Co-GM's: @DaDrummer676 & @Kalas

Hey there guys! I was hoping to get a small group together for a SAO RP, taking place right when the game first launches. Now I know what you are thinking, "this is done all the time now ugggggh" and here's what I have to say to that, "So?" Haha. No but seriously, I would love to get a few people interested in this. I have never actually been the GM on one of these so any advice or help would be welcome. As for leveling and sword skills, I figured I would leave that open to everyone's discretion, I just ask a few things.

- Since I am not going to be able to post 24/7 I ask that we have a loose fitting sort of post order, that way none of us get left behind in the dust if we get busy. I know that's asking a bit but I've had group roleplays before that because of someone's schedule they basically get knocked out before they can manage to post...and that sucks. Again, suggestions are welcome (:
- And the obvious no god-modding, no Mary Sues, etc.
Other than that, let's see how this goes!

I'd be interested also! Is the concept going to be the same? 100 floors, beta testers, etc. PM me if you need a Co-GM :) I think leveling shouod be taken out because there's no real standard for how you gain and how much you gain experience points. As for skills I think they should be earned by doing quests or side plots. If you do integrate a stat system the I suggest you don't make it too precise because then there will always be one person who's the best and wins every fight and that is no fun :P

I usually only post once a week average in my RPs anyway. ^-^; (Note: It's because of school so ye. College is lame and impedes on RP time.)

Alright, I'ma throw in my interest. I've got a pre-made character that I'll probably use for this, as well as a guild that I'll have my character start up in game. I'd also like to extend my own offer to aid you as a Co-GM or simply someone who you can brainstorm with.

Also, will this RP follow the seemingly usual playing format of: Link Start > Killing Boars > Kabaya's Announcement > Time Skip > Free Roam? Because in the many SAO RPs I've played in, this approach seems to have the least success, despite following the route of the Anime. I'd suggest mixing things up at the beginning to add your own unique twist.

I have a few ideas but obviously it is up to Kirisuna if they want to integrate them into the RP. Feel free to weigh your opinion in.

1. The game mechanics change at [insert floor #] and monsters can now come out of dungeons and roam where they please. This adds a new sense of danger, and no one is safe. Maybe we are a clan who protects cities and people from the monsters?

2. At [insert level#] a new mechanic is integrated called Guild Wars. Clans can now fight other clans for XP and money and special items. This would add a more PVP aspect to the RP.

3. A large amount of deaths in safe zones begin to pop up. It seems like a guild has found a glitch to duel and kill in safe areas. It's up to us to stop them.

Let me know what you guys think, and I promise I won't be offended if you dislike them :P

I've written a SAO RP based solely upon this idea. :P And I rather the like the two other ideas as well, it would certainly serve to make this RP unique.

I think all the ideas that have been mentioned are good ones, I like each of them actually. I started this up with a vague idea and a need for some good SAO badassness so you can see why I said any advice is golden. As for Kalas and Drummer, I think if the three of us spear-headed this thing it could be quite awesome! I don't really have a character sketched out myself yet, just been doing some brainstorming. But I think the whole killing boars thing does get a bit boring after a bit so we should definitely add something new. As to what this is, well we can figure that out.

So since we have 5 (possibly 6) people I'm going to close this out as we do have quite enough people interested and I don't want too large of a group. Also, it has been decided that I will have a couple Co-GM's who are going to assist me (since I hardly know what I am doing ahahaha) so I'm going to edit that into the original post and then we can try and get this ball rolling.

Awesome! I'm excited to get started :D Also, I was thinking that we could possibly write up story plots that span a certain number of floors to keep the RP from stagnating. For instance, the first floor would be us establishing our characters and the world, including guilds and friendships and such, which would then culminate in a climatic boss battle that could be used to initiate a time-skip (similar to the anime) and proceed to lay down a format of how we conquer each floor.

The time-skip would move us up to the 10th floor where the RP is played out within the next 3-5 floors. Within those following floors, we would play out an overarching story plot that runs whilst our characters still have to deal with clearing floors and defeating bosses. After the end of that overarching plot, we could then initiate another time-skip that would jump us up to the 22nd floor where we would play out another storyline within another set of floors, and so on and so forth.

This would allow us to roll out the RP in a way that keeps things moving and keeps everyone's characters growing at a decent rate, as well as ensuring that we don't become stuck in a rut on the fifth floor and people lose motivation to play because there are still another 95 floors to roleplay. I find that roleplays with a definitive end goal and a plan of how we are going to get there tend to succeed more often than the roleplays that just leave things open ended until player interest dies out.

This is simply a suggestion of how we could run and enjoy a decent roleplay. Let me know what you think! :D

I think that would be a good idea to work with, since I do agree with the fact that rp's that get stuck in a rut tend to die out rather quickly. But I think that if we are going with that idea then maybe each time skip could integrate each of Drummer's ideas. Say on the tenth floor that's when the game mechanics change and we have to hunt down the monsters and protect the cities from harm. Then on say, floor 22 the Guild Wars start, and on floor (insert floor #) the deaths in safe zones start happening and it's up to our characters to find and fix the problem. But again, that's just an idea that I am throwing out. Feel free to comment or make changes at your leisure. I think between the 3 of us we can work out all the kinks. Also, anyone else can chime in too, I think I speak for all of us when I say any suggestions are welcome :)

Oh, and I can set up the OOC shortly with a character sheet made up so we can start hashing out character mmkay?

You will just have to bear with me because the new RPG set up is still boggling my mind, I'm so used to the old version where each thread is different (i.e Int Chck, OOC, and IC) and I'm not quite sure how to make them all one connected thread yet.
