimistic: Your basic glass is full kinda gal. She simply believes that everything will work out if you strive for it. She's the one casually making jokes, or seemingly acting nonchalant about everything as if she knows that everything's going to be aces up.
  • -Impatient: Impulsive almost, Alyssa dislikes things that drag on, if she can figure out the best option easily she doesn't understand why people are still arguing about it for the next five minutes. She'd rather just go ahead and get it done then they can argue semantics the rest of the day.
  • +Hardworking: While not the most responsible person, Alyssa still delivers. She hates the idea of failing, or letting someone else down, so at times will willingly go to extremes to finished what she was asked of as long as it keeps everyone else safe.

Background:

15 October 1996

Born to an Ex-United States Marine and a Japanese Surgeon in a small clinic within the prefecture of Osaka was a small blonde haired baby girl. Alyssa grew up in high demand household, yet the pressure didn’t seem to affect the small girl, in a sense she began to idolize her parents as superheroes. Both of their jobs, while high risked, required them to be extremely reliable and capable; whether it was saving a life or a completing a mission both of her parents succeeded rarely accepting failure as a viable option, the cost of doing so was too high. The small girl thrived within that mentality, pushing herself through pre-school and elementary school to be in the top of her class and in the top tiers of her club activities. Even after her mother retired from activity to stay home and have a hand in their daughters upbringing, the small girl’s view on life didn’t change firmly believing that those who strive to be the best and keep others from harm would be the happiest.

During her junior high school years, Alyssa would often be found berating the delinquent population of her year, more or less beating them upside the head with her philosophy on life. It wasn’t ill intended; she just thought they’d be happier that way, this overzealous nature of hers would get her into a certain amount of trouble with the school at times and ostracized by her fellow classmates, part of this was from jealously as the blonde half-breed continued to strive as the top of the school and in sports, lacrosse and volleyball respectively; bring home awards and trophies for her efforts aiming to gain the approval of her parents, showing them that she was just as capable. This continued on for the remainder of her junior high years rationalizing her lack of friends outside her sports clubs as necessary for a superhero’s path is often a solidary one speckled with visitors and companions.

2 March 2011

It was on the way home from her graduation ceremony that Alyssa was in her first and only car crash, a drunk driver had taken a curve too fast flying into the other lane as he over-corrected to avoid the guard rail crashing head long into her parent’s car. All she could remember was the brief scream of her mother as she tried to reach back and protect the girl, and the haunting sound of crunching metal and shattering glass. When she awoke later, which she would learn would be a few days; there was a small frail looking woman her blonde hair and pale blue eyes matching her mother’s looks. This woman, her grandmother she later knew, had flown in on the news of the accident. She told Alyssa what had happen during the brief time the girl had been unconscious, that her father had died on impact and her mother didn’t last the ride to the hospital.

She was lucky to be alive. She would hear those and words of condolences for the next few weeks as she absentmindedly went through the actions of her days, thanking the well-wishers that came by, acting her part at the funeral; her hollow eyes empty enough to make a hardened man shiver, afterwards she was told she’d be moving to the United States to be raised by her grandmother. Her father’s parents had been strict and disowned him for the dishonor of marrying a foreigner. It was the first time Alyssa would experience the pain of losing someone, of learning that heroes could die, that petty things could kill such huge people. During the few weeks it took to arrange her school transfers, packing, selling her childhood home, the girl never said a word. Her eyes still seemed lifeless as she tried to adjust to life without her parents, this new woman was foreign to her, an unknown, she had no idea if she was a villain, a civilian, or perhaps another hero to show her how to live.

21 August 2011

Alyssa stood on the edge of the school grounds, looking at the sprawling building of the urban high school nestled in the confines of Chicago, Illinois. A small smirk playing across her lips as she straightened her back and glasses, confidently marching onto the grounds towards the main office. It was a start of a new life, a new mission as her grandmother would call it. During the few months of summer she spent living in her grandmother’s condo, a small house shoved into a box. The cramped space didn’t suite Alyssa well at first, but the view of the city from the bay window in the living room was something she was immediately drawn to, the bright lights at night twinkling like stars to her. The girl’s quiet streak lasted for maybe the first five weeks or so before her grandmother decided enough was enough, and took to making the girl speak the first thing that popped into her mind every time she wanted to go somewhere, eat something, or even use something. This back and forth battle continued for the next two weeks with Alyssa stubbornly refusing, giving brief one word answers as replies to the woman’s pestering questions.

