It is, in fact, listed in the ooc, which will go up tomorrow.

Part of the character creation is selecting Force powers, and we have provided a fairly large list of approved powers. Force Sight is not one of them, and since all Miraluka have Force Sight by default, they are, by extension, disallowed.

I know, it sucks. Miraluka are awesome. But Force Sight allows easy alignment detection and sight through walls, which makes it not only impossible to hide an alignment change but also very easy for the Miraluka to escape by virtue of knowing the position of every guard and Sith in the general area at all times.

Of course others might achieve similar results, but they will have to have done it with cunning and effort, not with an innate ability.

@SimplyJohn.

We read through the relevant bits of that book. There are a few points of note... Most important is that it was written sometime not long after the Ruusan reformation, which was when the Sith as a large, prominent faction faded from the galactic scene. That event changed the Jedi training and knighting protocols.

Aftermath is set some 2650 years before the Ruusan reformation, during a great war with the Sith. Wartime breeds changes to policies. regulations are relaxed, requirements changed for convenience.

Secondly, even if that book had been accurate lore for this era rather than later eras, it clearly states "The Grand Master or Ranking Jedi" in the passage about formalizing knighthood. With the many places Jedi were knighted in this era and countless other eras, the formal knighting would at least as often be performed by the ranking Jedi in that particular locale, be it the Jedi Temple of Coruscant, one of the numerous specialized academies, or a praxeum ship.

As such, there is no logical reason for your Jedi to be waiting for the grand master, no matter if the procedures described in The Jedi Path were defined this long before the book was written or not. If it had been relevant for the Grand Master to judge him, he would have been sent to Alderaan where the Grand Master is at the time, not been asked to wait many days on Coruscant.

@Ellri

On second thoughts I think this RP is getting a bit too bogged down in lore and canon for me, and after seeing the way @Genni was grilled I think it might be best if I step away too.

Best of luck with your endeavours. :)

OOC? The only OOC I have seen is the one posted a good 7 hours after the fact. Any even that does not expressly say what you are saying. The same goes for the two other interest checks you'll posted.

Again you are going off of assumptions of what can happen instead of getting all the facts from the writer. I know you saw the post I made earlier about how the character was created to fit into a zero force user faction. Maybe before going off of assumptions you would have asked in what ways I limited her force talents. To which I would have said that yes she can see auras like others of her species, but that in an rp like this it doesn't matter. And that unlike others in her species her natural force sights limited. She can't see through inanimate objects like walls. She can't even really sense written text, which was part of the fun I got her into. For her limits she was created to have a more rare form of force sight, allowing her sense the electrical energies of devices, though not manipulate them with the force. None of which would help her as a prisoner.

But I guess that would require trust and make decisions based off the character instead of the easy route.

The IC launched yesterday, so we're updating with some useful info here should any more be interested in joining. With the current player count (19), we've got a nice spread of player characters (8 approved & 3 WIP Sith, 8 approved & 1 WIP Jedi prisoners, 3 approved & 2 WIP Jedi rescuers). But we're always looking for more people.

Right now, what we desire is this:

Captive Jedi Knights (only got 3)
Captive Jedi Padawans (got 6)
Jedi Knight Rescuers (got 5)

First and foremost, we're looking for the two former categories, with a relative upper limit of a total count of twenty-four due to the design of the prison complex. That means we can accept up to sixteen characters in that category. For the last category, we're looking for two more right now.

With the current player character distribution, we're not looking for more Sith, but if the prisoner count goes above a certain level, we may recruit more of that too.

As an advanced RP (we're somewhat strict when it comes to character sheets, but we're not quite as strict after the sheet is posted. We highly prefer quality posts over quantity within the posts. A good three-paragraph post is far better than a poor ten-paragraph post. Its what you achieve with your posts that matters most, not how long they are.

We're very lenient when it comes to character ages and genders, but we do also prefer a certain balance in it all. Right now, half the player characters are human, so we'll primarily be looking for characters that are either non-human or near-human, but we also prefer that all characters are capable of speaking Basic without technological aid. Due to game balance, we're not permitting any Miraluka characters (despite them being a nice species with extensive lore)

Right now, for balance reasons, we will not want any more Jedi padawans of 16 years of age, as half the padawans currently hold that age. Other than that, there are no age restrictions in place other than those related to character rank and common sense.

This RP is, as mentioned elsewhere, not focused upon combat, though that will of course happen when Sith and Jedi are close together. It is intended to be an extensive study of the nuances of the light and dark sides, as well as the differences between Vitate's Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic.

If you've got any questions, don't hesitate to ask the GMs or the people in the OoC. We enjoy helping people with their character sheets and with expanding their RP horizons. While it helps to know Star Wars Lore, we don't have any requirements for such, so long as you're willing to learn and read up where needed.

If we've not scared you off yet, feel free to check out and drop by the OoC.
