Consider this my re-roll request.
Consider this my re-roll request.Population Density (population: 18,000,000) -Adequately Populated; Some manpower for economic and military purposes, and social infrastructure is only under some pressure. Educational costs and civic projects are affordable. Industrialization -Semi-Industrialized: An established industrial complex is present in the nation. Domestic Technology -Modernizing: The industrial infrastructure is in the process of improvement, and this is a teething process. But the economy is seeing increased activity because of this investment. New technologies are becoming domestically available. However, there is a degree of dependence on imports, including in terms of the expertise to modernize the economy. Educational Institutions -Comprehensive Public Primary Schools Domestic Political Stability -Widespread Insurgencies Common Mineral Deposits -Large deposits of iron, chromium, copper and the like. Valuable Mineral Deposits -Trace deposits of rare earth metals, and platinum. Petroleum Wells -Vast Petroleum resources, that are easily exploitable. Fissible Material Deposits -None Military Recruitment -Conscription Based for National Service Military Reliability -Military Plays Politics Military Size -Tiny, relative to population, but easier to equip, train, and outfit. Military Technology -Obsolete Military Training and Morale -Poor at fighting but good at following orders; Low Morale Military Leadership -Corrupt and Incompetent; All officers are ultimately friends of Current Leadership Military Popularity -Unpopular Secret Services -Incompetent Secret Service; Full of double agents of other nations
I'll take a reroll. Hoping that a new set of stats will spark an interesting concept to work from.Population Density (Pop: 430,000,000) -Very Densely Populated; Overpopulation is a rampant problem causing a large degree of pollution and other consequences of having too many people and not enough public resources to properly house, feed, educate and employ them all. Industrialization -Widespread: Strong industrialization across the nation. Domestic Technology -Modern: Modern technology means space age materials, plastic, aluminum, good quality steel and the production methods to make it an efficient process. Educational Institutions -Comprehensive Public Primary and Secondary Schools, Mixed Private/Public Universities, with a free State-Run University System for students that show aptitude Domestic Political Stability -Regional Protests Common Mineral Deposits -Large deposits of iron, chromium, copper and the like. Valuable Mineral Deposits -Trace deposits of rare earth metals, and platinum. Petroleum Wells -Moderate Petroleum finds, that are easily exploitable. Fissible Material Deposits -Some fissible material reserves Military Recruitment -Conscription Based for National Service Military Reliability -Racially Homogenous Military Size -Massive, relative to population - is a drain on the economy and re-equiping and supplying is a massive scale effort. Military Technology -Rapid Modernization Military Training and Morale -Poorly Trained; Low Morale Military Leadership -Competent; Rose to their positions through a Military Academy Military Popularity -Unpopular Secret Services -Competent Secret Service; Invested heavily in local politics, such as replacing your current leader with someone they favor
Looks like those stats make my nation the roleplay's largest, by almost a hundred million. What are the different ideologies being pressed by the current superpowers? Looks like Resia is a Blue Tory British Empire, Sturvia is Tsarist Russia and Artesia has some similarity to the United States. The flags of both fascism and communism are up grabs. I'm leaning towards fascism, since Sturvia has some (post) communist elements.I'm actually trying to tend away from the USA but it's difficult to be different from those two and still be a superpower.
<Snipped quote by The Nexerus> I'm actually trying to tend away from the USA but it's difficult to be different from those two and still be a superpower.I'd try tending towards libertarianism. That would be economically and politically distinguishable from the other three powers, and also leave Artesia highly distinct as the only non-authoritarian superpower.
Yes, provided the Resian Monarchy is still recognized as the "head of state". If you stick with the South Africa style nation, then yeah, dominion status would be good and we would be on excellent terms. How would you feel about our states' relations being in a bit more of a flux? The history I had written detailed a low-level armed insurgency capitalizing on Resian's (presumed) preoccupation with the Great War, though the current regime would be seeking reconciliation and perhaps said dominion status. Also, you previously referred to the hereditary military being a particular shoe-in? Can you expand on how that's the case? You mentioned 'Princely States'?
So are you currently independent, or is the insurgency continuing from where it began in the war? Are you still going with the settler minority controls natives thing?I was thinking they'd either be independent or, as you suggested, beholden to Resia by way of dominion status. I'm not entirely certain of which I prefer or the means by which we reached that conclusion, even if I'd already written a few paragraphs regarding some level of armed conflict (obviously not final). I was considering, hypothetically, some amount of outside interference in colonial affairs, such as enemy states' spies goading agitated locals and settlers into this push for autonomy/independence. All in all, I'd prefer a state to play a state that's on good terms with Resia, or at least making inroads towards reconciliation with them post-revolution. A big part of this, I think, is my population. I have 72 million people, of which approximately 10-15 million are Resian descended or 'old world' descended settlers. This is a relatively large amount of people, and I'd wager that agitation towards some degree of self-determination and a formative national (or at least regional) identity would not at all be unlikely.
