"Ok, its strange though dont ya think. they get all their supplies in box trucks and now theres a coffin" Katya said. as she entered the building she nodded to Squad 2 to signal them to move in and get ready to breach the complex across the street. after jogging up a flight of stairs and setting up the Berreta she looked down her sights. now she had a better view on what was unfolding.

"I never said that it isn't strange. Moreover, I am afraid that whatever they transport is way more alive than we think it is." Allison mumbled along as she followed Katya inside the building. When they arrived at their position, Allison immediately got in position and grabbed her binoculars.
Let's see if I my guess was right.

"Allison. Scan for anymore targets than the four we saw leave the vehicle." Katya said adjusting the magnification on her sights. if there were no others around then they would go for the first guy carrying the coffin. that meant what ever or who ever was init was about to become very clear

Magnus. Mithias narrowed his eyes at him, as he often did. "Magnus you're insane." He told him, as he often did. It was practically a greeting by now. Mithias shut the car door and streched his little claws. He still couldn't believe they were working together.

Magnus merely grinned.

"I want to know everything he hasn't told us: his name, who he clams to have worked for, how he got the sunstone, everything he knows or thinks he knows about Kaminokage, and utterly his life's story since his parents first met." Mithias scanned the vicinity, even though this was supposedly a secret base. He looked very close to where Alison and Kayta were hiding for a long moment. "Lord Bedivere, would the human lose his memories if you enthralled him?"

Any human would undoubtedly be exasperated by a long trip in a box. Hopefully, that was enough to encourage Martin's sincerity.

...A few weeks prior...

The war had begun. Bullet shells were littering the ground more frequently than rain drops, and when it did rain, the streets ran red with re-hydrated blood. Attacks were happening nightly, focusing on locations and organizations of great importance to the humans. Panic had risen, and vampires were finally receiving the fear and reverence they deserved. Fear aside, the humans fought back with equal ruthlessness, holding strong to their technological advances and weaponry, as if the cold steel could keep them warm in the absence of the brothers, sisters, sons and daughters that were stolen from them.

The vampiric counsel looked to Lady Mo in these times, for advice and the wisdom of a warrior. These were truly unique times in the age of vampire, when all united under the ancient one that they once shunned as an abomination to their kind. Massive war surrounded them but, within the vampiric community, there had never been a greater time of peace and unity. As the head adviser of the war counsel, most of Lady Mo's time was eaten up by tedious politics and strategy, but she never let all of her time be stolen by it. No... she had a promise keep, a prophecy to fulfill.

At the end of every night, just before the break of dawn, she would study and meditate. Sometimes this involved ancient texts and sometimes it was simply sitting on the forest floor, quiet and alone. The visions came to her slowly and in pieces, and they didn't come every night, but they started when she first saw it - The Sun Stone. At the time, she kept her cool, not wanting to seem intrigued in front of the driveling human, Martin. But that stone was important, she knew that she needed it, it was the missing piece. After many years of failed attempts and horrible creations, Mohowauuck finally had everything she needed to become The Mother. Well, everything except for her first child…

Enter Aislinn. One early morning, before the sun rose, Mo was stirred out of her trance by a rustling in the bushes. Out fluttered a clumsy looking girl, pale and skinny and with a curtain of red hair. “I’m sorry, I was just trying to find a good spot to track the birds. I have to be out here very early to see them. You see I’m a biology student, I specialize in botany and ornithology.” The girl rambled on, quick and nervous, but Mo simply put a finger to her lips and shushed her. “Hush child, I have been expecting you. You are more than just nature’s student, you will be the first of many in a long line of power. Come, we haven’t much time before the sun rises.” Be it a natural curiosity, or vampire compulsion, but the young girl followed this strange vampire into the night.

The very next night in the forest, the ritual was set in place. Aislinn lay on a bed of stone, dressed a simple sheer white gown, bathing in the light of the full moon. She was in a sleep-like stasis, on the verge of unconsciousness as she bled out from deep gashes in each of her four limbs. Aislinn’s blood drained onto the soil, forming rune-like symbols on the ground. Lady Mohowauuck stood beside Aislinn, in the center of the bloody circle as she held The Sun Stone high in the air. She spoke in an ancient tongue, like that of which she spoke as a human back when she was a shaman. Much like a ‘witch’ she had called upon the ancient powers of the sun, the moon, and the earth then, as she did now, for the first time since she was a vampire. After all this time, this was the closest she had ever been to her humanity.

Aislinn drew in a ragged breath and heaved out a deep sigh as her heart slowed. Lady Mo took this as a sign to continue with the ritual. She covered the sun stone with a paste made from dry earth, a few drops of werewolf saliva, and a few white hairs from her wolf own form. Once the paste was applied to the stone, Mo cut a gash deep into her own palm, letting her vampiric blood drain from the wound, over the rock, and into Aislinn’s open mouth.