Eventually Alyssa’s impatient personality took over, having had enough of her constant nagging; a bit of a hypocrisy seeing she herself would constant push people to be better and do what was right as a child, she told the old woman what she thought of her, not caring to watching her tongue as some rather crass words crossed her lips. Her tirade was met by pearls of laughter and a bright smile from her grandmother as the woman patted her softly on the head, happy to see her granddaughter return to the happy zealous child she had received so many letters about. It was then that Alyssa had deemed her grandmother a superhero in her own right, one that fixes a person rather than saves them. It was also during her high school years at a rather rambunctious school in an even livelier city that she decided that’s what she wanted to do, was save people just like her parents.

17 July 2015

Shivering Alyssa stepped out of her new apartment, upon graduating high school she had applied and been accepted to Osaka Medical College, the same university her father had attended which meant that she was to move back to Japan. Her apartment over looked the park and castle of Osaka as well as near enough to the train station that she didn’t have to worry about buying a car or bike to make her way to way around the city. Hoping to follow her father’s footsteps as soon-to-be prominent surgeon with in the region Alyssa spent most of her first year studying and learning all she could once more claiming one of the tops spots not only within the university also within the country.

She would assume that this was what caused the GvN to contact her with a job offer; she was hesitant at first having only just recently discovered and toyed around with the DgtWld using it mostly to keep in contact with her grandmother and friends back in Chicago. But with the offer of both training and enough pay to cover the rest of her education expenses, as well as the childish notion in the back of her mind telling her that she could be a superhero Alyssa took the job not knowing just what she signed up for.

At first Alyssa used a female avatar during her training years with the Osaka branch of Correctors but was slightly coddled by the team,it was the first time they had accepted trainer's for a while, the only one that expected her to do her job regardless of her gender was another trainee like herself, he only stayed with the team for three years while Alyssa continued to stay for another year and hone her skills as a Corrector and as a medical student. During her last year at that branch Alyssa would experience death once more, a new trainee who took the job as serious as anyone else but a small error on her part left him open to an attack that she was meant to take. This death shook her worse than her parents, no matter how many people told her it wasn't her fault she still holds on the being personally responsible for it. She soon began practicing combat outside the DgtWld with her seniors, throwing herself into it until she could see the improvements in her movements within the missions and assignments they took on.

23 January 2022

Alyssa walked out of the government building collecting the data she had requested, having just completed her 3rd and final year with a residency program at Tokyo Medical University Hospital to continue her studies in Neurology, wanting to study more on the affects the Microchips and DgtWld had on the human brain, if there was a way to create a blockade in the nerves system to keep hackers from murdering the user. She had moved three years ago to the center of Tokyo renting a small condo in one of the towering skyscrapers around the city, a small reminisces of her grandmother’s lodgings, the old woman had died peacefully in her sleep two years ago causing Alyssa to take time off from work and school to go bury her grandmother and arrange for her belongings to be liquidated and distributed where the old woman wanted them to go, most of it now belongs to Alyssa including the condo she was currently renting out to a distant cousin.

Her skills and knowledge of the DgtWld grew alongside her studies for her profession, not wanting to give either up, as some would do. After all the GvN paid plenty enough that any other means of income were rather unneeded, but Alyssa still desired to save people inside and outside the cyber world, she could only be a super hero there for a little longer to say the least. However on joining the Tokyo team she switched up her appearance to a male avatar, not wanting to be coddled or sidelined because she was a woman. She was pleasantly surprised to run into the man she had trained alongside of back in Osaka, and that he was a meticulous as ever. When she’s not at the hospital completing her rounds or on a mission she spends her free time reading her text books at a coffee shop downtown.

Roleplayer Sheet:

Age: 20
Frequency Online: Daily, will be available to answer questions most days at most hours.

Responsibilities Offline: University classes, daily exercise, social relationships, a few IRL tabletops. I won't be able to make IC posts daily, but I'll still be able to interact via OOC or PM most days of the week.

