@Foster What's it like, if you don't mind me asking?

Well, the concussion was just blackness (didn't even know I was hit). When I came-to pretty much while being hauled into the ER I didn't quite immediately realize just how much blood was pouring out my ear.

>Being deaf...
Everything is quieter. But not consistently. Some frequencies get through better than others. Particularly anything with a lot of bass. The brain can compensate for this and still direction-locate, but it generally requires you to turn your head and hope you hear the exact same sound a second time (and hope it isn't moving).

>Being blind...
Glaucoma. A pressure-spike tends to cause migraines, which include the feeling that you're one sudden-movement from vomiting violently for however long it takes to fix that [can take several days without meds]. Visually, there's a "blind-spot", not so much a tunnel as a persistent gray fog in what should very well be in your FoV. And it never really shrinks, it just gets bigger as the years pile-on.

If it's only one eye (in my case, my previously dominant one), blinking can reset your dominant eye to the one that sees better; since your brain interprets the fog as standing with your hand over that eye.

Thankfully, I've still got peripheral vision from that eye where it matters (out to the left) and it's as clear as it was from before I was diagnosed with it. But as noted, it's only really a matter of time and making too many mistakes for that to change for the worse.

Naturally, this has caused me to adopt the pararescuemen's motto in the event of an emergency.
Which when combined with all the other mottoes I've lived by turns into:

*Do your best to be prepared to be unprepared at the worst possible time, so that others may live.
-I'm not dead yet; try to keep up. What one man can do, another can do.

I'm just lucky, I guess.

Name: Magnolia Lovissa
Appearance:

Age: 22
Gender: Female
Where you from?: Fayette, Iowa
Personality: She tends to adapt depending on who she hangs out with - she's not fake, just a survivor. She cares about humans as a whole, tends not to judge anyone from experience, and if she likes - or, god forbid, loves - anyone, her love is deep and hard to lose, even if she tries to let you go. A huge adrenaline junkie, she lives for the risk - and when there was none, she'd use other methods to get her high.
Back Story: Growing up in a small town with a corn farmer as her father and an attorney for a mother, Magnolia spent a lot of time alone before she got her license at sixteen - but once she had it, she was never at home. She made friends with what parents call 'the wrong crowd' at school, and most of her free nights were spent by the dam on the river in a little hollow in the limestone cliffs - perfect for having a campfire, or things less legal, without being seen - or at her friends' houses, blowing smoke with her buddies. Once she was eighteen, she bought a bike and took off, determined to see as much of the country - or world if she could afford it - as she could, mostly roaming across the United States, sometimes renting an apartment or calling on friends to crash with so she could work for a few weeks and get her cash moneyflow up again. After exploring much of the west coast, she'd headed east, having been in NYC for about two months before the outbreak hit.
Weapons:

Vehicle:

Other:
She has a couple of triggers - one of which being people grabbing her arms/wrists, from a time when she'd been a child walking home from school and been grabbed from behind, tied up, and left in a garage for three days, and another being - well, most of them are about people being behind her. If you walk up behind her and say 'boo', she won't yelp - she'll punch you in the gut, and that's getting off lightly. When she's triggered, her brain shuts down and gives in to self-defense, even when it's unnecessary. She always apologizes profusely when any such event happens, but beyond getting tied up, she refuses to share the reason she's so jumpy - she refuses to tell what else happened in the garage.

M14A1 or the civilian M1A remakes?
True M14s stopped production around 1968, after 1975 a surge of remakes came out due to popular civilian demand.

Oops, a remake I suppose - I had a different rifle in mind but completely forgot the brand name, so I just whipped one off the top of my head. Thanks!

*goes on a limb and guesses either a Ruger 10/22, Marlin 795, or Ruger Mini-14/Mini-30

I think it had a Mark in the name? Not a very popular brand rifle, more of a hunter's rifle - my father has one I shoot sometimes during deer season

I'm more of a shotgun girl - I shoot steady 20s in my trap league - and even then I don't pay close attention to the brand name, more to the gun's individual performance.

That narrows it down to the Fulton armory's Mk 14 EBR, the Mk 12 SPR, and a bunch of bolt-action rifles.

Weatherby Mk V <- Ridiculously expensive
There also the Ruger M77 Mk II

Oh, and the Mk 47 "Mutant". A love-child between an AR-10 and an AK-47.

You do realize that rifle likely costs more than my first car, right?
-Just saying... totally not jealous over here...

Something around $3,500.
-Guaranteed to be a terrific-looking straight-shooter, though.
(It's like a Mustang, only guaranteed from the factory to win every race or your money back)

I nearly got sold an $300 SA20 from a product review. Instead bought a $400 Rem 870 Exp (3" 20 ga) and had to get parts (spare barrel & choke-tubes) from the factory (largely for parts-commonality with the other firearms in the family and because I was only sold a rifled-barrel).

Quite a few weapons on your character but with her size I will allow it. Love the sniper rifle and we may have to raid a gun store and steal silencers since no one has any xD

@Foster

You never know what people can find in a pawn shop or gun shop. I am pretty easy with guns as long a person isnt walking around with a 100lb .50 cal machine gun for no reason at all.
