@BCTheEntity Again, I take responsibilities for not making that clear in the initial post. v.v That was a mistake on my part. And, for what it's worth, I am sorry. I know having to rework a character several times can get tedious. :/
But don't think just because they aren't super powerful that they're just a step above the common person. There's a big difference between being a master of something and being merely somewhat stronger than others. It's a long process.

Alright, he looks awesome! I just have a few comments, but nothing too bad. I really like your character, he's not what I was expecting.

Even though his father is a King, he'd still pay some sort of homage to the Emperor, but the whole concept is fine (not necessarily complete sovereignty, but you get it right?). That's just me being nit-picky.

The only other issues I have are his abilities being just a bit too involved for costing 1 SP. Is there an upgrade to Quickness, the plus sign? Because then I believe you have one too many SP in your skeleton. For Illusion; what kind of illusion? Auditory, visual, or both? How big can it be? (Please remember that you will be able to upgrade these abilities.) The tracking seems a bit OP, so could you pick a terrain/environment he is a specialist in?

So I think I took care of the issues. As for the the size of his illusions, the bigger they are the less detailed they can be. So he could create an illusion of a table, but it would seem not so realistic, or he could create an apple that would look quite realistic.

@AllIsOne
Cool. I like how you tied in my character to your reason for being in the city. I am curious though. Does Jakken know what Kragen looks like at all? He's a huge red bearded guy carrying a ridiculously large axe so he's kinda hard to miss.

Well, since it probably makes sense that people would know what he looks like, I'll edit it in that Jakken heard the man has a huge axe and a beard.

Hey! Let me know if this is all good.

Name:

Taric Vesero, “The Butcher Lord”

Age:

42

Race:

Human

Appearance:

Taric is a man of moderate size, standing near six feet with a slim build. Loose, tattered clothing adorns his skin, dark breeches and coat covered by a threadbare hooded cloak, deep brown in color. A mop of graying blonde hair frames his face, cut in rough ends near his shoulders. His green eyes are narrow and creased, a contrast to a small, straight nose and smooth lips on a pale face that might have once been handsome. Taric is usually seen with a large travelling pack and never seen without his sword belt, with a blade on each hip.

Personality:

Taric is often compared to a wild animal. He bears no social stigma, no method when it comes to interacting with others; he simply does as his impulses demand. He often ignores the common rabble, but when someone takes his interest, he will immediately pursue them. Most of Taric’s pursuits end when his target is either robbed, killed, or scandalized. Occasionally a cause will sweep him up, and within such a cause he can be docile, or even cooperative, with a goal to seek and keep him from the machinations of his mind. When Taric is calm he is often dire, speaking little and more often mumbling cryptic secrets.

Morality/Religion:

Taric has no thought to spare for religion, or anything beyond the scope of his physical being. He simply analyzes his surroundings, and acts on instinct and whim. His view on the concepts of good and evil are quite vague, and he believes instead in action and reaction. The descended gods are only another obstacle in his reality, one which may or may not intrigue him on any given day.

Biography:

To many, Taric is known as the Butcher Lord. It is common knowledge that he was once a noble in service to King Elrin, and a fairly amiable one at that. It is also common knowledge that his wife, Frejna Vesero, was lost to a fever, and it is believed that her death is what broke his mind. After several months of confining himself to his keep, Taric invited many other lords to dinner, lords whom he was very close to. Taric slaughtered them all that night, hacking away their limbs in a frenzied trance, and did not stop until the last survivors of his servants fled the estate.

It is unclear what happened to Taric after that night, but nearly a year later rumors began to surface. He was leading a large band of men, preying on outlying nobles and amassing a larger army. Taric proved a formidable foe and expert strategist despite his madness, but his men were untrained and too few, and after several skirmishes with the bannermen of lesser lords, Taric’s rebellion was quelled. He fled into hiding once more.

The First Descent put a true end to Taric’s campaign. Over the subsequent years, his band retired to fighting the extraplanar beings that invaded the land. It was a losing battle. After a failed expedition to a fallen town to recover resources, Taric lost the remainder of his army, and has since retreated to the outskirts of Urenda.

Other Notes:

Class:

Dual Swordsman

Skill Points:

0 / 7

Weapons/Tools:

Longsword (free)

Shortsword (1 SP)

Skills/Abilities:

Fighting Style: Dual Swordsman - Taric wields a blade in each hand, dancing like a whirlwind of razors. (free)

Magic Style: Hel's Gate - Somewhere in Taric's mad ramblings, a dark magic infected him and manifested itself in otherworldly chants and incantations. These incantations open a channel of mana within Taric's body known has Hel's Gate. The Gate's power possesses his mind, shattering rational thought, but allows him to call forth dark energy. This dark energy alters the fabric of the mortal plane in some way, often manifesting in illusions of the mind. The more it is used, the greater its power becomes, and the further Taric slips into insanity. (1 SP)

Natural Affinity: Quick Reflexes (1 SP)

Skill: Military Strategy (1 SP)

Magical Abilities:

Swallow Dance: Casts multiple illusions of his blades, confusing opponents as he slashes. Creates 2 illusion blades per slash for 3 slashes. (1 SP)

Shadow Mist: Covers a wide area in a black fog, obscuring vision. Covers a 30 foot radius around the caster and lasts for 1 minute. (1 SP)

Nighteye: Enables night vision. Lasts 1 hour. (1 SP)

General Equipment:

Travelling Pack
Wineskin
Coin Purse
Skinning Knife
Rations

@AllIsOne Looks great! Accepted. I shall move him!