Favorite tv show or books: Not much of a TV or Book guy- relationships and textbooks cover most of those- though I did watch some Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad to prevent myself from being ostracized by society. Most of my media viewing time is spent on youtube, and I do enjoy some thriller books from Dean Koontz and Lee Child.

Why do you like to write/RP: I find RPing, poetry, and creative writing in general to be a good stress reliever and an excellent source of brain stimulation. The ability to play out concepts that form up in my brain-regions is also a plus.

Character Sheet:

Name: Takara Akihiko
Alias in the DgtWld: Apex
Age:26
Average Appearance:

Corrector Appearance:

Weapon of Choice:
Precision Rifle. In combat Akihiko uses a high powered digital rifle with a 10 round magazine and carries 3 extra magazines. His weapon scope's magnification is adjustable, allowing him to be effective at medium to long range combat. His close range combat skills are limited to techniques he has learned while offline. Akihiko prefers to conduct combat frm afar and has a calm and methodical approach to combat. Akihiko's most recent upgrade allows him to create a digital hoverboard for him to use as a method of relocating himself. The hoverboard is capable of extending short digital 'fields' from its sides, increasing the overall width of the board to around 2-3 feet, allowing it to be used as a temporary/mobile source of cover.

Cell Phone:

Personality:
+Logical - Rational and very practical, Akihiko is sharp witted and pays a great amount of attention to detail- from body language to information. Akihiko excels at tasks that requires thinking and logic.
+Competent - Cool and collected, Akihiko handles stressful situations with ease, and is capable of performing- or figuring out how to perform- most tasks.
+Intelligent - Naturally intellectual- bordering on prodigious, Akihiko's mind is highly active. He is extremely methodical and calculating with most of the things he does.
+Responsible - As a combined result of his upbringing and past occupation, Akihiko is extremely efficient and is among the most responsible members of the Corrector team and often handles most of the team's logistics and planning.
-Militaristic - Akihiko is a very "By the Books" person and demands order and organization. Every mission needs a designated leader and sub leader, alongside a practical plan and contingency- all the way down to the amount of ammunition needed.
-Stiff - Bordering on cold and callous, Akihiko's methodical and organized nature leaves little room petty frivolities. He is a no-nonsense man and has no time shenanigans and immaturity.
(+\-) Protective - As one of the older members of the team, Akihiko is highly protective of his teammates and will occasionally break his norms in order to appease or protect them. Positively, this can be seen as him being soft hearted and granting leeway for mischief-making. Negatively, this can manifest in him willingly walking into traps for the sake of his team.

Time with Tokyo Sector:

3 Years, joined in 2019

Background:
The middle child of 3, Akihiko Takara is the second son of Lt. General Yoshiro Takara, commanding officer of Japan's Central Readiness Force. At a young age, Akihiko was immersed in the rigidity of military culture, and the ideas of pride and duty were instilled within him. Throughout his childhood, Akihiko was observed to be rather logical and learned extremely quickly, easily outpacing other children his age. As a child, Akihiko only saw his parents sporadically, as they were both busy with government related work. As a result, Akihiko and his younger brother spent most of their early lives under the care of their eldest brother. Developing a strong relationship with his siblings, Akihiko assumed the role of taking care of his younger brother as their eldest left for university.

In high school, Akihiko scored exceptionally high marks. He adapted well as newer technologies started appearing- the DgtWld and the widespread use of phones and MChips. These newer technologies, coupled with Akihiko's progressive attitude and logical nature actually made it easier for Akihiko to excel in his classes and studies and helped propel him to the top tiers of his class. Upon graduating high school, Akihiko recieved a scholarship and was enrolled in the National Defense Academy of Japan in Yokosuka. At NDA Akihiko studied information systems and computers, specializing in DgtWld Security and information protection. Akihiko was slated to join the Japanese Self-Defense Force's Military Intelligence Command before he was approached by the Gvn with a different purpose in mind.