There were a few moments of silence when Aislinn lay completely still, looking every bit dead and, despite all of her confidence that this trial would work, Mohowauuck looked on nervously. That silence was ended by the sounds of cracking bones as Aislinn jolted back to life. She hissed, her eyes red with rage and her fangs extended. Aislinn’s body began contorting wildly as she began to shift and Lady Mo stepped back, her mouth agape. In seconds a lovely cinnamon-colored werewolf stood before her, beckoned to form by the light of the full moon. All werewolves were bound to their wolf forms in the light of the full moon, but Aislinn was full of surprises. She rapidly shifted herself back into her vampire form and smiled at her sire. Lady Mo grinned wide at the girl, she had finally done it. The very first vampire-werewolf hybrid stood before her. Her child.

…Present Day…

“Oh hush now, Hale, darling. I have a surprise for you, it’s inside…” Mohowauuck ducked in close to her newest werewolf ally, always cautious of people listening in. “It’s something that the humans are completely unaware of, most of the vampires as well.” She whispered in his ear and gave a sly smile. Lady Mo had Aislinn flown in separately from herself and the other oldbloods hours earlier, as she looked mostly human due to her werewolf heritage, and would draw little to no suspicion that way. Aislinn was given safe transport to Magnus’ bunker upon arrival to the states and was set to eagerly await her mother’s arrival.

The vampires and Hale entered the bunker and had the doors sealed behind them. Once the guards deemed that they were safe for the time, Aislinn meekly stepped around the corner. The motion caused her thin green dress to flutter around her ankles, her feet were bare just as Mo’s always were. “Mother, you’re finally here.” Aislinn said, her voice was as soft and lulling as wind chimes. Lady Mo spoke not only to Hale, but to the vampires with her that were also seeing the girl for the first time. “The humans may have their technology and secret weapons. Let me introduce you to ours. This is my daughter, Aislinn, the first of her kind, a vampire-werewolf hybrid.”

The girl blushed in innocent embarrassment and smiled “Oh, you can just call me Ash.”

"I'm going to scout the area. I know Kilo Point very well, and I will be able to tell what we are up against. It looks like the humans have been snooping around Magnus' hideout already. Don't worry, I will avoid being discovered and shall report back long before daybreak. Fortify the base and get communications up with the east coast vampires. I don't want the humans to regain access to their nuclear weapons." Mithias set off on foot toward the SOLDIER base.

"Allison, Tell Second Squad to get ready. we got a Kill or Capture target just left the site." Katya said quickly training her sights on the Vampire. Mithias, she thought his name was. responsible to turning a Valued ally for SOLDIER into a Freak Show Vampire. Oh how the tides of War will turn if they bag him for Torture and Interrogation.

"Got it." Allison replied and turned her radio on. "Team 2, we got a high priority target which just left the site. Capture him alive or neutralize him. Sniper Team 1 and 2 will provide cover. Over.". After she transmited the orders she waited a bit for the confirmation of team 2 and then moved back into position. "Missed anything?" she asked as she resumed her duty as a spotter.

Mithias made his way casually through the wilderness before arriving at the scrapheap that was now Kilo Point city. Going slow gave him time to be wary, and to think. They had survived a full month now since the war officially began, but there were still a lot of enemies to kill, a lot of necessary slaughter to be had. Kaminokage had yet to be seen. Presumably, Kami had suffered severe injuries at the hands of Magnus, and any human, bionic or otherwise would need time to heal. The psychotic Purge were much less than they had been since human infrastructure had been broken down. Hopefully, they would have no chance to create more robotic vampire hunters, but their secret labs had not yet been discovered.

Various roads in the city were warded with armed humans and fires. Of course people still lived here, and they had to band together for support just as the vampires did. The lights in KP Soldier base were on, but of course it was a military base, not a shelter. There was no way it could function if it served as a refugee camp for the entire city. Mithias recalled visions of the past, sights from within the base, a summer sunset long ago. He remembered the white tanks rolling up Main street pouring fire out their muzzles. He would see those days come to an end forever.

Mithias lept high and climbed up the back of an old apartment building. From the top he could look around much more effectively, as the darkness hid nothing from his vampire sight. He walked to the ledge, not half as cautiously as he would have had he been back in his Soldier days, hunting his own kind like a fool. Alone, he let his eyes unfocus for a moment and drift down to the streetcorner below. It was wide and round, like the one he had last played on. Had he forgotten the violin? Had he forgotten than humans made that, could feel emotion, and had he forgotten the mercy of the blonde hunter who had spared his life in Alaska? ...the pact he had made with his father, and where was the lying devil now?! He had escaped him, like always, and had certainly not invited 'the boy.' It was obvious why. Mithias was dead to him, just as he had said, and always had been since his creation. "When you look upon me, all you can see are my ashes." Mithias repeated, settling into cold acceptance of eternity abandoned.

