Hey guys.

So, while the IC is being written, I figured I'd post a bit of a bullet point summary of what's happened in the story so far. Hopefully I've remembered everything. :p

- Varya sets out to conquer the eastern continent of El. They send a vast armada of arks across the eastern sea on an invasion campaign. Aboard the arks are thousands of Varyan soldiers as well as several inquisitors. It is the largest army ever assembled by Lord Varya.

- Six months into the journey, the grand Varyan Armada sends a lone transmission back to the motherland, informing church and military leaders waiting back home of their arrival on the Elurian mainland. It is believed that more transmissions were sent, but the content of these messages is not shared with the public or the rest of the military and clergy.

- Mysteriously, the Varyan Church assimilates the Regular Army into its fold. The two separate branches have historically acted independently of each other, but no longer. The head priests of the Church now control the military, which does not sit easy with members of the regular army.

- Two weeks after the transmission from El reaches Varya, a class of priests graduates from the Red Seminary and are ordained as Varyan inquisitors. Not three days after their graduation, they are given orders by the Church to embark towards El on a missionary expedition to attempt to convert the inhabitants of El to the Varyan Faith. The newly ordained inquisitors are granted use of two newly manufactured Arks, the Fafnir and the Tigress, to make the treacherous journey across the ever shifting ice fields. They will also be accompanied by a company of soldiers, sailors, and support personnel. Strangely, one of the graduating priests, Father Dara, the inquisitor with the rawest ethereal power of the class, is not chosen for the mission.

- Commander Zoya Kiriyev, a retired veteran of the Lanostran War, is called back into duty in order to lead the inquisitor's military support. An old subordinate of hers, Deputy Commander Lev Dragonov, is also chosen for the mission. She must leave her husband and young son behind, a fact that does not sit easy with her.

- The day after the two arks are blessed by a Varyan priest in a divine ceremony, a large shipment of Omestri slaves is found to have been included in the Fafnir's manifest. The slaves, of which there are about fifty, have been "gifted" to the expedition by a Varyan nobleman for ethereal extraction purposes. The inquisitors are called to the cargo hold and are asked by DC Dragonov how to deal with this sudden gift.

(At this point, I kind of need a reminder of how your character reacted to this development with the slaves. I remember that Motya was especially against their mistreatment, but nothing more than that. I really need to know your characters' response to this, as it kind of ties into the new opening post.)

That's about it, I think. If I forgot anything, let me know guys.

Kassandra was not in attendance for the meeting, Lovejoy, as she received a parcel from Dara containing a letter (which I don't have typed up anywhere... :( ) and a small black sphere(? I think? I'm trying hard to remember precisely what the item was - it was some kind of onyx thing) and then she left for the Basilica to send him a reply. We talked about insignias and seals that each Inquisitor uses and I'll have to figure out what Kassandra's was again because I forgot. Anyway! She ran into Motya and he told her what the presentation was about. She wasn't extremely passionate, but she was somber - merely out of sympathy to her comrade. In all honesty, she has no true opinion on it. Essentially, Kassandra is what everybody sees Inquisitors to be - an emotionless law enforcer in service of the church; however, she believes herself more of a warrior than an officer of the law, so she doesn't do much in the way of "law enforcement." Huff... off-topic - her attitude was only slightly affected by it; she wouldn't truly do anything too rash, as she knows that they needed those slaves to keep the ships powered.

Also! Great summary.

EDIT: I think that the message from Dara to Kass said something about being careful or something?

If I remember correctly, Max was fairly nonplussed about it. He was aware that slaves were often used as a source of power, but for the sake of Motya's temper, refrained from saying directly, hinting at Lt. Dragonov that the ones that couldn't be put to work were free to be harvested for their Ether.

Prior to boarding the Tigress he had visited his old neighbourhood and left hurriedly after the memories of his dead father flooded back to haunt him.

Hiya guys, I am sorry that I haven't been around much the last few weeks. My latest is that my Wife and I are expecting our first born any day now!!! So the chances of me being around for the next few weeks. I don't want to drop out of this so I hope to keep up with things but I will not be able to post. If someone wants to pilot Mal I am more than happy for him to be used and abused.

Congratulations Orion :D! You must be such a proud dad.

Have a fun family bonding session and welcome to the world, Orion's child!

Regarding the slaves, Alina thought it was unpleasant but knew it was necessary. The thought of using slaves would have bothered her, but for the sake of the mission she'd shrug it off and not make a big deal out if. The success of their mission is of utmost importance.

First and foremost Congrats Orion! Huge deal becoming a Father and all, enjoy as much of it as you possibly can.

Secondly, thanks to Night...

On a third note... Motya was infuriated by the slave shipment and in fact had to leave the ship in order not to do something rash. On his way out he made way to deliver a part of their cage to a courier in order for it to be mailed to the slave house master with a ultimatum detailing a visit when and if Motya returns from El. It was here he ran into Kas and at that point scout and I were working on a collab that brought the pair back to the Ark. Motya also knowing he could not order the complete release of the slaves w/o causing an incident ordered that at least the children be placed under his care and billeted in the same berthing wing that Motya and his seconded squad, lead by Romachek, are living in.

Cool. Does anyone remember the number of slaves in the cargo? I kind of forgot, so I'm going with 50 at the moment.