The Gvn recruited Akihiko into a group known as "The Correctors". Allowing Akihiko to complete school alongside Corrector training, Akihiko was put through a specialized version of the JSDF's basic training. Here he learned firearms usage and combat tactics- for both offline and online purposes. For his first 3 years of service, Akihiko was part of the Corrector team in Osaka as a trainee. The majority of the Osaka team was like him- recruits and veterans gathered from military academies and backgrounds. The Osaka Team worked like a military/police unit, the only difference was that they were DgtWld operators as opposed to real-world operators. A top-tier anti-hacker team, the Osaka Team were one of the most highly regarded teams in Japan, with a high track record of completed missions. Fully completing both military and Corrector training at the age of 23, Akihiko was transferred to the Tokyo team as a support unit and potential trainer for newer recruits.

Now having spent 6 years as a Corrector, Akihiko is among the senior members of the Corrector team in Tokyo. With his saved up wealth and Government connections, Akihiko has purchased a the top floor of a small apartment building in the Shinjuku Ward. After several secretive renovations, Akihiko has converted the apartment to a small base of operations from which he handles various manners of activities- from surveillance to information gathering. He spends what little free time he has on the streets of Shinjuku, at coffee shops or bars.

Krauxis Who?

Roleplayer Sheet:

Age: 24

Frequency Online: Tons, unless I'm working, then usually a couple hours a day.

Responsibilities Offline: I travel around a lot for work, so unfortunately this may lead to some difficulties if I'm staying at a crap hotel with bad wifi, but having recently upgraded my laptop, I don't really think this will be a problem much anymore. I don't have a job coming up for a while anyway, and I'll keep everybody posted when I do. Even if I'm in the middle of sticksville, there's always some way to get on the internet, so if I need to get a post up, I'll find a way, even if I have to type one into a PS3 browser window or something.

Favorite tv show or books: Haven't watched a proper 'tv show' in several years, but my favourite anime is probably Fate/Zero, if I had to pick right now. As far as books, I recently finished Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson, and it might actually top my list. I might be biased just because it was my most recent book, though. I like the Song of Ice and Fire books, though I don't watch the show.

Why do you like to write/RP: I like to experiment. I like to make characters that push my brain in various ways, and to take part in plots that do the same. I'm pretty understated IRL and I wouldn't say that I have much of a personality, but I like to play characters who are full of the stuff and have fun existing in their headspace. Sorry if that sounds a bit raw, but I've just been thinking about it lately, and that's the conclusion I came to.

Character Sheet:

Name: Karasugawa Karako

Alias in the DgtWld: Cypher

Age: 23

Average Appearance:

Corrector Appearance:

Weapon of Choice: Katana (Unique style mixed with Tae Kwan Do.) She is fast and light on her feet, and enjoys moving around a lot during fights. She uses kicks to soften enemies up, then her katana to finish the job. She has upgraded her abilities a bit to be able to slash quite fast with her katana. In a style based mostly around mobility and speed, she moves around a lot, and strikes when an opponent reveals their weakness. However, while she excels in mobility, she is at constant risk due to her own lack of any sort of defense. Her fighting style demands that she always be up close to an opponent, but simultaneously that she not take any hits. It's always a risky gambit, and she relies heavily on support from her other teammates, even when it looks like she is going off alone.

Cell Phone:
If it's trendy enough, Karako is happy to upgrade phones frequently, but this is her current model.

Personality:
+Action-Oriented: If there's a task to be done, Karako wants to do it, and she wants to do it now. She has no trouble motivating herself to 'get up and go.'
+Trendy: Always having an ear to the ground, Karako feels the pulse of the city, new trends, gossip and rumors. She's always interested in any hot new tech or fashion.
+Devil's Advocate: Karako is able to think outside of the box and imagine scenarios from multiple perspectives. Although this makes her argumentative at times, it usually leads to new insight into a situation.
+Comrade: Though it takes a long time for her to warm up to you, once she considers you a friend, you're there for life. She does not handle betrayal very well.
-Cynical: Karako gets along well with individuals, but doesn't like 'society' as a whole. It's not as though she wants to pick a fight with everyone for no reason, but instead, she has the sort of mindset that makes her the first to laugh at a bad situation, or the first to get angry when things get unfair. She expects the worst, and it's hard to shock her when things turn south. But in return, she tends to complain a lot about nothing, and take a pessimistic outlook on life.
-Defeatist: While she is quick to start a task, and her self-confidence is usually sky-high, if she considers a task to be too difficult for her, Karako is even quicker to give up the ghost. She tends to lose all motivation after being defeated and needs at least some time to re-ignite her spark.

