It is Far into the Future. On the Day the Earth Was Meant To End, Angels came to Give their Ultimate Deliverance. The very same day, Demons rose from their abyss, took on a human form, and convinced the world that this was wrong. That the angels were anything but what they said they were, that they were the heartless demons. Mankind listened. And so when the Angels descended, they were attacked. The weapons the demons had given them proved effective, and not an angel went uncaptured. All were turned over to the state to see that 'rightful justice' was done, that these 'demons' could be subdued in a....humane way. On the surface, they were let free to go back to their homeland. Under the counter, they had been transferred to a research facility to be... unmade. Spiritual entities were brainwashed, turned into helpless and fragile creatures, all by the people they were meant to save. Their prayers were not heard, and like a candle, they burned out. In place of the candle was a computer screen lighting up. They were turned into puppets, genetically altered cyborgs to be sold and marketed as 'exact replicas' of the angels that had attacked. The demons reign solidified, and society would not see miracles done with religion or belief, but by science. Twenty years later, the angels are obsolete. No longer as fashionable to have on your hip as a servant and thus discarded into random trashbins throughout the world. The newer, sleeker, completely robotic Mechangels are all the rage. Demons have taken over entirely, uniting the entire world under one government and one leader. However.
