Technopaths are individuals who retain the power to have control over technology. They can hack into nearly anything and are basically the best programmers in the world. My character, Ruby:
Powers: Technopathy - There is a reason why Ruby prefers technology over people. That reason is probably because she's a self-certified queen of technology. Anything that is controlled by electricity (clockwork machines are a nightmare to her), can basically be directly influenced or even rewired to suit whatever demands she has; and those demands can number in the thousands. Similarly, computer programs are like her native tongue. She can bend them to her will, change them at will and make sure that they don't go against said will. All in all, she could give most large corporations nightmares with what information she could access. For that reason, she keeps her head very very low and makes sure that they don't have a particularly big reason to separate her efficient mind from her rather fine body. We're not just talking about willing her microwave to fight on, boldly into the fray. What we're talking about is control of machines that could make her one of the most infamous Metas on this side of the solar system. She could break governments, bend corporations to their knees in a holy crusade against capitalism or even make herself rich beyond counting. And what does she chose to do? Live in an apartment and attempt to make a super-computer. Duh! A supercomputer would not only be damn handy but with her skills, she could break into the most safest of system-protection. It just needs a long line of criminal activities to make it a reality. Every path has its hurdles, after all! More seriously, unlike other most Metas; Ruby's power can equally hinder her as much as it helps her. When she was a little younger, she had little to no control over her abilities and this resulted in some untimely deaths. Initially, she was too weak for her affect to have any control - occasionally, a toaster would short-circuit. However, as she got a little older and more powerful, it adapted into something that terrified her. Despite the power to do good she has, if has done a lot more evil. Not only did it affect others around her but it affected her as well. Heading out out to her Grandmother's (in the country) became virtually impossible as she would almost repeatedly fall in and out of consciousness due to the lack of electrics. She really had no idea what it was, but her body needed to be surrounded by the stuff otherwise it simply couldn't handle the gifts she has been burdened with. One of the main reasons why Ruby hasn't made herself publicly known is the threat to her from Metas who can temporarily prohibit abilities. Although she has only worked in theories and hunches, she has reckoned that if she is separated from her powers for at least a day or two then it could cause some serious damage to her. However, that's just something she has to live with and more than likely one of the reasons why she's a merc. The hots wouldn't purposely kill you if you explained what would happen but the mercs would chew her up and spit her out. For that reason, although pretty powerful, she's a useful Meta but not an overly strong one. She would more than likely lose in a fight and her only real option is running. Running away from things is something she's always done and more than likely, she'll continue to do so.

Ah, well since there's actually a person's consciousness in my characters AI chip. I'm not sure that would work, but you're the GM. On a side note, which edit of my guy are you willing to accept? Or are my power levels still junky?

According to everything I seen where a person's consciousness is uploaded to a robot or the Internet that consciousness becomes computer programming. It is the most advanced A.I. in the world but it is still computer programming at it's core which is vulnerable to technopaths, less so than non-A.I. computers. Technopaths can: make your character crash as in infect with viruses, initiate or create system errors, drain your character's power. hack or manipulate the various programs running the body or your character's consciousness break computer code which could destroy your character's consciousness if the robot body were to break could fix it to brand new status insert brand new programming which could be of benefit or detriment take control As an A.I. your character could fight back against the above. The only instance I can think of where your character's consciousness is not at the whim of a technopath is if your character's organic brain was in control of the robot body, even then the robot body is still at the whim of the technopath. The GM could make a rule that your character's consciousness being inside the A.I. chip made it immune to technopaths but the robot body would still be at the whim of the technopath. Which would give your character more ability to fight back against losing control of the robot body.

That works, Revan! They'll still have to watch out though because he seems quite combat-ready so it would be pretty risky trying to get close to him!

Well, I'm pretty new here, so forgive me for butting in, but I personally imagine that a technopath trying to control your character would be basically the same as a psion trying to control a human character. Presumably Tribuo can control his own coding similarly to how a person can control their own thoughts and actions, and so could attempt to resist attempts to control or alter it in the same way a human might try to resist mind control, through willpower or the like, with the effectiveness depending on the strength of the technopath and how much effort they put into the power/subtlety of their control.