A plane took off from within KP base. So, Soldier still had air power did they?

Now that he had calmed down Hale was intrigued by this 'surprise for him'. Did she bring something back? Did she have some kind of plan?
He was surprised to see a young girl introduced.
“Mother, you’re finally here.”
'surprise for him.'
'mother'
"a vampire-werewolf hybrid.”
'for him.'
A deep sense of horror overcame Hale as it dawned on him what might be going on.
Was she... How? When? He didn't remember a thing. Vampire magic!
He couldn't imagine how, but it was possible. Wasn't she a shape shifter? Could she appear human?
A few possible candidates from a fitting time ago popped up. How old would she be?
"I-Uh.. Hello Ash." Carefully he shook her hand. "How is that possible? I thought vampires and werewolves couldn't eh.. "

Lady Mo chuckled at Hale's obvious befuddlement. "Well, vampires and werewolves can certainly try to procreate." she said with a a hint of a wink in her eyes. "The prophecy has been fulfilled, I have become The Great Mother, the founder of a new race - A new era. She is my daughter in that I created her, she did not spring forth from my loins, as is traditional. My body is dead, but hers is something different, eternally alive and able to reproduce. But there is more: she can create more like her with a simple bite, we've experimented a bit. Humans will turn, as will werewolves, but vampires..." her words halted in a brief silence. "They don't turn, exactly." Mohowauuck could continue to gush on, as any proud mother would, but Aislinn spoke up.

"Come now Mother, you speak too highly of me, I am too young to be anything great." she blushed deeper when she realized how much this man was staring at her and she began to intently study the ground.

"Okay, okay, just one last quite important thing. She can walk in the sunlight, all the hybrids can. I said this was a surprise for you, because the wolves you brought with you shall be granted the gift of her blood. All of my wolves will. Today, we build an army."

Hale sighed with relief.
Then smiled when she explained further.
"A new bloodline then. Amazing! I'd almost feel bad for the mortals."
He smiled the most friendly smile he could muster as he lowered a little to address Ailslinn.
"Sounds like you are something great already. You'll have to be in any case. You'll be sire to a lot of idiots soon, with no one but your mother to awnser to. Good luck Ash... It's gonna be fun." Turning back at Mo he spoke with slight concern in his voice.
"The Great Mother then.. This isn't going to be too easy is it?"

It had all gone well. Too well actually. So well that it was almost boring. Almost. There was hardly a challenge when they began, what little resistance they afford was done in by sheer and utter violence. Cutting off the heads of the snakes was merely a first step in the rise to terror, the tail and body was next.

"Not quite so my boy. He would retain all memories, yet I feel it is far more fun to torment him as his comeuppance for daring to bargain with forces beyond his reach. Are you familiar with the tale of Doctor Faustus? Of course you are, silly of me to ask. Yet just as I was more than fantasy of fiction as time would have you forget me, perhaps there is more to this doctor than that is written in plays of him? I have fragments of his journals after all..."

Oddly tangential. However Bedivere soon took the form of a wolf, his suit folding in on itself as his body changed and became much furrier. Not Fluffier but bristled with dark coarse fur, sharpened teeth and hunting eyes. "I shall take on the skin of a wolf in your Honor My'Lady and escort Lord Varomere here to scope the hunting grounds. I am certain he is more than capable alone, but I would rather be with him than watch Lord Shane enjoy his meat, and perhaps three wolves are sufficient enough for a pack... Hence... I depart for the moment with the Vampires."

A boy and his dog? Well if his dog was a rather large wolven creature which began to spread an uneasy darkness around the town as its paws silently advanced.

"Faust? The fuck is he on about? That's from anime or some shit right?"
Hale asked to those that stayed behind with him while they watched Bedivere speed after Mithias as a wolf.
"You foolish, arrogant, lying, pompous cunt! Faust!? This is nothing like bloody Faust!" A muffled voice screamed out from the coffin.
Hale knocked loudly on the lid. "Shut up We'll hear all about it soon enough."

"As great as the view is in here, shall we go inside?"
Magnus gestured for people to get out of the door opening so the gates could close.
"We'll grab our things and meet up with our friends later."
"Yeah, first though. I'm taking a damn shower."

"Allison the targets moving lets move we are gonna have to do this ourselves" Katya said Grabbing the barret and sprinting for the door. she took off towards the area the target was moving. after a couple of minutes she had gotten to a point where she could see him. she set up her barret and aimed for his knees hoping to immobilise the target so they could 'interrogate' him.

"Already? Ok I am right behind-" before Allison could finish her sentence Katya had already sprinted out. Allison stood up and sprinted right after her. After a while Katya stoped and so did Allison who was right behind her. While Katya took aim Allison got in position besides her and kept an eye on the target with her binoculars.

