Before I fade back into nothingness, I was wondering if it would be possible to put together a collection of all of the plants and animals that we've created. It could be useful for inter species interaction if they both had the same type of vegetation in the area. Just a thought.

I could probably get Mihndar to put a list in the Characters tab OP.

Just PM me any species you want me to throw on (unless you desire to make me look through all your posts) and I'll assemble a list.

Here's one for the list.

The Mascuss

Their height at adulthood is about 70 feet tall. They live to be about 160 years old on average. The Mascuss appear to be fungi organisms that have the ability to use long, sticky tendrils to lure animals as a food source. How the Mascuss captures and eats its prey is still a mystery. They are nocturnal and emerge from the forests at night, waiting for something to come by and brush against its tentacles. In daylight, they slip back into the tall swampy forests and hide in the mud.

I was pretty sure we had agreed on no megafauna. Despite the fact that they are fungi, the argument stands.

I don't remember that rule anywhere.

For future reference, where is the line drawn for megafauna?

@Joegreenbeen
Things are getting slightly complicated. I hadn't heard from you, so I just remade the post acting like it was The Society that young Haixun was chasing after. I don't know if it would be best if I try to stitch it together that Haixun was tracking both of you, or if you would rather pretend that it never happened. What would be your ideal solution to this situation?

The only guidelines I would say are no megafauna (anything larger than an elephant) and nothing with any strange abilities, unless it's like something that exists on earth. An example would be the eel. But domestication of animals is a critical aspect of civilization, so vagueness is not really an option.

Me and Mihndar spoke in private and he agreed to allow stuff outside of those definitions as long as the community is okay with it.

That being said, what does everything think of the Mascuss?

Regarding the Mascuss, I would like some things are clarified, such as where it lives by map. While large, I think the more important issues are that it isn't overpowered, and it's location isn't biased towards favoring/harming certain players. For another question: How rare is it?

As for IC posts, I am working on one right now. Sorry about the delays.

They'd probably live anywhere on the map that is a moist forested area, like a wooded river or swamp. It's not over powered since they are very slow, and don't attack unless you touch their tentacles. They're very rare, being so large, but the exact numbers, as well as other things, are up to RPer interpretation.

Based upon that, it seems okay to me as a player, but as a GM, I would like to hear other thoughts first, too.

They seem okay with me. Slow creatures are easy to avoid. Are they in any way mindful of where they step or would they just walk through a village, taking down everything in it's path, so to speak?

@Father Dagon and I will be taking a vacation for a week, so we aren't going to be able to post for a bit. Sorry about the circumstances, but we should be back before too long.

I'd imagine they would be somewhat careful where they tread, lest they get stuff stuck in their feet.

Just found the Mascuss in the image after some brightness and contrast editing . They look okay, but since they're rare, what are the chances of one living in the swampy forest where my Saurians live?
