By many, it is said that this is the trademark of the Sith. For Twenty-eight years, the Galactic Republic has been at war with the Sith Empire. Untold millions have died on both sides. Countless lives have fallen into ruin as worlds beyond count have been laid to waste. While most still support either the Republic, the Empire or smaller factions of their own, many are tired of the war. Many do not see the war as more than a religious conflict between the Jedi and the Sith.
Recently, the Sith Empire started gaining ground against the republic. This is one reason many, particularly within the ranks of the Jedi Order, suspected the deceit to come after the Sith Empire sued for peace. But no matter how expected the deceit was, no one in the entire republic had in their wildest thoughts imagined exactly what the Sith would do. It came as much as a shock to them as the wish for a peace negotiation did.
Even as the Peace talks were progressing on the neutral planet of Alderaan, A mandalorian warrior working for the empire disabled the Coruscanti defense grid. Shortly afterwards, long before anyone noticed the disabled defense grid, Darth Malgus, accompanied by fifty Sith Warriors, struck straight at the Jedi Temple. At the same time, a fleet of Imperial warships jumped into Coruscanti Orbit, immediately taking out the planet’s Holonet connections. To the greater galaxy, it was as if Coruscant simply disappeared. As the warships started their bombardment and took out what few defenses remained, they also set up blockades along all the hyperspace trade routes away from the planet.
Down in the Jedi temple, Darth Malgus and his warriors decimated the defenders, handedly slaughtering them. This is all common knowledge now. What is not known is that not all the Jedi in the temple died. After the bulk of the defenders were taken out, the Sith spread throughout the temple, capturing countless Jedi and other persons of interest. This is where you come in.
The question is as such: Which are you? Prisoner, Rescuer or Captor? Jedi or Sith?
If you chose this path, you are a Jedi in the service to the Galactic Republic. You were among those counted lost but whose body wasn’t found, thankfully because you had avoided the atrium at the time of the Sacking. Else you would’ve been killed and added to the numerous dead found, further denying any hope to those who still desperately sought any survivors among the temple ruins. No matter if it was bad luck, the need to finish up a task or some other reason, you will now find yourself a prisoner of the Sith and Imperial troops who ransacked the temple. The only fate that awaits you are rather grim ranging in torture, clever tongues of truths and lies, and even cruelty beyond description… at least according to the Temple teachings. Options: Turn to the dark side, attempt to escape or die trying. What option will you chose in your tale?
Unlike the Temple Jedi, you weren’t on Coruscant during the events that ended up rattling both the Galactic Republic and Jedi Order at their core. Instead you were away, completely ignorant of the struggle and horrors your fellow Jedi face. You were either among the numerous Jedi preparing for a mission intent upon rescuing several prominent captives of the Sith empire. Or you might be on a completely different mission. However, like many, when word reaches you about the Sacking it will most likely shock you. On the outside, the Jedi Order continue the peace negotiations but behind the scenes, a previously prepared rescue mission is launched. You are informed that both the Galactic Republic and Jedi Order cannot claim to have any responsibility for your actions because of the peace treaty, when it’s sign each of you are on your own in the end. Options: Finding the missing Jedi, then doing everything in your power to rescue them or prevent more Sith from joining the ever growing ranks. Do you think you have what it takes either way?
As a Sith, you’re onboard the Kaggath, one of the numerous Sith ships involved in the Sacking of Coruscant. At first your task is simple as once on the republic ecumenopolis you must seek out, subdue and capture any Jedi found within the Temple. It’s an order bestowed by the powerful Darth Nyiss, herself. Your reasons for impressing her might vary as it does with all Sith. Some would do it to keep their lives from becoming a living nightmare onboard the Kaggath, using the power her influence would bring to their goals or even what they could learn to overcome future threats. The reasons are unlimited and few would deny there’s great benefits to becoming an apprentice under her. Sadly, like many great challenges, there are obstacles: your fellow Sith. It is a fact they view you as the same and have little whims about cutting you permanently out of the picture to achieve their goals.
Options: Earn Darth Nyiss’ attention to rise above your fellow contenders, either by capturing numerous Jedi or notable ones and turning them into future Sith. In addition, a close second is to ensure to remove your fellow Sith from the competition through any means necessary, even murder. How far are you willing to go to avoid being crushed and instead rise to the top?
Reveal your interest here or on the IRC and show which path you’ll take, or... are you afraid to reveal it?
This does look pretty good. I think I'll pull in my character I have stashed away for this.
I know I reused a favorite of mine for the rp so bring him/her on. ^-^
Consider my interest expressed.
Yay another interested! So excited.
Nice to see you two are interested, and if you have any questions than feel to ask before the OoC as other interested lookers might have the same. While I can't reveal everything, I can try to answer them earnestly and best to my ability. The fellow GMs, Sundered Echo and Ellri, are also free to shout out your ideas and learn which group needs more as well as brainstorm. For quick answers I suggest the chat as Ellri, despite him in there he maybe afk for a while, checks in often. I'm on from Eastern Time (USA) from 9 pm to morning and Echo much later. So someone is usually around at some point.
Right now we have a good idea for number for each group and so flexibility for your role is best. We're hoping to get some nice interest to determine how many of each we'll be possibly... entertaining. :D So the numbers aren't set in stone.

Are the only options Jedi or Sith? Would you be willing to have a 'neutral' party like a Mandalorian in the mix as well? Or a droid?
What's your opinion of having a 'provocateur' in the mix, someone actively working against the others to undermine their efforts while at the same time trying to protect their own cover as a spy?

The likes of Mandalorians are ruled out. I can say that much.

Yes, the only options are Jedi and Sith since the main aspect of the Rp are to explore both the differences and similarity between the two when it comes to the Force, methods to completing their goals, and more. Most movies and other media make Sith out to be completely evil for no reason or Jedi as usually passive, a fact we wanted to change up and morph through how Players chose to play it out. Also a point to consider is your PC's goal, just because they are with a group doesn't mean loyalty. It just could be a way to complete their lifetime goal or gain something. What story they want to tell and if the PC survive long enough to tell them. It's slight difficult to do this with non Force sensitive individuals, including working them in future aspects of the story, so best you could have is a Sith or Jedi with machine parts.
As for the 'provocateur' idea, if you're willing to work with a force user for this, I think it's possible. Hard but possible, and would be interesting to watch him cover his tracks namely with the mischief that the GMs and other veterans will have plotted. Namely depending on the group, it could cause some serious fun though we would need to see a CS to see if the PC works well, else we'll help edit it to where it works.
Or though, thinking about it, my character might be a bit overpowered for this. She is rather, good at all things Force.
We have all types though combat is a minor part. I will add we have a list of Force Powers to help prevent Powers that could be considered difficult to manage and balance rp wise. It's mainly to make things less hassle for the GMs and power search easier for the players, including a small descriptions. The era is currently war time so it's natural the Jedi and Sith will all have some sort of offensive ability for combat.