Sound logic, i'm not going to argue. I was just hoping I could pull something along the lines of. "I'm not just a machine!" etc.

Thank you, that's also a great angle to take this at.
So, you asked me to add some strengths since I made so many weaknesses, and I did. But I separated them into 2 edits, I was curious which one you'll accept or If I still need to tweak his power levels?

Yes! I guess I'll pass a rule that with a lot of concentration, we can gain access to his component parts but his AI core is non-accessible.

I'll take whatever one you want because both look good to me! Accepted! Also guys, could any accepted characters be posted into the character tab and if I have missed out on a character, could you guys remind me!

I only skimmed the whole "technopath vs AI" thing, but if the AI was using quantom mechanics instead of binary then you'd have to very clearly define what a technopath can do. From the sound of the word, they can take control of things running on a binary system, not a quantom one. But then now your getting into theoretical science so yeah, things get murky. Also whoever is making an AI, Light is going to be your worst enemy, more so than the tecnopath. Sure even fi shes your friend she'll prob be your wort enemy. Reality shift makes technology not work around her for very long, so you can't touch her without massive negative side effects xD. Unless the tech can handle being cartoony and running on cartoon physics (the negative ones), then maybe you'd be fine.

That might work for a different character of mine, who I would otherwise have made the owner of a cafe. I'm toying around with whether or not I'll add him in now, or wait to see if Samuel dies off or something first.

Super sense of smell. (I've done this, it's pretty fun) Control squirrels. Power over hair. (Also done this, also fun) Can tell when people are looking at them. Spontaneous coordinated dance numbers. (... Actually, I kinda want to do that now...) Immunity to stubbed toes. Appearance and physical characteristics of a walrus and/or platypus. Spits glue. Laser vision.

Hey, guys, those of us from the Past Arcs need to discuss what happened to our characters in the interim. Basically, here are my plans for my characters: - Cedric Wessex leads the International Organization of Heroes, and is Adam's superior. - Constantine Ramiel King dies in the timeskip while trying to infiltrate a North Korean Airbase. - Isabella Lancaster becomes part of the Underground Movement. - Gary Stuart, Ghost, and Plantmaster go from strength to strength, and StuCorp becomes a world giant. - William Plantagenet retires, and Healing Spore is replaced by someone with near-identical powers.

I notice a bunch of people don't have their power rankings yet, so let me give you some help there. Take these with a grain of salt, though, because these are just my opinion. @Gentlemanvaultboy, I'd give owl man around C. @Pie Flavor, I'd say B at least, just because spatial manipulation. Spatial manipulation is pretty good. @Subject Zero, I'd give Legion around C as well. Also, Pole dancing? @Marx, I'd say Harper would be generally High B-A based on the amount of powers he has. Bo also sounds kinda like they'd be S rank or something based on potential, but I don't know. @Alternax, I'd say B because he gets near the speed of sound, can lift large cars easily and his plasma cannon is probably pretty strong, but he's probably not strong enough to blow up an entire city block Hope it helped.

Hey guys! As you might notice, Bee has posted the first post! I didn't want to do the first post because I have an event planned but that won't happen until everyone has introduced their characters. Speaking of which, don't be afraid to ask here if anyone wants to interact with your character because plenty of people will want to! Happy hunting, folks!

Ah, for past actions... Light - Has become the face for heroic metas due to Constantine's involvement in trying to portrey some pro meta propoganda. Light enjoys the attention, but also finds it annoying that she has to do public speeches on occasion. Also shes annoyed she can't do some of the thigns she used to. The Government also backs Light, or some parts do, aiding to her public image. Not to mention she looks adorable on posters and the like. And the obligatory power increase, most notably Reality Shift not taking as long to work. And I can't seem to find her old CS. Should I make a new one then?
