That's why most people play assholes, it's easier to explain why they would be fighting and generally doing anything to win.

Strange that good people don't utilize their own advantages, such as having townspeople come to their aid and the like.

Why would I want to get the poor towns people killed?

I suppose that is the downside, I'd probably have them shoot arrows or something from a safe distance.

Given the nature of RP fights. They would be ripped to shreds for being NPC's. So they are doomed to die if they interfere.

Nah, not if you're smart about it.

Couple archers waltz over and start firing at your opponent while you're in combat, opponent is forced to dodge and probably charges archers with killing move planned, you intercept and stab in back, victory.

They'd provide a very good distraction.

Keeping the tournament details a surprise or not should be up completely up to the host. I imagine a storyline for a modern one where each character is hired by the same guy to assassinate someone else he's hiring in order for him to whittle down everyone but the best assassin.

Most of my characters are good guys but willing to kill bad guys as needed. Most townspeople would be too afraid to do anything so would likely just run away unless you got an angry mob to form. Even back then it's not like everyone walked around with swords like you see in movies.

I guess I have a fair amount more free time given being in just one RP at the moment.

You should fight @Innue if they have the time, I'd like to see a fight between you two.

@Rilla

I'm typing up the post now, really sorry for everything holding y'all up.
Also @MelonHead Skallagrim made his quarter on the post, so the contest of action is still up in the air. I do contest your mention of "Nonchalant." Just because it's a simple action doesn't make it nonchalant.

@Skallagrim

I'll post in the morning, sorry for holding you up too.

Fun Fact:
Witnessed what Kevin, Isaha, Kenny, and Myself assume to be a murder. So I've been a bit scatterbrained.

So I was going to say something about you challenging a bunch of newbies to ranked matches to earn points, but then the Guild went down for several hours and now I'm just glad to be back in time to say good night.

I wish I had the time to prance around the locker room, challenging everyone. Not even for the points (those are just a plus), but just because it would be insanely fun. Win or lose, I imagine I could learn a lot from it. That alone is exciting.

Fighting newbs is not enjoyable, merely an unavoidable factor in the ranking system.

You might want to find someone to support your defense, because Skallagrim argued that you probably should of checked the kick with your leg (I also said the same in my post) so by all accounts my kick probably would have broken through your defense, if it worked at all. I said nonchalant because your character made relatively little moves other than to crouch down and try and catch a speeding kick, something difficult to do against even a fairly sloppy kick you're expecting.

You should probably ring someone about that murder thing.

@melonhead @leeroyLike I said I don't care who wins or loses, I merely pointed out that the move was not the most advantageous move and real world fighters would avoid it because it places you in a horrible position if it doesn't work.

Even if Melon consents to the grab, there are counters to what you intend to happen. Some of which put you in a disadvantageous state from the jump. Not saying Melon can do it, just that the possibility is there.
