Five years ago the Mutant Registration Act was passed, making it illegal to possess super-human abiities in the United States without registering them with the MRD. Mutant Response Division officers were stationed in every major city, a new division of the Justice department meant to deal with crimes involving super humans, though Shield still deals with large scale threats.

New York has its share of heros, including the Fantastic Four, Spider Man, and Pepper Pots (a result of the Extremis thing from Iron Man 3). It is also is the nearest major city to the Xmen, a Mutant rights group lead by Professor Xavier which works with the US government (via Dr. Hank McCoy) to insure that mutants aren't oppressed. Most of these Xmen are registered with the MRD, if only for the practical reason that the government won't consider ideas created by outlaws.

Genosha was founded by Magneto shortly after the law was passed as a place of safety for all mutants. He rules it as its King, though it's population is too small to be a threat to any other country.

LeBeau City was founded around the same time by Gambit. Just outside of New Orleans, and sometimes considered the Mutanttown district of New Orleans, it is a town where only mutants and mutant sympethizers are allowed. No Mutant discrimination or Anti-mutant propaganda will be tolerated it this city.

Little does anyone know that something serious is about to appear which is a threat to everyone, human, mutant, superhuman, and even Norse God.

I realized earlier today that many of you are probably reading the last paragraph and assuming your typical "Sentinel" type future. It won't be, though, not exactly. Think Marvel Universe, not Xmen universe. Also, it's 20 years after X3, in case anyone was wondering when the RP is set.

This sounds cool and I think I might just know what that secret menace is...

I usually mentally put my character in a situation, then imagine how they would react. That can tell you a lot about their personality.

Powers:
Physical mutation: His physiology is unique in several different ways. His bone structure allows him great flexibility. His spine is more flexible than an ordinary human, enabling him to remain in a crouched position for a long time and perform contortionist-type feats without causing any damage to his spine. Bamf's balance and bodily coordination are all enhanced to superhuman levels. He also possesses superhuman dexterity, being able to manipulate items and fence with either hand. His eyes (which are constantly washed in black) grant him a marked degree of heightened night vision.

He once possessed a tail capable of full dexterity to manipulate objects and wield weapons in combat. He lost his tail in an erroneous teleport up against a brick wall. Technically, his genetic material is able to be harvested from the sight of the incident for GM purposes.

Wall crawling: Where his father could blend into the shadows by warping light, he can stick to shadows by an instinctive connection to the home dimension of his father and grandfather. This allows him to fight in a third dimension most others lack but also means he can not cling to an activated ceiling light for example beyond his physical strength.

Hex-bolts The gift of his mother, aside from five fingers and toes. He possesses the ability to launch a black bolt to strike his opponents and make them disappear with the telltale *Bamf*. They are trapped in his grandfathers realm for one second per pound of weight, they reappear in roughly the same place as they left. When He uses it on himself, however, he teleports 1 foot for each pound he weighs, limiting him to only hundred foot bursts or so. Not the mileage his father or grandfather is capable of.
Something of a saving grace to him is his limit of distance, as he does not have his fathers innate spatial relations, leaving him at risk to teleport himself into a solid object, again.

Personality:
For the most part he is happy go lucky to hide his anger at global injustice. He has always had a fascination with sleight of hand and stage magic, on quiet nights he loves to curl up with horrible kung-fu movies and a plate of sushi to pass the time away whenever a girl isn't available. Even being the prodigal son of two great mutants and the grandson of even greater mutants he is still a physical mutant, he can never pass in normal society. As such he has a deep seeded hate for 'pretty' mutants who can pass by unseen and will bend over backwards, literally, for those who cant hide themselves. Where his father was a devout Catholic, Magnus has always carried a despise for the church's position on mutants to the point he is a vocal follower of Loki, a 'real god' of Asgard that has put many a hero of earth on their heels.

Taught never to rely on any one thing, he keeps a number of tools on hand at all times.
Tanto Located on his left pectoral with a kevlar mesh sheath as an extra measure of defense from heart-shots.

Grenades: Never keeping more than two on him at any time in uniform after hearing the story of his grandfather pulling the pins of a dozen soldiers at once. Chaff-nonmagnetic metal flakes meant to scramble electronic measures, Knocker-compressed microfine Metal powder used to blow open door with high kinetic output or stun multiple organic opponents
throwing irons As designed, but his are hollow and fluted with multiple tiny holes to ensure a sucking wound to let an opponent bleed out if organic or hydraulic if he can land the right shot. Kept on his person on a thigh holster even out of uniform.
Sling: Simple kevlar thong used to hurl a simple fiberglass sphere with enough force to break bone, When he slips a thread through the ring of a grenade, it becomes a twofold weapon to launch the five pound weapon to impact before exploding. This he also keeps on a pocket with a hard rubber ball in civilian attire.
Uniform: A class A-III fabric armor in the make of denim jacket and pants with impact plastics Velcro atop. Can withstand up to .357 at point blank with only broken bones.