@Tancuras Oh, hello, he's different, I like him. I think he's leveled fine (his magic style is a bit vague, though thinking about it, you probably copied the older version of the CS that didn't have it explained, and I hadn't elaborated on it before that). I only have one issue with character, and it's his background. Mitchin came to Reath because the world entered a previously unknown state of harmony. There were no major wars or issues going on (except the Orcs, but they weren't considered people). His background contradicts that. He could've had a roaming band, but they wouldn't have been a threat to the kingdom. I think you can keep every other aspect. I love that he's a former noble, and even more love that no one would think that without knowing his history because he's frankly a bit batshit.

Ah, sure, okay. I thought that might be an issue, so the "skirmishes" I mentioned would have taken place a few years before the First Descent, but I can tone it down to random and generally harmless banditing on the roads if that makes more sense.

I'll touch up the magic style, too.

The only problem was that he was a threat to the kingdom;

After several skirmishes, Taric’s rebellion was quelled, but he fled into hiding once more.

I completely missed this sentence; I was too distracted by the one before. >.< That makes it a lot better, actually. Sorry, my bad. The only issue I have with it now is it attracting the attention of the king. Just lessen the extent and its fine!

@rocketrobie2 That's alright. Thank you for letting me know!

@Orior, I omitted a couple lines in Taric's backstory. His skirmishes were now strictly kept in the lands of minor nobles, and had negligible impact. I also detailed his magic style, so I would like you to check it and see if it's sort of what you had in mind :]

Also added some details to the spells.

@Tancuras Alright, that sounds good! I didn't know if I was alright with your magic having an effect on the plane itself, but because the world is in such a state of unravel, its okay if it escalated to that after the Descent, because its been 20 years he could've gotten to that by now. Spells are good and background is good. Night vision can just be an enable/disable effect.

I actually just noticed that your character would have been a 15 yr old at the time of the Descent. I'm not sure he could've been married by then, could you just make his like 4 yrs older? It won't have any other effect on him. Sorry I hadn't noticed before. >>

@AllIsOne and @Razqua, because I have changed the CS so many times, I kinda edited the two of yours. Please make sure they are still the same when you get a chance. :]

@Orior: Right, so I've modified Koe Henir's biography to a state that implies less success out of him that it originally did. Ideally, I'll be able to alter his current abilities to less powerful versions of themselves to accomodate this change, e.g. by changing dyl-Dracken Kovos to an ability and reducing the time he can use it for before it starts ruining him, but if you want me to change any of them outright, I can do that too. Incidentally, regarding an earlier question you asked regarding the 30% figure for normal bodily strength, that's based on the figure given in the HSK anime itself, though there are also IRL sources which suggest that this figure is relatively accurate, with the addendum that utilising an excessive amount of strength may or may not actually destroy one's body if one has trained themselves both physically and neurologically to recruit more of their muscle mass into the appropriate actions. But that might all be completely inaccurate, so you'll want to make sure I'm not just spouting BS on that front, I think.

@Orior Everything looks good.

@AllIsOneSorry if you misunderstood. I wasn't saying that Kragen's beard is huge(although i does cover half his face). I was saying that Kragen himself was huge(6 feet 8 inches in height). I mentioned the red beard because red is a less common hair color so it's a distinguishing feature.

Caught in the act xD

I've been working on a CS. Should be done tomorrow. Been mulling over a dwarven enchanter, but I'm slightly unsure how to spec that magic style wise. Any tips?

@Riaxh It wouldn't be a magic style because they, enchanters, dont use magic themselves. It's a skill. It involves imbuing items with raw mana. It comes in different forms naturally, so you can mix it with molten ore, you can encrust it/embellish with it, ect.

A weekend of being away and my mind is blown by all of the ooc chat lol. My question being, is Dalgun perhaps a bit too OP? When I envision my Dwarven Battlerager, a veteren of many battles comes to mind T.T against orcs, goblins and the like. But by no means is he a greenhorn to combat.

@Baconator Kragen is also a famous demon hunter.
I look at your power not by story, but by skill point allotment and ability power. Because your equipment/abilities/fighting style are lowly leveled, those are the mechanics I will follow. Our characters will all have impressive backstories because this is a time for extraordinary heroes!!!!! Lol, but seriously, he's leveled fine, so its good. Is he completed? o3o
