"Yeah, now that you opened it I'll take off my gloves and hat." Lucas does this and after he begins to tell his story to the two obvious blind people. "I came here when I was six, I had no memory of parents or a family, hell I didn't even know how I got here." he sits down in a chair."I have always been a bit of an oddball here because of the fact that people like you scare me. I mean people who aren't animalistic aren't real mutants they are just people who have super natural abilities." He puts his spoon into the peanut butter."My feature if you can't smell are bear like. I've got bear paws and ears. That's why I wear the hat,although judging by how you've guessed that I am eating peanut butter, because I know you blind people have great sense of smell and hearing ,you might have put two and two together that Bears and a few other animals love peanut butter." Lucas pulls out the spoon and puts it in his mouth taking the peanut butter off of it with glee. "Now why am I scared of 'normal' people like you guys well it's almost natural to me to be afraid of you guys."

Cammy watched as Xander strutted into the room, all swagger and confidence. She hadn't met this guy yet and wished she hadn't been sitting down when they did meet. He was intimidatingly tall and those eyes were...Wow. She stayed quiet as the conversation played out between Terraline and the boy she found out to be her brother. Cammy was pretty disturbed by how calm he was when he spoke about his parents murder as though that type of thing happened all the time. As though echoing Cammy's thoughts, Terry questioned her brother on his oddly calm nature. The response only made Cammy dislike him even more. And then Xander informed Terraline that someone named Josie was in the next room. They had another new girl? Damn it! Cammy mentally chastised herself again for taking that nap and missing so much. Terraline almost started to freak out at the news of this Josie's presence. When Xander turned to Cammy and asked her name, she gave him only a slightly disgusted look before turning to Terraline and with her most calming voice said "Calm down. You're safe here. Who's this Josie and why does she have you so upset?"

"And why do you think you are the unluckiest person? Personally, I wish I could have wings and maybe whatever else comes with it, because then I could escape from reality. By flying, you are entering another world. I have read many novels, but reality never measures up." Ris took a short breath after this long speech for him. He had not spoken to a single person as long as this. He was actually getting into the conversation. "I hurt people. I don't mean to, but just this week, I touched a strip of metal unknowingly and...caused a young girl, maybe your age, to be taken to the infirmary." The image that was brought up by this made his knees start to shake as he thought of his own personal curse. "I have to watch my every step, never wear shoes, not even look at a television. I don't even know the latest news until it is printed!" He put some more emphasis at the end to explain his meeting. He bent his knees and began to brush the dirt with his hand, dust moving into the air. Noting that no metal was visibly there, he took seat there and looked up at Ryuu. "That is why I envy you."

Nick began listening as the bear boy took off his hat and gloves, but Nick didn't reveal that he already knew what was under them. First impressions count for a lot, after all, and ignoring their presence gave off a bad one, without adding the fact that he can see through walls and stuff. He didn't really want to be called a creepy guy, but if they knew, he wouldn't blame them for thinking that. As Nick listened to the bear-boy's speech, he poured milk onto his cornflakes, and then spread some sugar onto it. Still attentive, he started taking spoonfuls of cornflakes while listening to the boy's story. Nick began to think. The bear boy had mentioned some stuff that made think about people like Nick. And Pam, the bear boy, and the girl eating bacon. He'd only arrived at Riverwood 2 days ago, but he'd met a lot of different people of different stages of life, as well as some 'weird' stuff he'd never known. When Nick awakened his 'power', he thought that it was a good thing. It was useful, at the very least, to navigate his life without trouble. But on arriving at the academy, he met more people who were 'different'. It was clear that their new 'powers' were a gift to some, and to others like the bear boy, they were a curse. Nick kind of knew what bear boy went through, though. Nick's powers, while useful, were strange nonetheless, and if anythinng, people talked to him a little less when he had them. He noticed that, in the brief period he'd had them. He noticed that people feared strange things. It must've been a lot worse for people with... physical manifestations, such as the bear handed boy who'd been talking to Nick and Pam. Nick ate another spoonful of cornflakes as the bear boy finished. He crunched thoughtfully in the silence that followed, thinking of what to say. "You know, I get where you're coming from." Nick said tentatively. "You've probably heard it a lot, and I probably don't really know where you're coming from, but I think I get it a little bit." Yes, he did understand. One of the things he'd taken for granted when he had his sight was companionship. He thought that his life would always be the same, and when the accident happened, suddenly things weren't. "The isolation was bad, and the silence almost killed me." Nick said contemplatively. "But hey, I'm not afraid of me. And there are good people here." That statement was aimed at Pam, whether she noticed or not. She was his first friend in Riverwood so far, and he was glad to have her around. He liked friends, he liked companionship. One thing that people take for granted was the light and the noise. With the light gone, the noise stopped, and Nick's world had been painfully empty. Maybe he would find something to fill the gaps here in Riverwood, one step at a time. "With that in mind, let's be friends!" Nick said suddenly, grinning. "My name's Nick. What's yours?"