The vampire stood alone on the rooftop, a black figure silhouetted against the night sky. One leg was up on the ledge casually as he looked across the city. Not a breeze disturbed his clothing, not a branch obscured her view, and Mithias was standing perfectly still.

As soon as Katya took the shot, he was gone. The gun fired, quieted by the silencer, but in that instant, the target had moved and Katya did see where to. Perhaps Allison did.

Mithias stood on his right leg as blood poured down his left. He had taken cover behind a large ventilation unit atop the building near him. Both of his swords were drawn, and he listened very, very carefully over his own controlled breaths. Dark blood pooled under his shattered knee. It would heal quickly, but he wouldn't be running or jumping for the moment. Who the hell had shot him?! Mithias fear was that Kami had returned, but he also knew Kami wouldn't have used a gun. Surely a vampire would have had the best chance of sniping his knee in the dark. He still hadn't figured out which direction the bullet had come from, so he waited, hunkered down with defenses ready. How foolish he had been not to assume other vampires might still work for Soldier, but he knew their methods. This was an immobilization tactic, which would certainly be followed up by either direct confrontation or an explosion. Mithias wasn't going to make it obvious he had been hit, but there was nothing he could do about the scent of his blood.

Allison kept Mithias in sight with her binoculars, then Katya shot. The bullet hit his left leg and he took cover asap. "Oho nice shot. It's impressive though that he could take cover with such speed although you just smashed his left leg~" Allison said as she stood up "Well, I'd say! Now if you don't mind I am gonna pick up the target.". Allison did her best at moving to the appartement where she last saw the target as fast and quiet as possible. Slowly she made her way up through the fire escape stairs.
...He's definitely out there, I can smell his blood till here...
Allison had her submachine gun ready as she was about to reach their top end, these rooftops didn't offer much cover he either faced Allison directly or was in plain sight for Katya. Swiftly she moved on from the last few stairs up to the rooftop and immediately aimed for the target "Hold it right there!".

Time ticked by, slowly, as perceived by a vampire, and Mithias watched the almost imperceptible drift of a dark grey cloud across the silvery orb above. Between clouds the naked moon was as bright as the sun. Cars went by below, although fewer than there used to be. Mithias could hear hymns being sung a few blocks away as he felt the pulse of his own blood flow though his limb. He was healing, fast.

A rattle sounded as Allison began ascending the metal rungs of the old fire escape aside the apartment complex. Mithias wasn't healed yet, but he still could have run. Lame, he could have dashed, jumped, and even landed several stories down and took off, but something idiotic inside him struck a chord of fury and he stayed. He would make eye-contact with whoever deigned to wound him and face him one on one in the middle of the night. Securing his left blade he drew his gun. Whoever was after him was taking as much time as a human to climb those steel rungs. he watched the top of the fire escape for Allison's appearance, ready to pull the trigger and be done with it, cold as ice.

Finally, the large bore muzzle of a huge gun pointed over the edge of the wall and a woman appeared behind it. Mithias knew right away that was not the same gun that had shot his leg. This human woman had an unidentified sharp-shooter accomplice. Soldier... he narrowed his eyes at her uniform. Surely they both were under watch, and Mithias would rather not be shot in the head next time.

Allison peeked over the brick wall to see what appeared to be a vampire by his stark white skin, clad in some kind of armor and a long coat, leaning against the massive air duct with his left leg favored, standing over a small pool of liquid that reflected the moonlight above. He looked at her, and shadows mostly hid his face and the fact he had a gun. He had wisely lowered his arm. A sword was visibly drawn in his opposite hand and another was at his side, clipped to his belt somehow. Although she couldn't see his eyes, she could tell he was looking right at her, still apparently wounded and unmoving.

Long hair ran down his front, and the ends of his coat wavered in the breeze slightly. The vampire, despite being a hated enemy and a monster, somehow looked majestic, like a leaning black dragon, a creature of fantasy, and Alison would suddenly realize the few times she had ever been this close to one that was still alive. She could even hear the vile fiend's breaths in the night air, so close she was.

Where he stood, Mithias was still out of view of Katya, although Allison could still be seen near the ledge. She could tell her teammate was pointing her gun at something, probably the vampire.

A glint of light off metal showed Allison that Mithias had a handgun in his left hand, closest to her, but his arm was down.

Mithias gazed at her, glared at her, although she could not see it with her human sight. He cursed under his breath. It was just another fucking human SOLDIER. The rage that boiled within him, the same that had been present when Hank was turned was still there, resurfaced again, smouldering, barely within his control. She had to be killed, and it was her own damn fault. All her kind had to be brought back into subjugation. Had to. The time for playing the hero and questioning everything was done. Now, it was his way, or the highway.

Finally, with a voice as sultry and sinister as a brooding demon could perform, he spoke to her, "Why do you hesitate, little girl? Don't you know we are at war?"
