Hi all,

I am looking to recruit a few people (about 5-7) for a superhero RP I'd like to start soon. I already have a few people I know who will be joining this, which will make a total of 8-10 players, including myself. I will start the RP when I have a total of 8 players (an additional 5), and I will close applications after reaching 10 total players (an additional 7).

Now for the sake of quality to you, my players, I will ask that if you wish to show interest and be subsequently recruited, to agree to the following terms:


That's it for RP rules really, unless someone can think of any for me to add, the help would be greatly appreciated.


I'm not asking you to start making characters here, I just wanted to make it plain in case any of these character restrictions are deal-breakers for you, then you should probably look elsewhere.

One last thing, I am opening this world up to player contributions, specifically, I would like every player to have a main superhero character. In addition, any player may add 'flavor characters', NPC's, side characters, etc. to flesh out their history. Let me know if you want to control those characters, or if you want me, the GM, to control those characters. This means that you can totally make the supervillain rival to your superhero character, and you can play them, or let me play them. You can also 'swap' villains with another player if you think that would be fun. I allow this because rogues galleries are often themed with the heroes they belong to. Of course, I don't want every player to make like 5 different characters. My tiny GM head would explode. Once the OOC is up, you can discuss with your fellow players if you will be starting solo careers, or if you would like to begin the RP already in teams, etc.

Well, that's it, I hope my 'terms' don't make me come off as a d-bag, I just want some good, clean, cooperative, quality fun occurring on a decently regular basis. See you on the other side.

Never been a fan of grim 'n' gritty 90's/New 52 style stuff, after all, but that's what most of the superhero RPs that pop up here tend to be unfortunately so it always makes me reserve judgement on superhero stuff. ^^; But um yeah. ^^;

I actually have two characters I'd like to use as long as the tone and stuff is interesting to me.

One would definitely be pretty rookie as far as a superhero goes, but the other, um, would be a veteran witch(though not exactly a straightforward superhero even if she would be one) who has some summoning spells, um, would the latter be okay too?

I am interested in this. Will there be a plot?

Hmm, I'd have to say that I would rather people not make too many brooding, dark, painful, mysterious backstory, anti-hero characters, it gets old and tends to inhibit cooperation (a few are ok, but it doesn't mean their pain is more important than anyone else's). There will probably be some villains who are moustache-twirlingly evil. The child superhero/sidekick experience is not guaranteed to be traumatic. I guess for the most part I want happy campers, but some grim, grit and realism is ok too. I do want to try exploring some deep philosophical themes, that are not necessarily dark though.

Sorry, I do want terms agreements upfront so that can have power over you so that I can know our RP styles are compatible-ish maybe. I do want some commitment before people agree to the terms so I don't start the RP and have half the group drop out before we're 5 posts in.

As long as the summons are not intelligent enough to question their own existence, then magical creatures are fine. Golems and magical constructs/animated inanimate objects work too.

I guess I do have a few exceptions for sentient beings besides humans, which are aberrants, for example: a magical creature that's lived long enough to gain sentience, a magical construct that's been around long enough to gain sentience, a robot AI that somehow developed sentience. These would be ok, since they would be rare, uncommon, generally incapable of producing more of their own kind, and are not entire races of nonhuman sentients.

Also, an equivalent to the Marvel concept of 'mutants' will be a thing.

It will be pretty free-form/sandboxy but there are certain things I want to happen storywise, but will not force.

I am not sure if my last post counts as me saying so but I agree to your terms and yeah.

Possibly thinking of using a robot superhero but we will see how that turns out. ^^;

If I can't work it out in a way that makes me happy I got a mutant idea in reserve.

One pure tech character(well, specific tech and punching things) and one full-blown magic character are what I have planned.

... Unfortunately, it seems that I'll have to tweak one of the latter's summons a bit, since sapient extradimensional living jack-o-lantern that shoots fireballs seems unlikely to be acceptable.

I was going for more of a Cthulhu-mythos take on weird stuff like that where it's more underlying our own reality, but I kind of figured. ^^;
