Ah, I feel kind of horrible about this, but my muse for Xerxes has entirely evaporated. I'm not sure if I can muster up the will to complete his introduction post. Hence the inactivity. As such, in lieu of offering excuses, I think I might withdraw, because I'd rather not drag down the group any more.

@Gowi

It's not creativity in general so much as not being able to write anything for one specific character. I wish it were that easy, haha.

Yeah as what Gowi said, you can do it. I've been through similar situations where I just couldn't think of something to write for my character. One instance is staring at my laptop's screen for almost an hour and still nothing comes out. I can't even come up with a decent set of words to describe the scenes I've been planning on my mind. But trust me, once you start writing, you'll have the idea. Just give it a go. ;)

One tip though, try listening to some music that perfectly fits the scenes/moods you're planning with your post. Maybe that might help in a way where your focus won't drift away from what you're planning to write.

Don't wait on me to progress every scene. I've mentioned before I want this RP's plot to be one big, equally-contributed group story where no one's piggy-backing on anyone else to follow the main story. You can always set-up your own story as well; there's no reason why you can't progress into a new scene by yourself, or introduce some new sub-plot that affects everyone. There's still a lot about your character, other characters and The Towers that hasn't been explained or explored yet.

I get this, but its important for time to be cohesive and not inconsistent as well; that's what I mean by like pacing and progression - we can't have like John A progressing his plot to nighttime while John B is still in the early morning.

As @Scoundrel said, music is a LIFESAVER when it comes to certain posts. I rely on it to a point that I listen to music when writing school essays. I have a wide variety of ambience tracks from various movies/tv shows/video games that could definitely help :)

One tactic I find very useful even in important things like writing essays is just to start, put something on paper. The inspiration would start flowing then. You'll ease up into the writing and sometimes the language would do most of the work for you, if you're good enough with it. Basically, just force yourself to write a bit and then it'd keep getting easier from there. It worked with Stephen King (he's an extreme case as he forces himself to write up to 2000 words a day before a van got him bedridden for a long time in hospital), it worked with me. Should work with you or anybody.

So basically, I have one very important question to ask. See, it's been 4 days since the last IC post so...

This RP dead?

Agreed. Advanced RPs often go a long time without posts - this is entirely normal. I think it's also fairly clear that most, if not all, those participating have other things going on in their lives and so getting around to making a decent post can take some amount of time.

I have noticed that, generally speaking, this time of year often sees a slowdown in the activity on RP forums. However, as McHaggis has said, the OOC is still active which indicates most of us are still dedicated to this RP.

That being said, a few people who applied early on haven't been posting in here recently so they may well have dropped out. I'm pretty sure Pal is prepared to handle a few drop-outs, seeing as this always happens - whether due to lack of commitment or simply real life stuff getting in the way. Maybe it's time to proof read that CS? [Insert annoying winking smilie here]

Jumping that shark is a bit impatient and presumptuous, isn't it? I mean as others have said; advanced isn't a freeway of posts like casual/free tend to be due to us understanding about real world responsibilities, time constraints, and so forth.

Please. It's obviously not dead, since the OOC is still active, and it's only been four days. Not enough time has passed to decide that.

My worry is based on the common 3-day rule. As in if you don't post within 3 days, you're no show. I'm not being impatient or anything. Haven't I shown any indication that I'm being patient? I continued to show interest and fidelity to this particular RP even after about 2 weeks. If it's anyone else, they would have disappeared without a question even as the RP sinks. I thought I'm being polite by asking. The saddest part though is if this RP isn't dead when I asked if it is, it would be the first time ever since I came back to roleplayerguild. So that's about 3-4 RPs that preceded this one. So it's become quite a ritual with me.

I don't get why you guys are trying to attach emotion (and all the bad traits a person could have) to my question when there's no indication of any. I'm not angry, I'm not sad, I'm not frustrated or anything. It's just a question with some history behind it.

I hope you're right about this stuff, because it means I get to join this totally-not-dead RP! :)

XD lol I haven't even finished the CS. I was kinda waiting on Pal's go-ahead before I fill up the final section. But I might do it anyways on my free time.

Yeah, I understood it as an objective question; I just tried to (poorly) voice that I have confidence in the game and that we should remember to be patient and see it out.

Honestly, it's okay. I understand completely that sometimes you just can't force yourself to feel interested anymore. Just know that, no matter how full we may be in the future, you're always welcome to come back if/when you find that inspiration again - whether it be with Xerxes or another character. Preferably with Xerxes, becaue I'm still looking forward to that scene.

Thanks anyway for being a part of everything, and good luck with all your future RPing!

To completely echo everyone before me (thanks, everyone!), nah, we ain't dead. Personally weekends are my busiest days, so I'm not the best at keeping up with things on those days. I'll get things rolling on shortly, though.

@McHaggis and @Jinxer, sorry about taking a while to get my post up. I'll have it done later today, setting all of our characters up for a nice, big collaborative post. Yay, progress!

And I've - finally - gotten a new post up! Cue the applause!

@Jinxer, I set it up so that Elliot and Charles (two NPC's) are off wandering through the mall; I figured they could bump into Julius somehow. I can leave it up to you, or if you want we could write it together? Let me know.

@Darkraven, I just want to confirm: is your CS still a WIP, or is it finished?

@DJAtomika, I forgot to mention: I'm going to work on an Annette post to (finally) reply to Warren, and if all goes as planned, I can have that ready for sometime later today. Sorry about the wait!