Background: "It's a trash name given to me by trash... but it's mine now. I'll clean up my own mess."

The Karasugawa family were a lower-middle-class clan of humble day labourers who owned a construction company on the outskirts of Kyoto. Their humility was their pride, and they named their first daughter in a manner befitting their worldview. 'Karako,' the 'empty girl.' For the first several years of her life, everything was going according to plan. she was a quiet child who liked to follow her parents' directions, learning about their trade and being indoctrinated into their lifestyle. Life was smooth sailing with little complication. But the rise of the new tech, new phones, MChips, the DgtWld, meant more demand for infrastructure, and an increasing demand for the Karasugawas' work. It had always been the case that after High School, Karako would be hired into the family business, but at age 15, her parents pulled her out before graduation to start work early.

Karako had other plans. Without any warning, she left home with little more than the clothes on her back and some stolen money to travel the country. She took a bus from Kyoto up to Tokyo proper, and made a small life for herself there for the next two years. She found ways of making money, whether legitimately or through criminal means, and found various places to stay. For two years she lived the life of an urban teen, both the light and dark side, and in doing so, her entire outlook on life was broadened and shifted greatly. But these things can't last forever. At age 17, she decided that enough was enough, and it was time to come back home to see her family. When she returned, her parents were initially happy to see her, though that didn't last long. The quiet girl they had known was gone, and in her place stood a wild beast. She had her own money and her own life, and 'following orders' seemed incredibly low on her list of priorities. Her parents had a phone for work reasons and because it had become absolutely necessary, but Karako was totally into the new digital culture and the DgtWld - something that her parents had declared to be morally corrupt.

For three years they lived an uneasy peace, with Karako's parents trying to guilt her into becoming the girl they wanted her to be, and Karako herself refusing sharply at every turn. She may as well have been spitting fire and brimstone. On her 20th birthday, her father decided that they had suffered enough abuse from this sharp-tongued and strong-willed girl. He publically denounced and disowned her, kicking her out of the house. He declared her morally bankrupt, and empty like her name, and that he would not stand for her criminal activities. Karako merely shrugged and left, deciding to move back to Tokyo. On her way, she received the call from the Gvn. She had been recruited into the ranks of the Correctors, which she accepted happily. Her prior criminal acts were to be pardoned (and limited in the future,) and she was going to be monitored, but she would still be able to hang around her delinquent friends (a sticking point she argued heavily.)

Her new job came with new money, and she was able to rent an apartment in downtown Shibuya through her old connections. It was a good location for her, because so many potential hackers or other criminals were young people searching for attention. Her hand was always on the beating heart of youth culture. After completing training she was assigned on-call to the current group of Tokyo-based Correctors, and has been with them for four whole years and counting. Content with her new life, she spends most of her free time wandering the city, hanging out with her friends, or training in Tae Kwan Do, which she had learned during her previous stay for self-defense. She bought herself a wooden sword (though she keeps it wrapped when she leaves the house to avoid attracting too much attention,) and most people to see her walking around might think she was the daughter of some Yakuza bigwig, but that works just fine for her. Nobody screws around with her.

Character Sheet:

Name:
Hajsafi, Maya

Alias in the DgtWld:
Atomik

Age:
24

Personality:

  • +Intelligent: Given the amount of time Maya has spent in the DgtWld prior to being a connector, he is very well versed in how it works and any exploits that might be available.
  • -Unmotivated: As such, Maya is adverse to doing any kind of work, so he prefers to do as little as possible. If anyone is going to do a job, Maya is more than happy to let them do it for him.
  • +Defender: Given the way he has been treated in his life, watching or hearing someone being ostracized for no good reasons is a sore spot for Maya and will inspire him to act. If anyone is being ignored or bullied, Maya will step in immediately on their behalf to fight for them.
  • -Naive: Given his lack of social interactions in the real world, sarcasm is something of a foreign concept to Maya. So is deceit. If something sounds plausible, Maya will believe it, and combining that with his need to defended the "downtrodden" can get him in a lot of trouble.
  • +Upbeat: In contrast to his real life mannerisms, Maya actually feels so at home in DgtWld that he sheds the introverted shell that he has cultivated offline and becomes completely relaxed and optimistic, more in tune with his current avatar.
  • +Loyal: Once he gets to know someone, Maya will back them wholeheartedly into whatever situation they may face, as long as it doesn't interfere with his previous tenets of not picking on the "weak gazelle" so to speak, or if he can find someone to do the actual work aspect of whatever needs to be done to follow.

