MangoJuice and I have come to the conclusion that in order to keep track of everyone's technological advancements and ensure fairness, the time has come for important research projects (so you can invent a flute or something without this) to be recorded by a post counter.

For example, for the Cindorayi at the moment it would read:

Agriculture: 4/4
Masonry: 1/4
Stone tools: 3/8

They all advance at once, and you can have as many as you like within reason.

Also, there is to be a distinction between dialogue posts and proper IC posts. Dialogue posts contain nothing but interaction between you and another player, can be posted one after another, and cannot advance your technology post counters. Proper IC posts can have both and advance your technology counters, but can only be posted after two or more other people have made proper posts.

Any clarification needed on the new rules?

@Mihndar
So like a civilization type "turns until research is complete?" Is it an additional 4 turns for completetion at rank? (Ex: 4 for first level of advancement, then 8, 12, 16 and so on) or is there a set time for each major project?

Exactly. And no, you can set it to whatever you think reasonable. It's just to make sure nobody develops anything crazy without one of the GMs noticing, or takes an unrealistically small amount of time to research something.

'Aight, everybody tell me if you want to expand, add cities, provinces, etc. Remember to keep it sensible and as descriptive as possible.

BTW those barred areas are claimed land. It's not settled, but you'll have to take it up with the local tribes if you want to move in. Nothing will physically stop you, of course. At least not right away...

I'm sorry for inactivity but let me run you through this past two days for me. Get up at about 5:30 for weight lifting for football at 6:00. Then at about 11:00 go down to my great grandparents old house (which my family is trying to sell) and mow the lawn and weed choked garden that hasn't been touched in two years. Then at 3:30 I walk down to the wrestling room (not far from grandparents just across the street) for a two hour summer practice. Not sure if anyone here wrestles but the practice Is not easy. Plus for the first time in the past month we have been "blessed" with clear skies and sunny weather.

I'm clear this weekend though I'll have something up. And don't worry things with the house will settle down fast and I'll have more time and energy.

Also sorry for complaining so much. I just needed to rant.
(Will probably regret this message in the morning)

Iron is a bit too advanced for now, you should probably go for a weaker metal like copper and then work your way up to bronze, then iron.

I do intend to expand and add a city/town/cluster of dens soon, but more on that after my next post.

More than one race can discover copper. Most of us will end up discovering all the same technologies along the way, unless people think of something creative or different from the non-traditional path. You can concentrate on certain things though, to be for example ahead of most people in weapons technology.

Smelting iron requires significantly higher temperatures, which requires a bellows and a smeltery and all the relevant equipment, which won't really be possible until we get to the classical era.

Greetings all.

There are some things I'd like to have cleared or denied permission before my next posting.

The next post will skip a year and refer back to the previous with story, but...

1. I had hoped to have the Soruli encounter odd plant/wild life within the rainforest as it seemed like a cool place to mess with. A plant which tries to catch with vines and then eat one alive like a venus flytrap, a snake that bites and melds with the skin to release its eggs within the flesh to let them fester then burst outward, a nice flower that releases pleasant scents and is able to eventually be breed for different colors and sizes... etc. etc.

Would any of those be allowed if I kept the progression of finding realistic as desired? There will certainly be experimentation, death and then sometimes success. These things would mainly be set up for future use as time goes on, not simply a one-shot aspect of story.

2. How do all feel this day? I hope well.

I'd like to ask if the map could possibly be expanded southwards, as I may or may not be able to bring in more people, and we might end up with very early conflicts due to border contesting (Unless that is what is wished for, of course.)
It would also be nice to know what lies beneath us in the far south.

1. Those sound pretty cool. You can do that if you want.

2. Sleepy.

I'll expand it as soon as you send a party southwards. (spoilers, its more rainforest.)

Roger that. Thank you for the quick response. I expected rainforest, just curious about the general look of the surroundings.

We're undergoing a procedural map expansion for both the suspense and to save space for new players. Once we reach classical/medieval times we'll probably have the whole main continent, and then once we reach renaissance/colonial times the rest of the world.

This is a Meesk.

They're an extremely common animal that roam the deserts of Nova Mondial. Their diet consists of riverside berries and small insects. They can communicate using the bulbous growths on their chests and can also use them to absorb water for long periods of time. They're 3 feet tall, lack tails, extremely dumb and are usually used for food or companionship.
