Yeah, that's kinda where its at. All ex captives have their own quirks, I suppose. >_< I'll message you ideas about powers and stuff so you can clear them before I go about doing stuff I shouldn't.
Name: David Letterman Age: 18 Gender: Male Race: Hex Status: Enslaved/escaped Bio: There isn’t much to say about his youth. He grew up with loving parents. When he first discovered he could blink. While he didn’t lack anything in particular, he was still a bit greedy. So sometimes, not too often, he would commit petty crimes like shoplifting (he just blinks in and out of the shop) or unauthorized access (he blinks passed the club bouncer). Eventually he was caught and put behind bars.
David is a cheery and happy kid. Though prison life has put a damper on it. He loathes fighting in most forms though understands that if it’s inevitable, he must give it his 100%. While he can be a little bit greedy, who with powers wouldn’t use it for their own comfort?
He could escape during the breakout of Ace and managed to pass the bulk of guards with his blink ability. Right now he’s in the forest, following the sound of talking of what he assumes are other Hexes.
Powers/Abilities: Blink – an ability allowing him to travel short distances in an instance. Often in a blue-black flash he disappears and appears again. The blink ability can only be used over a short distance. Having a range of about 15 meters tops. He doesn’t need a direct line of sight, but he must remember the destination. For example: David cannot blink into a room he never saw before.
Dark claw – At close range he can envelop his fingers in black-purple, crystal-like claws. The claws are at the strength of steel. Ripping through flesh and clothes quite easily.
Dark needle – at longer ranges, David can form a long, black-purple, crystal-like needle that he can fire off. The longer he wants the needle to be, the longer he has to let it grow. But the longer it gets, the further it can strike. A minor detail: the needle floats in his palm. It doesn’t grow out of his skin. And it seems to be growing much like a plant on steroids. Extra information: Dark energy that powers his claws, needle and blink ability are closely connected to bloodlust. The more he kills, the stronger his powers become. For example: with blink he will be able to go further, faster and more often. His claws will become bigger, covering his hand and maybe eventually his upper arm. Serving as protection if needed. The needle would grow faster, thicker and longer. However, it puts a great strain on his mental stability. All of this is still very much unknown as David never really went into a rampage before.
Oh, that works nicely. Especially if the group is temporarily splitting. The breakout of Luciel...like, when he broke out? Or with what just happened in breaking Ace out?
Howdy. I'm interested. Here is my character sheet so far.
Name: Kyle Kruger Age: 27 Gender: Male
Race: Human
Status: Field operations leader of "Storm Hound", a military task force formed from paratroopers of the 101st Airborne Division to perform counter-insurgency warfare. Storm Hound and counterpart units represent an escalation of the growing war against Hexes, the military growing frustrated with the inability of the police to adequately deal with the threat, as well as repeated incursions against their installations.
Bio: Kyle Kruger has served in numerous wars prior to his latest deployment back home and against the Hex menace. Wracked by economic decline, world hunger, and a fuel crisis, the world saw numerous nations allied to the US fall into civil war, societal collapse and general disarray. In response, US military personnel subsequently found themselves being shuffled from one destination to the next, year after year, to try and combat this chaos.
While these wars proved even more costly and futile than their antecedents a century in the past, they proved influential for Kyle Kruger's later work. Through the course of his service, he compiled his observations and theorizations into a primer on the nature of unconventional warfare and combating guerrilla tactics. Eager to put his doctrine into practice against the new threat blossoming within his very nation, the emergence of the Hexes, he appealed for the creation of a new unit to deal with it. These plans manifested in Storm Hound, formed from around 50 other paratroopers from his battalion.
As an individual, Kyle Kruger has garnered something of a reputation for his exuberant eccentricity, earning him the moniker of "Smiles". His excitability is held to be unusual, and those close enough to him to be aware of them describe his views as "questionable." Despite efforts to whitewash his image, there remain many hard to squash rumors of past scandals and controversies he has been involved with. Regardless of these problems, he has proven himself to be a reliable and dedicated soldier.
Powers/Abilities: - Power armor operation: Like all soldiers in his unit, Kyle Kruger is outfitted with an M62A2 "Petraeus" armored exoskeleton. While derided before the emergence of the Hexes as being prohibitively expensive and unsuited to the nature of America's latest wars, these suits are now looked upon favorably as a way to increase the survivability of ordinary humans when going toe to toe with the likes of these super beings. However, numbers are still required to deal with Hexes reliably, even with this advantage. The M62A2 "Petraeus" system provides superior mobility, protection, and weight carrying capacity to its user. One particular modification to the system for its service in the Storm Hounds, as per Kyle Kruger's personal request, is a rebreather piece that is used to administer various combat stimulants in a vapor form to the user.
- Proven in combat: As a veteran of several conflicts, he has more than a bit of an idea of what he's doing. Generally proficient at fighting.
- Tactician: A capable leader of his men, among whom he has instilled respect through his consistent ability to get results.