Time With Tokyo Sector: Joined as a trainee Corrector in 2018, been in Tokyo since the start of his career.

Background:
Maya is the only son of an Iranian immigrant father and a Japanese mother. He was born and raised in Niigata, while both his parents worked for a telecommunications company. His father was an electrician who moved post-Revolution and worked his way up the ladder of the union while maintaining a strict paternal structure in the home that when combined with his mother's cold passive attitude meant a very tough and rigid childhood for Maya. School wasn't much better. Lacking the immigrant populations of Tokyo and Nagoya, Maya's half-Iranian heritage made him stand out among his peers and he was a ripe target for bullying.

This constant belittlement in all aspects of life made Maya very timid and quick to withdraw in the growing online world at a young age. He refused to take out his frustrations on other people though, even when putting bullets into brains when playing popular online games. Instead he let himself get lost in whatever he was doing online at the time, music and visuals carrying him away from Mehdi's fiery anger over his slightly imperfect grades, and Ayame's indignant stare at his few successes. Even in school, when Ono Kenji slammed him against the fence every day for a month straight after accidentally scuffing his shoe, that anger and hatred washed away while Maya was lost in the online world.

When the DgtWld system was first gaining steam in Japan and the U.S., Maya was quick to hop onto the phenomenon. He saved for a few months to get one of the first MChips implanted and took to the virtual reality like a monkey to a hot spring. At first it was just a few secluded trips to his own private island to get away from it all and listen to music, but he started spending more and more time in the DgtWld. He was so enthralled by the potential this technology had, of being able to leave the physical plane behind and transport yourself anywhere you wanted your music to take you that he dedicated his studies towards making sure he could be able to contribute to such a beautiful achievement of modern science. This newfound dedication seemed to please his parents as well, so they let Maya continue on this course. Of course they didn't know Maya would do so well that he would be drafted to the Correctors squad. Not even Maya believed it at first, but once he got confirmation, he was thrilled to be able to have a more in depth role in protecting the world...as long as it didn't interfere with his time in virtual Antigua.

Given the lack of a base in his hometown, Maya was assigned to the Tokyo unit, able to leave Niigata for the first time. However upon arrival, he was subjected to the same kind of harassment he thought he had escaped a while ago, and the first avatar he was presented with prior to gaining the access to creating his own was that of a teenage girl. It was a big laugh among the senior connectors but on his first few trips into the DgtWld in this avatar, Maya wasn't getting stared at. He wasn't getting called a terrorist. He felt...normal. And it felt good. It felt liberating. So liberating that he kept the avatar even after getting clearance to change, only tweaking certain aspects to better fit the weaponry that he decided to outfit Atomik with when she first came into being. Besides, if no one was supposed to know about his role, it made sense to Maya for his avatar to be as far opposite from his true identity as possible. Despite the personal growth that has come with his time as a Corrector, Maya is still seen as a social outcast in the real world. He is known to his neighbors in the small Aoyama District flat for being a shut-off student training for his certification as a network administrator and technician, when in reality, he's just waiting for the next opportunity to get back into the DgtWld and make what he sees to be a bigger impact.