"The name is Lucas Ursaine. And your the first non animalistic friend I've got besides maybe Levi or that shadow guy. Man I wish my memory was better." Lucas continues to eat the peanut butter. "So now that you know my story what's your's?" He looks at Nick knowing full well that he'll probably forget it in a week, but it would be nice to know someone else's story, and although he is starting to feel uncomfortable he is warming up to sitting down and talking an unusual occurrence if you knew Lucas at all.

"I don't consider myself the unluckiest either. I mean, flight is a great thing to have," Ryuu told Ris. "It's just that I have other abilities besides just flight. I have dragon talons and dragon flames. Both of which are actually pretty cool. But they come with animal instincts I'm not always able to control. I'm no person to envy. Personally I think,you should envy the people who don't have any abilities at all. They doing have any downsides at all."

"That may be true. The people with no abilities may find it safer, but if you were in a crowd, you would be unable to point to a single individual. Our abilities is what sets us apart. It is what makes us who we are. Every day, we must deal with our own problems while the rest of them may have to deal with the same one. It takes true character to be one of us without resorting to absolute destruction." Ris laid onto the ground and began to look into the far-reaching blue sky. "And, isn't that why you are here? Do you want to control your instincts or do you want to be led?"

Ryuu nodded. "We are unique, but even people who are ordinary are unique and special. If you took away my wings and flames I would still be me. There are things that make everyone unique. So we may be able to muster up more courage and character, but we lack the courage to be in a bustling society without learning how to control our gifts. So really, ability or not there are downsides. Pros and cons. "

Ris closed his eyes as he thought of her response. It is true that each person is their own individual, but from what he had witnessed, a lot of them were sheep, following the lead goat. However, he thought through her fourth sentence. Lacking the courage to be in a bustling society without learning how to control our gifts. "If we did have the courage and not have the control, how many people would be harmed? Isn't that why they hunt us now? Because tey fear us and the unknown?"

"We may accidentally harm others, that is true. And they may hate us. But it sort of goes the same for them. They don't have the courage to try to understand us. They just label us as dangerous as son as they see that we don't have control. So really no matter what happens someone is going to be left out " Ryuu said. She movedhe wings creating a gentle breeze.

Ris sat up from his current position. " John F. Kennedy once said 'If we cannot now end our differences, at least we can help make the world safe for diversity.' We can only hope with time, mankind can accept us. If not, those differences will destroy us all." He stood up shakily from the ground and began to brush the dust off his pants. "It does seem to me though, that you have had this conversation before? Tell me, have you studied much on the differences between individuals?"

"Ive never had a conversation like this before, but I often wonder what it would take for us all to live peacefully. What the pros and cons of having an ability are and the pros and cons of not. I find the difference between people interesting. Bonds, individuality, unity, harmony, unlawfulness, balance. They are entertaining things to question and think about, when you fit our current society in. The balance thats there along with the injustice. The pressure from peers, how and why people act the way they do. It all fascinates me. So I think about when I can," Ryuu smiled. Humans. Such an interesting topic. And her beast instincts made it even more fun of a topic. Part of her saw them as the society that left her. Part of her though of them as the race that hunted her species. And part of her acknowledged humans as weak, pathetic, tasty, little toys and snacks.

"I think the cafeteria would be good. I haven't eaten anything yet." Mia said in response as the two continued down the hall. "You said that there are no normal humans here? When I watched the video I left myself it said that this is a school filled with odd people here. It can't be true that everyone has superpowers. Can it?" She said, a bit hesitant on believing what she heard from the video and what Rebound implied to be true. "All those things are only true in movies and books but not real life, right?" By this point the two of them were getting close to the kitchen as the sound of the other students could be heard within. She wasn't very keen on meeting any of the other students without her memories, especially since it sounded like there were quite a few in the kitchen. Although uncomfortable with the idea, she knew she would have to meet them eventually.

"That is a good attitude to have, especially these days. We can only hope and attempt to achieve such a idea." Ris looked back up at Ryuu. His clothes were going to be dirty so he might as well wash them soon. He did remember that she had come from the kitchen. "Did you forget anything inside the kitchen? You did come running out of there." Maybe she forgot her food or something, but he was starting to get hungry. He had not eaten today, because he had become entranced by the novel he had been reading about. He might just treat himself to one of the donuts he always hides in there.

"Oh. I forgot my bacon," Ryuu realized. She speed walked back to the cafeteria and sat down again. "I'm sorry," she apologized. Hoping her exit hadn't seemed rude. She had left immediately after refusing some toast. But it wasn't the toast that had made her leave. So she hoped it hadn't been taken like that.

Ris began walking back into the kitchen, carefully walking from a distance from the fridge and oven as he headed towards the cabinet on the far side. He did take notice of two new guys talking to good ol'Lucas. He was always outdoors, wandering about. When you could find there, he was always stuffing his face. However, Ris always liked that facet about him as he did what he wanted. He opened up the door to the cabinet and reached in for his donuts, way in the back. He felt the back of the cabinet first and he began grabbing the air, hoping to make contact with the bag. He searched in there like a moron for awhile before making the connection. Where had his donuts gone?!

Distracted by the entrance of Ris and the re-entrance of Ryuu, Lucas turns to see what Ris is doing and when he doesn't pull out his donuts like usual he looks quizzically at him. "Yo Sparky what's wrong no donuts?" Lucas gets up to help Ris look for his food. Using his acute sense of smell to follow the trail of donut smell he walks out of the kitchen/cafeteria and walks straight into Mia and Rebound still hot on the trail of the donuts. "Oh hey you two seen Sparky's or is it Ris yeah that's hi name Ris, still like to call him Sparky. Anyways have you two seen his donuts?" His nose twitches the smell of donuts fading quickly he starts to head back to the kitchen/cafeteria walking slowly so that he can hear the response of his question.

Ris began to panic as he could not find his food. He had those specially bought with some of them with strawberry filling and some others with a butterscotch topping on others. They were really hard to find, but he knew of a store in the city that would make them. Sparks began to fly as he became nervous and began to throw things from the cabinet. Eventually running out of things to throw, he turned to see that Lucas was gone. Ris's eyes narrowed and his nostrils began to flare up as small bits of electricity began to run through his fingertips. His hair, surprisingly enough, did not stand up. However, the oven began to flare up and the fridge began to make a weird noise as Ris began walking out of the kitchen and outside where he saw Lucas talking to Rebound and Lucy. Lucas seemed to be enjoying himself as he talked. Ris outstretched his hand where a small ball began to form there. It spun around as it grew to the size of a grape. "Hey Paddington, where you heading to? Trying to run off? Escape the scene of your crime?"

"YO MAN I MAY LIKE DONUTS BUT THOSE WHERE YOURS AND I DON'T STEAL." Lucas turns to see Ris sparking, and creating his ball lighting, in Lucas' hand is his peanut butter jar. He holds it up for Ris to see,"See I got my peanut butter,not your donuts. I left the kitchen to find your donuts, I was using my keen sense of smell to find them." He slowly raises his hands above his head.

"Trying to deflect now? How pitiful." The ball began to quickly grow in size to that of a baseball. The air around him was becoming filled with electricity with Ris staring at Lucas. Why would Lucas take his food? It had to be someone else. It had to! Or maybe, he was just hiding it, attempting to parry off guilt. "Where did the trail lead to? Come on, speak up." Ris wanted to get to the bottom of this. He was hungry and his stomach could not hold out any longer. It needs nourishment! Food!! With that, Ris toppled onto the ground, the ball returning to his cells.