Roleplayer Sheet: Age: 15 Frequency Online: Nearly Everyday Responsibilities Offline: School, Working Out, doing chores, nothing that will dig into my time with the RP Favorite tv show or books: Atm, Sons of Anarchy and Game of Thrones (I'm reading GoT before I watch it) Why do you like to write/RP: I like to create stories. I like to make a character that has a personality I create and to see how a story I create pans out. I like to read other creations and improve upon my own and every once in a while, participate in a kickass rp. Character Sheet: Name: Isao Whitehead Alias in the DgtWld: Deddoai (Dead-Eye) Age: 24 Average Appearance: Corrector Appearance: Weapon of Choice: A .357 six shot revolver decorated ornate flames and skulls. It uses .357 magnum rounds and he carries all ammo in bandoliers on his person. He usually has around 50 bullets on him and when he runs out he has to resort to using his fists. The weapon is slow firing unless he fans it (repeatedly slamming down the hammer while firing to speed up the rate of fire) and he could easily be out gunned by modern weaponry. It's a short range weapon, meant for relatively close encounters. It packs a punch though, and when used efficiently, can be extremely lethal. Cell Phone Personality: +Born to be wild- Isao loves going wild, whether that be on the road or on the battlefield, sometimes he turns into an absolute animal. (Enables Ghost Rider form if GM allows it.) +Friendly- Isao is a pretty friendly guy, it's hard not to get along with him. -Brutal- Sometimes Isao's wild side can turn dark, and in the heat of battle, he can be merciless. +Thrill-Seeker- Isao is an adrenaline junkie, if his friends jump off a bridge, he might just be crazy enough to do it as well. -Loose Canon- Isao doesn't always think before he acts. +Loyal- Isao is as loyal as anyone can be to those he cares about. Background: Isao Whitehead was born on August 17th, 1998 to Ko Matsumura and Hunter Whitehead. He was born in Tokyo, Japan. From an early age, Isao's father played western Music in his home, especially Rock and Blues. His father taught him about the history of these genres, feeding Isao curiosity for this wonderful sounding music. Motorcycles and westerns were a big part of his childhood as well. He loved to watch Clint Eastwood and John Wayne with his father. As he got older, Isao's interests in motorcycles intensified, he learned how they work, what models there were, their history and he found a comic book series that was based around an Anti-Hero riding a motorcycle. Ghost Rider. He was fascinated by the total badassery of this hero that it affected some decisions later in life. His mother was less thrilled at this wave of western culture upon her child. She attempted to teach him about their samurai origins, but he wasn't nearly as interested. Eventually she just stopped trying. The older he got the more he adopted his father's interests. He and his father would go into the mountains to camp for days at a time. In high school, Isao was incredibly good at Science and Zoology. Part of this was due to the fact that his father would give him lessons when they ventured into the mountains. Isao was popular in high school, his friendly personality made him fun to be around. When he was 16, his father took him to America. He was amazed by the different customs and ways of life there, what America lacked in technology, they made up for in spirit and love for their country. Not to mention it was the home of the Harley Davidson motorcycle. He graduated high school in May, 2015. He went on a road trip with his best friend, Jurou, around the country. He entered college in march of 2016. It was around this time that the DgtWld became huge. Isao could understand the appeal but he saw what happened to people who relied on the internet too much and he was determined to stay in touch with reality. That's why he chose to major in biology, specifically a career path that would place him in the mountains. In 2017, Isao's father got him a Harley-Davidson Sportster for his 19th birthday. It was the best gift he had ever gotten. It came with a link to the DgtWld and a radio. He disabled the link to the Dgtwld first thing, but upgraded the radio to surround sound. Jurou was there every step of the way with him, except he was training to be an officer in the military. Isao was contacted by a mysterious caller in 2018. The caller explained that Isao has been chosen for a special secret program to help protect Japan from hackers. The caller would not disclose why, only that refusal is not an option. So for the next 2 years of college, Isao worked as a corrector that goes by the alias Deddoai. He chose his appearance based on his favorite comic book hero. Sometimes. He was trained for 2 years by someone called Bosu. Bosu said his training was complete a couple weeks before graduation. Both Isao and Jurou graduated in 2020. Jurou was sent to a military base on the coast and Isao got a job with a Federal agency that operates in the mountains an hour from Tokyo. So he moved back home, much to his parents' delight. Isao has been working as a biologist for two years and a corrector for four. He's had a steady relationship with his family and friends as well a doing good in his job. Everything is going well. Well, except for the fact that he can't seem to find a girlfriend. Maybe it's due to his 'weird' affiliation with western culture and the outdoors and that he's a secret anti hacker that poses as a sorta undead hell biker for the government. Nah, he just needs to find the right girl.
